Watch the Nigerian naira trade live. Nigeria is going to the polls Saturday to vote in an election that pits President Muhammadu Buhari, who is seeking a second term in office, against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other challengers. But ahead of the election, an error on Google is causing a stir among Nigerians in the Twittersphere. A Google search shows the Nigerian naira to be trading at 184 per US dollar, nearly twice as strong as its actual value of 362. A quick look at the chart, however, shows the currency at the correct value. Google
Still, that hasn't stopped people from excitedly weighing in on Twitter. Twitter/@claudieeyes Twitter/@Raqeem_99 Twitter/Obaabdulqudus Twitter/EbukaChuqz
Twitter/@t_banny This isn't the first time the currency's value has been wrongly displayed on Google. Last March, a similar error occurred, with a Google search showing the naira's exchange rate at 182.16 per US dollar. At the time, it was trading at about 360 per dollar. Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Kingerons: If you attended a Nigerian University, you must have definitely met some if not all of these people in one case or the other.
People You Will Meet In The University
1. The Bookworms
5.0 Or Nothing! These set of people are the ‘SCHOLARS’. All they are concerned about is their studies, getting their First Class and graduating as the best.
Getting a B in a course is like torture to them. They are after the A’s.
2. The Party Freaks
Update!!! These ones are always aware of the hottest and trending parties on campus. They usually upgrade to become party organizers. They are never in school, and when they are, they are advertising one party or the other. Always ready for turn-up.
3. The Politicians
Their major aim from the day they enter school is to be involved in school politics. They are the SUG candidates, Faculty executives, etc. Anywhere and anything concerning politics, you must see them there. They are usually very popular.
4. Borrow Borrow
‘Borrow Borrow make me rich’. These are the set of people you will meet in the university that are always borrowing. They can borrow from money, to books, to cloth and even pot. In short, they can borrow for Africa.
5. Library Customer
You will be sure to always find these ones in the Library. “Baba, Howfar I wan go jack abeg, I dey come”. You can never see them without their backpacks, loaded with books.
6. The sons of Noah

Maromark: Football structure will take blame of 20% but you can't explain the successes of our junior teams that always gets to semis and finals at international level. When it get the senior team we can't even pass group stages. Mikel, kanu where very young and there was progression through the ranks. Where is Chris santus Macaulay? Most of them are old and already in their prime at these junior competitions. If we have young raw talent, Nigeria will benefit no matter the structure. You are referring to events that happened before CAF/FIFA started using MRI to validate players age. Chrisantus Macaurley and his likes played U-17 in 2007, that is 12 yrs ago. Please stay up date on developments like these to avoid making incorrect references. |

This is best way to secure your desired result even if you want draw, score and let your opponent fight you stand still. At this point only a lose can eliminate Nigeria which should not happen in the rest 5-10mins. Which also means Nigeria can Senegal in the semi final until final. Senegal beat Nig in Wafu final at this level last year and they beat Ghana and Mali already without conceding a goal |

In 2003 ASUU was also on strike which lasted for another 6 months. All these period were during Obasanjo/ Atiku era. To add injury to the poor Nigerian students during their time, both Obasanjo and Atiku were selling Nigeria assets to build their private Universities. Atiku can only fool those who don't think straight by promising to end ASUU strike If elected all in the name to win we nigerian student over. Crime › 4 Nigerian Women Lure Dubai Driver With Massage, Steal Dh60,300 Marie Nammour by DeRay98(op): 2:44pm On Jan 28, 2019 |
Four women, who kept a man against his will inside a flat and robbed Dh60,300 from him, were sentenced to six months in jail each on Monday by a Dubai court.
Dubai public prosecution accused the four Nigerian women, aged between 28 and 33, along with other runaway female accomplices, of luring the Nepali man into their flat with a massage advert they had left on a business card along with a mobile number.
However, it was only when he entered the place that he realised that it was just a trick. He was locked in, tied up and subjected to threats of death and physical torture, while being robbed of Dh60,300.
The women were convicted by the Court of First Instance of illegal confinement under intimidation and threats of death and physical torture and forcible robbery. They will be deported after completing their jail terms, the court ordered.
A complaint was lodged on June 10, last year, at Al Rafaa police station.
The complainant, a 33-year-old driver, said that he found a massage card. "I contacted its number on WhatsApp and I was led to a flat. When I got inside, eight African women pounced on me."
The complainant recounted how they locked the door, tied him up and assaulted him. "They took Dh300 from my wallet and Dh60,000 from my pocket. They told me to leave after threatening me not to call the police. The women then fled the place." He identified some of them later at the police station.
A Pakistani security guard said he saw three African women running out from the building at 11pm. "The police arrived shortly after receiving a robbery report. Those women are not residents. One of them, a 31-year-old, had sub-let the apartment to a Nigerian man."
A police corporal told the prosecution investigators that the women were involved in another robbery in which they followed the same modus operandi. "We tracked them down and apprehended them. The victim they had lured through massage adverts identified them among other suspects."
The defendants were also charged in a similar separate criminal case in which they lured and robbed a man.
The defendants can appeal the court ruling within 15 days. Khaleej Times reported |
