Oga, The simple question is :WAS THERE ANY MARRIAGE BETWEEN PERO AND INNOCENT IDIBIA? If there was any,(Traditional, Court or any recognized by law) let us know. Marriage is not about assumptions. It's a deliberate thing. babaolofin: |
No mind them. I would have ignored them but to carry those nonsense come Church, which is supposed to be a ground and pillar of truth, vex me Munzy14: |
Kindly oblige us with the part of Yoruba land you are talking about. Besides, so they are married because he considered them married? wirinet: |
I wonder where they get those ideas from. That's how some women will be telling us who men are. That you are a womanizer doesn't mean other men are. I remember a Sunday school session some years ago, where someone said women aren't moved by sight and that all men are moved by naked women. Imagine? I stood up and reminded them that a man will only be moved when he sees what he's interested in and craves for . Even some womanizers would be turned off if they see some naked women. Again, it's an illusion that women aren't moved by sight. People go just read one book and wee just be parroting falsehoods Munzy14: |
But this Papa funny o... Na so marriage dey happen? She said he loves him and he said he "wanted to" marry her. Is that equal to marriage? Wetin people don turn marriage to, I no understand again. If he was married to your daughter and you watched him marry Annie with pomp and fanfare... No complaints? |
Hmmmn.. It's easy to call him a fool but do you think you know what's happening more than Uduak? I don't support him disowning the sister but I believe it's a subtle message. Did you read him saying "no one should contact me about the issue"? He must have spoken to the sister in private but Annie would have disregarded him.Prolly because she has "arrived" or she's the one feeding him. She must have told him to leave her and treated him as nobody (as many have dubbed him here on NL). The guy, like many men with ego, decided to dissociate himself from the "goddess" that provides for him. Two things I perceive 1.He wants her to know he can be independent and 2. he doesn't support her actions Away from that, Principled men don't personalize things. If they believe, for example, that it is wrong to do something; they'd never bend the rules because you are their brother, sister, townsman etc. frankson1: |
Na wa for you o. So is Tuface a Yoruba man?Or is he legally married to Pero? Imagine, she's entitled to EVERYTHING he has as a babymama. Stop misleading people abeg. If this is truly Yoruba culture, there'll be no need for marriage. Just get pregnant for a random guy and be automatically called his wife. RiyadhGoddess: |
So much debate... I know it may be unethical for him to spill the beans. However, I know the man can no longer be silent seeing the wanton killing enabled by a government that swore to protect us. He sure knows more than what is published and reported. He knows the implications of coming out to say what he said. What he said is no secret to many observers. The government is only embarrassed that he came out to say what he said. How can any normal human support what is going on in Nigeria? For those talking about authorization to say what he said, how is he different from our public servants, Buhari inclusive, who would do things without recourse to the rule of law? Why won't they lead by example? I don't worry much about the massive corruption in government but WHY THE KILLINGS AND LIES? I think more brave Nigerians would still speak up. Things won't continue this way. Imagine ,Wasting lives because of religion. Kudos Prof. Olawunmi, you've just shown patriotism. You owe Nigerians the truth even if it means dying. You, for me, are a real soldier who isn't afraid to die for a just cause. Not those Cowards lying and protecting killers of those who they promised to secure. |
As much as i pity the guy, I see the futile attempts by some people to defend homosexuality. Someone even said he/she wants to educate us. First, Homosexuality is abnormal NO grammar can change that. Besides, asking for people to tolerate abnormalities as norms makes it more dangerous. It is confusion and unnatural for a lady to desire sexual intimacy with another lady. Same for a man to burn with lust towards another man. Let's just oblige those who see their genes as the culprit. They claim they were born that way. OK.. If you were born with a tumor, would you choose to live with it all your life when you can get help and have it removed? Or If you discovered very early in life that you have the urge to steal. Will you resign to "fate" and say I WAS BORN A THIEF? All the story of THAT IS HOW I WAS BORN is a lie. There's is usually a wrong exposure to sex which leads to unhealthy sexual cravings. I don't want to bring in the spiritual angle...Because sexual desires can be unnatural too. Just as you can't explain how a guy with a beautiful wife would be seduced by an ugly and dirty prostitute. If something is telling you that you are homosexual , never agree with it. If you find yourself struggling, then you need help. Psychological counseling won't help... Trying to rationalize it won't work either. Cry to God to help you. Many who were trapped in homosexuality have been helped. Jesus is the way out. STRUGGLES INDICATE YOU NEED HELP... |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz9uAP3Y-mg After watching this interview, my respect for Gov.Ortom quadrupled. It takes courage and selflessness to speak the truth. I noticed the interviewers couldn't ask much questions because it was obvious Ortom was saying the truth. I mean, it will take a heartless individual not to be moved by the ordeal of Benue people. Imagine, They even prevented him from seeing Buhari. One thing that humans easily forget is that NO MAN can boast of living till the next 60seconds. If you like carry AK-47 or be President, You can't add one minute to your life. No Man is God. |
LilMissFavvy:I'm glad you know the Truth. However, as believers in Christ, do your part even if the other hasn't started. God rewards obedience and will definitely deal with the other party. Bible aside, it's easier to win a man with your submission than him winning you over with his love. Love no be beans o. Hope you know the woman isn't exempted from loving the husband too? The Love demanded from the man is at the level of Christ for the Church. Not all those romeo and Juliet ting |
onlyhope:Agreed they know what they are doing but telling them the tools and framework used should be enough. If you want to test him along his claims you are welcome but which one be "gerrout" because hin no show dem the codes? Employers should learn to value budding developers and stop acting like everything depends on them. An amiable and smart employer can easily get those codes and more from the guy. One thing you forgot to add to why jobs are "surplus" abroad is that they value you before your services. |
onlyhope:Hmmn...but did you read where he said "...application and the codes" If they love his work, why not employ him first? Or better still give him a similar task to see if he can do what he claimed is his. |
Funny you... I wonder why "U.K or whatever" is the standard for some people. Why won't you be a standard for them? Though, we are not here to debate countries but some Londoners would gladly work for some Nigerians domiciled here. Do I expect everyone to understand what I wrote? No kingxsamz: |
Kikikiki...You have a point but that's just a small piece of the puzzle. Technology or not, you cannot wipe out Israel. I'm sure you know that Israel won't be saved because of their technology? PotatoSalad: |
You think other countries don't have intelligent thinkers? You think they are not researching to wipe out Israel? Oga, it's not just book, determination, or research. There's an insight and a spiritual backing. There is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding... Job 32:8-9 The spirit controls the physical bro. Are we saying people shouldn't work or think? No. But you must realize there are some solutions you can't get from school books or human experience. Many innovations don't start with piecing things together. The inventors have seen things that their peers can't see and considered impossible. Even Those terrorists trying to islamize Nigeria don't just depend on their guns. Those terrorists would be defeated not because we have guns but There's a God who rules in the affairs of men. What do you think would happen if Shekau , if he's still alive, wakes up one day mad and decides to detonate a bomb so that all his fellow jihadists would go and meet the promised 72 virgins? That of course is beyond technology. Boko haram as it were, is a product of an Islamic ideology. For them, it's a spiritual duty. Summary, Technology is a product of science. Science is simply organized knowledge. If your spiritman is sick, it'll affect your knowledge and technology. We have intelligent lunatics but are we safe with them? Finally, Man is more of a spirit.. The earlier we get that, the better for all of us. PotatoSalad: |

ibedun:You can make your point without calling his/her uncle useless. |
Imagine someone talking about why we must take beef and milk from them as if others can't import better breeds and rear them down south. What's the big deal about ranching in the North? Can't grasses be grown there? Most of these problems are avoidable but some just want to spill blood. You need not tell us about why we must take beef. People rear goats, snails, fish and can survive if you don't disturb their farms. It's annoying for someone to be telling another freeborn what he MUST eat as if we are in an Emirate Asylum. I know there are wonderful Fulanis but I think the violent ones amongst them are those with the agenda of Uthman Dan Fodio and they have their accomplice in the South who don't see anything wrong in the massacre of innocent lives just because you want to islamize Nigeria. If it's not wickedness, do you need the whole length of Nigeria to rear cattle? Unfortunately, the outcome will surprise them all. |
Bros, that's a nice initiative BUT would you play Second half before playing the first? The RUGA idea must be resisted first, then if they need to graze down south, then that can come up. I don't understand how people value cows more than human lives. olawonder: |
HappyPagan:Not Just your heart...the fruit of your repentance is equally important. The outside gives us a snippet of what's inside. |
Well said bro. But the issue here is beyond opportunity for Nigerian techies, it's about the breach of the freedom of speech verging on empty pride and personal vendetta.Don't be surprised with this attitude, they'd ban Nairaland too. Concerning insecurity we know Buhari can't solve what he is supporting. He pretends not to know what to do. Unemployment? That one pass dem. Born2conquer: |
Why you dey wonder?Every Bible believing Christian knows how to identify a true prophet. It's not a big deal. It's not about rivalry, it's discernment. Popularity means nothing, the truth is what matters. CardiNice: |
Friend, clear your mind.I already told you what I'm addressing- if a pastor can be a freedom fignter.I think it was you or somebody who asked for an example in the Bible. So, why moving the goal post now? I'm not particular about any pastor persay, just saying that they are nonviolent freedom fighters. And who told you I don't listen to their preaching or read their tweets? Truth is most tweets have nothing to do with what we are discussing now. I don't like to discuss about pastors' shortcomings in public fora except it's a Christian forum or when we meet. Many of them take correction and adjust when they see scriptures. If this had been a Christian forum, there are some home truths I would have stated but I can't do that here. All I want you to know is a pastor can be a freedom fighter but not like Sunday Igboho or MNK. Concerning proverbs 31:9 , I only wanted you to see that it's not only directed at kings as it were but to people who have capacity to help the oppressed. If God has brought you to prominence, it's for a purpose. Never look the other way when you see oppression EXCEPT God ask you to be quiet at the moment. Just like giving is the natural thing to do as a believer but there are rare occasions where you may be restrained. Image123: |
I think I now get where you are missing it. You think I'm saying they should lead riots.Nah If they are tweeting and speaking against oppression, then they are engaged in what I'm saying. Just to be clear, I thought the issue is whether a pastor can be a freedom fighter? I said YES provided he is using nonviolent means and what he is saying is truth not lies or propangadas. Besides, who told you Proverbs 31:9 only addresses kings? You can as well say that the verse that spoke about strong drinks only addresses kings too. I don't want to bring in the dimension of believers being kings and priests. Suffice it to say, it is evil to keep quiet when evil is holding sway .Why did the Bible say "have nothing to do with unfruitful works of darkness...rather reprove them"...(Ephesians 5:11)? A Christian should never support evil or oppression in anyway. A pastor shouldn't do less. Image123: |
I was thinking we can reason but it's clear you are full of assumptions. Pastors are not my problem, get that clear. Like I said, learn to understand what is being discussed before contributing. To remind you what was being discussed before you started talking about another thing. The issue is can a pastor be a freedom fighter? That I have answered with an emphatic YES. Relax, and learn to interact even if you disagree. You just said I never answered your questions. If I may ask, why assume what you can't substantiate? The only thing for you about patriotism is getting PVC and following a DJ ? So a 10year old can't be patriotic?Or a sick old man who couldn't get his PVC with all the attendant stress can't be patriotic? Or Nigerians in the Diaspora can't be patriotic? I want to believe you are smarter than this. If you forget everything I just replied, NEVER FORGET Proverbs 18:13 OLORIPAPA: |
Have you ever read Proverbs 31:9 ? Jesus was to fulfill why He came so He focused on that. There's no part of the scriptures that says we shouldn't defend the weak. There are nonviolent means of doing this. I don't want to delve into the spiritual, which is more important. But Do you know that when a man is free spiritually, he tends to have a sound mind? What do you think would happen when you have Christians who understand that " they rather obey God than man" and they are asked to disobey God by a wicked ruler? To boot, if you have learned pastors amongst them, do you think he'll do well to keep quiet when he knows he can fight with the law? Sit down and obey especially when you know the repressive law would enslave many? My brother, amongst other things we are the Light of the world - we should also be involved in the translation of men from darkness to light. We are to fight darkness and enthrone righteousness howbeit not with Violence. You can not be privileged as a believer and cultists are oppressing people under your watch and you won't do stand up. Summary, God empowers us not solely for ourselves but to help others.Pastors are not exempted. As leaders they should guide their followers.Teach them to be followers of good and not bad. On the flipside, Pastors feeding their congregation with the true Word to liberate their spiritman, is preparing them for freedom. These ones in turn go out and replicate freedom. If we have enough free people in the society, oppression will be harder to effect. That way, God has used these thought leaders called pastors to fight oppression. That's why I believe they should be freedom fighters. No one is blackmailing anybody, it's a natural thing to do like eating when you have food and you're hungry. You can decide to fast or abstain from food when God asks you to. In the same vein, pastors can decide not to especially when God ask them not to. THEY ARE, like other Bible believers, to defend the weak. I'm not talking politics,I'm talking about righteousness, what is right. Image123: |
Very funny question. Anyways, I'll attempt it. Believing affects your reasoning and interaction with others. One who believes in God is one who fears God and he's more likely to be humane and accountable. Hence, he'd positively affect those around him unlike the godless atheist who lives for himself and believes there's no hereafter. To borrow your word (from your initial post I quoted), he's not different from an animal who thinks about sex, amongst other selfish pursuits. Summary, How one leads his life would elicit what people would say about you.The memory of the righteous is blessed but the name of the wicked will rot. sunshineV: |
Friend, People only talk about important things. Do you know how many people die in a second Besides, there are many who don't even know those who say there's no God.Why? It's unthinkable and so foolish. When such people die, they believe nobody died. sunshineV: |
You don't need to assume. When you ask questions, wait for an answer. It's sometimes better to be mum than voicing an opinion that is off tangent. Where in my post did I say that I put my hope in pastors? And if DJ Switch or DJ Cable is your role model, why should I adopt her as mine? It's your type that make people think young people can't reason. Learn to appreciate issues before contributing. You could as well ask me to join touts and urchins fighting during an unrest to prove I'm a freedom fighter. A case of comparing Apples and oranges. OLORIPAPA: |
There are many terms defined to suit certain situations by certain groups. That said, A freedom fighter is basically one who is against oppression and may resist it via violent or nonviolent means.Simply Put, freedom fighters fight for freedom. The Early disciples were not violent but were "nonconformists" to what would oppress or enslave others. All they preached was for men to know of the freedom purchased at Calvary by Jesus and man's redemptive rights. Christians would suffer wrong but No Christian (Christ's disciple) would keep quiet when others are oppressed especially when he/she can speak or do something for the oppressed. Image123: |
I disagree that pastors are not freedom fighters. In fact, they are the biggest freedom fighters just that they won't behave like Sowore, Nnamdi KANU or Igboho. Concerning the last election, you know what happened -except you weren't in this country OLORIPAPA: |
