Thank goodness for the internet

Abuja — The new 140 megawatts electricity plant being constructed by Geometric power Limited for Aba town and its environs would be ready by September 2007.

When operational, the plant, which is a private-sector initiative, is expected to provide non-interrupted power supply to Abuja. The project, whose cost is put at $125 million, according to Chairman and Chief Executive of Geometrics Power Limited, Professor Barts Nnaji, will run on gas.

I know its a private project, and private projects unlike govt projects dont or are not meant to have this much delay or govt tactics of not delivering on time citing the usual excuse

Geometric Power is guaranteeing 90 per cent supply efficiency when the Aba project is completed in 2006. Why not 100 per cent guarantee? "It is technically improper for anyone in the world to make that kind of guarantee", explains the William Kepler Professor of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh on a leave of absence from the University of Massachusetts as the first black Di

Reference:
Sorry COMPAQ your request is simply impossible, whistle blower, for where. That is why change is so, so slow in Nigeria and revolution nigh impossible. I asked this question months ago, no reply - bad topic. We get inundated with cries of injustice and we are perpetrators, unwilling collaborators. The case of the airline you describe is just like banks. No single banker out of a job today saw or heard evidence of wrong doing, massive wrong doing until Sanusi. No one in Oceanic or Intercontinental saw or heard the CEO's transferring massive amounts illegally. Madam and Pastor did it all alone from their bedrooms eh.

It is either these bankers have questionable insight into their profession or were willing accomplices to these crimes. I could remember complaints about some of those banks by fellow forumites on various issues of maladministration months before the crisis but they were repeatedly shouted down and asked to 'produce evidence' like EFCC does when it has a vested interest in not acting. Well the evidence has finally come and na poor man dey suffer.

It is the same reason why the NLC will continue to strike for all the wrong reasons - money instead of accountability so that when the money comes mismanagement steals it back. We need to change that attitude and develop the courage to react. When the man down the street emerges out of nowhere in millions he is probably doing so at someone's expenses. We need candid camera in this country to develop the fear of wrong action. See what the British tabloid did to Amos Adamu. Can it ever happen here. If we inundate AIT with cellphone video of cops at checkpoints, or customs officers turning a blind eye or government workers trading in their offices or PHCN staff tampering with transformers you can imagine the awareness that will generate, the lives it would change and perhaps the jobs it would save.
lol Ait itslef owns staff salary several months at a time, in fact most of these organisation that should act as whistle-blower in Nigeria have 'K' leg themselves perhaps except 234Next or maybe Sahara Reporters but then again there's Youtube

Former Lobi Stars Ace Reveals Mission To Kwara

Isiaka, your goal against Heartland was quite a classic act and you celebrated it in a most hilarious manner. How would you describe that?

Yeah, the truth was that before that match, there was pressure all over us. Things did not seem to be falling in line for us and against a team like Heartland, who have years of CAF Champions League experience below their belts, we need to raise our game. We needed to win and we saw the three points as the ultimate which we must achieve in the game. And when the game dragged deep into dying minutes, I saw that freekick as a veritable chance and God answered our prayers when the kick went in.

What was the mood in your camp like before that game?

You know, Kwara United is a new team, the players were new and when things were not going our way earlier on, surely, nobody will feel fine.
All the same, we have an experienced coach, the best coach in Nigeria today. He called us together, spoke to us that we need to set a four-unbeaten match target for ourselves starting from the match against Heartland. He said that we must win it  and we responded positively.

Are you saying that victory over Heartland is the turning point for Kwara United?

It is possible to say yes. We felt afterwards that having beaten Heartland, we can do better. Reason is that our self confidence came back. We began  to believe
in ourselves and you can see how we carried that winning mentality to Jos against JUTH.
We told ourselves that the worst result we can get would be a draw. And when we got the first goal, we knew that our target could be achieved.

Your victory in Jos now stretches your record to two unbeaten runs so far…

(Cuts in) Yes, by this weekend, it could be three games  unbeaten. And then the possibility of our achieving our four-match unbeaten run is there.

And your match this weekend happens to be against your former team, Lobi Stars. Are you saying Lobi Stars must fall?

The match against Lobi Stars is the third in the four match-unbeaten target. Yes, it was my former team, a team I served for close to five or six years. I had fond memories of the team. I achieved great feats with them including appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup. But then, this is business. In the line of action, there are no friendship, no compassion.
We are going for our three points and we have to get it. Last season, we finished fourth on the table and picked the WAFU Cup ticket. This time, our target is to win the league and get a hand on the CAF Champions League next year.
Playing in Sagamu is another reason why we must beat Lobi Stars. That is going to be our first match there and we want to make the people happy so that we lure them to our side with victory and good performance.

If you have such fond memories of Lobi Stars, tell us, why did you leave them?

I left Lobi Stars because I want to stay close to my family. My family is in Ilorin while I was in Lobi Stars for that long period. This time, I decided to come closer to them, re-unite with them. There is nothing greater than returning from training or match and staying with ones kids and wife. For me, it gives me an added inspiration. My wife is from Ilorin. Even myself, I was born and brought up in Ilorin and so it is a very nice place for me.

Are you saying you were not attracted by the mega cash which Governor Bukola Saraki was dishing out to Kwara United?

It is not all about money. I told you earlier on that the need to be closer to my family was the major reason I decided to come to Kwara United last season. So all the other factors like welfare package are secondary
though they are important as well. Don’t forget that playing under great coaches like Kadiri Ikhana can also influence one’s choice of club. In all, I love the atmosphere in Ilorin. I love the team too and I am happy here at Kwara United.
I know that you have a couple of friends at Heartland.
Yes, players like, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Akpan Bassey, we call him Mosquito. We were together at the national team and the Beach Eagles team together. There are others too.

So what was the feeling like amongst yourselves before that match?

(Laughs!). It was a funny one. We cracked jokes amongst ourselves. Myself and Ogbonnaya Okemiri told them that the game would go our own way, that we were going to win so they better forget  it and think more of picking their own win in Owerri. It was a lovely joke and we cherished it.

So after the game what happened?

Nothing. The only thing I can recall was that I told Mosquito that “I told you we were going to win”.

Tell us, what is Kwara United’s target this season?

Our target is to win the league. At the moment, we are hovering around the top six or thereabout. We want a
situation where by we will climb to the top of the table and remain there until the end of the season. Once we get there, surely it will become permanent.

What is your candid assessment of the league so far?

For me, the league is till too early to be assessed. The only assessment I can give is the fact that referees are now doing very well. At least, many of them. A team can now go to away matches, play well, and the referee gives them that level playing ground such as we got in Jos against JUTH.
The man who officiated that game was fantastic. Not just because we won but because the referee was very upright, fair and firm enough.

You are talking about referee Abdullahi Shuiabu from Kastina

I don’t even know his name or where he came from. What I’m saying is that he was excellent the way he handled the match.

Thank you Isiaka for your time.

You are welcome.

Barely 24 hours after the Nigeria Premier League announced a N2.6 billion, four year sponsorship deal with MTN, represented by Total Promotions, the Nigeria Football Federation are trying to get the decision reversed.

MTN beat telecommunications rivals Glo to the rights, but the NFF have described the decision as 'unacceptable'.

"The Nigeria Football Federation has expressed utter displeasure over the failure by the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) board to carry the Federation along in its recent sponsorship bid round," a statement from NFF Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire read.

Your Location and happenings around you  goes a long way in affecting your mentality.
Naija is unique and the issue of enemies is res judicata.Even our Laws(Penal Code Act) recognized JUJU/Witchcraft
U don't take them for granted or u will be grounded.Nevertheless,as a Born Again Christian we should place more emphasis on what GOD Can do than the Devil(Using humans as his instruments).Hence, the works of our enemies should be de-emphasized.
Are you serious? So i can sue someone for using juju to steal my wife for example?
