Why are you so myopic that you see things only from your own perspective? You want to hold unto these people because they are your "relatives ", you fail to see that these people also have relatives in parts of Nigeria you don't consider Biafra that they too want to hold unto. The end result is that you hold unto them, they hold unto Nigeria, and you end up being dragged into Nigeria.
Common sense dictates that the sooner you let them go. The faster you untangle yourself from the encumbrances that tie you to Nigeria.
Think. Bro do let the draconian boundary adjustment initiated for one reason and one reason alone which is to destroy Igbo land and make sure their neighbors also feel distanced from the cultural affinity with Ndigbo. Papanwamaikpe: It is our responsibility to educate the Young Yoruba that the argument around Biafra is nothing other than a fraud.
These are Yoruba speaking areas: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, part of Kwara and Kogi, Akoko-Edo and Itsekiri. Almost all the Young Yoruba will be glad to see these areas declared as Oduduwa Republic or Yoruba Region.
But if the Igbo speaking areas of Abia, Imo, Ebonyi, Anambra and Enugu States, plus the Aniocha part of Delta State and Ogba, and Ikwere areas of Rivers State are grouped together as Igbo nation or Igbo Region, almost all the Young Igbo would reject it. They don't have a shoreline, and natural resources, thus they want Edo, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Efik and Ibibio as part of their imaginary Biafra.
There is no Igbo man or woman, dead or alive, who wants Igbo to opt out of Nigeria. Biafra is an emotional blackmail on the part of the Igbo to continue to live, work and get an education in Yorubaland without paying the appropriate prize.
Young Yoruba must appreciate the fact that the only circumstance under which the Igbo will support the break up of Nigeria would be if Edo, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Ogoni, Efik and Ibibio are part of their Biafra. If otherwise, they want Nigeria to remain a unitary state just like the Hausa/Fulani.
Young Yoruba must think like the white in America and the English in Britain. We must #ThinkYorubaFirst and be ruthless against all our enemies. Our enemies are those who do not want Nigeria to break or be restructured along ethnic nationalities. And these are Igbo and the Hausa/Fulani.
If the white in America can prevail over the black and Hispanic and the English can prevail over the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish, the Yoruba will prevail over the Igbo and the Hausa/Fulani as long as Nigeria remains a going concern. This isn't close to racism or tribalism, but about self-preservation.
The Yoruba is the majority in terms of the population of Nigeria at 25%; Yoruba contributes 49% of Nigeria's income and 80% of Nigeria's GDP. We cannot afford to be held down by the Hausa/Fulani or the Igbo. If the writer above junk is a Yari.ba, it is safe to say vehemently that Yari.ba is not even more educated than Hausa. I guess the silly One-Nigeria crap has given some goons the false sense of existence. If the shithole called Nigeria will suddenly disintegrate today, those touts with false sense belonging will seriously dialogue for a square meal. One glaring idiocy being espoused by these goons from certain section of the cesspit called Nigeria is been arrogated as the final arbiter of where the Igbo land starts and ends. Please occupy your silly selves with delineated boundary lines of Oodua Republic and leave Republic of Igbo land to the rightful citizens. |

Yes, it is not a criteria for admission into a university in Anambra, but Igbo is still a mandatory part of General Studies courses, which are compulsory in the state owned institutions in Anambra. Do not say what you do not know! As a Yari.ba peep, do you have a ward in the schools in Anambra or Imo State? LaudableXX: You conveniently ignored the fact that Igbo is a compulsory part of mandatory courses like General Studies, in state-owned tertiary institutions in Anambra and Imo. You also ignored the fact that Igbo is compulsory in all state-owned primary and secondary schools within Anambra as well as Imo, and students will not be promoted to the next class if they fail Igbo, no matter how high their scores are, in English, Maths, Physics, Biology and other core subjects.
If Lagos state has decided to make a credit pass in Yoruba language part of its admission criteria into tertiary institutions, why don't you opt for a federal institution, where the law does not apply? Why are you wailing over this issue when alternatives exist nationwide?
There is absolutely nothing unconstitutional about the law. The Lagos State House of Assembly is simply trying to preserve the cultural heritage of the state, and its indigenous language. You did not wail about "unconstitutionality" or rant about "tribalism", when Anambra made Igbo, a mandatory part of General Studies courses for all undergraduates within its' state-owned tertiary institutions, did you? Absolute falsehood. Igbo language is not compulsory to non-Igbo students and certainly not a prerequisite for gaining admission into state-owned tertiary institutions in Igbo land or any state. Yari.ba is not official language of Nigeria and can never become a compulsory curriculum or prerequisite subject of admission. Yari.ba people are known for tribal advocacy. |

Africlegend: Would We ever see Nnamdi Kanu again?
In the latest Nigeria, where young and old need be choosy of what to say, I'm afraid, I can't but ask the omnivorous Lion of Biafra where he is.Kanu, where are you? Are you buried, erased or expired like some people are mongering? Are you somewhere in your Aba Father's house unseen? Are you in Israel or in the United Kingdom, of which you are a citizen? Where on earth are you? I wish you are not already crossing river Jordan to the world beyond.I wish you are not already dining with spirits.I wish you are not dead, if otherwise, another heroe has fallen and Nigeria is already saying adieu to sportsmanship and activism.Has the python defeated the Lion? If the king of the Jungle is still alive, other animals expect at least a light roar!
In my numero uno ABCs to you, before the python started dancing,I opened up on how Nigeria was better as one.I told you how we could reform the country from within. How you were a man whose good looks and confidence I venerated, how you should save Igbos the stress of losing and/or forfeiting their investments to Nigeria and how you should please save me the pains of losing my Igbo friends, neigbours and celebrities to some Biafra. You were either too conditioned to heaps of and several intimates, buddies, fans and converts, who would spend a lifetime singing your mentions and congnomen.I can remember telling you how Biafra(if achieved eventually) would still be governed by wicked Igbo leaders, who like their Yoruba and Hausa colleagues brought Nigeria to her knees. You shouldn't have forgotten that there was hardly any black nation that could be ranked developed. I would rather say, that Africans have the kind of leaders they deserve(more to say about this). If there's any solution to our problems, it is: using our power of votes to unseat a generation that has failed, and, then actively look inwards for youths; who know what governance is about. Africans, and Nigerians especially, hardly take with a straight face pre-election debates. We would rather vote based on well advertised propaganda and unrealistic convictions. We hardly would punch contestants to know what they are capable of doing. We would not consider the intellectual capacities and ingenuity of aspirants, but, vote based on they-said personalities and popularity of political parties. I saw the pre-election debate between American Trump and Clinton and could not but put on ice, how long a way Nigeria had to go.
Mazi, please where are you? Those who lost their sons to protests for your release might now have hysteria. Those who lost their pretty wives to Biafra-Inspired freedom calls are on the lookout. Those who were maimed and crippled in the process of Biafra agitation want to see you. The Children who lost their parents to stray bullets during campaigns for Biafra want to hear how there's still hope. There was an election in Anambra, Kanu please talk! Are you really a terrorist? Have you committed treason? We who are not in support of secession, but admire your selflessness and audacity wants to know if the Lion is already defeated.Oh! it seems the python has taken over. But, what will the future of activism look like in Nigeria? Is the freedom of speech assurance abated? Can we still say things as they are and go scot free? Since the python dances in my country, can we still gambol without awe, scare, phobia and/or suspicion? Hmmm, Life goes on in the east, Igbos are still eating chicken and senegalese rice, cars are still moving and the clock tickles on.In Igboland, people are still getting married in flamboyance and birthdays are still being celebrated with Osadebe's Osondi owendi, even, when Mazi is in not-many-knows-where. Where is the Lion? Where is the prince? Nnamdi Kanu, would we see you again?
