wunmi590:He can only pay his tax (if applicable) to the State of Residence, according to Residency Rule of Personal Income Tax (PITA) Act LFN 2004 |
Bashirkareem31:FIRS can't get involved because he is a (Nigerian) individual and not an incorporated company. Therefore, it's a Personal Income Tax (PITA) issue and NOT a Company Income Tax (CITA) issue. So its not the jurisdiction of FIRS but that of any SIRS. |
But he can only pay his tax (if applicable) to only one (1) state, and that is the State of Residence, according to Residency Rule of Personal Income Tax (PITA) Act LFN 2004 |
solmus:It's not about State of "Origin", it's about "Residence". If he resides in Lagos, then LIRS gets the TAX. |
Victor1980:Ogbeni, which year did you write this comment because currently, there's nothing like PE 2 in ICAN. What we now have for over 15 diets is Foundation, Skills and Professional. PE I, II & III have long been buried. |
MAYOWAAK:He is right. There is a Bachel Tutorial Centre at Jungle Bus-Stop (Guinness Co-operative house), Iju Road. |
Rhesusmonkey:Don't mind those ass-lickers that derive joy in glorifying incompetence and non-performance. Ask him if the road he plies to and from work (that's if he has any) is good. Ask him if he can enroll any of his kids in any public pry schools in Lagos. The last time I checked, LASG bought those buses (by Ambode) with Tax payers money in 2019. LASG used Tax Payers money to build about 100 bus stops for those buses. LASG used tax payers money to build modern bus terminals for those buses (including the magnificent one at Oshodi). LASG now claimed the buses were being operated by a so-called franchise but its LASG that fixes/approves fares. Who is fooling who here? They are busy painting the medians and Kerbs of the few good roads while neglecting a vast majority of other road that are in deplorable condition. You can barely drive 1km without entering a bad road. |
Arrewa:With this long eulogy, and you're not a Buhari/Buratai fan. Be deceiving yourself. |

Instead of Kinetic approach, why not combine Almighty Formula, Pythagoras Theorem, Exponential Equation, Trigonometric Ratio and Quadratic Function in order to solve the quagmire simultaneously (Simultaneous Equation). Walahi in no time, Bandits or Boko Haram will be eliminated (Elimination Method). |
IYANGBALI:Ha!!!, which one be builted again? |
Exc2000:I swear. He will even use scriptures to back his shameful act that he merely applied wisdom. |
Midex88:Oga that's Iju Road you are talking about. The fire incident happened along College Road and the name of the other filling station opposite the burnt NNPC fuel station is G & G Oil and Gas (It's a family owned fuel station that changes name every now and then) |
ValCon888:Even the letter written by Area Boys of Mushin looks very similar to the one earlier written by the so-called 1 Million Boys in terms of composition and structure. Even the printout looks similar. It seems both letters were printed from same printer. |
We have been using Cisco Telepresence (TP) and Zoom for Virtual Meetings & Video Conferencing in my company for how many years now. |
Maxymilliano:I once left my Company's Warehouse at Mende, Maryland around 4:50pm on a Friday in December last year and got to my house @ Iju-Ishaga (Ifako-Ijaiye LGA) around 8:43pm. That day, all the available routes were all in a standstill. Mobolaji Bank Anthony towards Ikeja Bridge enroute Oba Akran-Akilo Road was a no-go-area. Sheraton link bridge-Opebi-Allen-Aromire-Adeniyi Jones Avenue was totally blocked. Ordinarily, on a good day, Maryland to my house is + or - 55mins. So, it very possible. It might not be a daily occurrence but its very possible once in a while when the demon in-charge of Traffic affairs decides wreck havoc on Lagosians. |
Ginaz:You get sense. |
helinues:y Hello Sir, it's FIRS that generates internal revenue not Nigeria Customs. The revenue generated by customs are from imported goods which are valued in USD. Customs charge a particular rate on each imported commodity based on the dollar value, hence the reason why all revenues by customs must be valued in USD and later converted to naira. The guy you quoted is right, the 2019 revenue is nothing compared to 2014 revenue going by prevailing exchange rates that is applicable. If someone generated $10,000 in 2014 and the exchange rate was #165, the the naira equivalent will be #1,650,000 but if someone else generate $7,000 in 2019 and using the official exchange rate of #305 (let's rule out the actual exchange rate of #361/$1), the naira equivalent will be #2,135,000. To an uninformed person, the 2019 performance was far better than 2014 performance, if you judge by naira value but but to a more informed individual who digs deeper, he/she will know that the revenue was initially based on USD but later converted to naira. The peeps at the helms of affairs knew all these that's why they intentionally gave you the values in naira. Don't allow anybody to pull the wool over your eyes. Shine your eyes and use your brain. |
RealSleek:it shall be well with your generation. You get sense. |
Just in case the inevitable happens and you find yourself on the "other side" kindly send my greetings to my Grandpa and Grandma. |
@OP, you should have simply used "Expressions/Terms/Words/Vocabularies" instead of "Jargon" as Jargon doesn't really mean wrong words but are technical terminologies or idioms peculiar to a distinct group, field or discipline. |
sonnie10:They are. Please check "Law of Torts". The Tortfeasors (i.e. the ladies) committed Defamation of Character, which is a Civil Wrong and all Davido needed to do was to "sue for damages" and not parade them in handcuffs like criminals. If those ladies can get a good lawyer, even though they were initially wrong, the table might turn to their favour. |

Lagos was privileged to be the base of the Colonial Masters during colonial rule. Lagos was privileged to be the Capital of Nigeria for decades during Military rule. Both the Colonial masters and Past Military Head of States invested heavily in Lagos in terms of infrastructures more than other states. Lagos is privileged to have the Organised Private Sector (particularly Multinational Companies), investing in infrastructures in most part of Lagos - especially on the Island. Other States did not enjoy these privileges, which are prerequisites for development except for Abuja. Funny thing is Lagos is the smallest of all the states in Nigeria (in land size) but it generates the most Revenue. 80% of the major roads and bridges you see in Lagos today were built either during the colonial era or Military regime. About 2 decades into this present civilian rule since 1999, despite all the huge revenue from IGR and federal allocation, Lagos is still a glorified slum. |
In reality, we've been boxed into a corner. CBN wants cashless society so most transactions should be online. If I deposit or withdraw too much cash, I pay a charge of 2% or 3%. FIRS says if I pay for any transaction online, I pay extra 5% VAT. So, where do we run to N'tori Olorun. Who did we offend self to warrant this torture? Haba!!! |
Back then in Sec Sch and even in 100 Level Economics (Public Finance to be precise), we were told that one of the reasons why govt impose Tax is to build and maintain Public Infrastructures (Roads inclusive). So, why will I, as a Tax payer still pay a toll on the same road built with proceeds from my Tax? Come to think of it, if you want constant power supply, its either you buy an inverter or a generator, if you want quality health care service, you have to patronize a private hospital. If you want sound education for your kids, a private institution is the only option; as for security, private security outfits or even vigilante groups is what now reigns. If you need water, its either you have bore-hole in your compound or you call aboki (mai ruwa) for water. Now if you want to pass through good roads, you must be ready to pay toll; the same roads the govt (at any level) failed to fix despite all the huge revenue from taxes. The question now is what exactly do I gain from government?. Who exactly did we offend that made us have these calamities called politicians? While they all live in opulence and affluence at the expense of the masses, they still want to swindle us of the little disposable income left for us to manage. Haaaaaaa, Nkan Nbe!!! |

FarahAideed:So apt, pls educate them o. This is O-Level Economics. |
