But as a Niger Deltan, let me talk about the person in the Picture that concerns me.
David Ejoor.
Just like Goodluck Jonathan, David Ejoor had the opportunity to raise the profile of the old Mid West(Niger Delta Now) to he highest level in Nigeria, but what did he do?at the sound of Gun shoot, he paddled a Bicycle through many cities and towns to run away, leaving his Soldiers behind,
In my definition that is Cowardice.

Politics › Re: Onne Sea Port by DerideGull(m): 8:32pm On Jan 18, 2016 |
Super1Star: It is so expensive to deliver to Onne because of the following:
1. The importers had a choice of filling destination port themselves and they wrote Lagos with their own pen.
2. Th hazards for liners to berth in Onne is too much and it is not commensurate with the reward. Hence, captain decline carrying cargoes meant for such dangerous water. Anyone that will berth there will be at a higher cost.
3. Due to the fact that more ships are not berthing there, the charges might cost more because the cost of running a port is almost th same whether the port is in Zungeru or Sambisa or Kandahar. It is those small number of berthing ships that will bear the brunt of the total operational cost of the port. Hence the charges.
This will decrease greatly if only the importers from SE can simply fill Onne as destination port, can insure the lives of the crew and pay premium for the risk the ship is undertaken. Per the bolded, why is Onne hazardous and its water dangerous? Is Douala port also hazardous and it water dangerous? |

Pls take a look at the picture and ask yourself the following question. Whose brother or sister or parents will stand to take picture of his Loved one lying in pool of his blood? for how long was the corpse lying on the floor and his soul flowing away in blood with no one ready to help as it appears? Are we waiting to blame someone for this or concerned about the life that was gushing away in crimson red?
indeed it is noble to lay down your life for the cause that you believe in but to do so in the context of "Comradeship" without Espirit De Corps is a grievous tragedy.
The posture of the youths standing over the corpse shows nothing but detached mockery of the departed - a lesson for the living.
I have nothing to say about the state agents involved in this saga. rather my query is to the State (which includes government and citizens) that posterity will hold us all accountable for all our acts and omissions that trigger humanitarian suffering. No we are not dogs we cant vomit and go back to eat our vomit, God 4bid... pls read below copy and share:
Ojukwu's Atrocities on Old Rivers State Rivers communities seemed to be worse off. Apart from the killings, torture and other forms of human rights abuse, they were deliberately evicted from their homes towns and replace with Igbo indigenes. As a consequence, many Rivers people from Ikwerre, Ogoni, Okirika, Eleme and Kalabari communities were evicted to “concentration camps” in Igbo towns like Umuahia, Owerri, Abiriba, and Ozuitem. That was how able bodied men, women and children were systematically starved to death and buried in farmlands. Ongoing massacre was only confirmed by siting of dead bodies in New Calabar and Sombriero Rivers of Rivers State. An Irish priest who served in Rivers State reported how Rivers people were maltreated because of perceive sabotage by the Biafran Igbo soldiers. At Bolo and Ogu in Okirika, and Onne in Eleme, the villagers suffered the same fate. After the battle at Onne, Biafran troops removed the town inhabitants suspected to have collaborated with federal troops and sent them to the Rainbow Town headquarters of the Biafran 52 Brigade in Port Harcourt. Graham-Douglas, who was also thrown into detention, claimed to have seen about three hundred men detained in the Rainbow Town for no just cause. He asserted that no fewer than sixty thousand Rivers people were sent to different concentration camps in Igbo land. Graham Douglas narrated the ordeal Rivers people suffered in the hands of the Igbos in a pamphlet titled “Ojukwu’s Rebellion and World Opinion”. He claimed that the minorities tribes had suffered more hardships and molestations than the Igbo could claim to have suffered at the hands of Northern Nigerians. Biafra hired Markpress as it image laundering and propaganda press. They countered most of the sordid account of massacres committed by Igbo Biafran in Niger Delta lands, like those narrated by Graham Douglas. The world was therefore blinded to the massacres committed in Rivers State. Some prominent Ikwerre leaders like Elechi Amadi and Obi Wali were marked for death. History had it that Obi Wali was hidden by his kinsmen in a human waste dump forest at Rumueme. Elechi Amadi was made fugitive in his homeland. Ojukwu ethnic cleansing was coded as "COMBING". No Niger Delta ethnic group or community was spared of Ojukwu's combing. History recorded that Biafra act of combing led to the Massacred of defenseless civilians at: Ogoni (Bori), Eleme; Okrika (Ogu); Kalabari (Bakana, Buguma and Billie); Ikwerre (Rumuola, Rumueme and Isiokpo) and other Niger Delta communities of the present day Rivers State too numerous to mention. The plight of the minorities had been so alarming that several Nigerian students of Rivers State origin in London staged a peaceful protest against the killing and displacement of their people. In addition to a peaceful march from Trafalgar Square to the House of Commons in London, they also sent out petitions to the United Nations, the Organization of African Unity (OAU), His Holiness Pope Paul VI, Emperor Haile Selaisie, the British Prime Minister and other relevant groups, raising alarm of massacre of their kinsmen in their homelands, asking them to bring pressure on the warring parties to stop the senseless killing of innocent and defenceless people of Rivers State for a war the seek no part of. The petition was said to be a landmark document that established to the world that not all Eastern Nigeria region was part of the ideology called “Biafra”, and dashed the claims of Ojukwu that he was supported by all ethnic group of the region. Following the petition, the international community mounted pressure on Ojukwu to forfeit his struggle and negotiate for peace, which led to an asylum window for Ojukwu’s capitulation a few months after. Per the bolded, during the battle of Port Harcourt, anybody that ran away from Port Harcourt and its environ did so on his/her own accord and mainly to run away from the advancing vandals. In addition, Biafra had no unit up to the strength of a brigade talk less one with a number. Biafra had 8th Battalion to defend Port Harcourt under Majors Nwajei and later Ogbugo Kalu. My in-laws from Umuademe and even my father were among the people who evacuated from Port Harcourt during the battle for Port Harcourt. Sometimes I wonder why people tend to sow seeds of hatred among the people of southern Nigeria. In 1966 when Captain Elechi Amadi ran away from Kaduna and back to eastern region as an Igbo man and instantly resigned his commission from Nigerian army, he was not harassed. Before the fall of Port Harcourt in the early hours of 1968, Elechi Amadi was the principal of Asa High School, Asa now in Ukwu West LGA where he replaced Mr. Onwuma when the later was made Administrator of Aba. However, when Elechi Amadi sneaked into Port Harcourt after the city fell into the hands of federal troops, Elechi Amadi realized he was no longer an Igbo and concocted fallacies how he was treated by the Biafrans and Ojukwu. Most of the craps I read today about Nigeria/Biafra civil war confirm the fact that most narratives about any war are the conspiracies of the victors. |

Weedcrusher: You will really think what this man has said really made sense if you don't know the history of Nigeria. Though the region is not known as South south until recently, but it has been clearly distinct from the Igbo hinterland from colonial era. The region was initial called the Oil rivers protectorate between 1884-1893 before the name was changed to Niger coast protectorate between 1893-1900. The states in this protectorate are the present south south states. The protectorate joined other territories south of lokoja to form the Southern protectorate in 1900. It was the same southern protectorate that amalgamated with the northern protectorate and lagos colony to form what we have now has Nigeria in 1914. One old man cannot just wake up someday and try to rewrite history. There are well documented records that are older than him.
source: http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/ng_ncp.html Per the bolded, the region know as Oil River Protectorate was not limited to the goofy south-south lexicon in today's Nigerian polity. Most Nigerians are calibrated dunce. In fact, the Oil in the Oil River Protectorate had nothing to do with the crude oil but palm oil. In addition, there were two rivers that gave rise to the Oil River Protectorate, thus, Imo and Qua Iboe Rivers. |

Kikero112: As I am answering you....I want to make myself clear.
I am not anti-Igbo, and self determination should be part of any democracy.
You are doubting Wike made the comment. The simple reason why South Southern minorites won't support Biafra is the same reason why Northern Minorities won't support Arewa.....the problem being we would end up with countries dominated by the big tribes....at the expense of small tribes.
Back in the 60's one Northern minority soldier took an active part in the July 66 coup, and an active part in crying ''Araba''. Few days later....the guy sat down and thought about what Araba meant for him as a minority....and the result was that he became a One Nigeria man from that day henceforth.(He did not like the ideas that flowed into his mind...so to speak).
And as for Isaac Adaka Boro....when he was freed by the Nigerian government whom he took up arms against....the gent promptly joined the Nigerian Army because ''I will not swap my Nigerian citizenship for a Biafra dominated by the big tribe''
Now....I am not saying Nigeria is perfect. But....right now, self determination re Biafra might not be feasible. Because...to us minorities (and yes...I am from one of many South South tribes)...we do not want to end up being under big tribe dominaiton at close quaters.....regardless of how many nice promises are made. At least in Nigeria...we have some space to fight for our rights. And as far as I can see....Biafra does not guarantee me that space. Will Biafra for example allow resource control? Language rights? Will there be zoning or not? See....if you want to convince people that Biafra is better than Nigeria....you better got to start talking and formulating ideas about how the Biafran nation would work.....not barking about all opponents of Biafra being ''treacherous Yourbas'' . You might even convince some hardcore one Nigerianists like me.
So...for me for now.........one Nigeria....till there is a better alternative. What will you do when the so-called "Big Tribes" eventually leave Nigeria? Anything is possible under the Sun. |

American Billionaire and Republican Presidential Front-runner, Donald Trump, has shot a subtle warning to the Nigerian Community in the United States, after he said all Nigerians would be made to leave the country “when he becomes President”.
He made the “threat” during a rally at Wichita, Kansas. According to Donald Trump, Nigerians ad Mexicans have taken all the jobs meant for honest hard working Americans.
“To Make America great again, we need to get rid of the Muslims, Mexicans and the Africans, especially the Nigerians. They take all our jobs, jobs meant for honest hard working Americans, and when we don’t give them the jobs, the Muslims blow us up”, Trump said.
