PoliticsRe: Nigerians Are Inherently Corrupt--agree Or Disagree? by Depilot(m): 4:37pm On Dec 19, 2007
let us look at russia, north korea, jamaica, honduras, philippines and many other african countries. corruption also exists in these areas, but nigeria happens to be the only country on the map when it comes to corruption. and i think this is so only because something is being done about corruption, nigerians are ready to reclaim their country.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Are Inherently Corrupt--agree Or Disagree? by Depilot(m): 4:31pm On Dec 19, 2007
it is human nature for one to be greedy and greediness is directly linked to corruption. therefore it isn't only nigerians that are corrupt. eventhough the system in a country may support or encourage corruption more than the other but do not forget that every country on this planet consist of corrupt people. even in liberia today corruption still dominates our society and ways of life in general. i think it's all depend on your background, spirituality and morals as human being. instead of saying nigerians are inherently corrupt, it will be better or more appropriate to say human beings are inherently corrupt.
so, i disagree with the topic.
PoliticsRe: If You Were Mr President Today, how Will You Handle Corruption by Depilot(m): 2:19am On Dec 16, 2007
i wasn't trying to knock your proposal, i just thought you sounded gentle and very prudent which will not work in african heavily corrupt societies. at least for now.

PoliticsRe: If You Were Mr President Today, how Will You Handle Corruption by Depilot(m): 11:36pm On Dec 15, 2007
hi mckremn,

your idea seems to be very adequate, but right at this moment this gentleman style will not work well in a society where corruption has eaten deeply through the skin into the bones of our people. corruption is not only embedded in our political culture but embedded generally in our culture in africa from a to z. i'm sorry gentleman approach will be promising but will not be fruitful, our people will find one way or the other to beat the gentleman approach and continue with business as usual. sometimes iron hand intwined with democracy flavor is the only answer and this is what big1's post has.
PoliticsRe: African Countries Should Give The Ladies A Chance To Rule by Depilot(op): 11:13pm On Dec 15, 2007
you can give women a chance by motivating them, getting them involved, allowing them to be themselves. men of africa have shown all that they care about nobody but selves. they've sucked our continent dry. let us try something different, let them rule and i think it will be for better. liberia has never been peaceful and fruitful like this before. i also believe that the west will take the african women more serious than the men who have sold themselves cheaply to the west. it is high time for women to come out of the kitchen and show off their intellectual skill.
PoliticsRe: If You Were Mr President Today, how Will You Handle Corruption by Depilot(m): 1:07pm On Dec 15, 2007
This is simple!
First, I will not get myself involved in any selective or vindictive activities under every circumstance. I will be focused, determined, dedicated and very firmed. I will touch the lives of the very poor Nigerians, I will reshape and solidify the image and pride of Nigeria. My concentration on empowering the children, the future will be incompressible.

Solution to corruption in Nigeria:

I will put together a group of 50 independent delegates from everywhere in Nigeria, with substantial clearances. Their job is to identify each and every government official that stole from 1980 through 2007.
For a successful outcome, names of these individuals will be made confidential. How much each stole will also be determined.

Each individual will be privately contacted; based on how much individual stole, money to be returned back to Nigeria Federal Government will be determined. All identified corrupt individuals have an option to return specified amount of money with absolutely no question or face uncompromised punishment.
Deadline to return this specified amount of money will also be specified.

After the expiration of the deadline, all individual that cooperated will be pardoned immediately by the Federal Government; while the names of the rest that refused to cooperate will be revealed to the public and they will also be severely punished (eg. 20 years in federal prison and all their accumulated properties will be confiscated by the Federal Government).

Finally, our Constitution will be reviewed and revised.
From Oct 30, 2008,  any individual caught engaging in any corruption activities (regardless of the scale) will be executed at his or her home town.

I will also announce vigorously to the entire country that scapegoat is desperately needed.
Guys: That will be the end of corruption in Nigeria; and new Nigeria will be born in a very short period.
Then, we will all witness the real career dedicated politicians, while the business politicians/ business police men will dissolve one at a time

With love, Big B1.
as crazy as big1 may sound, i welcome his presidency in my country.
african countries have been killed and buried by corruption and for one to give birth to a new africa a drastic but reasonable action must be taken.
PoliticsRe: Government Rejects US Military Base In Nigeria by Depilot(m): 10:56pm On Dec 14, 2007
rejection is the key word here. during war in liberia, it took thousands of children to die before america decided to deploy less than 50 military personnel.things would have been different if oil was pouring in the middle of monrovia. america will never get involved in anything unless there is hidden benefit for them. they will not sacrifice a soul for nothing. war in iraq was really a miscalculated search for oil. a base in nigeria for america will be a big mistake. with the presence of oil, they will not know when to leave. i also think that nigeria is seen as a backup just in case things fall apart in middle-east and Venezuela locks up the oil pipe.
PoliticsRe: Liberia: Major Road Building Begins In Capital by Depilot(m): 10:38pm On Dec 14, 2007
vision is the key. only if african leaders could be blessed with clear vision, our continent will be a better place.

No! He was Sunday Gabriel Ehindero, who changed the Police slogan to 'To Steal and Plunder with Inegrity'
hi iykrion,
thanks for the information. now it makes sense. thank god he is no longer in power. i hope real leaders from all over africa step up to the plate and make african continent stronger and a better place for each and everyone of us.
PoliticsRe: Liberia: Major Road Building Begins In Capital by Depilot(m): 7:25pm On Dec 13, 2007
yes indeed, the projects have started. as a matter of fact, the first phase started few months ago. i believe that liberia is heading toward the right direction. i just hope that nigeria, our big brother gets things together real soon. enough of constant looking up to the west and expecting them to rescue us at all time. african countries must establish a brotherly love relationship and assist one another. market within or between african countries must be open and friendly. we should start looking up to one another for support and learn how to solidify the african pride. this is the only way respect will be given to us. we are encouraging african investors all over the world to come on to liberia and show off their muscle. i will rather depend on african establishment than expecting miracle from suckers who do not care about the future of africa. it is also time to get saudi arabia involved and remind them that they also fall into african continent. their attention is required all over africa.
PoliticsRe: Uk Wants To Quiz Adenuga by Depilot(m): 7:07pm On Dec 13, 2007
Not too long ago, President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa sent an impassioned letter to the Nigerian national assembly in defence of MTN. International conventions notwithstanding, serious countries continue to define and pursue their national interests and priorities. Americans are subsidising wheat and impoverishing Third World farmers in the process, the Chinese are collaborating with the Sudanese government in spite of the genocide in Dafur and the Russians have told the West to keep its nose out of their elections. Breaches of the law should not be condoned but the spirit behind the Mbeki example is definitely worth looking at.
very deep conclusion. i hope mrpatakii got to read this one from the newspaper. not to be rude or anything, i'm just curious, mrpatakii.
PoliticsRe: Uk Wants To Quiz Adenuga by Depilot(m): 8:37pm On Dec 12, 2007
hi mrpataki,

if newspaper is the only source you have as you have stated, then you are in real trouble. you will not survive for more than a week in liberia. action speaks louder than inaccurate and for sale stories in most african newspapers. once again, not to be rude, i expected a lot more from you but you seem to be lacking tangible info to back your baseless assumption. During the war in liberia, newspapers all over africa were all incorrect and i learned from then to not always rely on info from the newspaper. like iykrion stated earlier, stop hating, stop the baseless propaganda and allow the man to enjoy what he has spent his life working for. also as per big1's comment to you, you shouldn't turn this into a fight instead you should be more attentive and realize that the man is making the impossible to happen in africa. remember that africa supposed to be a fruitless jungle and a land of deadly disease. we must understand that we are the only enemy africa has and unity is the only hope for us, africans. mighty man mike will be forever cherished in my country despite of what the politicians say. afterall, it is their job the man is getting done.
PoliticsRe: Uk Wants To Quiz Adenuga by Depilot(m): 3:31pm On Dec 12, 2007
hi davidylan,

you can not compare charles taylor to a man who continues to move your country forward through his businesses, great spirit and courageous drive. charles taylor was a leader who is responsible for the death of many. i will take 2million adenugau anytime and anyday. my nigerian clients seem to see things totally different from the way you guys view things. as a matter of fact, few months ago a famous nigerian soccer player admitted to me that if leaders think like mighty man mike nigeria will be a better place for everybody.
PoliticsRe: Uk Wants To Quiz Adenuga by Depilot(m): 3:16pm On Dec 12, 2007
hi mrpataki,

i do not want to sound rude, but have you sat down with adenugua for an interview once in your life. what do you know about the man. i hate speculations, just because the man is not entertaining your stupidity doesn't mean he is a  dubious man. if we have half of his accomplishment in liberia things will be much better for us. in liberia, glo will not only be embraced by all, but will also be seen as the star light of my country. i hope one day a liberian will match the same vision and courage of might man mike. every single companies in liberia is controlled by foreigners and we depend on these people for almost everything. you people do not know what you have. i hope africans will wake up one day and unite as one. destroying one another is more or less destroy the future. i think bill gate went through similar situation few years ago but it did not take too long for america to wake up and fully support this man. they knew chinese and japanese were waiting.

this is a cool forum
PoliticsRe: Uk Wants To Quiz Adenuga by Depilot(m): 2:31am On Dec 12, 2007
i wished Adenugu was from liberia. he would have been a priceless gift that we need badly at the moment.
thank god things seem to be moving smoothly, but with someone like adenugau in liberia, you guys can forget it. even American would be kissing our behind. we call him mighty man mike.

thanks mamajama.

but is ibb the only bad cow in the farm because this is all i've seen on this forum so far. i'm not sure if change will come that quick if people continue to lie to one another. i was told that every single thing in nigeria is corrupt, so how can you solve this problem by only focusing on a retired general who has also been out of the pic for many years.

who was the igp during the last election in nigeria
PoliticsAfrican Countries Should Give The Ladies A Chance To Rule by Depilot(op): 10:20pm On Dec 11, 2007
The men have done us wrong. they dragged the entire africa continent on the dusty floor, they've sold our pride and they just don't care anymore. it is time to give the ladies/ women a chance to rule, let us try something different and new. allow them to show us what they can do to bring back africa. they are our mothers and african mothers are physically and mentally strong, they are very educated and they care.
i believe that female presidents is the answer. together let us give them the power, motivate them, protect them and give them the love they deserve.
Liberia has never been peaceful and fruitful like this for many years.

African countries should give the ladies a chance to rule.

i thought balogum was the igp during obasanjo's time as the president. who is this man and why is he being investigated.

this is a bad idea.
united states wanted to do the same in liberia but did not happen because we refused. and they paid us back when we asked for help during the last war. if nigerians are ready for a real change i think you guys can get this done on your own.

PoliticsRe: How Corrupt Is The Efcc? by Depilot(m): 9:52pm On Dec 11, 2007
since corruption is what is mainly killing most african countries i think efcc you be an african organization. i mean it should be something like UN just for the african countries to oversee all government activities and boycot corruption from every level.
since the control of this efcc will be centralized, i think this organization will function better this way and many african countries will also benefit.
corruption is giving birth to babies every single day in africa.
PoliticsRe: The Toothless General Ibb by Depilot(m): 9:33pm On Dec 11, 2007
why all this abuse for Christ sake
is ibb the only evil in nigeria or the only general to steal or the only president to steal or the only citizen to steal. if you can answer this question, then you will know why people like ibb can not be touched. quit wasting time.
you should come down to Liberia and it will not take you too long to realize that ibb is still a saint in the eyes of many.
In Liberia things are finally coming together because the past is left alone. we don't even care about the outcome of charles taylor's case. According to my understanding every single government official in nigeria is corrupt. not to defend anybody but you guys need to come up with a better way to function rather than calling ibb for everything.

peace.
