Christianity EtcRe: What Would Make You Believe There Is No God? by DICKtator: 11:34am On Aug 05, 2012
Deep Sight: @ Area boy. . . .

The Bible may be altered, and certainly contains truth as well as falsehood and myth. However one should still try and discern deeply when looking at some of its legends. They could be symbols.

About the garden of eden which you mentioned, look deeper into the story - - - >

Could it be that the legend related in Genesis regarding the fall of man in Eden is not a reference to an event that occured in this world, but rather describes the departure of the spirit of mankind from the eternal spiritual realm into the world of matter?

This would tally with many things. A forbidden fruit would be the world of matter. Entering into it would bring about knowledge of good and evil, as presumably there is no evil in the realm from which the spirit came. Or there is just pure neutrality. Casting out man from the garden would be sending the spirit out of the spiritual realm into the world of matter. Wearing animal skins is a clear indicator of the physical bodies that man must wear to live in the physical world. Such bodies bear close resemblances to animal bodies. It is instructive that the fruit is given by the woman, since it is by women that we are born into the world of matter. On top of all that God promises that if man eats the fruit he shall die. It is certain that death is only known to man once he has entered the world of matter. Above all the reference to the Lord God strolling in the Garden and communing daily with man there on a one to one basis indicates that this was a spiritual realm where God's presence was.

Most instructively however, the TREE OF LIFE was said to reside in the garden. Crucially, it is said to be guarded by cherubs and a flaming sword after the fall of man. That says it all; it could not have been this earth. It was another realm. The ultimate realm.
So Deep(no pun intended!)

houstonia: I Love My GirlFriend So Damn Much, Cos She's A Good Girl, But I Think She is Tired Of Me

dear nairalanders, I'm a young handsome man, am 24 years of age and a student of Niger Delta University BY. In my 2nd semester 100 level I fell in love with this very very good charactered 200 level girl. We had fun together, and I even deflowered her myself.(Now in 200, she 300) She also loved me back but currently we both seem to be having quarrels about me feeling too insecure which I seriously doubt that I'm, and most importantly, she always loved to stay in the house with just bikinis when I first met her, which as an African man I could tolerate when its just the two of us.This days, she does it even in front of every other person(guy). And she now uses statements like "I blame myself for letting you into my life" "its me who agreed to date you" Please this issue is ruining my relationship. I need your advice please.
Dude, contact Dr Phil, or Dr Hitch and better yet, Go on Jerry Springer show and table ur grievances!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Closing Of Jos MTN Call Centre by DICKtator: 7:31am On Aug 03, 2012
steffans: The Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, and the State Executive Council on Thursday directed the indigenes and residents of the state to commence the immediate boycott of the services of telecommunications giant, MTN.

The decision, taken during the SEC meeting, was in reaction to the decision of MTN to close its call centres in Plateau State.
The state government faulted the reason of insecurity cited for the closure of the call centres.
It said MTN was closing the call centres because it did not want to pay the 1,700 workers it employed in the state.
A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Yiljap Abraham, said: “The Plateau State Executive Council met on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 presided over by Governor Jonah Jang.
“The Council among other issues noted with dismay the unconvincing reasons advanced by MTN for relocating its Call Centres from Jos. MTN alluded its action to security concerns as reported in some newspapers of July 31, 2012.
“The reasons advanced for the closure of the MTN Jos call centre smacks of a grand design to deceive unsuspecting members of the public about the real motives for such a quaintly decision. It seems more reasonable to presume that the insecurity hypothesis is being bandied about as an afterthought. It needs to be placed on record that the security challenges that befell Plateau State predated the setting up of the MTN Call Centre in Jos….
“Consequently the council resolved as follows:
1. Condemns the discriminatory remuneration and underpayment of the over 1,700 workers of the MTN Jos Call Centre, majority of whom are citizens of Plateau State in comparison to their colleagues in other call centres across the country
2. MTN is not the only service provider and the obvious option for Plateau citizens is to have rescinded to alternative GSM services. If the state is not good enough to house an MTN Call Centre, then its citizens do not necessarily have to patronize MTN as a service provider
3. The governor of Plateau State and all government officials will immediately stop the patronage of MTN GSM services. Government is also appealing to Plateau citizens at home and in tne Diaspora  to discontinue patronizing MTN.”
The government promised to battle MTN on behalf of the affected workers.
A text message, circulating in the state already on the issue, reads: “MTN are relocating from Plateau because they don’t want to pay the right wages. Migrate from MTN to Aitel, Glo or Etisalat. A date has been fixed to shut down their (MTN) BTS in Jos. Please send to many.”

MTN be finding excuses for their poor services to the Nigerian people as a whole.
Why can't Airtel,EMTS and Glo also pull out?

Christianity EtcRe: Bishop Oyedepo To Muslim Sister : “Convert To Christianity Or Die Poor,” by DICKtator: 3:14pm On Jul 29, 2012
krap: The presiding bishop and founder of the Living Faith Christian Church International, better known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Eniola Oyedepo is not new to controversy.

Though he seems like a man that can tolerate others, it is surprising that the man cannot hide his disdain for the Islamic religion which was evident when little Abdul-Gafar Ayomide Salami, a young Nigerian student seeking admission to Oyedepo church owned Covenant University was denied admission despite having all required qualifications, just because he is a Muslim.

If what he did to little Abdul-Gafar is thought to be anything serious, his disposition towards his half-sister, Alhaja Saratu Bello who refuses to become a Christian after every method implored by Oyedepo to convert her failed. He swore not to have anything .to do with her until she changes her religion to Christianity. The sister in question is being treated like the black sheep of the family and the bishop has forbidden everybody from helping her.

The sister who lives in Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos is living in abject poverty and finds it difficult to feed while her other siblings are living in affluence. Those who know her doubt her story of being related to the man who can be said to be the richest pastor in Africa.

The man of God who is the surviving one of a set of twins after a prolonged delay in having a fruit of the womb by the late mother was born into a Muslim family of Pa Oyedepo in Omu-Aran. David Oyedepo was instrumental in the conversion of his father to becoming a Christian, a thing the father agreed to when he was very old after which he was baptized by his own son before death

Maybe if Oyedepo gave them his now infamous "witch for Jesus" slap. They would convert with alacrity!!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: A Drunk Nimasa Interview Candidate In Lagos by DICKtator: 2:00pm On Jul 29, 2012
What would you say of this young who dressed smartly for last month's NIMASA interview held in Victoria Island,Lagos.
Authoritatively,he greeted us,chatted with us cheerfully at first while we chilled and took soft drinks under a shade-tree directly opposite Lagos Business School, but a woman also selss local dry gin and herbal mix under the same shade which endeared peolple who loved a taste and sip of the local drink to hibernate under the shade-tree.
That peaceful morning, this man was seen arguing and exchanging ideas intelligently on issues surrounding the state of the nation, insecurity, joblessness amongst others while he also drinks and offered kindly in the african way a share of the local dry herbal mix,in which most of us declined equivocally since we all knew we had all come to write an all important written test which was unnecessary to involve oneself in any drinking splendour.

And just as we were about entering for the tests after about 30 minutes later,I was astoundingly surprised to see a familiar figure lying helplessly outside the gates of The Lagos Business School, obviously dead-drunk,same person who had been chatting cheerfully with us just before we were called for the test seen looking almost unconscious in his well Plated suits and bag containing his Credentials all drenched to the tilt.
Now I had to take a glimpse and close shots of him to share and inquire from peolpe if this. Could also be as a result of frustration as a result of joblessness.
And could it also be that this young man had been drinking before coming for the test, because we could only notice him took about two filled cups of the local drink.
Or could it be that he underrated the sheer devilry effects of the local dry gin that particular Saturday morning.

Would be glad if this is put on front page may be we could also get views from people who witnessed the story at that NIMASA Test Interview date last Month.
