Villa in my opinion got the better of the deal. In my opinion Ireland should be worth just as much as Milner. Their different styles can both yield trophies if used well. Milner had crazy work-rate,but he will never have as good a eye for a pass like Ireland does. If villa use that 18M well (thats a LOT of money),they will still finish the seasom on top of citeh. Honestly I dont agree that we have 4 CBs. I say we have 2. Djourou's injuries are too prevalent for him to be considered. And even when he 'claims' he is fit,he doesnt command his area the way a good CB should. He is tall physically,but not in attitude.
Nordviet is good,but I think he still needs a season at least. I may be wrong,but using him now may be detrimental cos he will surely make plenty mistakes that will cost us. You dont face epl strikers with small lads.
With just 2 DF,we arent ready. The addition should be up to the task and not a 30yr old who will hav escuses when he lets us down

i believe we beat manure home and away 2 seasons ago. (thats definitly not as far as 5 years). Admittedly,we dont have a squad as good as manure or chelski,but liverpool STILL have a better squad than we have and they aint got sh*t on us. Infact,we beat l'pool everytime we met them last season,and our squad wasnt as good as theirs. In like manner,our squad is good enough to beat ANY opposition,either they hav better players or not

in my books,i wouldnt consider Rosicky a 2nd choice midfielder. The fact that he came in as a sub doesnt make him 2nd choice. Torres came in for Ngog. Does that make torres a l'pool 2nd choice. Its about tactics and chosing which player's strength would be more effective in a particular game. If he had started Rosicky,he probably wouldnt have been playin with as much strength,will and flair as he did comin in as a sub.
As per whether diaby was a stinker at anfield,i think that is so harsh on him. He was the only gunner that was competitive in the air (aside MC). Tho he traditionally gave away the ball after some fine play,he had a presence in the MF. The stinker was none other than AA. I think AA game was so bad,charmakh couldn't stay up there in the lone role and had to come make up for an unimpressing arshavin. But,arshavin will step up. Surely.

How do you 'make sure your first team players are not injured'? Thats impossible. Injuries are part o the game. To win,you must cater sufficiently for injuries. if u have a good first team and you are hopin injuries dont come,then u r not ready to be champion

We are not better equipd to cope with injuries than last season. It isnt a time for anyone to 'show what they can do'. This isnt a period to see quality and readiness of playas-thats wha preseason is for. There are high stakes here. We have started along the direction of destruction. AW might have set goals that seemed impossible in the past and achieved them (yes,i'm talkin of the 'unbeaten' status) but I think he is being mulish about this one. Time has obviously run out on him on the project of winning trophies with a 'self-built' team in that the fans have run out of patience (5 trophyless yrs,to ARSENAL is so long). Thats understandable considerin that the EPL title which is one of the major titles has consistently been goin to the same two teams (manure and cheski) and arsenal has always been in strong contention. His obsession with this ''brought up lads' is about to back-fire and he still isnt havin a rethink - I think thats unfair to the fans. I will always be a fan of the footballin style he preaches,but I detest his attitude when it comes to transfers. I may be missing something,but shouldnt he see Given's availability as a rare opportunity that he should take advantage of? Citeh may not want to sell him to us,but Given himself cant think of a better option than the Emirates right now. Arsene just doesnt appreciate ,as much as he should, the importance of dependable hands btw the sticks.
It will take something in the mould of a miracle for arsenal to win anytin with the attitude of our coach. Its just that I cant be anytin other than a gooner.

havind read some posts from fellow gooners (i dont giv a kobo what anti-arsenals think),i'll like to say these:

1) even if we get a gd CB and goalie, In contrast to what a gooner posted,i dont think a trophy is guaranteed (at this stage in the season) even if we hav an additional CB and keeper. Who could hav foretold that liverpool would have a season as bad as they did at the initial stages of last season? At least they finishd 2nd a not-too-far season and had a better squad than we have at arsenal now. And assuming chelski n manure are 'perfect' manager and team-wise. can both teams win d league? I think if we get a good CB and goalie,we are only makin ourselves better 'contenders' as are chelski and manure.

2) Nasri had a good anfield game. Sincerely,i wonder what else this guy could have done. Admittedly,he isn't as fast as rosiski,but in d absence of fab,his job was to make sure we had good possession in the attack. i think he did that very well. If only someone like arshavin contributed as much as he should have,we could hav taken better advantage of the possession we had at anfield. For me,nasri was one of the better performers on sunday. Even the thuggery of masherano didnt hamper us from good ball possession at anfield.

3) almunia is good but, Honestly,i think almunia is a good goalie. But this is not the kind of club for his type. The first choice goalie for a club of arsenal's status and aspirations shouldnt just be one that is 'good'. he must be 'very good'. He should be rankd wit VDS,cech,reina,freidel n Given. In my opinion,if almunia was playin for everton,he wouldnt have a problem. Arsenal's No.1 should be a potential match winner consistently. If he had somehow prevented Ngog's fine shot, (i think everyone agrees that that shot wasnt unstoppable) and everytin else remained d same at anfield,it means we could hav bagged 3 points at anfield. Reina made mistake,but evryone knows his quality. Almunia just doesnt have such quality.

4) arshavin should sit. In recent arsenal displays,i dont think any first team member as been as lazy as arshavin. Too much of the praises that was heaped on him during his first season still resides in his head. He is becomin unbearable to watch that hardly does anyone expect good come from his side of the field these days. Most may disagree with me,but with the presence of a striker who jumps as well as charmakh,i think Gibbs should be tried upfront. We know Gibbs is very good with those long crosses,sometin beyond the scope of arshavin.Arshavin should be made a sub until  he finds the hunger and zeal he demonstrated last season.

5) Wilshere had a fine debut. With song reportedly not fit enough,i think i understand wenger startin wilshere. And even tho he gave the ball away,he did well overall. I like the aggresion and strength he showd. Playin at anfield must hav improved his confidence and showd how highly wenger believes in him. At least he will be a better fighter than denilson will ever become (if he is not already). If he can learn self-control,he will be better than scholes ever was.

Plus,by now i think the Kos critics are havin a rethink. Many think he is weak. But thats false. He looks weak,but is strong. Most expected him to falter when faced with torres in motion,but he dispossessed elnino rather calmly.He may not be able to break into attack vermalean-style,but he i think he is going to be a very reliable V5 partner.
