Politics › Re: Saraki Endorses Daughter As Pdp Governorship Candidate by DisGuy: 3:36pm On Sep 19, 2010
How can it be arrant nonsense? The father endorses his child, that doesn't mean Kwara PDP endorses the candidate!!

It is upto PDP to come out with heavyweights the allow the conference choose their candidate

Just because one man endorse a candidate don't mean the candidate is the overall winner when there's a party election coming up. The problem with some politician is they are not brave enough and always looking for favour without contesting they are always scared of opposition just like Jonathan!

I wonder what Bio what waiting for before, Bukola has his own candidate he will be backing and others will be waking up now after the double Saraki show, the old man will eventually be promised deputy governor or something else to ease his old grip!

well it's obvious from this thread that there are a lot of bitter Glo staff  and sincerely methinks even if these people are giving the best jobs in the world they will still complain, lessons will be learnt in all of this but i think it's a campaign to smear the company. better part of these people will promise heaven and earth that they can deliver, work under pressure, blah blah blah! at the interview stage but reverse will always be the case. the money is definitely good,(which they have also not mentioned) but they all want it on a platter of gold. my take on this is people should try and open up their own businesses, become employers of labor and see things from that perspective, i agree with one of the posters, there are many waiting in line to do thesame job, with much enthusiasm and same pay  that the lad was doing.  cool
phew

I noticed whenever nigerians complain about a compnay, Arik, AIT, Banks etc someone somewhere will be willing to defend these companies with the go and start your own company, seems some people have resigned to teh usual faith of your employers are doing you a favour or the banks are doing you a favour, someone complain about being shoved into a glass and being locked up by airline official all we get is- it is teh customers fault lipsrsealed

Very sad people that know no better, just go to church and donate to your holy father

nother company mentioned in the story is Doiyatec Communications, owned by the Israeli arms dealer Amit Sade, who has been operating in Nigeria for years and is considered close to the leadership there. He is particularly known for his close ties with Yayale.

One investigative report stated that Sade serves as Yayale's "point man." Another report claimed that Doiyatec Communications is a conglomerate comprised of seven companies, and that Yayale is a partner in all or some of them.

Sade holds Israeli and German citizenship. He is approaching 40 and is considered a man of mystery. He is very protective of his privacy, dislikes public exposure and maintains few ties with other Israelis.

After his military service, he worked as a shooting instructor for an Israeli security consulting firm that trained security guards for oil facilities in Angola. From there, he went to Nigeria. Until a decade ago, he was seen as a small-scale security consultant.

He was also involved in the construction of a mall in Lagos together with Alon Nelkin, an Israeli who lived in Nigeria for years, as well as a few other not particularly large deals. The big turning point in his life came around six years ago, when, together with Nelkin, he brokered a huge deal worth $250 million: a sale of drones and unmanned boats made by Aeronautics Defense Systems of Yavneh (Sade and Nelkin have since parted ways due to a dispute ). The deal was reported in Haaretz, and that led to complications.

knowing the Koreans wouldnt give up, he should have just allow them play 5-4-1 and counter attack when the chance comes

And teh girls were enjoying the ayyyyyyyyyyye, ayeeeeeeee the nigerian fans were shouting which I think was irritating after a while for an age grade tournament perhaps the referee was pissed off too

Pls i would like useful advice especially from our Ghanaian based friends as i would be going for my honeymoon soon.
Depending on where/what part of Ghana you are going to you can get 3/4 star hotels from $50/night
they have loads of information online

Represented by his deputy, Mrs. Sarah Sosan, the governor revealed that a major challenge facing the provision of the model college was the acquisition of land for that purpose, but was quick to assure that government was doing everything to ensure that the school was provided in that locality.
the govt found it very easy to lock out these people when it was 'privatising the roads leading to their villages yet it is finnding it difficult to acquire land to build a school in an area where there is none, no water no electricity
so if they didn't protest the Lekki express way they wont be getting anything

people having pampers and milk in their locker doesn't sound like social work to me, sounds more like charity workers or perhaps individuals doing 'social' work
Politics › Re: Lagos State Buys An Hotel In Uk. by DisGuy: 5:32am On Sep 15, 2010
Commissioner for Tourism and Inter-Governmental Relations, Mr. Tokunbo Afikuyomi, said in Lagos on Wednesday that the money spent on the acquisition of the hotel was sourced from a local bank, according to News Agency of Nigeria.

"We defied the odds and won the highly competitive bid to make this history for Lagos by buying the first yacht hotel in Africa and Middle East," he said.

He explained that part of the 4.4 billion naira paid for the boat would be used to upgrade it to the specified standard.

Afikuyomi said that the hotel would be formally inaugurated at the end of August this year.

He said that the presence of the boat in the country, would enhance the chances of Nigeria, hosting major international sports events and conferences.

According to the Commissioner, the state government decided to acquire the hotel to bridge the gap in the number of hotel rooms in the state.

He said that the hotel would also put Lagos in the league of world’s big cities with five-star hotels of global standards.

Afikuyomi said that the hospitality industry was very critical to the resuscitation of the Nigerian economy as it would encourage the influx of foreign tourists.

He cited the experience of South Africa, which he said, recorded increase in its tourism revenue from 47.8 billion rand in 2004 to 55.9 billion rand in 2005, rising by 17 per cent.

Afikuyomi listed Dubai, Kenya and Ghana as some of the countries that are already reaping the benefits of tourism.

He said that the state would continue to initiate Private Public Partnership (PPP) to fund tourism projects as and when necessary.

I think the question is of what benefit is this 'Education' (Wherever you get it) to Nigeria.
Like they say, the greatest asset of a nation is its manpower.

It doesn't matter how much ground Nigerians are breaking outside Nigeria,
The question is How does this feed back into the nation?

So far people have mentioned EVERYTHING that is wrong with our Educational system
and it is the truth. Our system doesn't allow for proper thinking and an actual education.
The environment is so anti-change it is ridiculous. still, this shouldn't be the begining and end of us.

The mini-research i had to do recently showed that Nigerians, have the same brain and capacity
to Innovate, the same natural aptitude for creativity. But what is going wrong?

As a people in Nigeria, we need to wake up, and stop the 'Follow' 'Follow' mentality
We are the biggest flock of sheep ever! Our greed is eating us deep.
Money!!, Money!!The Nigerian's religion
Our ancestors were ingenious, what is stopping us??

the question should be who has he beaten? I mean nigerian can claim top spot in Africa football but they get whooped outside the continent

Who are the proper fighters warming up to fight peter, why is he not the one making the call but he is being used as the last minute man when deals break down,

David Haye has fought only 3/4 times in the heavyweight division yet he is ranked higher than Sam peters with his over 30wins and Sam peters will probably continue to be used as a warm up guy or 'vacant title' filler, you know them ones they call seat warmers wink

Ola Afolabi in the cruiser weight division does not go to lagos to collect money all in the name of promoting nigeria with the promise to build gym arenas all over the city cool

Make sam peters come take ex- IGP Onovo do sparring partner

@ poster

We all know that Nigeria does not have a functioning social system that is why we need people to be innovative enough to start something. Two words research and lobby, because it is not readily available doesn't mean you cannot start something.

Also you seem to be more interested in money, just saying if u were more interested in the state of social care that would ve been better. So i don't think u care much really.

Best of luck.
if he or she is more interested in the money I doubt he/she will even be thinking of Nigeria.
After spending perhaps £12k-30K obtaining a degree i wonder where the energy to lobby some deaf politicians will come from
