Why was the school closed?

And what is the strike for?

Seems strike in nigerian schools are usually about the lecturers asking for more pay
but the students don't strike to get better infrastructure undecided

LMAO imagine o, so what happens to the money budgeted for the project this year??

You better pray he gets back or else you will have to start all over again making contacts! goodluck

The teams from plateau are taking a terrible beating this season, seems all their players have gone on exile ever since the riots

Ogoli’s death ruins Ocean’s first league win
Ocean Boys recorded a long overdue first win of the season when they defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-0 on Sunday. But the victory came at a cost as the club’s left back, Emmanuel Ogoli died during the match.

Ogoli slumped on the pitch in the 39th minute of play and after efforts at resuscitating him failed, he was rushed into an ambulance. He was confirmed dead on the way to the hospital.

The former Bayelsa United skipper only recently returned to first team duties with the former league champions after suffering a knee injury in a week two Premier League game against Plateau United at the Samson Siasia Stadium on November 14 following a clash with Plateau United’s Obinna Nwokolo.
R.IP

I think the NPL should enhance their medical checks, most of these players moving from club to club we never hear of medical test just sign on fees bla bla bla they should all sign up for health insurance schemes

@House 9ice thread well my 2cent for those of you who would be coming to the US come Jan 2011,  am gonna advice you realistically on what i know happens in the US , coming to the US to improve your chances in life is not a bad idea but at the same time you must be careful in as much as the UNITED STATES is a land of opportunities it could also be a land of misery and psychological torture if you are not mentally prepared, getting a visa to the united states tooo miii signifies the beginning of your hussle in life but people sometimes think it is the end and life cant get any worser,  its good you understand that life anywhere isnt a bed of rose, just the way you cant pick money on the streets of Nigeria that the same way you cant pick money on the streets of america and the bills compared to Nigeria comes in every month soo please am happy when i see thread members go to the embassy and are issued visas,  so please as you come for your studies come Jan pls make sure you are prepared FINANCIALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY note that coming for vacation is quite different from coming for studies because even after your done studying getting a good job is another crazy task on its own,  i have seen lots of Nigerians here with students visas derail they are neither there nor here, and again dont believe everything you are told on the phone,  as a student am sure you all know you cant work for at least a year getting jobs on campus is like waiting for the world to come to an end ,  be prepared PSYCHOLOGICALLY thats very very important

@buuky congrats

ciao

And how has Daggash been campaigning, you barely even hear a word from that man.
You my friend have not been watching NTA news, this dude with the FCT minister have been showinga lil bit of desperation just cos you dont read it in the newspaper dont mean they are not doing it!

Two ministers who have been in the forefront of the campaign for the actualisation of Jonathan’s 2011 presidential ambition are Bala Mohammed, minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and Mohammed Sanusi Daggash, minister of works.
Daggash
On his part, Dagash said he has been in mainstream politics in the past twelve years and that has given him the privilege and the opportunity to assess some leaders. “For leadership, first of all, you need accessibility, secondly, you need a leader that listens, three, a leader must have the disposition of an ideal leader;  an ideal leader that will not intimidate those he works with or those he is superintending over, supervising or even those he is leading.”  He said that having worked with Jonathan; he has found in him that persona of an ideal leader. According to Daggash, “what makes it quite refreshing is the very humble beginning of this great gentleman, one who is not ashamed to tell anyone where he is coming from.  He is somebody who does not excessively express himself with regards to his inner thoughts.  He is somebody who is very candid, humorous, extremely loving and respects everybody who works with him whether you are his subordinate, a peer or even if you are above him.”He believes that the Northern politicians who are opposed to Jonathan’s candidacy are a few articulate elite who are not in the main stream of Nigerian politics today. In addition, he said that the issue of zoning cannot be exclusive.

Minister donates office to pro-Jonathan
The Minister of Works, Senator Sanusi Daggash, has called on all Nigerians to support Jonathan`s presidential ambition, so as to enable him complete the good works he has started.

The minister made the call at the commissioning of the Borno state chapter of the Goodluck Support Group secretariat donated by him in Maiduguri the state capital.

The location of the Goodluck Support Group Organisation gives us great access and easy exposure to our supporters and volunteers all over the state. they are undoubtedly the best, most committed group of volunteers ever assembled, we invite everyone to join in the enthusiasm and excitement as we march towards victory in the forthcoming elections".

From all these written here, i've not seen where it's written that GEJ did a bad thing. All i've been seeing is a sign of a good patriot with good intention. His greatest undoing is the looters he surrounded himself with.

Career › Re: 1,500 Nigerians Lose Jobs In Julius Berger Abuja by DisGuy: 6:58pm On Dec 10, 2010
the purge which affected all its branches was necessitated by the delay in releasing payments to the company by the government for jobs already executed.
This is just indirect tactics by JB to release money for contracts executed or those in the pipeline, in fact most contractors say this anyway- this is their number one reason for late work bla blah blah

No sensible company (with loads of reserve like JB) will really lay off productive staff in the name of delayed payment - na just media attention jorr

@sweetT

yeah right. third class with good jobs - AND 10 years younger than the poster or 15 years younger.
who'll consider a 33 year old man,
with a third class
which took him  double time to get
for a "good job" ?

besides when investing in a candidate for employment ,this high paying
corps aint as foolish as you think to splash money on folks.

its more lik to groom them for the long haul that's why you see some
people with 30 years experience in a particular industry.
such people can easily ascend to CEO at the end of the day.

parry that with a prospective applicant who'se over 30 and you see why
they may not want to consider you - no matter the shine-ness of your degree.

33 or 35/36 after you get the second paper + 30 + 35 years puts you
at 70+

how many ceo today do you see at that age?! (i stand to be corrected)

sorry guy. age counts.
Nigerian companies really splash money developing their staffs to that level? I've always taught most people save up on their own for further studies/development
I doubt many employers see their recruits as future CEO,in fact I wonder if employees ever raise to the very top from entry level, rarely read of long serving employees in this environment they always fall out or branch out one way or the other.

interesting

@most

What's your first degree in?

Take the I.T route as suggested; age and first degree is usually not a barrier as long as you are good and you'll need to up your networking skills whether you travel out or not

did you just finish, or what have you been doing ever since
