moneygurl:
The govt needs to get rid of Molue's and the only way they can do that is to have more BRT and LAGBUS buses, improve water transportation and get the rail transportation going.
it will be totally unreasonable for the govt to get rid of molues, same thing happening in oshodi will happen if he ban them now, when there are no alternatives people will go back to what they are use to especially something in great demand! there was no alternative for people selling in Oshodi, parking laws are relaxed again and gradually we get back to square one.

And these are genuine business anyway, what the govt should do for those not willing to give up their bus for BRT/LAGBUS is to insist on very high MOT standards that expires every three months! special drivers license, compulsory insurance and tax. that way those lazy operators will join the lagbus union or fix up with tighter regulations

typical nigerian answer, always passing the bulk.the governor having put things aright is left for lagosians as a whole to maintain such
no its not a typical nigerian answer, the stae government law enforcement agency is under him, in fact everything is under him! he takes the blame when things are bad and take the brownie points when things go well

soludo performing excellently @ cbn is a well known fact, but politics? i don't think he can be able to endure d fire in anambra politics, if it is jigawa or nasarawa state good, but wit d likes of andy uba and co in anambra? i'll advice him to settle wit commissioner, ministerial or ambassador post.
another 'ball boy' position for our  technocrats  grin
some in ehrewill have us belive he's the bees knees

But who told you Soludo will win in Anambra state, anyway we all wish him the best. If he does not win Anambra state, his short live career as a politician will come to an inglorious end. That will mean the end of any presidential dreams that he might harbour, no president in the annals of Nigerian politics has ever won without delivering their respective state, that is one of the key pre-requisite of the Job.
Na just conspiracy calculation  wink

If Soludo wants to test his popularity, let him go to the polls.

I smell something, If Yaradua had re-appointed Soludo as CBN Governor for a second term. he would have finished by 2014 and that would have made him the most qualified candidate from south east and brighten his chances to contest for 2015 presidency, Northerners did the calculation very well and saw the bright chance that would have created for him and igbo presidence agenda, They advised Yaradua not to re-appoint him as CBN governor , they know that if he is removed from national scene for such a long time as from now till 2015, his national influence would have reduced or even forgoten,
Now they are pushing him to go and contest for ordinary Anambra state governorship election, and i bait they will work to make him fail or even if he wins, they will rubish his administration, so that even if in 2011 or 2015 he decides to contest for presidency , people will say that "He couldn't even win or govern just a single state now he wanst to come and become president of Nigeria" and that will undermine his qualification and credibility.

Any way the choice is his.
you're missing something, the thing is coming south after yaradua-according to 'their' calculation
so by being governor he'd have experience of actually managing a state like yardua -so two major in-country experience plus intl bits
remember yaradua was not on teh national scene infact he was unknown (to most southerners anyway)
another angle is that yardy will be looking to appoint a better successor than himself so he gets a brownie point like tinubu

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) in an email statement also threatened to extend its operations beyond Delta State to others in the oil-rich southern region.
so obvious they have no clue or perhaps they are scared or perharp they dont know the way to the capital
Why are they hell bent of killing and kidnapping their own people? They should drive to ABUJA!

Most bad roads in Lagos belongs to the FG
And as Ferma has refused to work, we are left to suffer.
Everyone is focusing on Abuja. . . . .Check the Oshodi -Apapa Expressway, Abeokuta Road, Lagos Badagry Express.
It will still come back to the state government, why cant they repair the road and claim the expense back from the FG

dont know why they have to throw the match like that under normal circumstances (going by nigerian lague trend)
Zamfara would have won they were the home team

Bayelsa United’s 2008/09 Globacom Premier League title victory celebration was cut short
on Sunday when their captain, Abel Tabor, was shot dead by armed
robbers that same night.
The Yenagoa side’s
media officer, Ebi Abi, confirmed in a telephone interview with the
News Agency of Nigeria on Monday that Tabor was on his way to Warri
from Oghara, the club’s training base when the incident occurred.

Have anyone noticed that Soludo is the most talked about man on NairaLand, after Yaradua.
He just got removed and he's still being talked about.
This guy might be a phenomenum, as a matter of fact, the messiah of our generation. And I mean not just for Anambra state.
Maybe we've just lost a huge chance.
easy bros, he'll play the game just like anyone else, competency will be replaced with quota, ngige's boys, plus Uba's boy and a bit of this and that to please everyone then the draft a former bank Director(female) as Deputy
I'll still;l choose Fashola over him though

Politics In Naija, a win or die game

Would Soludo delve into this?? am only worried for him. He can do better than he has already done, than going into contest. let him rather be appionted as a Minister or commissioner, than contesting, my worst fear for him,
In all wish him luck.
No let him be a man!
so you all like pdp now eh?
i dont pity 'good' candidate (duke, Soludo*) that join PDP only to cry foul when they get pushed aside

so lets see, after one/two terms he goes head to head with FASHOLA for presidency grin

What I meant was that if they start asking for pictures now, small time they would start asking for the addresses to be listed too and someone who purchases a property on the internet, worth N25M for example, could be an easy target for men of the underworld.

If someone can afford to buy a N100M property, any thief knows that if they go there, they would hit the jackpot no matter what. And if you are one of those that keep your money in the bank and not under the bed, the robbers might think you are lying and lose patience with you and could harm you or kill you in the process, so buyer's safety needs to be greatly considered smiley
by posting pictures and address, there's no way anyone will know the eventual buyer
Till date I don't think anyone has been mugged on the auto section where pictures are posted

getting internship in naija is not that hard, many hospitals begging for workers

public health? I don't think universities in nigeria offer public health(some might though), many people i know go out of the country to do the course

have you seen this? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-281576.0.html

ask yourself, why arent citizens from other african countries going to nigeria for uni
why dont universities in nigeria advertise for 'international' students considering they can
make more revenue charging standard fees

Bayelsa Utd and Heartland FC will go to champions league next year except maybe Heartland wins it and Enyimba (who'll finish 3rd) would then step up ( I am not so sure if it works that way).

Pillars only chance to return to Africa next year is to win either the Champions League or FA cup.
when does the FA cup start?
Thought they'll be playing this along with the premier league
or they have a special slot for this, thus extending football season in naija?

Bayelsa Utd (1) is playing away against Wolves (4)
Heartland (2) is playing away against Niger (6)

I see no upset, perhaps a draw. Even if Heartland wins, bayelsa is still going to the champions league
how many teams go to the champions league and how many go to the confederation cup?

An unemployed Nigerian guy (with Phd) abroad got a new job at the zoo. They
offered him to dress up in a gorilla's skin and pretend to be a gorilla so people will keep coming to the zoo. On his first day on the job, the guy puts on

one acrobatic attempt, though, he loses his balance and crashes through some safety netting, landing square in the middle of the lion cage! As he lies

Ndipe:
Neither have I. Have you all noticed the irony that it is mostly the rich men/women who suffer from infertility/barreness, while the poor have multitudes of children, why is that?

maybe
because 'rich' people usually have a more stressful life, work plenty hours, think about education for themselves and their kids constantly, looking for latest avenue to make more money, they also tend to eat more processed food-fast food, canned food, etc

I think some people have the feeling that- 1 out of atleast 10 of their kids will make it, that way they will take care of them in their old age, it's like social/economic security and in some cases when the man says 'lets play' to his wife/wives, she cant say no-i just had one 9months ago!!!!

theres also the , waiting for a boy or girl child- some couple keep humping waiting for the golden boy or girl
after 5 boys/girls they just want to try one more time

another theory is why mess with nature, you'll hear children are a blessing not knowing its not a blessing when you can take care of them
