thundafire:They aren't complaining bro. It is western sanctions that crippled the North Korean economy not their nuclear programme, they were still able to evade those sanctions with the help of China because the North has industries inside China. After much pressure and persuasion Ghaddafi gave up his nuclear programme in 2003 we all know the aftermath. America dislike the Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) doctrine, the thugs in washington know any country that achieves (MAD) is free from their aggression and bullying. Iran has not even attained MAD yet she shot down America's most expensive drone last year, had courage to smash America's base in Iraq leaving over a hundred soldiers with traumatic brain injuries. What if they now have nukes? I swear America would think twice before they make any silly move. That's why uncle sam is so scared of an Iran with nukes. If nuclear weapons programme is the only thing that can deter America from bullying you i think it is worth having regardless of the sanctions that come with it. |

The U.S. is pulling two Patriot missile batteries and some fighter aircraft out of Saudi Arabia, an American official said Thursday, amid tensions between the kingdom and the Trump administration over oil production. The official said the decision removes two batteries that were guarding oil facilities in Saudi Arabia but leaves two Patriot batteries at Prince Sultan Air Base in the Saudi desert, along with other air defense systems and jet fighters. The decision scales back the American presence in Saudi Arabia just months after the Pentagon began a military buildup there to counter threats from Iran. About 300 troops that staff the two batteries would also leave Saudi Arabia, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military operations. The move comes as the U.S. has sent Patriot systems into Iraq to protect American and allied troops there, who came under an Iranian missile attack earlier this year. The Army has a limited number of the systems, and they routinely must be brought home for upgrades. Two other Patriot batteries that are in the Middle East region are also heading home to the U.S., in a planned redeployment for maintenance and upgrades. It's not clear, however, whether the ongoing oil dispute or the struggle to parcel out the much-coveted Patriot systems was the key factor in the U.S. decision to pull systems out of the kingdom. Asked about the move Thursday, President Donald Trump said, “We’re making a lot of moves in the Middle East and elsewhere. We do a lot of things all over the world, militarily we’ve been taken advantage of all over the world." He didn't provide details, but added, "This has nothing to do with Saudi Arabia. This has to do with other countries, frankly, much more.” When Saudi Arabia ramped up oil production and slashed prices this year, Republicans accused the kingdom of exacerbating instability in the oil market, which was already suffering because of the coronavirus pandemic. The volatility and price crash in oil hurt U.S. shale producers, leading to layoffs in the industry, particularly in Republican-run states. Some Republican senators warned in late March that if Saudi Arabia did not change course, it risked losing American defense support and facing a range of potential “levers of statecraft” such as tariffs and other trade restrictions, investigations and sanctions. The U.S. official said a THAAD anti-ballistic missile defense system will also remain in Saudi Arabia. The THAAD complements the Patriots by providing a defense against ballistic missiles traveling outside Earth’s atmosphere. The Saudi government and the Saudi Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment. State-run media in the kingdom similarly did not immediately acknowledge the troop removal. The Pentagon announced last year that it would begin deploying forces and Patriot batteries to Prince Sultan Air Base, a former U.S. military hub. The move was one of the more dramatic signs of America’s decision to beef up troops in the Middle East in response to threats from Iran. When Gen. Frank McKenzie, top U.S. commander for the Middle East, visited the base earlier this year, the American troop presence had grown to roughly 2,500. At the time, McKenzie told reporters with him that the base was a key strategic location, but that continued presence of troops and weapons there would depend on other national security needs around the world. Tensions with Iran escalated throughout last summer and fall, as the U.S. blamed Tehran for using mines to target oil tankers near the strategic Strait of Hormuz and for attacking Saudi oil facilities. Violence peaked when the U.S. carried out a drone strike in Iraq that killed Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s top general. In response, Iran on Jan. 8 fired ballistic missiles at al-Asad Air Base in Iraq where U.S. troops were stationed. More than 100 troops were later diagnosed with traumatic brain injury. At the time of the attack, the U.S. had no Patriot defenses at those bases because it judged other locations, in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Gulf, to be more likely Iranian targets. After the attack, the U.S. decided to move Patriots into Iraq to give troops more protection from missiles. Tensions with Iran remain high. Its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard was involved in a tense incident in the Persian Gulf last month. The Guard's small boats repeatedly came dangerously close to U.S. warships, crossing in front of them multiple times. And the Guard is believed to have briefly seized control of a Hong Kong-flagged oil tanker. https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-pulls-anti-missile-systems-185806299.html

North Korea has almost completed construction of a giant facility large enough to hold nuclear missiles capable of reaching the United States, according to a new analysis of satellite photography. The facility "is almost certainly related to North Korea's expanding ballistic missiles program," according to the analysis by the Center for Strategic and International Studies , a Washington-based think tank. One building within the facility "is large enough to accommodate an elevated Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile and, therefore, the entirety of North Korea's known ballistic missile variants," the report states. CSIS suggests the facility is located 11 miles north-west of Pyongyang and features an underground storage facility large enough to house all known North Korean ballistic missiles as well as their support vehicles. The site's existence had not previously been disclosed. It also features an "unusually large" covered rail terminal, which could be used to transport missiles and supporting equipment, and interconnected buildings designed for drive-through access, the report states. "Taken as a whole, these characteristics suggest that this facility is likely designed to support ballistic missile operations and for the interim is identified as the Sil-li () Ballistic Missile Support Facility," said Joseph Bermudez, the report's author. "As such, it is another component of the North Korean ballistic missile infrastructure that has been undergoing both modernization and expansion during the past 10 years." North Korea debuted its most powerful ballistic missile, the Hwasong-15, in 2017, which experts say could reach " any part of the continental United States ." Donald. Trump has since met with Kim Jong Un on three occasions as he tried to broker a deal designed to halt North Korea's nuclear missile program. But talks between the two powers broke down in February last year at a summit in Hanoi, Vietnam. Trump was said to have handed Kim Jong Un a piece of paper which included a blunt call for the transfer of Pyongyang's nuclear weapons and bomb fuel to the United States in return for the lifting of economic sanctions. A lunch between the two leaders was subsequently cancelled, and a North Korean official subsequently accused the US of issuing "gangster-like" demands, heralding a significant cooling in relations since. Lol. He doesn't even need such power because he couldn't use it when Iran smashed America's Ayn-Al Asad airbase leaving over 100 troops with traumatic brain injuries. I remember how Mr Trump treathened fire and brimstone on Iran should Iran retaliate the killing of Soleimani. |

mansakhalifa:That does not mean U.S does not have a hand in it. There were many sloppy and shoddy coup attempt orchestrated and funded by the CIA in an attempt to unseat and even assasinate Castro during the cold war. Cuban dissident groups in the U.S. like Alpha 66 and Omega 7 had connections with the U.S government. Eduardo Arocena the leader of the Omega 7 even confessed he was trained by the CIA. Miguel Orozco and Pedro Vera Ortiz were cuban dissidents that helped private organizations and U.S government to carry out sabotage operations in Cuba. It's normal for America to deny its involvement in an operation like this. |
-Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded Kim Jong Un a commemorative war medal marking the 75th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, the Russian embassy in Pyongyang said Tuesday. The medal was awarded to the North Korean leader for his role in preserving the memory of Soviet soldiers who died on North Korean territory, the statement said. Russia’s ambassador in North Korea, Alexander Matsegora, presented the award to the country’s Foreign Minister Ri Son-gwon on Tuesday. Kim, who was rumored earlier this month to have fallen ill, didn’t attend the ceremony. Photos of the meeting in Pyongyang showed Russian and North Korean officials wearing face masks despite the fact that North Korea so far has not reported a single case of the new coronavirus. Last year Russia invited Kim to visit Moscow on May 9 and attend the military parade marking the 75th anniversary of the victory. Putin announced the decision to postpone the parade indefinitely last month because of the coronavirus pandemic. In 2015, the North Korean leader rejected a similar invitation to the 70th anniversary, citing domestic affairs. https://www.voanews.com/europe/putin-awards-commemorative-wwii-medal-kim-jong-un

illitrate:You don't know what has been going on in Venezuela for over a week. My question is what were those U.S military veterans doing in Venezuela? You said the U.S does not need to physically send citizens to venezueala to stage a coup? That means you are ignorant of U.S. activities in South and central america. This is not a new thing America did it well during cold war, they were busy arming militias to overthrow governments in South America. U.S. really wants Maduro to go they need to control the oil in Venezuela and they would do all it takes to take maduro out. |
yungchop:Yea there's a documentary on the failed U.S. assasination attempts tittled "638 ways to kill castro" . |

Venezuelan authorities have detained two US citizens allegedly working with a US military veteran who has claimed responsibility for a failed armed incursion into the oil-producing country, President Nicolas Maduro said on Monday. In a state television address, Maduro said authorities arrested 13 “terrorists” on Monday allegedly involved in a plot he said was coordinated with Washington to enter the South American country via the Caribbean coast and oust him. Eight people were killed during the foiled incursion attempt on Sunday, Venezuelan authorities said. Maduro showed what he said were the US passports and other identification cards belonging to Airan Berry and Luke Denman, who he said were in custody and had been working with Jordan Goudreau, an American military veteran who leads a Florida-based security company called Silvercorp USA. “They were playing Rambo. They were playing hero,” Maduro said, adding that Venezuelan authorities had caught wind of the plot before its execution. Goudreau, who identified himself as an organiser of the invasion on Sunday, told Reuters on Monday that Berry and Denman were also involved. “They’re working with me. Those are my guys,” he said by telephone. The State Department did not provide any immediate comment on the alleged arrests. US officials have strongly denied any US government involvement in the incursions. A person familiar with the matter said the two US citizens were captured on Monday in a second-day roundup of accomplices and were believed to be in the custody of Venezuelan military intelligence. The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the details came from contacts with Venezuelan security forces. Opposition leader, Juan Guaido, who the US has backed to be president of Venezuela, cast doubt on the government’s version of Sunday’s events, insisting Maduro is seeking to distract from other problems in recent days including a deadly prison riot and a violent gang battle in Caracas. Guaido’s communications team on Monday denied media reports that Guaido had hired Silvercorp to remove Maduro by force, adding the opposition leader and his allies “have no relationship with or responsibility for the actions of the company Silvercorp.” In a statement on Monday evening, Guaido’s team said: “We demand the human rights ... of the people captured in recent hours be respected.“ Washington has imposed tough economic sanctions against Venezuela in an effort to oust Maduro, whom it accuses of having rigged elections in 2018. Maduro’s government says the United States wants to control Venezuela’s massive oil reserves. Monday’s arrests come after Maduro’s government on Sunday said mercenaries had attempted to enter the South American country on speed boats from neighbouring Colombia, saying eight people had been killed and two detained. Later on Sunday, Goudreau released a video identifying himself as an organiser of the alleged invasion, alongside dissident Venezuelan military officer Javier Nieto. Goudreau said in the video that fighters on the ground continued to carry out operations in different parts of the country. He identified one of the fighters as “Commander Sequea,” which appeared to be a reference to Antonio Sequea, who was identified on Monday by state television as one of the people arrested. Silvercorp’s website describes Goudreau as a “highly decorated Special Forces Iraq and Afghanistan veteran.“ Source: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/05/venezuela-detains-two-americans-allegedly-involved-in-failed-raid-to-remove-maduro |

North and South Korea have exchanged gunfire in the Demilitarised Zone which divides the two countries. Gunshots fired by North Korea at 07:41 (23:41 BST) hit a South Korean guard post in the central border town of Cheorwon, Seoul's military said. No casualties were reported on the South Korean side. In response, South Korea fired "two rounds of gunfire and a warning announcement according to our manual", the military statement said. It is not clear what provoked the initial gunshots. The joint chiefs of staff (JCS) said that they were trying to contact North Korea through their military hotline to determine the cause of the incident. This is the first time in five years that North Korean troops have directly fired on the South. The demilitarised zone (DMZ) was set up after the Korean War in 1953 in order to create a buffer zone between the two countries. For the past two years, the government in Seoul has tried to turn the heavily fortified border into a peace zone. Easing military tensions at the border was one of the agreements reached between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the South Korean President Moon Jae-in at a summit in Pyongyang in September 2018. This exchange of gunfire comes a day after Kim Jong-un appeared in public, following an almost-three-week unexplained absence that sparked intense global speculation about his health. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-52518844 |

amaniro:If you are the communist leader of a country and you don't want America to unseat you through a coup then you have to handle your people with iron hand that's why i won't blame Kim and other dictators before him. If there is no bully there won't be a dictator. You guys can call him whatever you like he does not care he has achieved what we call deterrence. America would think twice before invading his country. They won't be poor if not for harsh western sanctions. The west would want you to believe the North is the problem but look at the history of the North, the Korean war and U.S policies during the cold war era then you won't even blame Kim and his predecessors. Not that i like dictators but if you take a critical look at the game between the capitalist west and socialist countries during the cold war era then you'll see the truth. |
