rebecausoro: Following what Kimkalash said, I think Nigerians fear too much. We live in a society where people can mark you down if you talk too much or you complain or you are too loud. We believe in witches and wizards ruining our destiny. Many of us can't even tell our own siblings that we are applying for visas because we feel it will attract bad luck. It's a Nigerian psyche.
I'm giving an antithesis to what MadeMan01 has proposed. Nigerian gra gra is basically to suffer in silence and then make noise when nothing can be done or make noise when we can simply talk. I have never left my fate to chance for once and I do whatever I can to fast track things for myself. If that means sending a mail to Justin Trudeau himself, I would. I have never seen anybody being denied visa because they sent multiple emails. Visa decisions are not based on extraneous factors. They are based on what you submitted and what the VO thought at that time. Once your application is approved, only admissibility factors can affect you and sending multiple emails to whoever is definitely not a ground for inadmissibility.
On a general note, almost of us here want to go to Canada. Canadians do not suffer in silence. A Canadian will not allow the Nigerian embassy treat them like trash because they want visas. A Canadian would not allow himself to be psychologically tortured during online classes because she doesn't have a visa yet. These are things many of us are tolerating. Ranting a little would make them understanding our pain. When I sent my emails, I didn't insult anybody. If you are the recipient sef, you will start feeling sorry for me. So far, all my emails have yielded fruit and like I said before, even if it means mailing Justin Trudeau or the Governor General of Canada (or even the Queen of Canada herself) just to get results, I would. Who nor like am, make e nor send e own. It's not by force.
In my online class, an Indian mate couldn't get a required book and he didn't say anything until it was almost too late. I told him to mail the professor to protest and he did. Guess what? The professor secured a scanned copy of the book for him and also gave him an extension to do his book report. A Nigerian may have left that to chance and failed because he feels it's even a privilege for him to study in Canada and he shouldn't disturb the professor with emails. Nigerians, soro soke o! Beautifully written!! |

maestro09: Good day everyone.
Having gone through this thread, I seem to notice that applicants with siblings in Canada do get rejected.
For me, my sister is a citizen of Canada. She’s going to be my main sponsor while my brother in the UK will be my second sponsor.
For ties back in Nigeria, I have my parent and two other siblings in Nigeria, my parents and my brothers have landed properties in Nigeria. I can get a letter of study leave from my company where I’ve been working for almost 3 years now.
Please do I run a risk of being rejected due to family ties in Canada and Nigeria? Your mistaken please. I have family in Canada and it was approved. Just submit an honest application. |

I dont think submitting them together as one, as per payment is accepted. (my thoughts anyway) He can call them by phone or send an email or chat them up. |

MOKENN: Please o, I was reading through IRCC site about the documents one needs to present at POE, amongst other things I saw proof of funds. Does this mean that we will reprint account statement close to departure or what? I am aware of a young lady that was almost turned back because she hadn’t paid her winter semester tuition and was traveling for the winter semester. Based on that story I assume it’s either you’ve paid the semesters tuition and can show proof or you have it with you. |

BiggestAmaju: April 1st applicant with upfront medical. No update till I got AIP August 5th. No correspondence till date. I have since started lectures online. My school was added to the DLI with Covid-19 readiness plan 2 days ago. And after series of mails and webforms with medical result attached, I got this... Good day, you have reached the Migration Section of the Canadian Embassy in Turkey.
Thank you for your enquiry.
Please be informed that your copy of medical examination has already been uploaded to your application. Regards,
Applied for GCMS note and the message below... We have contacted IRCC regarding your notes and IRCC has taken an extension for your request and below is the message from IRCC. We will forward the notes as soon as we receive them.
"The electronic notes of the immigration or citizenship officer(s) for the temporary residence file concerning Biggest Amaju.
I wish to inform you that, in accordance with the Access To Information Act*, an extension of 60 days beyond the statutory 30 day limit is necessary to process your request. This extension is due to a large number of records or necessitates a search through a large number of records and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the government institution.
Wetin man go do again? Medical still not updated to passed yet. Hi Did you apply in Turkey? I applied on the 1st of April and got AIP on the 6th although it was dated 5th. Later got my BVL immediately my DLI was Covid ready which was the first batch. The following day got my PPR. I think the delay is because of your school just being approved at a time there is a lot of backlog of applications to roll out as per PPRs and the rest. It appears they are really overwhelmed and are trying to slow down the pace of processing applications. I even understand that India VACs have been closed for now. I know it can be frustrating..... let’s not loose faith, you will get there. |

Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by DINO71: 6:49pm On Nov 18, 2020 |
MOKENN: If you are not in a rush to travel, Lagos is fine. I submitted to Lagos on 26th and got it today (from Port harcourt).
Documents to send with passport are; Int'l passport, ppr letter, biometrics slip, 2 vfs consent form, 2 copies of passport info page.
If you finally opt for Abuja, since you will need to pay N7,430, You may attach the proof of payment (Normal bank teller will be fine) but Snap it before you send them the original just in case they ask you to send the teller to an email address like inthe case of inhouse courier charge (feedback.cannig@vfshelpline.com)
Go to a courier service outlet (DHL, UPS etc), give them the docs and pay for your 2-way courier. the Lagos VFS use UPS. UPS is also less expensive than DHL.
I hope this helps You submitted on the 26th or it was received by Festus on the 26th? |
