Kingsley1000: my brother...let not sell our votes, this's our future...dnt be influenced by apga_fidelity bank thugs.vote for d best man.
I had rather throw my vote into Imo River than cast it for a man who stood akimbo laughing while his kinsmen were treated like dogs by a member of his party who is tribally indebted to another tribal icon named Obafami Awolowo. Ngige could not even cough to clear his throat talk less demand a redress.

Abagworo: You people should relax. While you are busy planning how to zone Governor Owerri, Okigwe, Mbaise or wherever have you ever pondered to think about the communities that make Imo wealthy. In 2019, the Governor has to come from Oguta or Ohaji/Egbema or are we not part of Imo State? I'll be ready to contest then.
If your memory serves you very well, you should remember Okorocha did not win in Oguta LGA. The election in Oguta and some parts of Ohaji/Egbema LGA remains inclusive till today. It very unfathomable behavior as people from Orlu zone always take Ohaji/Egbema LGA as part of Orlu zone. The fact that Oguta, Egbema and Ohaji were once a local government does not make Ohaji/Egbema LGA an Orlu zone entity

B2 mario: My dear please spare me with this issue of govt job creation, let the man just creat enably environment for industries to thrive, industries will look for imo state not imo state looking for them and by such creating employment for the citizens. Govt of china, germany and USA did not create employment by building industries rather they set up their perspective plans and integrated private sectors in its implementations, today almost 80% of their workforce are employed. India and malaysia are taking the step also. The shell and other oil companies even the MTN and other telecommunication companies that are providing employments in nigeria today were they created and own by nigerian government? The only things we need is improvement in education just like china did, improvement in power sector and in general environment and you will see industries trooping in. And another thing is for government to subsidise interest rate so that loans can be easily obtained for youlths who want to establish a small/medium industry or venture into large scale commercial agriculture. I cant advice government creating jobs because people dont take any govt owned business serious. Compare govt owned hopitals and private owned ones even universities and you'll understand what i mean. The issue of job creation should be left for private sectors. The only good job govt can creat is civil service.
Are you kidding me about Rochas Okorocha creating enabling environment for industries to strive? Is he not the same governor who would want to know the LGA a prospective industrialist hails from before talking issues?
Politics › Re: What Has Rochas Done With The 211Billion Loan+Federal Allocation+13% Derivation? by DerideGull(m): 5:59pm On Oct 09, 2013
B2 mario: continuation.......
We all know that no good govt establishes company rather it creates the enabling environment for industries to thrive as mbakwe did in Aba by setting the pace.

They said that Rochas dont care for the poor but he is the person that gave them free education to all level which the formal governor said it's not obtainable in any part of the world (the free education alone is enough to give him passmark), sowed school unforms free for their children, buy school sandals and bags for them, pay them small money, shared indomie, kerosene and bags of rice during christmas periods to the same people that claimed that he doesnt care for the poor.

Before Rochas emergence, many imo primary and secondary school blocks were dilapidated but now the story has changed, he has now built attractive blocks for imo schools.

In terms of infrastructure some group of officials from SE gave Rochas the best performing governor. So people that are saying that anybody that praises rochas is blind please can you tell us just one area Rochas failed apart from telling us what oppositions wrote about him or saying unemployment(tell us what you see not what you heard). No state in nigeria is creating employment today, they only provide the resources (eg land) and create the enabling environment, so why should a right thinking person used unemployment to discredit Rochas. Have they used it to discredit fashola, chime, akpabio, oshomole, amaechi, imoke, aliyu, lamido, obi etc?.. Or you want him to sack the existing civil servants so that you can work.

Anyone who said that anybody that praises Rochas is blind should check his/herself very well because he/she is not only being blind but also having a psychical disorder, how can a God fearing person criticise or judge his fellow man based on falsehood he got from net not from the right source or what he sees on ground while in his mind he knows that the person is doing his best to please him.

Initially his critics were saying that he cant do most of the things he promised but when he gave free education and started building roads and monuments they resorted saying that he's using huge amount of loans to embarked on these projects and mind you, most of the highways Rochas is dualising are federal roads which federal government must tomorrow remit back the money used for these projects into imo account as they did in the case of anambra and rivers state. After the coming of EFCC to imo state to scrutinise and probe Rochas government, the issue of debt is now fading away, the critics now resorted to failure of the administration towards provision of pipe borne water which currently, no state in nigeria even the almighty Abuja and Lagos has running pipe borne water since majority of nigerians prefer good borehole. But i respect Rochas sense of maturity, when he told them that he has privatized water sector. Even NDDC that tried providing water to some parts of its member states, was it not borehole they sank in all those places but manpower-use?.

But how could these same people mentioned pipe-borne water while they were the people saying that Rochas is confused and that his govt is in MOTION BUT NO MOVEMENT that he wants to touch everything so that imo will see him as a working governor. That he should concentrate on one and leave others. Now these people want the same confused person to add another problem on his already existing problems, please these critics should leave this man alone because he'll not die for them. The criticism is no longer constructive but boring. And such criticism cant make one to work rather it will kill his moral for work.

Two of my friends from orlu zone told me not to border myself about the criticism that even the critics know that Rochas is working and will win again if he wants to contest. But they are waiting for either owerri zone or okigwe zone, that their major problem is to confirm the main critical zone as they have confirmed mbaise and have swore that no mbaise man will rule imo as far as orlu zone is concerned that they still want to confirm others, so let them see how 6 or 9 LGAs can compete with 12LGAs.

They said that if the critics are coming from owerri zone that means after Rochas okigwe must complete its 2nd term before the seat will go to owerri and if the person that will emerge wants to run for 2 terms no problem. But if it is coming from okigwe that means okigwe will never smell that seat again as it is the least zone in the state, and if it is coming from both zones that means everybody will vote for his own and orlu will always take the mantle as it has the highest number of LG and the highest population even if okigwe combine with owerri that orlu will always win.
One of the major problems facing Nigerians is intellectual laziness. It has led to lack of critical thinking. My grandfather told me to always watch out for individual distributing yams to people but does not have single yam ban. I would have loved for the poster of above crap to give us peripheral view of Rochas Okorocha method of wealth accumulation that instigated the so-called philanthropic largesse accredited to Rochas Okorocha.

There was a time in Igbo cultural etiquette when a child is given something he/she did not expect, he/she will pose a question requesting to know whom the gift is intended.

The little I know about Rochas Okorocha, he is just a petty criminal. It is idiocy to claim Rochas Okorocha gave “free education” when federal government had established UBE while Rochas Okorocha was in Jos as used-car salesman. I still can not see the roads constructed under Roachas Okorocha’s administration. If you talk about building idiotic iron-gates and concrete arches in/around Imo State, Rochas Okorocha takes the lead because he learnt such crap during his sojourn in northern region of Nigeria.

You and pal should be worried if any rogue from Orlu zone will ever step foot in government house in Owerre. Do not worry about Mbaise because it is an entity within Owerre zone.

shachris03: There is only 1 fact and 1 fact alone. Nigeria can NEVER be divided through a round table gentleman National conference. You quoted South Sudan, but do you know how many years of war and bloodshed that took even before it was ever made possible? And also not that sudan is not as complex and ethnically versed as Nigeria is. All what Jonathan is trying to achieve is to relax an unduly heated polity. He just want to keep politicians busy so he can have more free time to devote to his 2nd term agenda. And he is already achieving that. Northern Leaders have had another cause to convene rather than Jonathan 2nd Term. They are now going all over the place, hyper ventilating about the so called national Conference. Trust me, brother, the only thing that would come out of this conference is a barrage of committee.
At least, the round table gentleman National conference will engender pointing of fingers which will in turn heat up the polity and expose the vulnerability of certain sections hence embolden undiscerning onlookers to become curious. I guess you know where curiosity could lead.

The governor of Kano state, Musa Kwankwaso, is desperately idiotic and intellectually barren. What unity is the moronic Musa Kwankwaso talking about? Musa Kwankwaso is twisted creature that sustained policies which suggested Kano State is for Muslims alone.

It is very unfortunate a person who could not guide third graders through a civic class was elected governor of state. The primary function of national assembly is to create laws. National policies are formulated by the presidency. SNC is within the scope of such national policy.

I guess this funky fool represents the core characteristics of the Seven (7) PDP governors that claimed to have decamped from PDP. In fact, PDP does not need vacuous dunderheads such as Musa Kwankwaso.

TeaParty: The governor of Kano state, Musa Kwankwaso, has kicked against the proposed national conference and noted that the conference will only amount to a waste of time and resources, even as many Nigerians applauded the national conference initiative as announced by the president.

During a media chat in Hausa, broadcast live on some radio stations in Kano, northwest Nigeria, governor Kwankwaso also explained that the conference is not only unconstitutional but would create disunity among Nigerians.

He pointed out that members of the two chambers have the constitutional mandate to deliberate on national issues and take action accordingly.

It will be recalled that the Senate President David Mark threw his support for the proposed national conference after the President’s Independence day broadcast, where the he stated that an advisory committee will be set up for the conference where sensitive national issues will be addressed.

Italiano1: Full of lies indeed and it shows how dishonorable and unprincipled Ashebe was as a human being!

@ Dedemoron

Instead of referring to everyone that has an opposing view to yours as a dingbat- perhaps you could try read and use your brain to objectively decipher between the truth and falsehood.

In my opinion, the most pertinent part of Odia's article is:

It would require a major somersault in logic to make this look like a vote for the secession of any part of Nigeria. Actually as early as August 1966, on his being reprieved from his ten year imprisonment, Awolowo had made a speech in which he said: “The breaking up of Nigeria into a number of sovereign states would not only do permanent damage to the reputation of contemporary Nigerian leaders but would also usher in terrible disasters which would bedevil us and many generations to come.” To contort such a speech in favour of secession belongs to a vaulting refusal to see no reason that is not pro-secession. To insist however that Awolowo encouraged the Igbo to secede actually insults the intelligence of the average Igbo. The implication is that after the pogrom of 1966, it required an Obafemi Awolowo, whether as a goad or quarry to hearten the attempt at secession. It is close to saying that they thought of an alternative that was different but had to bow to Awolowo's, an old enemy's, prodding. This may be the picture that many Biafrans liked to have of themselves. Those who think the Igbos deserve a better picture of themselves may be called names. But it does not change the score.

Politics › Re: INTERVIEW: Why We Killed Ironsi And Installed Gowon — Rtd Gen. Jeremiah Useni by DerideGull(m): 5:20pm On Oct 03, 2013
The federal structure that existed in Nigeria at independence was dismantled by sectional and sentimental politician from one of the regions. While the Army and Navy were "under the general authority" of the Defense Minister in matters of "command, discipline and administration", the authority for operational use and control was vested in the Council of Ministers and the Prime Minister. President Azikiwe and the service chiefs were so advised by the Chief Justice and Attorney General of the Federation. Thus the Navy Commander, Commodore Wey politely told the President that the Navy (under him), the Army (under Major General Welby-Everard) and the Police (under Louis Edet) had decided to refuse his orders. After a week of cliff hanging tension, in which the military stood aside, a political compromise was eventually reached and a government of "national unity" formed under Prime Minister Balewa.

In the US Diplomatic Archives: Nigeria 1964-1968, the situation was characterized in this manner: "Very complicated African politics, in which tribes, religions and economics all play a part, are involved in the situation. The Northern Premier is at odds with the Eastern Premier in whose region large oil deposits have been discovered. In the heat of the election campaign, there have been threats of secession by the east; threats of violence "that would make Congo look like child's play" from the north...” At the same time, strong rumors of an impending Army coup purportedly planned for the annual Army Shooting competition were also heard in political circles. But the status quo held, albeit temporarily. Army Stand-by during the Western regional Election of October 1965 which led to a breakdown of law and order. Political pressures and recrimination resulting from this exposure finally cracked the façade of political neutrality among some officers exposing deep personal, ethnic, regional and political schisms in the process.
