When you're kidnapped, tell your captors not to pick call from your family/government to negotiate your release.
That's the point. You said family/government.
Who is MACBAN in this regard? As a family member or as a government agency?
@ the bolded, it's not possible.

Dummy, you use whatever avenue available to get the boys back without violence. Using the Army to rescue them would have resulted in many of them dead. Now the govt should go after the captors and make sure they pay for their crimes.
Even the US is now begging and negotiating with the Taliban even though the US doctrine is not never negotiate with terrorists. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do to save lives.
It's only terrorists that knows how to negotiate with terrorists.

PoliticsRe: NIN Should Also Be Synchronised With Voter's Card VIN by DeOTR: 4:13pm On Dec 17, 2020
CodeTemplar:
Biometric data in the hands of private entities is considered safer and arouses lesser suspicion worldwide. Once the govt is involved, the tendency for absolute power to corrupt absolutely is amplified almost immediately and that creates a monstrous problem. Look at how they used CBN regulatory power to frustrate endsars donors. Once the have your VIN tied or linked to your NIN, they can discriminate against those who voted who in election when doing welfare schemes for example so that question of the limit of its use must be properly defined.
There's a way you can hide the real identities of voters in this case, you know?
All the system needs to do is verify the authenticity of the credentials provided, without necessarily exposing it.
That way, you can't actually know those who voted for you or not. You only know the number of votes you have. It's that simple
PoliticsRe: NIN Should Also Be Synchronised With Voter's Card VIN by DeOTR: 10:08am On Dec 17, 2020
Just watch as politicians will keep mum on this.
Don't be surprised they'll be forced to abandoned this policy if the people insist it must include voters card.
PhonesRe: With The NIN Synchronisation In Place, What Happens To Number Recycling? by DeOTR: 8:39am On Dec 17, 2020
seunayantokun:
You have made a valid point. Let me add that our ever-competing telcos recycle numbers to avoid being accused of any form inactivity. If you get on the NCC's website, you'll discover they publish from time to time reports from their monitoring of the networks. So, you see the numbers of active and inactive subscribers on each. No telco wants to be seen as going about with an empty pride in case of a very high percentage of inactive subscription. Also, it is a waste of resources. Plus there may be some sort of regulatory measure against them from NCC.

So, to tackle this challenge, NCC and the telcos have to calm down and think outside the box, if needed. Because the best option is to ensure nobody is allowed to change their phone number: they may have two or three but not more. No number should be recycled without a certificate of death or sufficient acceptable proofs of permanent emigration.

Then NIMC should have and manage a central data pool containing all information on every resident in Nigeria, citizen or foreigner. The information will be coming from CBN and other banks, NIS, NCC and telcos, FRSC, NPC, INEC, and the rest of them that have kept collecting same data from us. So, your number (s) remains yours till death.

The implications and benefits are innumerable including proper registration from birth to death, prevention and easy tackling of crimes and fraudulent practices in all facets of living and governance. Then Nigeria will be ready for paradise experience.

It is not a rocket science; it is doable. But will our criminally minded political leaders do it?
Your politicians are less or not concerned about anything you stated above.

God bless u for ur last comment. I have hammered on it several times but some people don't seem to understand what is going on in Nigeria with all this registration & database they are so bent on collecting all over d place. Something is wrong somewhere. For d minister to be so obsessed with this exercise when telcos are still giving analogue services, shows u there's something else at work. Some naive folks think it's for tracking criminals when d govt hasn't been able to locate d accounts of sponsors of BH despite BVN but they locate d accounts of endsars protesters
Even if they have the data, they won't still know what to do with it.

What aggravated the police to the re-arrest him was the fact that Makolomi brought the attention of the police to another act of unlawful extortion conducted by one SP Sunday Nwaja who requested for N500,000 to grant him soft landing.

lol at y'all grin. Well for one the legality of the first lockdown is questionable but we let it go cos of the situation at hand then. Along the way it became a matter of State government pronouncements, so this time it's going to beg the question 'who/what can lockdown Nigeria' FG or state cheesy. Also I don't believe they(PTF) have the will to lockdown judging by how the false one played out cheesy. They couldn't during our so called first wave, they won't now. They could shut some things down tho (federal schools, interstate travel grin, religious centres) but largely imo it'll be up to state governments. IMO trying to lockdown would be a foolish move by a foolish government.
Well, if implementing another lockdown will those foools at helms of affairs, all they have to do is manipulate daily COVID19 figures, like it's playing out now, to justify it.
Not as if they care if everyone dies or something. Anything to make you believe that there's a lockdown in effect.
Or what do you call this rubbish El-Rufai is doing now? Is it not foolishness?

Are you aware that London is a city that has been in existence for centuries? Are you aware that most parts of London were demolished over the years to give way to modern buildings? There is a difference between reserving a few old buildings (that are well maintained) to serve as monuments or museums as against having a proliferation of rundown mud houses that litter everywhere and deface a town.
You didn't read me well. The entire old City of Baku is left untouched, not few old buildings. Same goes for that of Rome.
My Great Grand Father, Grand Father and Father's houses are still standing in my hometown as I speak. We can only renovate and make sure it's still standing. Demolishing it and building an entirely modern building on the space erase their legacy.
Old houses in the South West should be renovated, but I don't support demolishing them.

Ok, according to you but I'm sure 90% of the people that have been to both cities will not agree with you.
How can you say the roughest part of Ekiti is paradise to Uyo. haba bro, this is the first nonsense have ever heard Man.
Yes Uyo just started developing 2005 I think but that doesn't mean it isn't far better than the eyesore Ekiti you just posted, if I post Uyo pictures now ba, even people go dey ask if this is part of Nigeria. Please don't ever do that again I'm befgin goy
I know Uyo very well and it's beautiful.
Much of Ado are old Town, but they're decent habitations. These are places that have been standing for many decades, probably before the first building with iron sheets in the entire Akwa Ibom state.
Had it been I'm available right now, I would have volunteered to go take pictures of dirty places in Uyo, and you do that of Ado and compare. These are places I know very well.
I repeat, Ado may not be beautiful, but most places that have been there for ages still look decent.

But still Uyo will come first 6 in the most developed Cities in Nigeria. even Ado Ekiti won't near that. You should stop comparing Uyo with your mushroom cities because Uyo is far far better..
Only Abuja and two or four others are probably better than Uyo.
I saw how you also randown Uyo in the other thread you created about but I ( we Akwa Ibomites) Refuse to engage you, we refuse to do that. I dare you, Create a thread and post pictures and Akwa Ibomites will also post Uyo pictures. Pictures of Ado Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun or Kwara and lets post Ibom own let see which is better.
Bro your Cities that are not Lagos and Uyo don't need competition cause Akwa ibom is far better by far. Go dey do all those competitions with the Igbos ok.
don't come and show us your brown roofs..Mtcheeeew
Uyo is a relatively new settlement.
Another point is, everywhere in the country has some beautiful spots.
I've been to all states in Nigeria, so don't and be telling me how Uyo is a paradise, and South Western cities are not. The roughest spot in Ado Ekiti is an Edorado compared to that of Uyo or any City in the entire East.

Kai, there is really a world of difference because the last mud houses in my village were demolished by their owners as far back as late 1980's grin grin grin

Now, you won't even see native doctors living in mud houses here grin grin grin
Even in advanced economies, they still have their old towns. I've been to the one in Rome and that of Baku in Azerbaijan.
So instead of making it stand, you want me to demolish the building developed by my Great Grand Father in the 1880s to prove what exactly?

Ado in particular, and Ekiti in general, are highly populated with beautiful women.

Snakes eat rats, rodents etc. -- thereby keeping pest population down.

They are an extremely important lever in the eco-cycle.

The toxins in their venoms are also used to create some of the medicines used to combat strokes and Parkinson's disease.

This is why scientists always try to do their best to preserve life -- or at least, fight against extinction. They are very aware that in most cases, nature can be used to solve nature's problems.

Unlike the average black man that just kills and eat, and fails to think of tomorrow.
Let all the Snakes relocate to the Labs then.
Snakes eat Rodents, yen yen yen. As if Rodents are entirely useless, other than being a prey to the creepy Reptile.
People kill Snakes because Snakes kill people, not the other way round.
PoliticsRe: Which Parts Of The North Are Christian - Dominated? by DeOTR: 2:40pm On Dec 14, 2020

Thank you very much for reiterating what I have been telling LukasPodolski.
Ilorin of today is around 40% Christian. Most of the new areas of Ilorin (except those around Ilorin old town) are either Christian majority or 50-50.
It is only the old Ilorin town that is entirely Muslim. And the Ilorin of today is far far bigger than Old Ilorin town.

The guy claims Ilorin has a huge population by counting everyone in Ilorin and claiming that they are 90% Muslim. I told him that was tantamount to madness.

Thank you.
That is why I doubted if this so called LukasPodolski was truly from Kwara south. He must be one of the yorubanized fulanis of Ilorin emirate.
Offa that I know has lots of Christian Indigenes.
Ibolo people are a muslim majority people, no doubt, but they have a huge Christian minority.

Also, Nupes in Kwara state are up to 30-35% Christian. Unless you are talking of the Nupes in Niger state. It is those ones who are 20% Christian.
In Patigi LGA, Christians are dragging numbers with Muslims in most towns. It is Edu LGA that is overwhelmingly Muslim.

Meanwhile LukasPodolski is here claiming that Nupes & Barubas are 95% Muslim grin
That guy is a fulani agent of lies proudly repping the Caliphate.
Don't mind him. The guy is an Ilorin man, and a Moslem.
PoliticsRe: Which Parts Of The North Are Christian - Dominated? by DeOTR: 10:23am On Dec 14, 2020
LukasPodolski:
I would love to make a correction on the issue of Kwara state as a BONAFIDE Kwara indigene.

I'm a Christian, but saying that the population of Christians in Kwara is up to 40% is not true.

among the Yorubas that occupies 12 local government area and 2 senitorial district (Kwara South and Kwara central ) + 1 local government govt in Kwara North which is Moro local government.

Kwara South has 7 LGAs (predominantly Yoruba)
Kwara central has 4 LGAs(predominantly Yoruba)
Kwara North has 5 LGAs (but Yorubas occupies one of these five LGAs )

7+4+1 = 12 Yoruba LGAs

the only Christian dominated LGAs are Isin, Ekiti and Oke-Ero (I came from one of these LGAs)
these three LGAs are the smallest in respect to population and Landmass in Kwara state.

Ilorin which is the largest City is 98% Muslim
Offa which is the second largest city is at least 90% Muslim
if you remove these two cities from kwara, then there is nothing left in terms of population.

among the Yorubas of Kwara state, the population of Muslims is 70% while Christians is 30%

now if we add Kwara north(an area which is 90% Muslims, the Nupes and Bariba people), this will reduce the population of Christians in the whole state to 15%-20%)
So Moslems are the majority in Irepodun, Oyun, and Ilemona? Offa is not 90% Moslem. That's a pure lie. For every 10 people from Offa, you'll find at least, 3 Christians.
The Nupes are at least 20% Christians.
Now that's for the indigenes. Based on the population of the state as whole, non-indigenes inclusive, the ratio is almost at par.
Before you respond, I'm also from Kwara and I know every corner in the state. Places you'll probably never step your feet on. Say only what you know.
