and looking at the civilised part again, I am beginning to.wonder if being knowledgeable about Islam is against being civilised?

people.make the mistake of thinking they cant go together. I really wont be able to deal with a bush man. He should be knowledgeable and civilised. @least civilised.

2. 'Enough' is subjective.what you think is enough may be different from what others think is enough. In fact, they will more likely go for ones that are knowledgeable 'enough'.

But if you are talking of class difference, or an educational gap, like say, she is a -University graduate and he, a secondary school grad, then her not wanting him can be understandable.

In the same educational strata, I think a Muslim woman would rather have a man with good Islamic knowledge and especially one with the same ideals as she has.

I believe the reasons for that is understandable enough.
One alfa in Nigeria was preaching sometime ago and he said his kind of knowledge(attending Islamic school) is for the hereafter and the other one(going to university...) is for this world. Despite his knowledge of Islam, you can see that his mentality and or thought process cannot be likened to that of someone who has a good professional education and who even understands that her knowledge can be put to good use(jihad). There is no way marriage btwn people like this will work.

There is a brother that is getting the 'I have not made up my mind' yet response on his proposal from one of my relations. How does a brother know whether to look elsewhere or to hang on?

My relation is relatively young, early twenties so i suspect that is what accounts for why she does not want to commit. She is a graduate though.

Could it be that she is not convinced by him and is bidding time until something 'better' shows up?

the 'until someone better shows up' is common. I dislike it to the T and always discourage it. It is very unfair.

The brother should ask her straight up.

Most of the time, a lady assumes he already can tell she's not feeling him and would have known/just figured it out. Him asking her would make it easy for her to say it. Yes or No.

Respect is reciprocal and the oga doctors should really respect their fellow doctors. Everyone is an adult and should be treated as one.

I wonder what they have to gain by not allowing the younger ones get good salaries. I believe many of them have children studying to be doctors too. what is the beef about?
