4mula22: In a dilemma...
Should I book a direct flight for 319k (with the hope that NLNG will reimburse)... or go with a cheap flight of 198k (and spend 2days travelling) just in case they don't reply favourably?
Analysts in the house... over to you! Pls, which airline are u using that is that high? I will advise you use skyscanner.com to search for flight with one stop and short waiting time. Again try searching from different airport, like manchester airport, heathrow or birmingham. Price differ from one airport to another. In summary, take the lesser price (none be only u they wan reimburse and they may only reimburse partly); but do your search properly. |

claremont: The fact of the matter which we all agree on is that the current UK immigration policies are not in favour of those international students whose intention is to live in the UK after studies. There was a time when the UK offered a 2-year post-study work visa, the vast majority of international students (including myself) used that as a stepping stone to obtaining citizenship in the UK; that avenue has been shut. In the current system, only very few (exceptionally lucky) international students can actually get an employer to sponsor their work permit during the 4-month leeway they have before their student visa expires. Why would an employer sponsor a work permit for a non-EU graduate when they have the whole of the UK and the EU to source for suitable candidates from?
The advice is that those prospective international students whose real intention is to immigrate should consider Canada and Australia because of their less stringent work permit requirements after graduation. The vast majority of international students who still come to the UK to study are those who intend to either go back to their country of origin after graduation, or they intend to immigrate to the aforementioned countries after graduation, or maybe those who intend to marry a weather-beaten, middle-aged white whale for the sake of a residence visa.
Just a note of warning to all would-be immigrants, having a permanent residence status in a developed country doesn't automatically grant you a job. It only offers you an opportunity to explore your potentials, whether a human being chooses to exploit the opportunity provided is up to him/her.
My 2p. Thanks so much for your objective analysis of the current situation. At least it gives prospective international students an insight to make a decision that best suit their case. Your 2p makes a whole lot afterall. |

Mekurexx: Okay Guys, Good Evening.... Hope y'all had an amazing weekend? I'm trying to get off-campus accomodation in Sunderland. I have been quite unlucky because I havent gotten anything on the internet. And checking up the Nigerian Student Society in Uni of Sunderland on Facebook, they haven posted anything there since 2012 & 2014 Please who knows the North-East well and can help? It is best to book and stay in an hotel for the first week of your arrival. This will enable you to be on ground to look for accommodation around your locality and even speak to your Uni hostel services if you wish, and see for yourself first hand if you like the place and the proximity to your school. I will much encourage you to stay on campus if you have the choice because it could be lonely out there, but you will be more be close to people when you re on campus and close to information and campus resources (library, health care, IT support etc) That was what i did when i resumed last Sept. But in that case, you have to resume before the start of your program to give you time to sort this out. |

But this left me bewildered, how a job whose location is in Lagos, Nigeria would be meant for only Nationals of EU. Not that it is an Embassy job but oil and gas job. God help us. |

Crime › The Girl He Picked From Hotel And Took As Girlfriend Kill Him Over #200 (photo) by Dfavouredone(op): 10:16am On Mar 25, 2015 |
I was hypnotized, says lady who killed lover over N200Gift Wahab, the 20-year-old lady, who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death in Ajegunle area of Lagos last Thursday, said she was hypnotized by a force she could not resist.
The suspect, who said she was yet to come to terms with the reality of her boyfriend’s death, said the argument that resulted in the fight, which led to her boyfriend’s death, was over N200.
She said: “He usually gave me N200 as feeding money. On that day, as we were returning from where we went to drink, I became hungry and complained to him.
“He got angry and asked why I should complain of hunger after he had spent the only money he had on drinks. An argument ensued, during which he slapped me in the public.
“I got angry and held on to his shirt. He kept beating me and in the process, he inflicted injury on my nose.
“It was when I saw blood gushing from my nose that I ran inside the room and brought out a knife. He dared me to stab him and I stabbed him in the neck, not knowing he would die.
‘He removed me from the streets’
In an emotional-laden tone, she stated that she owed her boyfriend, Ebi Amadu, a lot, revealing that he removed her from the streets, after they met in 2012.
She said: “We met in a hotel in Ojo Road and since then, I have been living with him and members of his family, comprising his mother and five siblings in a one-room apartment at 10 Ligali Street, Off Ojo Road.
“Along the line I got pregnant but I lost the pregnancy late last year.
“Though he was not rich, we were managing. He usually gave me N200 for feeding each day. I never meant to kill him. It was a mistake.
“In fact, I was under a spell. I was hypnotized. I have never killed anyone in my life. Why will it be my boyfriend?“
Vanguard gathered that when the late Amadu was stabbed, he attempted to remove the knife and in the process, fell into a drain.
A mob reportedly attempted to lynch Gift, but for the arrival of policemen from Layeni Division. The mob, Gift said, “descen-ded on me, saying they would kill me the same way I killed Ebi. I passed out when one of them landed a blow on my nose, which was still bleeding.
“The next time I opened my eyes, I found myself in the Police Station.
“I sincerely beg for forgiveness from my late boyfriend’s family. I know this will not bring their son back. But please let them forgive me.” The suspect, according to the Police, would be charged to court at the end of investigation. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/i-was-hypnotized-says-lady-who-killed-lover-over-n200/#sthash.VIX2MakZ.zOx8dOfI.dpuf

acidtalk: My dear Niger youth, Please in the name of God, you all should concentrate on your future.
Times are getting tougher. Spen less time on facebook, twitter, istagram, BBM and whatsapp if those medium aren't helping your business or career in anyway.
Spend your youth working hard and building a future instead of ending up working in your old days and becoming a liability to family and friends.
Why spend N40, 000 and more on a phone when you don't have a job that gives you at least N400, 000 a month.
What you wear, drive or live is not a definition to your success or happiness. Your real self worth is knowing your future is guaranteed due to the work you have put in place to secure your future.
Karma is real. Whatever you do today you will earn tomorrow.
100% of God's words in the Bible and Quran will come to pass. forget how your religious leaders won't preach the truth for their selfish gains.
I FEAR THAT MAJORITY OF THE YOUTHS OF TODAY WILL LIVE A REGRETFUL LIFE TOMORROW God bless you friend. |
