Greatzeus:On average, those whose children attend public schools are not as privileged as those whose children attend private schools. Once things look up for them, they enrol their children in private schools. Most private schools in Nigeria are just a shy away from being public schools.Wrong again. A private schools is a personal business and most of them are handled as such by the owners. And there are more private schools than public schools which keeps the competition alive. Unlike public schools, private schools have a reputation to protect. The most important factor in online lessons is the environment. How many homes in Nigeria have a spare room where students could learn online without interference of their parents or siblings disturbing them, or noise from televisions or babies or neighbours? How many?I don't know where you are, but here in Lagos, a lot of private schools are using even platforms as basic as Whatsapp with its affordable data plans to host classes that can be viewed at any time of the day and as much as possible without additional costs. They even submit assignments over it. They get to use their parents phones which means parents are actively involved in their kids learning now, moreso than before. As for the 'special room', that was never a necessity. It still isn't. Even a child needs a quiet place to do home work; but home work gets done and submitted all the same by everyone. Quiet room or not. It won't work in Nigeria, not in the primary or secondary or Universities. Just think of the North for example. It would work for anyone that's down with it. The reason people are exploiting alternatives is the dubious nature of this COVID pandemic. Else, this online classes will be the realest deal. I've test run it and I saw the feasibility. I have friends who are running one package or the other, mostly secondary level and few primary levels. Any University that doesn't want to implement it, just doesn't want to implement it for reasons in their own interests. As for the North, they don't think of us before flooring their cut off marks for their examinations, so why bother? |
martolux:You need Kitkat 4.4.2 at least. |
skywalker240:So long as there are differences, you are just choosing to see it the way you want. Vehicles always look like another. You only need to just remember the brand. Jaguar vs Aston Martin look alike Chrysler vs Bentley look alike KIA vs Jaguar..and even Mercedes (the one we call Beast) all look alike. Does that mean they too are not original?

Is it not the same public schools that a number of staff don't take their responsibility serious? Even as they were attending offline schools, were they being adequately taught? This is not enough reason to sideline online classes. If their parents were well to do, they won't even be in public schools because every parent knows what is obtainable there by default. |
Depressed101:So long as your brand is on it, you could claim you produced it. By your logic, even Apple don't produce iPhones because their phone parts are sourced from different companies and are assembled by a company that isn't even Apple. |

helinues:How's this strategy? Each innoson vehicle comes with an Innoson phone? ![]() Or two for man and wife? |
wirinet:I think everyone who owns a WAEC result knows it doesn't expire. But then, not everyone owns one. |
Simplyleo:I will use Lagos as an example because this nonsense you are defending is expected but ultimately pointless. Lagosians in general only use face mask in public transport. Face masks are not in active use in market places and most businesses. So when parents go about their business for at about 6 hours in a day, interacting with many people, they still come back home to each and everyone of these children of theirs. If there was to be an outbreak, it should have happened. Unlike unruly adults, children can be easily monitored and guided by the school management. |

Nawaaoh:A more suitable headline would be Aspiring students to look elsewhere as US Universities go online ..something like that. From what I understand, the post was about students looking to change environment via migration to study. All through your post, there was no slight indication of current students being asked to leave or risking deportation or something. ![]() |

If this is the SIM that has lasted just six months, I won't say it is MTN or the phone, but YOU. You've swapped the living daylight out of that SIM evident by the drag marks on it. |
The headline is misleading isn't it? ![]() |
SirRoberto:Shikena. Even all these precautions are formalities. They are not observed anywhere. Most of the parents that have been going for work don't observe this at work. And they've been coming back home everyday. It's so sad education is still not seen as being key. |
Additional news that hit the airwaves minutes ago, courtesy of Channels is that WASSCE is to begin on 4th of August. |

Mascot57:Schools have been asked to resume in Lagos on August 3rd for a six-week preparation. By this, it is expected to commence sometime in mid September or later. Since WAEC is headquartered there, they're likely to use Lagos State timetable. But WAEC insists that Examinations will not commence until all concerned schools in every state in Nigeria have been given the greenlight to resume. I am not sure if this also applies to all member countries or just Nigeria. |

Onitola2:You are standing on this table you are shaking. Now you're accepting luck plays a huge role in achievements. Where is the glory then in succeeding? Don't bring in CR7, Zlatan and Ronaldo here. We're talking about their national teams. Argentina have massively underperformed comparatively. And Messi must take his share of the blame. Portugal on the other hand, have performed quite admirably. |
