Tell your cousin it's 'fake'loooong thing, the way i understand it from the little i read on their website; the program is designed by immigration lawyers to assist qualified immigrants to apply for visa
basically using HSMP as an exmple, you can go online to calculate your score, if you get the required number of points, you qualify then go into a draw with this agent who will help you apply after paying in some money those that meet the requirement and pay their fees will get their 'green card'- they choose one out of millions who's paid their application fee to apply without charging them i think
it's like entrying a prize draw with payment |

what PTI warri like at the moment?
Is the head a Mallam from katsina?
Are the local councillors, House Reps, Senators and Governors supporting it? or are they just leaving it as the FGs responsibility?
Whats the percentage of northerners at the school |
Politics › Re: FG Reverses On Warri PTI Upgrade by DisGuy: 1:15pm On Jul 23, 2009 |
what the koko of the matter?
so an institute will not be called 'university'- does that in anyway impair on the duties of those running it?
the only thing that wont be upgraded is the name right? did they in anyway say funding wont be made available next year?
Will there be an uproar also if the govt decide to build a university somewhere else?
whenever an HQ is to be built theres always little noise over where it should be sited- some will argue it should be in Abuja so the govt can always apportion money to it, some will say it should be in the community where its meant to serve- we spend so much time shouting over little little things! |

larez: Thanks Dis Guy, you can see why I was frustrated. It was a lengthy one, and I would have hated to know that all that effort was in vain. Thanks once again. I understand , does my head in too! been reporting it to the site owner- he is currently finetuning the software mahal: If we say the NIA have failed us by not creating a solid base or institution for the profession in Nigeria, and frustrating the young architects by all mean they can, what can we do as the younger generation of Architects in Nigeria to salvage the situation?
Frankly, i believe the Older generation of architects have no fresh ideas in their heads anymore thus, creating this stagnant state we find ourselves in this field, but they still wield the mace and make all the laws regulating the practice in Nigeria. it's clear they get all the major jobs, hand i over to the young ones without making much input, determine and collect the fees for the job and pay the young studio architects peanuts. some even go the extent of keeping worker for months without pay. Sadly, this cuts across and is obtainable most firms if not all architecture firms in the country. Any suggestion, good or bad is welcomed. How about inviting some senior architects, to the forum via their website or perhaps organise something for New/younger Architects, read something not too long ago about Law firms having a minimum wage sort of thing where the freshers are not used like slaves |

Access to CNN, Internet led to stock market crash’ A fresh but curious reason emerged on Friday on why the Nigerian Stock Market crashed. The Director-General, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Prof. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, atributed the crash essentially to the exposure of many Nigerian investors to international news channels and the Internet.
Okereke-Onyiuke, who also described the NSE as the second best in the world, mentioned the Cable News Network, the Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) and Bloomberg as such news channels.
She explained that Nigerians who had access to the Internet and watched the effects of the global financial meltdown in the developed economies via those news channels she listed, panicked and subsequently dumped their shares. Proshare |

lived in the same state for some few years, never watched NTA-thats the only nigerian channel up there then and it wasn't clear-so everyone I know including Igbos, hausa, Mediterranean watch satellite tv 24/7
many of them end up going to Egypt, Dubai Saudi Arabia for their higher education, don't see anything particularly wrong with that- after all there are American(affiliated) universities in these countries and visa is relatively easier |

And it's not like they are using the money to develop the road and improve security Airport users and air travellers in the country are complaining of the large potholes in the car park of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
Commuters and taxi owners have said that the deep holes, which seem to have worsened since the onset of the rainy season, damage their vehicles.
"How will I say it to my friends that my bumper was disfigured at the airport's basin-hole-filled car park?" said Stanley Chijioke, a car owner who was at the airport to receive his friend who arrived the country [from abroad].
He noted that the money collected at the park's entrance is not visible at the park, stressing that the airport authorities need to do more to address the infrastructural problems at the nation's premier airport.
"For crying loud this is an international airport, and you don't expect us to pay at the gate just to come and have our vehicles smashed, or have or tyres punctured," he said. 234Next |

Sam Milla: Stop calling your elected president names. His name is Yar'adua.
Mend attacked Oil facility in Lagos. Lagos is not in the North. Basically they are targetting FG and not Northerners.
Kidnapping their representatives will change nothing because we know how our federal government system works.
Senators representing them votes for tehir cause but unfortunately they always got outvoted by the majority who come from up North there.
Bombing the president's house is not targeting the federal government. Its targeting individual properties.
Yar'adua might be the president but i am sure there are far more powers behind some of his decissions up there in the North. So when they say north, Then they mean north.\ biggest lie! theres nothing to indicate where voters are from in the senate, keep deceiving your that some people are voting against the south, all the senate preseident does is shouting aye or nay, there are no recrods to show some people are voting against some people! Your politicians are meant to be gathering support and not acting like them vs us, not like they do much anyway tehy are all the same! |
Politics › Re: Hurray!Northern Senators Back Down On Resource Control, State Creation by DisGuy: 10:54pm On Jul 16, 2009 |
I like this reporter sha Northern Senators Back Down On Resource Control, State Creation By Adetutu Folasade-Koyi, Assistant Editor, Abuja
Northern Senators have changed their opposition to an increase in oil derivation from 13 per cent to 50 per cent, and now want exploration of mineral resources in the region.- i like as this reporter put am 'NOW WANT'
The U-turn came less than a month of their rejection of the idea, and that of creation of states demanded especially by the South East.
The Northern Senators, Forum (NSF) said exploration of mineral resources in the North should also attract derivation mandated by the Constitution.
,,We cannot see why there won,t be oil in the North when a desert country like Libya has oil; when Chad and Cameroon have oil,,, a Northern Senator argued.
And ,,seriously speaking, he added, ,,none of us would oppose state creation because there are some states in the North that favour carving out states from the present arrangement.
,,For instance, in Bauchi, there is the agitation for Katagum State and in Benue, a call for the creation of Apa State. So, you can see that it pays the North to go along with the South on state creation.,,
It was also learnt that the Presidency has reached out to the NSF to co-operate on the remaining four of the six electoral reform Bills in the National Assembly (NASS)._ smart 'Dul guy, forget the southerner and their big turanchi debating this and that, went straight to those that co-operate
Besides, the NSF is considering meeting with the SSF to ,,agree on areas that would be amended in the Constitution and how they would jointly benefit us. We have since realised that there is no need for friction.- i wonder if SS senators meet their SE counterpart talk less of SW senators!!
,,There are certain aspects of the Constitution amendment that would benefit the entire country. So, the NSF feels there is need for both groups to meet,,, said a source who attended the NSF meeting last Thursday.
The NSF has three core areas it wants Aso Rock to concentrate on in the 2010 budget: agriculture, energy, and mineral resources.
,,We are going to tell the Presidency that more funds need to be allocated to agriculture. In the past, the North was acclaimed for its agricultural prowess. We need to regain that glory and be the food basket of the nation once more.- these are proper reps!!
,,On energy, we are going to parley with the Presidency on the alternative source of energy. Nigeria can do it, because we have the resources.
,,We are looking at wind energy which can be tapped from a state like Katsina. Exploration of wind energy can work in the North just as there is crude oil in the Niger Delta.,, |

cheri see calculations abeg! and to be honest i think the title is misleading the northerner senators basically change their mindthey didnt 'back down' per se, not like the southerner senators put them under pressure (not that they do much anyway!) the senators just changed their mind like they get to choose what they want! |

Expert calls for industry-based share reconstructionFollowing calls by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and other stakeholders in the Nigerian capital market on the need for banks, insurance companies and other quoted companies to reconstruct their shares to manageable level, an expert in the Nigerian capital market, Mr. Tunde Adeyemi, has called on the regulatory authorities to adopt an industry-based capital restructuring approach in this regard.
He also bemoaned the effect the high number of issued shares posed on the earnings of quoted companies. According to Adeyemi, who is a Senior Research Fellow, Davids Business Academy and Managing Director, DHTL Capital Management Limited, there is an urgent need for the authorities in the capital market to review their listing and post-listing requirements, pegging the number of issued shares for each sector in the capital market.
He noted that pegging the maximum number of shares to be distributed by quoted companies, will help guide the companies in the reconstruction of their shares and also help increase the value of the companies.
He said, “The NSE’s decision to increase the nominal value of shares to N1, is a step in the right direction, but is not the only step to be taken in ensuring a proper share reconstruction exercise by these companies. There is the need for the authorities to introduce an industry-based capital restructuring, pegging the number of issued shares in each sector. This will guide the companies in undertaking share reconstruction and will help give value to their shares.”vanguardGood or bad ? |
