Seun: There is no Christian and Atheist forum. We believe Christians and atheists can debate themselves without resorting to violence.
and how much violence has erupted from the Muslims section?

I never liked the caption and was hoping it would be removed. But it appears, there's more sanity with it.

The problem of the section has much more to do with christians and atheists than with Muslims. whatever problem a non Muslim has is with the mods alone whereas the comments from these people are directed at a whole religion with over a billion people and the messenger of God.
it was just an indirect way of humming bobby benson's "taxi driver" lyrics which were on my mind at the time. Dont read too much into it.

however, if there's a reason why i need to be involved in yall's personal lives, let me know.

you fellows have been announcing this marriage thing for a while now, did someone mention my name as the reason for yall's marriage? Or did someone say they were getting married to/because of me, because i really cant put anything past you folks.

personally, imo, i feel you're whatever you say you want to be, whether pagan, buddhist or whatever. Once again, explain in detail how i need to get involved in your matter ie how e take concern me.

as per age, yes, you have a vast store of experience which beats mine hands down, so i'm a learner, waiting to learn from you because you can surely teach me a few tricks.

the 14 in human years being actually 74 spirit [canny] years when it comes to some people, is a fact. Thats why when someone trumpets their supposed "youthfulness", its better to go by their "cannying" age, not just their professed one.

where did i, or have i ever, done that?

sounds s.tupid, good lord. undecided Seems you're projecting on me, God forbid. undecided

you're obviously giddy with something, not sure what it is. undecided
I over estimate you. need I say more?

truthman2012: Why do you have to ban anybody for saying anything against islam? Aren't you muslims saying a lot against christianity? Is anyone banned?

Banning people for expressing their opinion is a way of avoiding the truth. Knowing the truth is the best for anybody as ignorance is no excuse. I don't think it is reasonable for anyone to love his religion more than his own soul by looking away from the truth.

Why do people practice religion? Is it not to have rest for their souls after this world. Heaven and Hell are as real as the life we are living.

Ask those in hell, I'm sure they will tell you they regret coming to this world talkless of the religion they practice in the world. Coming to this world is a risk of hell but we have come already. How we avoid the risk depends on us.

No Nigerian is a relative of Jesus or Muhammad. Even if our relatives would cause us to go to hell, it is better we do away with such a relative. If anybody, I mean anybody (including my mother and father) promises me a second in hell, I will run away from her/him because nobody will help anybody in hell.

A moment in hell is unbearable and longer than many years on earth. Somebody who promises me hell (such a severe punishment) meant for God's enemies does not love me.

The fact is that you never can see or know the truth if your mind is made up on any matter. A muslim preacher said on TV that to succeed you need many enemies. This is very true. Why, because they will accuse you of your faults and this will enable you to sit up and amend. You need criticisms to discover yourself.

tbaba1234: ^ I didn't have a blog when it happened... I was a bit upset but i was still nice (at least i think i was..). I had to make some adjustments to my security features so that i don't get tracked down again.

What do you mean by 'sweet talk'?

See, if a guy expresses interest in you and you already know this person to an extent. you can easily decide if he fits the bill. If you know people that know him. You can ask relevant questions. What sweet talk again? There will be plenty time for that.

The decision is not final at this stage so i don't think you need any 'sweet talk'.
the knowing to an extent is d problem. I dont mean sweet talk as in being romantic. I mean trying to convince the lady to give him some consideration. i think that is exactly what peoe spend their time doing before meeting with the parents.

Is your name babat on facebook?

seriously, I wish I know how she did it. your blog maybe?

concerning the courtship, d world is so different right now. it was easy to approach someone's father if you knew him. what if you don't, you'll need sometime for some sweet talking before she'll let you.

I definitely won't give anyone I don't like my father's contact. no one is liked on the first meeting btw.

if only someone who's done this would come forward to share how he did it.
1. you of all people know exactly what i'm talking about.

2. I'm sharing what i know about anonymity or the lack thereof, of the internet. Its your call how you want to consider that information.

3. what's there to share?

You have more life experiences and age than me, some people are 14 in human years but 74 in spiritual (ie canny) years, so age is nothing but a number, as they say.

4. so, share with us, we are all here to learn from you.

no. Islam doesnt allow you to have concubines.

are you in support of people inheriting women?

Wizeboy: cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Your reasons on why you are still single really crack me up. It will be somehow difficult to see all the things you listed in a single man, the best thing is for you to know your best priority among the things you listed above and soft your pedals on others.

What makes life interesting and worth living are always based on a little compromise; we may desire something earlier in life but as time goes on, when we see that such things are not realizable, is better to choose the most important why others can be let go.

I had a feelings that you didn't really mean all what you typed there sha!!!

It is well....

Maa Salam
w.salam

thank God someone sees a comic side to it.

actually, like I said, superficial things don't matter too much from an experience I had. but seriously, one or two of these things is all I need to see in someone to g3t pissed off. maybe I am too cynical or afraid of the future.

it will sha happen sha.

I tell my friends something and they remind me of it when we need to share some laugh. I told them, when I decide to marry and you start to think seriously, after all her mouthingshuh...just gimme an excuse. think, there is something she sees that you all are not seeing. lol..thats to be on d safe side grin

mdsocks: I know it's not violence. Why would a Muslim sister be violent in the first place that was why "excesses" is in quote..

Mentioned those peeps in reference to their stature(and that means a man in the mold of that character)..Someone who's physique is enough to put a stop to you running your mouth... cheesy

Maybe i need to be more explicit when typing.

remember this..
'running your mouth' is disrespectful. I don't allow anyone use such words with me. And when I do my said oversabi, they are always with good intentions. it takes a good man to realise that and not be offended.

my oversabi cant be directly translated as excesses. they are not always that. I just go a wavelenght beyond others.

what physique? don't even go there.

Islam › Re: Marrying A Widow By The Husband's Family: Islamic Perspective by deols(f): 1:34pm On Feb 14, 2013
inheriting the widow by the husband's family members is an old Yoruba cultural practice. Op wants to know if Islam allows it.

I expect every conversation here to go in that line.

why do your comments have to always be about this kinda things?

comment on the topics at hand. 1. why deols is still single 2. why mdsocks shouldnt be having a courtship 3. why is tbaba sooo concerned about this courtship thing 4. tpiah!!!!! with her life experiences considering her age and vast knowledge of the doings of things should be able to say something nice to this young generation of people.

the courtship matter againhuh

while tbaba's is d best, it doesn't rule out any other IMO. it isnt very practical at this age again.

Lwt everyone have it in mind to do what is best. I will try that but find it even hard puttinh myself in the posiion. Not after many of them alfas end up being very bad husbands grin
Islam › Re: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op):
okay. about my singleness. It really isn't a big deal to me but I realised that in the last few months, people I care about have been asking the question jokingly and suddenly, I felt old grin

I had my life planned out, sometime ago. In my plan, I won't be married yet(2013) but won't be single either. Even if I wasn't single or not married as planned, there were ways to live my life. I am still in d early twenties. what to do in d mid twenties, late twenties, etc as a single woman are all in my head. Of course, I don't want to marry late but heck, if life decides to play hard, I'd still be happy. so you see, I am bound to make a careful selection.

Now, scrap what is on the first page of this thread about what I want in a man. no, don't scrap it. I want exactly the same things I wanted two years ago but with an understanding that the superficial things don't matter that much.
I met someone who wasn't actually all of that and still ready to go for him. there was only one thing to him- he was REAL but that eventually proved not enough.

Well, this is an anonymous forum(save a few elements cheesy) so I can actually say my mind right? I perfectly understand whom I am and what I want. I naturally have high standards-good taste in food, shoes, practically evrything. In fact, my supervisor for my final yr project used the same words to describe me while penning his comments on the works. This standardisation appears to have gotten into way in my selection process.

I am not a perfect being though. In fact, I disagree to being all that to a typical Nigerian man and I want one ehgrin. here, I am talking about my definition of what beauty is. I work hard for a beyonce or say a halle berry and a nija man wants a kim kardashianhuh 1.

writing gets to me and will never take wish for which nor their for there..this one is uncompromisable. So even when I meet the Dr. and I have who can't express himself in proper English, or the lawyer who makes d grammatical blunders, I am so totally off even if he's d most goodlooking young man out there. 2.

I like professionals. Even if it is d teaching profession(hell no!) I'd rather hear something like, I studied law but actually hate the courts and decided to become a businessman. I now buy and sell. than dangote didn't even go to school but is a billionnaire. There are things you can not learn outside the walls of a university 3.

I naturally find myself taking the lead wherever I find myself but won't respect a man who allows me do that with him. I dont mean him competing with me.nor would he disregard my expertise. He just wont let me get in the way when unnecessary. That would require that he is much more than the average whom I naturally intimidate on most occassions #sounds complicated ehn? 4.

As much as I hate to be wrong, I appreciate genuine concerns for my oversabi. A man who can always put me where I belong without being insultive will win my love cheesy anytime. unforunately, people who try do it the wrong way. 5.

some younger men can be pretty stupid, immature, lack communication skills and are too demanding. some who look a little good are too full of themselves and think that is enough for them to get anyone 6.

some people are from the bush and still have their bush mentality. They want wives who would wash their clothes and be ornaments to their houses, handbags to their public appearances and kneel to present their food. tufiakwa.olohun ma je. such traditional men are like a no no from a very long pole. I feel embarrassed by them sef. 7.

last. some of them think they are not rich enough to seek what they want.well, I actually don't want anybody's money 8.

....hmmn! who will marry deols ooooooooo smiley

freecocoa: I'm just seeing this and I'll excuse you on calling me wicked but its been certified that most of you lots think with your head up your a$$es as long as what's being said or argued about is not in favor of you.

Now please just what is the offense of the adoptive parents that makes them wicked? Helping to raise their foster kids in their own way?

Abeg pray tell, where and when did I say I don't feel the pain of the biological parents? What I don't get is how is it the fault of the adoptive parents that those kids where taken by child services and put up for adoption?

Basically, all I could gather from the trash you typed is that y'all are angry the kids grew up as christians, for feck's sakes the trial was still on when those kids were taken so I ask again, how are the adoptive parents wicked?

You've obviously been blinded by religion to reason logically, its really a pity, smh, abeg shift you have nothing worth reading to type, mscheew.
Your first paragraph describes you. I would be excused to be angry on this matter as a Muslim. what is your own excusehuh

I didnt in any way make claim to the foster parents being wicked. If I was given a christian child to take care of, I would do just as they did, train her the way I want.

My problem with your post was calling people mad. But you are too angry, obviously carrying the world's problem on your head that you fail to realise that.

whatever the case may be, try to cool down next time. It aids the mental faculty.

Islam › Re: Muslim Couple's Children Handed To Christian Parents Based on Suspicion by deols(f):
If the children were christians and the adoptive parents Musls the story would have been different. A muslim would have taught the children to care for their parents no matter the religious difference.

A muslim wouldn't have spoken as their foster mother did. She would have been more compassionte considering the level Islam puts kinship and how strongly it must be kept.
