thehomer: I think ambassadors are expected to report whatever they do in their host countries.
It's quite interesting to note that the U.S actually desires a free and fair election in Nigeria even more than many Nigerians. not nigerian ambassadors they are expected to report on current Real Estate trends and advance payment methods |

The commissioner for transportation, Bamidele Badejo, during a ministerial briefing on April 8, said government noticed the situation and is working at correcting it.
“The state government is not comfortable with the activities of touts considering the enormity of their unacceptable activities such as issuance of fake documents and outright duping people of their hard earned money. Either way the members of the public are the losers,” the commissioner said.
“To stop these vices, the government is working on a programme designed to protect the interest of top executives and other members of the public who on the account of their schedule do not have the luxury of time to access MVAA’s products and who often times fall prey to touts. A programme for registration and certification of middlemen has commenced with MVAA, VIO and the Nigerian Police collaborating actively on this. The certified agents would fill the vacuum expected from total elimination of touts or illegal middle men.” nextsharp sharp Long story short, she told me to give her N3,000 to avoid paying N50,000 if we went to the station. She danced along to Wande Coal’s “Bumper to Bumper” playing on my radio as I drove along, looking for a cash machine. I ended up giving her N2,000, and she advised me to make sure I carried my driver’s licence at all times.
The next day, I went to the driver’s licence office at Ojodu Berger. I walked in, asked a few questions, and was told to fill out a form. Regular licence fee was N5,000 and express would cost an additional N1,000. I did all that. A few hours later, I had my photo taken, and I was told to return the next week for the licence. No driving test, no proof that I could drive. So this is how all those lunatics on Lagos roads got their licences. I feel the bloating coming on already. Licensed to kill 234next |

Akainzo: See where you got it wrong, Lagos State government does not issue driver's licenses but FRSC, which happens to be a federal institution. I would have loved for states to be issuing it though as Lagos would be able to control of the blind people with drivers license in Nigeria. The issue is drivers license has been made a form of identity and thus almost everyone has to have one whether they drive or not. based on this, even blind people do get one to enable them make transactions in the banks many thanks for the correction, the way ive heard people talk about it is as if tehy are going to the local council or some pay someone who work at the LG to sort it out- cheers |

I have a problem with what they are doing because it causes division. The Sarakis are vipers in our midst. How? do you have a problem with the interracial girl at your work place too? will the people of kwara live get better infrastructure if their governor was a Yoruba/hausa/igbo? there's division in Ogun state, perhaps he is also from Anambra via Bayelsa |
Politics › Re: Saraki An Egba Man? by DisGuy: 8:25pm On Dec 07, 2010 |
Abagworo: Saraki once used his own mouth to claim malian Fulani origin. It will be a shame if proven that he is an Egba man.
One lesson episodes like this should teach us Nigerians is to accept everybody as a citizen of wherever he is born or settled as long as he is a Nigerian. True, most people we refer to as hausa are fulanis some are not even fulanis some are something else we dont know whilst some have links ot niger, chad, etc etc |
Politics › Re: Lagos Plans To Instigate Nationwide Petrol Shortage by DisGuy: 8:20pm On Dec 07, 2010 |
Kobojunkie: You mentioned earlier having Lagos sit at a round table of some sorts with FRSC, am that article there tells you that even the agency does not seem serious about doing much to alleviate the problems in Nigeria, talk less of Lagos. They seem more content with having their annual ceremony to remember the dead, than they are about actually working to reduce the number of casualties. LASTMA extortion issues aside, this project is for WITHIN Lagos, not for outside of Lagos. Granted implementation is where issue end in Nigeria, but I still wonder if people understand what this idea is really about.
Also, with the recent removal of the ban on importation of older vehicles, I believe this is what we need now, and not later, because we are likely to witness an increase in number of death traps on our roads in the coming year. No i'm not talking about those ceremonial round table, more of a Lagos led round table (with the usually offensive and perhaps some sort of aggressive stance) with FRSC getting a complimentary invite not necessarily to led- perhaps they will be forced to shape up even if it only in Lagos. And i'm certain many states in the SW will back their fellow ACN governor with massive support from the residents |
Politics › Re: Lagos Plans To Instigate Nationwide Petrol Shortage by DisGuy: 8:02pm On Dec 07, 2010 |
Kobojunkie: The above is of the FRSC. Does that seem one that is even working to improve the situation at all? Sorry I don't really get this, you talking about the stats by FRSC. . . oyb: this sums it up. maybe if the attackers of lasg lose their loved ones to a trailer with bad brakes , 8 of 12 tires functioning , 'clutch wey dey misbehave' they will understand I made sure any time we were stuck in traffic or on any motorway my uncle move away from trailer and those huge truck carrying containers, and i saw two that actually got stuck- on almost flipped over but was 'shocked' and offloaded quickly The problem is Lagos is concentrating on revenue collection under the guise of traffic offence with LASTMA often for minor issues but on the whole they lasg can do a lot more within Lagos itself a huge percentage of cars in Lagos can be shipped or or made to undergo stringent test after all they have a database from M.O.T receipts making laws that are not implemented is making no efforts at all |

desgiezd: Here's a man who would refer to himself as "Oloye" while in the south but would prefer to be called "Malam" whenever he crosses River Niger towards the north. Now the son is proud to say he is "Bukola Abubakar Saraki", the "Abubakar" that has been so silent before the issue of presidential campaign came up. actually its people that refer to him as that, even nobody refer to themselves as mallam either the sarakis are smart allowing people call them whatever are people from benue and kogi northerners or southerners? If you call Jarus a northerner he'll answer if you call him a Yoruba he'll answer to that too some people construe that to mean they are playing smart to gain some sort of advantage Sarakis are aliens from pluto |

The state government can address this issue first then make it mandatory that all drivers' actually go for a course too many suicidal drivers in lagos |
