A devoted dad has discovered the three sons he had raised for more than 20 years were not his when doctors told him he had been infertile since birth.

Now Richard Mason’s ex-wife has been ordered to pay him £250,000 to him but is allowed her to keep the identity of the real father a secret.

Devastated Mr Mason had no idea he wasn’t the boys’ biological dad until two years ago when he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

The inherited disease prevents male sufferers from fathering children naturally and DNA tests confirmed beyond doubt that he had no biological link to his eldest son, now 23, and his 19-year-old twins.

Mr Mason believes that the same man fathered all three boys during an on/off four-year affair his wife Kate, 54, embarked on in the late 1990s.

But she only confessed to the adultery in 2016, ten years on from their divorce, when he confronted her about the children’s paternity.

It is not known if Mrs Mason’s former lover is aware he is the real father.

The case, reported in the Mail on Sunday today, came to light when Mr Mason launched a legal bid to claw back some of the £4 million divorce settlement his wife received, as well as suing her for paternity fraud.

As a result, two of the boys have since broken off contact with him.

Last night, Mr Mason, 55, a co-founder of internet comparison site MoneySupermarket.com, said that discovering the boys were not his own left his life in pieces.

“You don’t know what’s real and what isn’t – it’s as if I’m living in The Matrix,” he said.

His solicitor Roger Terrell said: “We understand that it’s a legal first because there has never been a divorce financial settlement set aside in such emotive circumstances.”

She agreed and everything is fine.. She's not a beggy beggy slayqueen.. She works with Oando. Lately, I was robbed and my belongings was carted away.. So, I had to use her phone to contact my parents so they can know I am fine until I retrieve my SIM.

Fast forward to yesterday, my mom called and asked me about the "nice girl who has been calling her and sending her massive airtime". I was dumbfounded and just hung up.. I called Lillian and she was all teary on the phone when I confronted her saying "she just wanted to be friendly with her "mother-in-law" blah blah..

That was when I flared up. It was like rubbing salt on an Okada accident wound..

She's been calling and I am not picking.. My mom's been calling too, I guess she's explained the situation to her..

Oh come on. I'm just giving a more general advise about how I think money can be better spent, and I would give that same advise to my own state. When they brought okada and then keke, it was about employing youths. If instead they used that money to just get more security back then, do you think we would have been safer? I doubt it.

There are so many people all over Nigeria who are able to earn money legitimately all over Nigeria because of NAPEP, and so do not resort to crime. I'm simply suggesting that Edo go further and provide more sources of employment, which might be a longer-term solution. That's all.

Mr Sabi sabi, the employed for this security outfit are the ghosts or from other states? If this is not employment what else is it? Most Okada riders were people who had lost their previous jobs, some never had jobs, others were fresh graduates that couldn't find jobs. Are aware that Okada was only banned from major roads and streets due to the high crime rate it was used for? Are you aware of the very high accidents rates with high casualties and the risks they posed because most of rode without caution or care for other road users?

I was born, raised and educated in Benin but presently living outside, I visit Benin twice yearly to spend 2 weeks and I'm impressed by the progress we governor is making and our people at home are happy to see how gradually things are falling in place.
The most noise-makers against Edo are either non-Edo people, people who have never stepped into Edo but hears rumours and they propagate same, the Edos who shout their voices hoarse against our govt are mostly people who used to participate is sharing our money into their private pockets which is no longer same and life is hard for them now. They are thrive in chaos by doing dirty jobs for useless politicians but not anymore. Others are former Agberos who used to feed on other people's sweat by intimidation and bullying but not anymore except perhaps other cities or towns outside benin, Agberos have contained in Benin and they are not happy.
Make una leave Edo for Edo people, our gonernor is working and gradually help our people to change their mindset...

No need to insult on her points there are parents who complaining while parents use to keep their safe in school while they hustle.
However, what's missing in her comparison between then and now is that, back then, fathers earned enough wages to provide for their even larger families than now. Fewer mothers went to work as a vast majority were full time housewives hence their only pre-occupation was child rearing all day. Children were safer in their neighborhood as many mothers were around, kidnapping was not such a business etc
Nowadays, the exact opposite is the case.

I'm so sad for all those who have been bamboozled into stupid believe that a 70+ years old man can be cloned at his present age is evidence that PDP and Nnamdj Kanu have successfully messed up the minds of too many Nigerians.
It shows that all the believers in the stupidity think that cloning is equivalent to Photocopying by Rank Xerox. Funny enough if it's only those educated in Nigeria universities that believe this theory I would have just concluded that it's due to poor educational standards in recent years. The problem of Nigerian health care system is incompetent Medical doctors running our system.
When Akunyili a pharmacyst was appointed as DG of NAFDAC, NAFDAC attained global recognition for its fight against fake drugs in Nigeria. When she left NMA fought and push Medical Doctor there Dr Orhii, a Vet doctor. In less than 5yrs before he left, NAFDAC staff had gone on strike up to 3 times, the agency had become a shadow of its self.
Every Minister of Health and DG in the ministry of health must be a medical doctor, every state health commissioner must be and is a medical doctor. Every health advisory committee in any state, NASS, Senate must be and is a medical doctor. Why is the system not working?
When Mrs Buhari exposed the state of the Aso Rock hospital without Panadol inspite of the Billions budgeted for it, did we hear the Health minister say a word?
Junior medical doctors are been lied to by their seniors in public health care administration but the juniors have no idea that their Ogas in the profession are the enemies of the society, that they are unquestionable and answerable to no one.
They have no idea or are ignorant of the schemes they Professors in admin use to divert public funds int their own private use or hospital?
look out our govt hospitals, you should ask if they have directors administering those institutions and who they are.
They keep telling everybody that govt is not funding the system enough, what do they do with the little funds they get? Who advice govt on funding health care, who approves health care budgets in NASS and Senate? With those committee headed by medical doctors, why are they not able to mobilize these legislative house to force the executive or they increase the health care budget?
Are we not aware that Senate is headed by a medical doctor (Dr Saraki), are we not aware of how they pad budget for their so-called constituency projects or arm-twist the executive to increase their budget or no approval of budget?

However, I insist that this current Falcons side needs a complete overhaul. I have never watched a poorer Falcons side (and I’ve watched them since 1991).

It is either we SACK this clueless Denerby foreign manager and recruit a better one or we retain him BUT disband this squad and keep only about 4-5 of them. Quite a lot of our players are old, slow, and lack basic football skills.

The Cameroon ladies were far better, fitter, stronger, passed far better, and were far more purposeful in all sections of play than us; but only lacked finishing.

Good luck in the finals.

We have qualified for the 2019 World Cup in France already with this evening’s result BUT we should not disgrace ourselves there with THIS current squad!!!
