This falling in love thing is.t as easy as it is being presented.

You could actually have all those limits and still fall strongly in love.

The example tbaba gave of his own exerience doesnt do much to buttress his point IMHo.

If the guy's parents are the ones with the reservation, they may be the last to hear of it and these people could have gone far even with the mahram involved. After all the guy does not need mahram to make his own decision.

I also dont think the conclusion that the guy was in a haram relationship was wrong.

Some form of courtship would still have to occur either way we look at it.

onegig: i used to be of same view few years back. I never liked ladies with the large burka due to the many women i see adorning it but early this year i had one experience that changed this view. Met this lady in one, she talked to me with so much confidence and her diction was awesome. Although i couldn't see her face because she was behind a veiled face.. But her outlook and appearance struck a nerve.. My view about things changed drastically... And wouldn't mind if she does want to be veiled. I guess her fiance needs more exposure. She should talk to him and make him see reason. If he loves and respect her enough he would change his views. I hope he is sincere enough....

another thing is, he might be suffering from a low self esteem. He told her to wear the type that some other women wear or the type some people use in the UK. I doubt that he'll be able to stand to protect his values and family values?

He may actually be more concerned about his friends or colleagues view of the woman he married. This happens a lot. Many want to marry someone they can show off. With her in a big hijab, that is not very possible.
