tiarabubu: Hope you can read. They were brought up to think Muslims will not go to heaven, where in the article were they taught hate? Are missionaries known to strap bombs and detonate them amongst innocent folks?

Anything to make you feel good eh? grin
making inferences is something you were never thought. it isn't your fault but that of your faulty education. olodo

jackbauersballs: Really?

Thanks for the heads up!

Now I can continue to live my wayward life knowing that my cousin has secured my ticket to heaven.

cool
it doesnt work that way. people whose righteousness is only a little step away.
a cousin is too far away. what makes you think you are close enough.

Mad Cow: Indeed it is the greatest book...

It's one thing to memorise a book, it's another to understand what you have memorised.. This little girl is just as intelligent in Islamic matters as a Parrot. She can't stand in a debate on Quoranic matters.

Anyways, I am happy for your great book..

You don't have the gift of wisdom. How very unfortunate.

The child may not yet be able to guve a debate on Islamic affairs but defnitely has a better chance of doing so in the future.

memorising the Quran isnt the all in all but a very big step in the right direction.

Moukafoam: Τhis post should even be in the Christian section because the end result fovours the Chriatians. The children according to the story are now CHRISTIANS

Or are you angry about the story? undecided

Moukafoam: That is correct I must say. My cousin that was living in Spain was forced to give up her two children in adoption. The way the white think is way beyond my comprehension. In the case above, they are seeing the children before their religion but Muslims being who they are cry fowl when there is non.

Christians in the Arab world are being forced daily to accept Islam or loose their lives bt Christians dont say cool
you better ask God for forgiveness. have you been to the arab nations or just saying the things your pastors tell you

ShiaLagos1: You need to "shatap".you are pretending to be "reasonable" because the culprits and perpetrators of wickedness in this case are christians.if it was the other way,and muslims display such pathetic character you'd rush to cry foul.fairness come into your mind only when you do bad.and judgement comes in quickly when you're pointing finger at others.you can go preach in other threads on nairaland used for bashing/insulting muslims by broods of hungry and ignorant christians roaming this forum en masse, and posting without thinking properly.
Don't mind the hypocrites
Islam › Re: A 3-year-old Nigerian Girl Memorizes The Quran by deols(f): 1:55pm On Feb 13, 2013
ehie007: My question is. What is the benefit of memorising the quran. does it guarantee straight ticket to heaven or paradise.huh whats the use in celebrating this,
I like people who are wise enough to ask questions.

why memorise?

The Qur'an has the quality of being the only book that has been passed down from generation to generation without any alteration. That is possible only because it is passed from mouth to mouth by memorisation.

It will still pass the test of time for the same reasons. If something happens and all of it get thrown into see water, the ones in our brains remain.

There are also benefits to it. The prophet says what means that anyone who memorises the Qur'an will help into aljannah 10 members of their family.
Islam › Re: A 3-year-old Nigerian Girl Memorizes The Quran by deols(f): 1:50pm On Feb 13, 2013
Mad Cow: She should try memorizing more useful books like her School books or Nelkon Physics textbook..

She just utilized over 90% of the memory card to memorize a book that adds no real value to either her life or that of society..

the good thing is, if she can memorise the qur'an, she can learn anything else. I hope she would put that into good use
Islam › Re: Muslim Couple's Children Handed To Christian Parents Based on Suspicion by deols(f): 1:48pm On Feb 13, 2013
Exactly!
They should indeed be greatful that the child has been exposed to good christian upbringing and 21st century civilization.
One less potential terrorist to worry about.
If what they trained them to be is someone like you, there is every reason for the parent to feel bad.

this is what christian tolerant is about.

I feel for the parents. Their children are brought up with hatreds in their hearts. hatred towards their own parent and towards people who dont conform to the teachings of the bible.

If you are a parent, just imagine beong taken away from your own children and them being turned against you.
Islam › Re: Muslim Couple's Children Handed To Christian Parents Based on Suspicion by deols(f): 1:44pm On Feb 13, 2013
freecocoa: All of you saying the adoptive parents are wicked are either mad or something.

Like what are y'all talking about?angry
wow! I heard about people who doubt that what they are saying make sense. I hear they resort into insults.

I really want to ask, are you alright? Put yourself in the parents shoes. would you find people who support you mad? would you want your children brought up as Muslims.

Until people try to feel the pain of others, wickedness will continue to reign. You sound very wicked and unsympathetic to the plight of the parents.
Islam › Re: Muslim Couple's Children Handed To Christian Parents Based on Suspicion by deols(f): 1:39pm On Feb 13, 2013
superior1: It has nothing to do with the religion of the parties involved, if you have ever lived in Europe, you will know it can happen to any parent considered careless by social workers irrespective of their religion.

You guys need to stop putting religious sentiments into contemporary issues
contemporary issues indeed.

You will care less about how your childeen turn out for contemporary issues??

Islam › Re: Sharia And Nigeria Politics by deols(f): 9:10am On Feb 13, 2013
You are asking questions we may not know the answers to either.

I don't live in the North and so won't follow the crowd and say shariah is politicised. I would rather ask how widely it is practiced and if for every situation, it is applied.

then I will go on to try to know if it is done the right way when it is practised.

Shariah encompasees all of a Muslim's life. Most of the time, people only talk of the criminal law part of it. what about the laws of divorce, of inheritance and of finance. You don't take an aspect, leaving out the rest and still claim to be a shariah state IMO.

and talking the criminal law, it should only hold where there is social justice. You are not to call someone a thief and go ahead to cut their hands when you have failed to provide them what to eat. An example is a story making rounds on facebook of an indonesian shariah judge who rather than send a grandma who was charged for stealing to jail, he ordered everyone to pay for her upkeep.

Islam › Islam For Muslims Challenge by deols(op): 8:38am On Feb 13, 2013
The knowledge of Islam is beyond the dos and don'ts. The 'miracles'(true or not) aren't the basis of Islam. These plus the undesirable cultural practices of some Muslims around the world, thanks to our friends from other religions or disreligion are frequently found in this section and some make it to the home page.

I am hoping we can look at Islam from another angle, the seerah and make it interactive with much to learn from them.

The Companions Challenge

A companion(sahabah) is someone who lived at the time of the prophet. They can be male or female. May have been young or grown up. Many of them had trials, but remained firm Muslims. This challenge will help us learn more about them and live following their footsteps.

what is expected

1. Each person will choose a sahabah
2. Read about their story
3. share it with us on this thread
4. summarise the lessons learnt
5. we will all discuss it and add comments. prove some points or disprove others.

hopefully, every Muslim on Nl would participate smiley and make it fun. Derailers should please be ignored and not bannedwink

rules

*it should be orderly and numbered.
*make your choice known even before going ahead to read/wtite about it so that others won't go for same
*Don't take what someone else has chosen
*Don't insult any of the sahabah- this would be taken seriously
*ignore derailers while the moderators do their job
*You can choose as many as possible but one at a time.
*Use the best of words-no insults please.
*You don't need to wait for anyone to post theirs even if they chose before you

As with most of the things I start, I will make my choice first..

kola oloye: Do you realize that Qur'an has 114 chapters with 6,348 verses?
All they have to do is continue to recite it to her hears. I am not saying it is true since I haven't seen her recite it. but never say never.

You need to also put into consideration that this is faith based. Prophet Adam knew what the angels didn't because Allah made it so.

kola oloye: This is a lie of the century.
The memory capacity of a 'three old brain' is not enough to contain the whole book of Qur'an.

I know of somebody, late Sheik's son,who was able to achieve it in 8 years.
I dont know why people talk of things they have no knowledge of. How much research have you carried out to arrive at this conclusion?

In fact the younger you are the better your chances of learning anything because your brain cells are still multiplying and in their developmental stage. ever wondered why children pick up new languages better than adults

Wizeboy: Longest time Deols, how are you doing?

I don't think we have any topic that have reached 100 pages before, on ISLAM FOR MUSLIMS thread. Bring on the e-celebration and let the jubilation start.

On a serious note, we have enough members on this thread that can always contribute meaningfully on any topic raised, but most of us just decide to visit this thread once in a while. I think is time we show more interest on this thread in order to educate ourselves more on the right path of ISLAM.

Thanks to Tbaba, Maclatunji and few other that always contribute on the thread almost everyday while most of us are away on other thread smiley smiley.

Let us now try as much as possible to be more dedicated on this thread please.

Maa Salam
too bad we don't. let us work towards this and we can later decide on another topic we would want to discuss at lenght
Islam › Re: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op): 4:16pm On Feb 12, 2013
