Iran's Revolutionary Guards chief on Thursday warned the US of a "decisive response" after President Donald Trump said he instructed the US Navy to "shoot down" Iranian boats that harass American ships in the Gulf. "We declare to the Americans that we are absolutely determined and serious... and that all action will be met with a decisive response that will be efficient and quick," Major General Hossein Salami told state television. "We have also ordered our naval units to target (US boats and forces) if they try to endanger the safety of our ships or boats of war." Tensions between decades-old foes the United States and Iran escalated again last week with Washington accusing its arch enemy of harassing its ships in the Gulf. Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday after Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they had launched the Islamic republic's first military satellite. The US president said he had "instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea". Salami said last week's maritime incident was the result of "unprofessional and dangerous behaviour by the Americans in the Persian Gulf". The Guards commander also indicated that US actions in the sensitive waterway had been hampered by an outbreak of the novel coronavirus. "In last week's incident, there was operational turmoil and disorder among US naval units at sea," said Salami. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday said Iran must be held accountable for its latest military satellite launch, which he says could have violated a United Nations resolution. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps hours earlier said it had successfully launched a multipurpose military satellite into orbit, marking a first for the paramilitary group. The “Noor” satellite — whose name means “light” — is orbiting 425 km (264 miles) above the earth’s surface, according to state-run media. “I think every nation has an obligation to go to the United Nations and evaluate whether this missile launch was consistent with that Security Council resolution,” Mr. Pompeo said during a press conference. According to a 2015 UN resolution, Iran has been “called upon” to stop working on ballistic missiles that are made to deliver nuclear weapons as part of a deal with six global leaders. In the 50's Mossadegh expropriated the oil industry that was being exploited by British and American oil companies and gave it back to the people he did that because of the love he had for the Iranians but it's a pity that America and Britain had to unseat him in a coup and replaced him with a dictator that looted the country dry. America hasn't forgiven them since they took the country back from U.S exploitation in 1979 revolution. That is why uncle Sam is still waging economic warfare on the country. Don't swallow western propaganda every nation has the right to defend itself from aggression. It is western sanction that is making life difficult for ordinary Iranians and they won't give up their military programme for the removal of western sanctions it's suicidal.
