Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?(atheist Back Off) by Desyner: 3:01am On Nov 26, 2017
The wicked one is determined to steal, kill, and destroy. If there is no good in you, what can the wicked one steal, kill and/or destroy? The more good in you the higher the tendency of the wicked one towards you. Get it?

but it is normal for christians to attack muslems with same harsh words, insulting their prophet and belief, my brother until christians start being tolerant of others it would never stop.
He who wants equity, shovld come with clean hands.
The fact that others can't comment on a Muslim thread because their brain can't comprehend Islam until they accept it speaks volume of Islam. It means people who accept Islam didn't understand it until they were in it. Who then led them to Islam? A priest or babalawo? I ask these question cos if we say Islam ticks all the boxes of a cult you guys say we insult the holy blah! blah!! blah!!!
Add the fact that you guys are permitted to lie in order to advance the Islam and it becomes even stranger. What kind of true religion permits lie ?

@topic, Ignore those who think they can give literal meaning to everything in the bible. When the bible says "let the dead bury their dead", can a dead man bury another dead man in the physical sense ?
People who deny spirituality are mostly conscious practicing witches. They deny the spiritual to lay a foundation of denial of their evil acts.
Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop Oyedepo- "We Have Never Made Profit From Covenant University" by Desyner: 2:36am On Nov 26, 2017
EKPETI:
I love this interview Papa granted. My people, Education is expensive that is why a sane society don't leave in the hands of the capitalist. The truth must be told no public university or polytechnic in Nigeria is average let alone standard.

The fee of CU is worth it compare to the services they render. 24/7 water, electricity, quality lecturers earning well, research at ur disposal, infrastructures, well equiped library, good hostels, above all discipline at its peak. There is nothing u are looking for in schools abroad that is not in CU. I know u cant compare schooling abroad and CU fees.

Bishop Oyedepo said the church has not taken anything from the school since inception and I believed him.

I pray God bless us all to send our children to good schools to get quality education not what we have in our public schools in Nigeria. Do u knw that PMB removed food subsidy in the tertiary institutions in d 80s during military regime? Do u knw what it takes a private inst. to have 24/7 electricity for 18years alone? No institution in Nigeria can say that except CU. I knw u will say is it possible. Here this, my children will attend CU. I love it.

God will continue to empower Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo.

NB: Education is costly.
The foundation of the seemingly huge fee is right there in the bold part. The mumus opposing churches here can't challenge govt that taxes them forcefully but think the church they don't pay tithe to should be accountable to them. Misplaced priority.

I don't get this guy and stupid projects. First Lagos investor building now this. Governments obsession with religious activities is weird. Education is only 1.6% of the budget yet he's found a way to sneak a church into budget. I wonder if people will denounce this like they did with jigawa building those 500 mosques.
I oppose this just like the Jigawa mosques.
Why bring private religion into public affairs where everybody don't share your beliefs? Muslims & Christians pay tax to have good public amenities and not for building or promoting personal religious beliefs. Muslims and Christians who pay tax share many common amenities that the govt can provide instead of sectional projects.
Politics › Re: 2018 budget: Akwa Ibom state government To Build 10,000 Seat Cathedral by Desyner: 8:47pm On Nov 25, 2017
I don't support any state governor/government using a dime of public fund to build any religious structure. It is wrong and insensitive move.

NoToPile:
I am not a winners member nor an ex covenant student but the man has a point, in fact this interview ( especially about the university) makes so much sense.

Education is expensive, you only need to see amount being used to run a standard uni ( All our govt universities are below standard and its the truth we are just managing especially in the science courses)

Equipments costs hundreds of millions, some of these so called cheap private unis take part time lecturers for a small token, little or no standard equipment available.

One thing I do know is convenant is a standard university. I am also of the opinion that a university should be able to run itself.

Education is expensive and that's just the truth, those who can afford it should go for it.

So its Nigerians that built that place... Interesting.
God bless you. I hope daft posters in this thread see this.

Stop acting daft. My reference to charity was to show you that Bishop does not need to be making profits to keep the school running.

So despite not paying any tax on his church income this man has vowed not to also pay any tax on his school business by declaring losses year in year out..What kind of men are these sef
Go start your own school and make huge 'profit' also.
With the run down facilities public sch offer the FG spends over N400, 000 on each students per year. That average is low cos the number of undergrads in public unis is huge. Most people who share you opinion are just hateful and envious of the strides the church is making.
ASUU will soon be on strike again cos of poor funding from both the FG and Studends alike, that tells us the fiscal set up of public education system is unrealistic yet. Even if Bishop subsidizes the school to N50k you guys will still ask for more cos there will always be someone who can't affort it.

Go and check the budget and population of SA,Egypt,Tunisia,Namibia and compare it to that of Nigeria.

My points exactly. We are poor yet our leader loot more than any other nation and we think we are rich.
Politics › Re: As 20m Now Face Devastation, UN Ranks Nigeria With Somalia, Yemen, South Sudan.. by Desyner: 12:00pm On Nov 25, 2017
myright:
The humanitarian situation in the Northeast has become pronounced and caught the attention of the United Nations Secretary General, who recently raised the alarm that at least 20 million people in Nigeria’s Northeast, Somalia, Yemen and South Sudan are facing devastating levels of food security and asked for urgent intervention to avert the disaster.
So many things don't make sense in Nigeria.
The north say they feed the nation but can't feed their brother in need of food. The picture the average Nigerian has about our level of wealth is that of a wealthy nation that has more than enough to meet basic needs. When we consider the mouths that are waiting to be feed with our seemingly huge pocket Nigeria is one of the poorest nation.

It is only a matter of time and the beneficiaries of the current system know it already.
That's why the northern governors and leader are increasing the drive for oil exploration up north. Our resource is hardly increasing but the number of mouths waiting on it is bound to double every 50 years, at this rate we clearly cannot cope with this elite-serving structure we are holding onto.
The indices are failing in every sector. Health, transport, education. Name it. It is same story.

Lol no government is willing to take the kind of heat that Churches are taking today. So of course Govt says "let us give them what they want, free useless education", at least the Govt know it is so useless their own Children would never school here. Yet the pastors are schooling their own kids in their own universities.

But take comfort it is not just Nigeria even South Africa is struggling to fund her 24 heavily subsidized Universities. The son of Uganda president low key just Graduated from AUN, Yola this year quietly while the father is busy deceiving ppl back at home, Strike don nearly finish Makerere University sef.

So it is an African something. And Just imagine o, this is ABU with the highest funding in the country. ABU alone is gulping about 13 billion per year in wage bill which comes directly from FG. Now, if we don't diversify our economy soon so we have more income to patch these free universities up then the situation may become worse.
the vc isn't telling it all. What of the beneficiaries who aren't ready to sacrifice 10% of what the govt pays on their behalf.

OreMI22:

26% of federal revenue shared among 36 states + Abuja is Waaay too little for the massive role of states today in national development!

The Federal Government takes a whopping 54% of federal revenue. Yet, it has a fraction of the states civil servants and a tiny fraction of all capital projects executed by all the states combined with just 26% of the revenue!

Unless the Abacha revenue sharing formula which gave all his military administrators 26% to run all the states of nigeria which is still in use till date is discarded for a new formula that resembles the current realities where states are building highways, bridges and major projects,

Nigerian states funded almost as LGAs (20%) will not get to a break even funding threshold to invest in avenues to improve their IGR.

Many people in the APC Federal Government now campaigned for this unfair revenue formula against the states during the PDP years. But they have suddenly kept quiet now that they are in FG where they embezzle the too much money Abacha allocated to FG, while the states could barely pay salaries talk more of embark on any meaningful development.
@The bold, how much does each of those 36 states contribute into the FG's purse? Over 75% of them are parasites because they are overall beneficiaries.

PRESIDENT BUHARI AND HIS ISLAMIZATION OF SOUTHERN (ESPECIALLY S.E) NIGERIA

On getting to Benin bypass on our way to Enugu from Lagos yesterday, I noticed that the bad spot there has not been repaired so we followed a diversion that got us to Benin Auchi expressway and back to the bypass. Before we got back to bypass, I saw a big signage beside the road and on it was written Sukuk. I knew I had had that word but I couldn’t remember again what it meant. Anyway, the safety of my lovely babes in the and as well as myself was more important than thinking what Sukuk meant thus I concentrated on my driving and never continued the soliloquy.

Shortly after Nkpor, I saw that contractors were fully on ground “burying” money on the ground to make the roads user friendly. Well, praising PMB by me was no longer news to my wife so no need to sing a new praise. But when we entered our beloved Enugu State, a section of the road, I think from Umumba or even before to 9th Miles had been fully tarred. My joy new no bound as I was driving on the bad side and was “doing Christmas” for my eyes watching the other side of the road. About five or ten minutes after the reconstruction point started, I saw another big signage, it was written Sukuk. And after every few kilometers, you will see Sukuk. That was when I remembered it was the “Islamic Bond” all lovers of development supported but not the ANTI-Christ Christians. I remembered how CAN would have stopped us from benefitting from the proceeds from Sukuk Bond as they ignorantly or deceitfully fought against FG issuing the Bond. PMB, our Leader, our Dad, and our Friend thank you. May Allah abundantly bless you. I am a convinced Christian, a practicing Catholic and I am FULLY in support of this Bond. If this is what islamization is all about, Leader, please continue. You think out of the box. Even when we are broke, your Team thought of this wonderful option and now we are seeing the result. Please don’t mind our intolerant brothers-CAN and others. They are ignorant or mischievous. And the Investors in Sukuk Bond, make God bless una! Ndi Igbo will never forget una, for borrowing FG money to reconstruct our roads.

Chukwuemeka Ojielo
You must think we are all stupid. How much was the sukuk loan?
So govt didn't have that amount before the useless sukuk loan? Keep the delusion up bro . . . Na your way.
