1) Uthman Ibn Fodee (Usman Dan Fodio): for his ability to conquer and unite all the Hausa states of Nigeria into one Caliphate. For his great books on philosophy, warfare and economics (if not for his books, Oyibo for still dey claim say na dem teach us how to read and write). For his democratic and republic Sultanate system of government and for his wisdom in retiring and handing over power in due time. 2) Pat Utomi: for studying the uniqueness of Nigeria and solving problems according to the Unique culture, people and terrain. 3) Mallam Aminu Kano: for his sincere effort and personal sacrifice at alleviating the problems of the masses. 4) Nnamdi Azikiwe: totally without any tribal bias. He focused on the big picture. 5) Jaja of Opobo & Nana of Itsekiri: for having great insight in quickly shifting the Economy from Slave Trade to Oil Palm trade without friction. I respect Governor Nana of Itsekiri for handling the Niger-Delta problem which is seeming impossible today. Especially though, I respect King Jaja of Opobo for giving up his life just to return to the motherland even though he was certain that the British would kill him en route from exile. King Jaja of Opobo was the only leader in the world not to sign his people into colonialism on the basis of the inability of the British to adequately define the words "Protectorate" and "Protection" as contained in the document. |
ONLY RECENTLY Lest We Forget, we are just beginning to crawl out of the pit of dictatorship and feudalism Lest we forget, we're just about to start expressing and use our freedoms It really annoys me sometimes how the minds of Nigerians are easily wiped Memories of sufferings citizens endured, both military and civilian all evaporated Sometimes I wonder if it's these same people that were bound and whipped I really can't believe Nigerians only wanted this freedom for breeding chaos and grief Complaining at every turn like the Hebrews in the Sinai desert Preferring the past to the future, renouncing their liberty in the stead of captivity Choosing this new laxity as an opportunity; digging up ancient and forgotten rivalries A chance for tribalism, let's beat the drums for divisions between Islam and Christianity And then the calls for militancy, territorial secessions and kidnappings Just hope we remember where we were only recently, how far we have to go We were but slaves, yet now have leashed ourselves by abusing our own freedom The liberties we cried for, we now condemn, the life that we longed for, we now regret I'm just taking time to flash those pictures back lest we forget. |
What has a 15 year plan got to do with tenure? People keep saying President Yar'Adua is reversing OBJ's policies. What I really can't understand is whether a president should pursue faulty policies all in the name of continuity. Do we see the President reversing the privatization and deregulation of the telecommunications industry? Do we see the President de-Consolidating the banks? Do we see the President de-Commissioning all the Independent Power Projects? Do we see the President breaking ties to our main allies, Russia and China? Or has the President unbanned the importation of Poultry Products. The reforms that are viable and beneficial will continue. Those that are not will be thrown out the window. Even when President Yar'Adua leaves, the incoming Government will imbibe what he did right and cast away all he did wrong. That's how it works. Do you expect Clinton to become president of the USA and then declare a war on Iran and Turkey just to show a sense of continuity on George Bush's reforms? Of course she would scrutinize immigrants and maintain high security consciousness in the USA but she won't continue the reforms of declaring wars. By the way, let's stop giving Presidents the automatic benefit of 2 tenures. Knowing they have only four years to prove themselves makes them work harder to perform wonders. Only those exceptionally gifted should be able to have 2 tenures and we have never had any exceptionally gifted President. @joycexz you're right! Those people on KAAKAKI can use their mouth to develope an entire galaxy! @cynthia75 we really need to start exporting only refined petroleum products rather than crude oil. The process however starts with removing subsidy from the pricing of petroleum products within Nigeria, then privatizing the existing refineries, then sign trade agreements and open the borders to our neighbours and remove restrictions from export of petroleum products to our neighbours. But I think we should stay in OPEC but open our eyes and know what we're doing there. We will soon become the most powerful country in OPEC so we need such a body we can use to pursue our own interests. What we should withdraw from is the the Association of Countries accepting to be British Commonwealth. How can Nigeria become a great nation when it claims to be the Ordinary Property of Britain which itself is subservient to the USA? E go hard us if we no leave that functionless cartel. Or can anybody please tell me the aims and objectives of the countries which make up the Ordinary Property of Britain? What do they do? What do they plan to achieve? Total and absolute allegiance to the crown? And then what? Anyways, I beg to differ with you on the issue of paying out money to the unemployed. When people are employed, they are supposed to put aside a fraction of their salaries in case they lose their jobs so they can get unemployment benefits. In Nigeria, workers don't pay that amount as part of their taxes. Instead they pay dues to their unions. So the unions should start realising that their main function is not to strike but to cater for the welfare of their members. As for the old people who are now wisely remitting for their pension, they will reap the benefits when the time comes. As for militants, there must be no dialogue with them. They have been rampaging, kidnapping and murdering for centuries now. Go and check your history, as at the year 1888, Nana Olomu of Itsekiri was fighting Ijaw Pirates on the shores and also stopping their raids on the European factories. This was far before Crude oil was discovered, this was when the Europeans were trading legitimately in Oil Palm. So the Ijaw Militancy thing has nothing to do with resource control or degradation of the environment. There is just a section of the Ijaw warrior community that for more than 300 years, have occupationally been Sea Pirates and Foreign Factory raiders. They do not realise that the world has changed. The only sign of civilization they associate themselves with is Modern Weaponry. This section of the Ijaw community and these ancient cultures were dying out till recently. They require democracy and peaceful governance to be able to engage effectively in their catastrophe. It is time to end this rubbish. Majority of Ijaw people have embraced peace for a long time now, but these terrorists will continue to terrorise them and destroy their source of income so that they too will have no choice than join in. I even hear that some boys from other regions of the country have become initiated into this business through campus confraternities. We must stamp this terrorist culture out now and we must use sweeping brutal force. NO DIALOGUE! Again, the first vampire that should be removed from the President's fold is Ebele Badluck Jonathan. That canker worm that wants to eat into President Yar'Adua's good works must be discharged and replaced with Donald Duke. @WARFY BOY No matter how many times you change your ID, your way of thinking will never change. The som1 that is that is pocketing a huge sum of [N $] from the export and "import" of Crude Oil (I will like to say here that only a mad man will import crude oil to Nigeria), do you not believe that he will make more by exporting refined petroleum products? Think well before you post. Abi the woman wey dey harvest and sell tuber of yam and the woman wey dey harvest, cook and sell porridge, who gain am pass? @tukur2002n whether you like it or you still like it, Nigeria is moving ahead and we're going to get there together. I am not going to pursue personal or nepotistic benefits at the peril of National Interest. God Forbid! And may that kind of mentality erase from your brain too. @deor03 All those Niger Delta MILITANTS should be eliminated! Those of us in the outside of the Niger Delta should be trained in rendering Extension Services and sent down to the Niger Delta to liberate the minds of those of our people over there that are peace-loving. And as we are re-educating them, the Federal Government should be delivering INSTANTLY on any promise they send us to make to the people. However, all militants, High Sea Pirates and Kidnappers must die. Dialogue or peace-talks with them will only give them time to induce new members, then re-group and re-arm. @babasin Who told you that the main agenda of Yar'Adua's presidency is the Niger Delta? If that was the case, Yar'Adua will simply sign secession papers and let the Niger Delta go. Just to add again that Yar'Adua is not reversing OBJ's reforms. Afterall, OBJ pursued a policy of fixing NEPA before he realised only the IPPs would work. OBJ tried fixing the refineries for many years before he decided to sell. Would you then say that OBJ too was in fact reversing his own reforms? Abeg this topic does not have any purpose or even specific direction. Abi una wan turn this one to another North/South, Hausa/Ibo, Christian/Muslim argument again? |
Noah and his 3 sons (Ham, Shem and Japheth) with their wives were likely of the Twa tribes (Pygmies) originally of Central Africa. They were all dwarf height, brown-skinned, curly-haired people. Their ark landed around the Southern Cush (Modern Ethiopia). Japheth must have been the first to leave their settlement prior to the continental drift soon after the ark landed. There were other people in the Northern Hemisphere because some records indicate that Japheth went into the land of the Gentiles. Anyway, Japheth's descendants known as the Grimaldian Africoids moved through what is today known as Europe and landed in the North East of Eurasia (Modern day Russia). With the cold temperatures and the severely low penetration of sunlight, the Japhetic people began to adapt to their new environment. Their skin began to de-melaninize since they didn't need the extra protection from the harsh sunlight of Africa and also, their body in fact needed penetration of sunlight for the synthesis of Vitamin D. Years of low vitamin D production had made their bones thin out due to inability to properly utilize Calcium ions. This long period of thousands of years of inbreeding among these Japhetic tribes in North Eastern Eurasia gave rise to the Caucasoid people of today. Gradually, as populations began to increase over time, these peoples spread across the Northern Hemisphere through Eastern Europe, to Central Europe and in the last thousand years, to Western Europe. Then in the recent centuries, to America. The Hamitic and Semitic peoples lived together for thousands of years in Cush and other parts of Africa and they mixed and intermarried to the extent that there was little difference in their lifestyles, physical outlook and the Hamito-Semitic language which they spoke. As populations began to explode among the Hamito-Semitic tribes, descendant of Ham and Shem, started to migrate westerly. Some went as far as Mali in West Africa but there was a predominantly Semitic tribe settled in the South Western Nubia (modern day Sudan). And there was a predominantly Hamitic tribe around the Nile Delta (of modern day Egypt). There came a period when Lake Sahara (Modern day Sahara Desert) began to shrink and there was a severe drought for several years in North-East and North-West. A lot of tribes in the settlements of Nubians recieved news that the people of the Nile and the kingdom of the Pharaohs, Iknaton (mainland Egypt) had stored up excess food to last the drought and much to sell. This made a lot of the tribes migrate to Ikhnaton and the Nile Delta under the rule of the Pharaoh. With the uniting of the most prominent Hamitic and Semitic tribes of those ages, transfer of technology, adequate population, synergy, science, philosophy, construction and massive accumulation of wealth made the Nile region under the Pharaohs the most advanced Nation in the world for centuries. As advances were made in the Nile, a group of the most prominent Philosophers, Alchemists, Astrologists, Engineers, Artists and Mathematicians in the land wanted to play a large role in governance. The Pharaoh rejected their offer and they decided to leave the Nile to the far west to start a new civilization. These technocrats settle on a strip of land connecting the shores of Gambia, West Africa to the coast of Brazil, East America. This land, was in the middle of the ocean and was known as Atlantis. The Philosophers, Alchemists, Astrologists, Engineers, Artists and Mathematicians developed technology millenia ahead of the rest of the world. They enslaved other tribes and used them to build an ultra-ultra-modern kingdom south of the Cape Verde Mountains. They were so advanced that some modern historians believe they may have used radioactive crystals to power their machines(I personally don't know about that). The kingdom of Atlantis collapsed when continued continental drift caused most of the land to become depressed and submerged into the ocean that is now known as the Atlantic Ocean. The slaves of the Atlanteans escaped in multitudes which gave rise to the tribes of Amahuaca, Kogi, Yanomami, etc of the tropical Amazonian forests (Modern day South and Central America) and the Cherokee, Apache, Mohawks etc of the temperate and desert regions (Modern North America). There were are few Atlanteans who came down to the Amazon region, they were worshipped by the Amazonians for ages, and when they died, were buried in Pyramids similar to the old royal Nile tombs. Back in the Nile kingdoms, when the Pharaoh learn of how much progress the renegades in Atlantis had made to surpass the mother-kingdom, he tried to play catch up and had to make strategic decision to use slaves which he found in Cushite and Nubian brothers. The Pharaohs enslaved these Hebrew tribes whom together were called the Children of Yaqov (bnei Yisrael). After centuries of slavery, respite came when the members of the 12 tribes were led by a certain unifying individual who took them across the Red Sea to the Sinai Desert where they went in circles for decades before they finally reached the promised land of Canaan, Province of Assyrian Phillistia (Modern day Jerusalem, Gaza and Lebanon). This journey is what is now called the Exodus (Original Semitic Emigration From Africa). Though the Canaanites were the most elderly of the Hamitic tribes but had become very weak because of their tradition of isolation from all other tribes, heavy taxation from the Central Phillistine Government and several invasions by the Assyrians, Babylonians and Persians. They were easily defeated by the Semitic Hebrew tribes who claimed most of the land around those areas. Most of the Hamitic tribes in Canaan moved to South East Asia in the Region of the Indus Valley (Modern day Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India). These Hamitic Canaanite tribes were later visited, conquered by the Japhetic tribes migrating from the North and pushed further South of India. This came in the form of invasion by the Turkish and Arabs. Though the Central Phillistine Government tried continuously to recapture their colony of Canaan from the Hebrews, but they were repelled. For centuries the Hebrews lived in Canaan, located in the middle of Phillistia. They broke up into 2 groups. Some of the Hebraic tribes formed the Medinat Yisrael (Modern day Palestine/Israel) in Jerusalem located in the North of Canaan. The rest of the Hebraic tribes formed the Kingdom of Iudea/Judah (in Modern day Israel too). Not long after the conquest of Canaan, the Hebrews themselves began to suffer large waves of conquests on them by the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persian Greeks and Romans. The Northern Medinat Yisrael was completely devastated and sacked. Most of the citizens had to seek asylum in the Babylonian and Persian empires. The elites among them were able to migrate back to the Southern Kingdom of Judah. By this time, all the descendants of the Northern Kingdom of Yisrael and those of the Southern Kingdom of Iudaea remaining in the region came to be generally known as Jews/Judaeans (People of Judah/Iudaea). During the European rule of the Hebrews, especially under the Romans, racism and segregation began to cause much persecution of the Judeans/Judes (Jews) by the Romans. This persecution, massacre and slaughter continued for ages and multitudes of Jews began to migrate to other more tolerant parts of the Roman empire especially the land of the Germanians, Barbarians and the Brutish. The majority of Jews however, migrated to the South of Modern day Russia, outside the Roman empire. Those Jews who chose to wait for the saviour in the promised land witnessed the arrival of Yashua ha Mashiach/Yeshua ha Meshiach (Jesus the Messiah), but his arrival only made things worse for them. Divisions grew within the tribes, more persecution by the Romans on hearing word of a new king outside their authority and finally, the undoing of the Jews was their own belief that the Messiah empowered them to defeat the Romans. Their uprisings were quashed and they were finally sacked from Judah, millions were massacred and millions other more fled into Persia and remote European hinterlands. The whole of the land together was The Sassanians and the Byzantine also conquered Judah and Jerusalem, but by this time, the Hebrew, Jewish and Israeli tribes had dwindled to minute settlements. The Arabs conquered the lands of Jerusalem, Judah and surrounding settlements about the year 700 during their Jihads. By this time, Europeans were the major inhabitants of the then Provincia Syria Palaestina (renamed by the Romans). During the next 800 years, the land passed from the Arabs to the European Crusaders, then the Mongols, and finally, around 1500 to the Ottoman Empire (Modern day Turkey). The Ottoman Empire occupied Palaestina till the about 1920 when the land was annexed during World War I and handed to British Control by the League of Nations. The Hebrews in Europe, having helped the League of Nations to end the First World War, requested the British Mandate of Palestine (renamed by the British). While the request was still being considered, the Hebrews in Europe started the second, third, fourth and fifth Aliyah (Ascent or Jewish Migration). The first Aliyah which was the migration of farmers, occured much earlier between 1882 and 1903. The second, third, fourth and fifth Aliyah landed about a quarter million Hebrews in Palestine and this begins to cause dissent from the Arab citizens of Palestine and the British Government of Palestine against the massive Hebrew immigrants. The British Government bans immigration of Hebrews to Palestine when they issued the White Paper in 1939 and made it illegal for Palestinian lands to be sold to Hebrews. At the end of World War I, the Hebraic Jews took charge of the Austrian and German economies and prospered. Several Austrians and Germans began to convert massively to Judaism. These were referred to as the Ashkenazi Jews (or Yuhude Ashkenaz/Jude Ashkenazi meaning Dutch Land Jews). This conversion of Germans to Judaism didn't quite provoke the Nazi (Dutch) of Austria and Germany. What really irritated them was firstly, the involvement of the Hebrew jews in securing the defeat of Germany and Austria during the First World War, secondly was the attitude of new Hebrew immigrants of the Zulu and Khoikhoi tribe from Africa who were less conservative than regular Hebrew Jews, thereby interbreeding with the Austrian Dutch women, given rise to a large population of Half-Castes (derogatively referred to as the Rhineland Bastards). The Holocaust began in Germany when the German people began to progress under the leadership of Adolf Hitler who strove to rid DutscheLande of the Hebrews and Rhineland Bastards by eliminating them to preserve the purity of the Nazi race, and punishing the Dutch citizens who treasonably converted to Ashkenazi Jews. When the war fully broke out, ALL the Hebrew, Zulu and Khoikhoi Jews, including the mixed race Rhineland Bastards in Germany, Austria and their occupied territories were eliminated mostly by gassing and incineration. Those pure Dutch and Europeans who had converted to jews but were not of mixed race were used as slaves in the concentration camp as punishment for their treason. They were the ones who survived the Holocaust, though a lot died of starvation and disease. Today they are known as the Ashkenazi Jews, who make up 80% of all Jews in modern day Israel. So Dutch who converted to Judaism before the Holocaust now make up the majority of modern day Israelites. During Hitler's time, the Ashkenazi Jews were so many, they made up more than 92% of all Jews in the world. Prior to this boom in the 20th century, the Jews in Germany made up only 3% of worldwide Jews. That is why today, the surnames of most Jews are names of German origin. Meanwhile, in Africa, through the millenia, the mix Hamitic and Semitic tribes settled in different locations according to their families. The Hamito-Semitic tribes who remained in Cush (modern day Ethiopia) during the emigration of other tribes maintained the most of potent of cultures and traditions of Noah and his descendants. Their official National Language is still even Amharic (Armaic) which was the language spoken by Noah, Shem, Ham, Japheth, Avram, Isaac and Yakov before the Hebrew language evolved. They still have the original dishes prepared with the original recipes the same way as millenia ago. They have some of the oldest copies of the Talmud (Torah). Several tens of thousands of them have been airlifted to Jerusalem during Operation Moses in 1984 and Operation Solomon in 1991 to join at the promised land but a lot of them (50,000) prefered to stay in the homeland. They are today referred to as the Beta Israel Jews. They make up the second largest group of original Israelites. The Mizrahi tribe, after migrating from Cush during the era of the Lake Sahara, settled in the North West of Africa (Modern day Morrocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya). They are now called Mizrahi Jews The Bilad al-Nubia Jews of ancient Songhai empire (Modern Niger, Mali and Eastern Chad) are widespread and migrated from Nubia (Modern Sudan) through Chad and settled in various parts of the Songhai empire which was the largest spread empire in Africa. The tribes emanating from the migrant Bilad al-Nubia include the Berber jewish communities and Iddao Ishaak. They have almost been diminished to insignificance due to the Arab and Islamic Jihads. Those not massacred or converted to Islam during the Jihad were converted to Christianity during the European and Christian Slavery, Invasions and Colonial Crusades. The Lemba tribe went back South towards the original cradle of life and are still nomads and Shepherds giving rise to several tribes including the Zulu, Tya, Bantu and Khoikhoi in the South and South East Africa (Malawi, Zimbabwe and Republic of South Africa). They are now referred to as the Lemba Jews. The Ozubulu (Zebulun) tribe settle in a wide area of Central Africa, around the Bight of Biafra (Modern day Bight of Bonny enveloping: Sao Tome & Principe, Equatorial Guinea, Southern Cameroon and South-East Nigeria). The Hebraic people of the Ibo, Cameroonian Guinean and Sao Tomean composition form the largest single tribe, the Ozubulu. Spread across 3 countries and several Islands. Before the advent of the European and Christian invasions, slavery and colonization, the Ozubulu family had populations that exceeded 10 million. The tribe had migrated from Egypt before the Exodus. The large population of the Ozubulu, Eri Nri and Ba-Saa tribes was as a result of it's location in an area that could not be penetrated by Arab and Islamic jihadists. However, the trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and Subsequent Colonization would end all this. There are several other groups of people around the world and most trace their origin to the East African Cradle of Life. Even the Chinese trace their origin to Sudan and Eritrea based on linguistic similarities. So this is how I understand history, since the alighting of Noah from the Ark. I hope you girls know that any guy you show interest in is liable to get banned from Nairaland because we have a jealous God. I'm talking out of experience. |
@luvlawyer You are not happy about that? Well why don't you come down to Nigeria and apply for a visa to the USA "online". By online, I mean on that long neverending line that starts to take shape at about 4 am, where security men will assault you with "bulala" several times per day, where the early dawn will give way to the morn and yet the dusk would find you there still but you haven't even entered the office. Try that for a change, then next time you apply to Nigerian Embassies abroad, you wouldn't complain about them cursing you first before they give you the visa. Meanwhile, where is Bannabas and the banning committee? Seun please delete me from Nairaland O! Stop using your tricks of selected banning to inflate Nairaland membership by forcing people to open multiple IDs. Delete me you hear. I have tried for your nairaland. I'm tired of this rubbish. |
If the man Emeagwali is owed, he should be paid. I wonder how anybody will be called to investigate Nigeria's diminishing petroleum reserves. It is like hiring someone to investigate the diminishing nature of the liquid content of a bottle of Coca-Cola while it is being consumed. But if they hired him to do that, them they should pay him for doing it. However, this should not be seen as an incentive for him to come back to Nigeria. It should be done by the Federal Government because that is the honorable thing to do. Nobody needs Emeagwali in Nigeria right now. When he was inventing stuff, he went to give his intentions to companies in the USA for free so now that he doesn't have anything more to give, I wonder what we need him for. Nigeria doesn't have unconditional love. She needs those that can contribute to come and benefit from arising opportunities. The only thing Emeagwali is good for right now is lecturing in a University or being on the Board of Directors of billion Naira corporations. There are more than excess people to do that over here. In fact, if we recall, there is a high unemployment percentage in Nigeria. |
I suggest you buy ACCESS BANK shares which are currently on sale @ N14.90 per share. A unit of bulk shares made up of 1000 shares goes for N14,900. That's almost all of your N15,000. I was banned from Nairaland that's why I've been in touch. And that is why I will continue not to be in touch. I'm really sorry. |
With that brief message long expected from "God", I knew he had overstepped his boundary once more Realised his idiocy is without an ounce of remorse So now that am unbanned, should I be glad? Should I go prostrate to show how grateful I am? Perhaps I should apologise for your own arrogance. So what does this make me, a better subject I guess Next time I see a moderator, I should soak up in sweat I should bow down my head and shiver with fear Almighty Lord Seun, it is your humble servant here Or in case you're Allah, 'tis your slave denex Come to worship your Highness and swear obedience. Heavenly Father please forgive our mistakes We, your children sometimes don't know our place Afterall, you created us in Nairaland in thy selfsame image. O jealous and arrogant God I pray for lenience Omnipotent, Omnipresent only on the internet Yet outside cyberspace, just a hapless little nerd With the tools at your disposal, we're but ants in your hand your Edit, delete, lock, and the favourite; BAN! You can herd us and bend us without reason or rhyme. You can decide our opinions and steer our minds You can decree what we say, even when or how So thank you Lord, but "you jam rock this time"! |
@Sijien actually, eye dey pain me. It is davidylan that transmutated into PTH. I don't know if Seun banned him, but I'm certain he had used up the last iota of credibility on the ID and decided to "refresh" without necessarily repenting. I wonder how long it would take him to use up this new ID. |
For all those that said this exchange rate gymnastic will Reduce Poverty or Improve The Standard Of Living, only God will judge you. |
@Sienna PTH is the professional debunker formerly known as "davidylan". |
Your thinking faculties or you mean your hare brain? |
@dearstan so even economist like you support this financial facade. For those of you who agree that this re-denomination will generally have little or no effect, I would like you to consider the billions of Naira notes in circulation today and realise that to convert each to a redenominated polymer note will cost about $2 per note (but Nigeria being special, in may cost as much as $5 each) . Therefore, it will cost us $12 billion (our total Federation Account) to print 6 billion new Naira notes at $2 each. So why should we spend $12 billion on a project that will have little or no direct effect and even possibly, could have negative effects? Then secondly, let's examine the indirect effect on devaluing our fixed assets. I see the hand of IMF in this. They are not done with us yet. Anyhow sha, God Help Nigeria because I just can't. |
They are here already? |
O my God! bolutito, I didn't say Tunde Bakare wears designer suits. And please go and settle your issue with Seun. I am tired of all these crazy prophesiers. That's how the other slowpoke said go had given him the Nigerian Presidency in 2003? In 2007 nko? Please, let's stop all this rubbish. |
@PTH just for your information, I love smoking, I preach smoking, that's why I put a profile pic of me smoking. So if you think you're trying to get at me by mentioning smoking, you're only promoting in. You should download that picture cos it may not be there in a while. So what do you do besides eating? |
@PTH earlier known as davidylan must you be this dull? When professionals take military training where they are signed up as reserves, after this, do you think they would go back to their regular jobs or the government will fly them off to the moon? After people go on Short Service Commissions and make themselves available for future call up, would they go back to their ordinary lives or does it entitle them to a lifetime of lunar tourism? Please stop thinking with your hare brain. |
So the people wey complain about monkey virus in polio vaccines in tin US and Canada as early as the 1960s are from Northern Nigeria. The Nicaraguans and mexicans that complained about abortion drugs in Tetanus vaccine, they are from Northern Nigeria. The women that secured a court injunction in the Phillipines against being vaccinated, are they northerners? The pharmacists that carried out tests in South Africa, are they Northerners? Was it northerners that spread those lies on the internet? Considering you have already confirmed that they are all illiterates that don't use the internet. And what ethnic benefits do I have to reap. Afterall, all our children here in the South drank excess of the vaccine which will begin manifesting widespread infertility and cancer when they mature. |
This policy is bad O! May 1st 2008, let's massively protest against it O! I have told you people my own. We are an export based country. A weak currency supports export. That is why China has refused to let it's Yuan rise against the dollar. E bad O! E bad well, well! |
@MacKren because the world is not that simple. If a mosquito sucks your blood and you get malaria, you can't simply get well by withdrawing blood from the same mosquito and injecting it back in your body. If you drop a piece of burning coal on a bush and cause a wildfire, you can't just reverse things by picking up the same piece of burning coal. That is insane. In the past 6 years, what the IMF has been doing is trying as hard as possible to chase away foreign investors from Nigeria. 1) they know that foreign investors like cheap labour, they made the government increase wages by 1,000%. 2) they know that foreign investors love cheap fuel, they made the government increase fuel prices by 300%. 3) they know that foreign investors like a weak currency, they're making the government strengthen the currency by 10,000%. Can you imagine this policy hasn't even touched the ground yet and the BBC is already hailing it. When did the BBC ever celebrate anything good about Nigeria. Nigerians have been idiots for long enough! Wetin sef?!! |
Are you telling me that this project which will cause massive suffering and waste billions of dollars is just to boost confidence, psychology and bring back that nostalgic feeling of shopping sprees? @ell77 you just confirmed my thoughts that this redenomination antic is going to encourage cash transaction and reduce cashless or ecommerce transactions. This plan is evil. Let us not sit and watch it pass into law. The older generation that sat back while the Naira was being devalued are responsible for our 20 years of suffering. Let us not be responsible for another 20 years of suffering. This plan is straight off the table of one of those crazy schemers at the IMF. The same people that brought us almighty SAP. Nigerians Learn, Learn, Learn! |
If this guy had escaped to London now, he will say Nigeria is bad, Nigerians are corrupt. Nothing works. |
We must not let them try any such rubbish! |
@Seun Almighty God of Nairaland and beyond, please read the article http://www.vanguardngr.com/articles/2002/features/law/law126012007.html I hope when you are done reading it, you will earnestly seek different excuse for banning me just as I have begun earnestly seeking measures to ban you too. |
Shagari, now Yar'Adua. Is it that Jehovah only loves muslim leaders? |
Ah! So the man is not just a lying prophesier, he is also a congragational adulterer! This is getting more and more serious. |
So what happens when N25 billion of the Banks? Will they settle with N250 million or will they start pursuing the new N25 billion all over again? @deor03 believe me, this is from IMF. I trust a lot of Government policies. But not when I've made calculation and seen that it all amounts to nought. Is it not this same CBN that has been selling commercial banks foreign exchange that was used for roundtripping? Is it not this same CBN that only this year minted N2 coins. Coins that even illiterates knew would not do any good before they were launched? @mellow benefit of the doubt? These policies cost billions of dollars to implement! We cannot continue allowing some bunch of financial scientists experiment with us. Let me repeat this: Then there is the issue that we will then be unconsciously experiencing massive inflation. After revaluing N1.26 to $1, by the time the currency depreciates a little to N2 per $1, we will not realise that what just happened is that exchange rate just went from N126 per $1 to N200 per $1 in terms of the old currency. So revaluing the currency is actually devaluing our assets and in essence devaluing our lives. @debojyde if you hide your money, you're just digging your own grave because after the re-denomination exercise, the old currency will be banned so your N10 notes will turn to ashes. What we have to do is actually fight against this criminal annual forgery, counterfeiting and tampering of the Naira by the Central Bank of Nigeria. NO TO FINANCIAL ACROBATICS, NO TO FISCAL GYMNASTICS AND CAPITAL NO TO CURRENCY ILLUSIONS. |
Usually evidence comes too late. Yet even then, a lot of members of his congregation will still come to his defence. Look at Someone like Chris Oyakhilome wearing thousand dollar suits on a daily basis without any proven source of income. |
