The Sly:

Lookie mate. . . .Could you tell me why so many countries(Almost all) are being controlled by males?
Your handle is obviously a travesty of THE TRUTH!!
Sorry but your asinine type of assumption holds no ground.

That male controlled most countries may be because of their bravery and not because they were more intelligent!
Check out the little space they have given women in Nigeria (except Ette), I think they have a good score!
Nevertheless, my conclusion was based on how my little girl with age less than 3 could handle 3 languages at a time.
Come to think of it, what if this (assumed) ability of female is such that decreases with time?

Family / Are Female Children More Intelligent? by detruth: 7:53pm On Jun 23, 2008
I don't know if Nairalanders noticed this;
Why is it that Female Children are more intelligent than their male counterpart.
They are sharper in memory, learn things faster and don't forget things easily?
My little girl (less than 3 years) within a space of 4 months learnt how to speak a Foreign language fluently.
My boy of 5 can't even catch up with her. Its amazing!
Does this has to do with their physiological make-up?
Should you have an objection to this discovery, please lets hear your view!

Religion / Re: Pay Your Tithe Or Save A Relative's Life? by detruth: 5:11pm On Jun 23, 2008
Ps 127:1
"Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain." (NKJV)

If God refuse to heal, then not your money!

quote from RedHotChic
Are you saying that if i give them the money to go to hospital, the patient will surely die because i disobeyed God by not paying my tithes first?

@RedHotC.
Sorry for answering your question late its because of my tight schedules!
Back to your question;
Noooooo! My aim if far from that.
I only wanted you to know that you cannot save anybody's life. Not even your own!
Saving lives is meant for God. That is why He is called the Saviour!
God will only avenge all disobediences only when your obedience is complete! (2 Cor. 10:6)
And moreover, just like someone has said, tithe is not the last thing to pay neither is it what to be given a leverage with any other pressing needs.

Your tithe is not negotiable! Should I ask you a question?  Does it means that after using your tithe to treat the relative you would'nt eat or do anything again with money till your next salary/income comes? That is not possible! If you will surely find money to do other things after using your tithe then that shows me where your heart is. You simply wanted to spend the tithe under that excuse and not bbecausethere is no other alternative.

The real truth about this tithing of a thing is God testing us to know where our heart is! Whether on the blessing or on the "Blesser".
Check all those who are against tithe, they often such that finds it difficult to let go. They are such that will actually refuse to give to any relative.
They are only using the excuses of some corrupt Pastors and others as a cover up. Those who do'nt love God can't love man! Love is more than words!
They claim they can give to bbeggarsinstead, but do they know what the beggers spend the money on? (either on cigarette or on woman). Then you will see them stop immediately.
What was their motive before giving to those beggers Check it? Pride! But on the other side, your tithe is a demonstrationof your love and humility.
You claimed you wanted to save your relative with your tithe, but Abraham was ready to sacrifice His only son on the alter of obedience, humility and love for God. Why? he knew all things comes from Him and they are sustained by Him.

Heb 11:17-19
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. KJV

Giving/Tithing in itself has no blessing until the motive behind it rightly corresponds. Love! God only uses your treasured resources as a test to know where your heart is. Peace!

As i have always said the church owes the congregation the truth and that is what i stand on. For people who are new to this topic i recomend for reading Deut 14 : 22-29, leviticus 27: 30-34, numbers 18: 25-32, deut 26: 12-15 and Hebrews 7 : 5-15

@Kunle
You are only full of letters which kills; only the spirit of the Word gives life. The Spirit is the only true interpreter of the scriptures and not your head.
Allow everyman (just like God) to live and prosper by his own faith because if you are far from the Spirit, you will surely be far from the truth.
I learnt a long time ago that a man can prove anything "right" from the scriptures depending on the spirit interpreting it to him. You can say its right to steal and site David as example, people have once proved from the scripture that there is nothing bad in getting drunk or smoking. Someone here even say its right to fornicate (and imagine, with biblical references) and so on. That is why all your “bla-bla-bla” all these while makes no difference. “Ordinary people” are free to deduce their own interpretations of scriptures, all according to their own personal understanding. cool

Religion / Re: Can You Suspend Tithing To Pay Off Your Debts? by detruth: 11:17am On Jun 17, 2008
@ Poster
Paying your tithe is never optional as long as you believe that your blessings is from God. Nevertheless, you need to understand that your tithes are from your increases. i.e your gains and not your losses. (Deut. 14:22). You are never expected to borrow to pay your tithe or pay from your losses. But if your debt is not incurred from your business or your source of income, but came through other areas, then you must still pay the tithe from the gains of your income, the magnitude of your debt not withstanding. This is the only way God can open miraculous doors of blessings for you in order to offset the pending debt.
More importantly, note that even if you are a good tither and you fail in the wisdom of good management of resources, you may still find yourself entangled in various debts again and again. There are always a corresponding character attached to every spiritual ordinance in order to make it effective. Good management, contentment, avoid being wasteful, avoid impulse spending etc. Such are the abilities I pray for you today that will give you the wisdom of Joseph whom abounds even in the time of famine. Tithings will open the doors of blessings (Mal. 3:10) but wisdom will make you enter into the blessing. It is one thing for the door to be opened, it is another thing for it to be entered.

KunleOshob:

This issue of tithes as been thouroughly discussed on another thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-113108.0.html please check it out it explains very well the deception about tithes. But more specifically Hebrews 7: 10-15 it says in clear terms that the law of tithes must change because the priesthood of our Lord Jesus christ does not require it and that Jesus christ is not from the tribe of levites that collect tithes. please check it out.

What is it that was thoroughly discussed? You better say those are the illusionary understanding of the scriptures by you and some cohorts. Never you think we all here can fall for that your gospel of deception and blasphemy. You can never make a fool of God's Word. And mind you, stop thinking you are such an achiever! cool

Which is the safest Airline? - I lately made some discoveries;

Officially, it is not possible to get a ranking of airline safety because of the difficulty of getting the accident rates data reliably from the Airlines or even the responsible aviation authorities.  For instance, as late as 1996, the FAA was not providing the statistics to the consumers. Their rationale: to prevent public disclosure of sensitive information to the public.  However, the former Inspector General of the US Department of Transportation, Mary Schiavo rejected this argument, saying that the flying consumer, that is, the public who has the greatest interest in knowing the safety rates of airlines should not be deprived of such information and did release some data later on when she resigned from the Office.
I have however compiled some information that I have gathered from various sources and came up with some unofficial rankings below.  Accidents can be a result of many factors.  It is never easy to make good comparisons but I will endeavor to do so by using accident rates only.  Accident rates are defined as the number of safety problems that arose for every 100,000 take-offs.
As a general rule, airlines from the First World have a better safety record than those from the less developed World.  The safety of an airline is dependent on many factors, namely the management of the Company, the age of the aircraft, how well are the training standards being maintained, whether standard operating procedures are properly adhered to, proper maintenance of aircraft and sometimes, there are other outside factors which are beyond the airlines’ control.  Thus, accident that arose can be attributed to a combination of many factors.
Listed below are the 10 safest Airlines for each region of the world.  It is meant to serve as an unofficial ranking and as well as a general guidance to the air traveler.   The Rankings listed below are compiled from AirDisaster.com, Boeing's Statistical Summary of Commercial Jet Airplanes Accidents: 1959-1999 and some from Mary Schiavo's book, Flying Safe, Flying Blind. There are many criteria used by other organizations to provide safety statistics for airlines, and aviation authorities are reluctant to come to a consensus and provide an official one. Thus, where the accident rates varies,  I have done some juggling by averaging the results in order to come out with these unofficial rankings.  Therefore, I cannot guarantee accuracy or endorse any airlines or aircraft based on them. These rankings are based on average accident rates only  and are subjected to corrections from time to time.

Safest Airlines

United States and Canada
Rankings Airlines          Accident Rate
1 South West 0.00
2 America West 0.00
3 Delta Airlines 0.23
4 North West 0.35
5 Continental Airlines 0.40
6 United Airlines 0.43
7 USAir                 0.45
8 Air Canada 0.48
9 Aloha Airlines 0.49
10 American Airlines 0.53

United States and Canada are classified under the First World category.  From the table above,
the accident rates for all the 10 Airlines are below 1.0, indicating that they have a very safe record.

Caribbean & Latin/South America Regions
Rankings Airlines                      Accident Rate
1 Mexicana Airlines                 0.53
2 Aerolineas Argentinas 1.20
3 Varig                                 1.22
4 Aeromexico                 1.85
5 Transbrazil                 2.35
6 Avianca                                 3.15
7 VASP                                 3.24
8 LAN Chile                          4.00
9 Aero Peru                  16.7
10 Cubana                    24.0

In the Caribbean & Latin/South American Regions, the disparity between the safest and the least
safe is quite marked. The first five rankings seem reasonable even though they are classified under
the Developing World category.

Europe
Rankings Airlines            Accident Rate
1 British Airways 0.270
2 Luthansa                 0.300
3 SAS          0.595
4 British Midlands 0.680
5 Braathens SAFE 0.695
6 Alitalia                 0.750
7 Iberia        0.845
8 Air France 0.870
9 KLM          1.030
10 TAP Portugal l.060

European Airlines all come under the First World category and their records indicate their better
safety standards.

Africa and Middle East
Rankings Airlines         Accident Rate
1 South African 0.63
2 Saudi Airlines 1.40
3 Royal Air Moroc 1.54
4 Kenyan Airways 3.00
5 Air Afrique 3.33
6 Ethopian                 4.00
7 Nigerian Airways 5.00
8 Egypt Air    8.00
9 Royal Jordanian 8.82
10 Air Zimbabwe 12.50

In Africa and the Middle East, only South Africa has been grouped under the First World category.
Its record is fairly impressive when compared to the other African/Middle East countries.

Rankings Airlines            Accident Rate
1 QANTAS    0.00
2 All Nippon Airways 0.22
3 Air New Zealand 0.74
4 Cathay Pacific Airways 0.97
5 Malaysia Airlines 1.11
6 Thai International 1.90
7 Singapore/Silk Air 2.00
8 Japan Airlines 2.05
9 Garuda Airlines 4.08
10 Phillippines Airlines 4.68

Australia and Asia
Qantas is one of the safest airlines in the world with a record of zero fatalities in its many years of operation. However, one of its Boeing 747 was involved in an accident during a landing in Bangkok.  Although there were no fatalities, the damage to the airplane was quite extensive.  Instead of writing off the hull that would be cheaper, it appears that Qantas decided to repair the airplane to maintain a zero hull loss record!
According to the table, All Nippon Airways has an even better record than most of the American or European best Airlines.

Which is the safest airplane?
Newer airplanes are naturally safer. The Boeing 777 has been in operation for more than 7 years and has the least accident rate.  It is a very versatile airplane and has many safety features.  It is the first aircraft to be completely designed by computers and has the latest avionics and navigational systems. However, all other aircraft are just as safe. The certification of every aircraft models must comply with the same set of standards otherwise they would not be released by the authorities for the carriage of passengers.
Below is a list of safest aircraft rankings based on average accident rates.  So far, the Boeing 777 and the Airbus 340 have a clean record and are therefore rated safest based on accident rates. The Airbus 330 had a fatal crash* during a simulated engine failure in Toulouse in 1994, hence ranked in third position.
Air France has decommissioned the Concorde in May 2003. This is to be followed by British Airways in October 2003.  The introduction of the Concorde was way ahead of its time but it suffers from being a very expensive airplane to operate due to the high fuel cost and bad publicity after the July 25 crashes. Only two Airlines operated this airplane.  Air France had five and British Airways with seven. The entire British Airways Concorde fleet was reported to have cracks in the wings. One of the airplanes had to be grounded when the cracks were found to be expanding. The Concorde flew very few flights as compared to other commercial aircraft.  It did about 80,000 takeoffs in its entire 24 years of operation. Hence, its accident rate of 12.02 and poor ranking does not do justice to its safety records. A million takeoffs are usually considered the point where accident rate starts to mean something.
As above, where the accident rates from various sources vary,  I have done some juggling by averaging the results in order to come out with these unofficial rankings.  Therefore, I cannot guarantee accuracy or endorse any aircraft based on them. These rankings are based on average accident rates only  and are subjected to corrections from time to time.
