And finally, another match of the tournament, again. And finally, after a few days of mortals taking center stage, football's god (and greatest player that was, that is and is to come) descends from his throne of goals to bless the otherwise ordinary World Cup with the gloriousness of his existence and the wondrousness of his footballing being. And finally, Leo Messi plays. Today the supernatural meets with the natural.

Emaprince:After December 18? Sure. |
Imagine being married with grown kids and a husband to worry and care about but worried about what a female in her 20's is doing with her love life privately. And your grouse is, he's a failed Yahoo boy. You mean you'd have been more comfortable if he were a 'successful' Yahoo boy? That in itself tells the kind of person you are - money by any means. |
Just because I deliberately go overboard to taunt other fans in the extolling of Messi' qualities doesn't make less him one of the two best players in the world. Just because Ronaldo fans obnoxiously attack anyone who criticises him doesn't make him less of one of the two best players of his generation. If you base you castigation and demotion of Messi' or Ronaldo's achievements in a very serious debate simply based on "you don't like how his fans behave", you've only exposed your footballing ignorance unwittingly because records are records. Virtue for virtue, record for record, pitching Peter Obi against the other two based on what Nigeria needs at this moment, you are ignorant to even castigate the man. |
diggz:Peter Obi has never claimed to be the Messiah. It's Tinubu who has actually claimed to be God by making and placing Presidents. All Peter Obi has said is he won't steal, he'd cut down on wastage and he'd get Nigeria producing again. These aren't messianic messages; these are things every right-thinking appointed or elected representative knows. The only difference is Peter Obi is the only one of the lot who's shown willingness to do so and has an enviable antecedence of doing so in an elected position. The willingness and proven antecedence are enough reasons to vote Obi, Messiah or mere mortal. |
Android17:You're dumb. I mentioned Buhari was PTF Chairman and has been Minister of Petroleum for 7+ which cumulatively give him access to more information about the oil pipeline network than anyone outside of the industry. As Petroleum Minister, oil industry giants and the security architecture built around it network and report with and to him. But you took only the PTF part because being selectively blind is easier than admitting to the truth. |
Roland17:The Jerrycan boy would obstinately argue with you and everyone else who hail from the oil-producing regions, know the places well and are knowledgeable enough to know just how deep the rot goes. Imagine insistently wanting to explain to the survivors of several robberies what their robbery experiences are like even though you've never been at the scene of a robbery. |
izzou:Pipelines were laid before Jonathan even became Governor. Private refineries existed even then. The coordinates weren't Jonathan's to give because it was public. Even Wike as Obio Akpor LGA knew these pipelines. Buhari was appointed PTF Chairman in 1994 while Jonathan was a young man. Buhari as PTF Chairman and as Minister of Petoelum for 7+ years knows more about the pipe locations than Jonathan ever will. |
izzou:83℅ of oil wells in Nigeria are owned by Northerners. Pipelines connect from the oil wells. He wants us to believe Jonathan who became GCFR in late 2010 is responsible for the oil theft which had been going on for decades or illegal oil bunkering which had been going on since GEJ was still Patience's lecturer. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/123398-83-of-nigeria-oil-blocs-owned-by-northerners-senate-committee-chair.html |
diggz:Well, with the Delta-Igbo, Anioma and related back-and-forths, I can never be too sure with them until someone from the state reiterates their stance/stand. |
Donjazet2:Biafra would be easier to achieve and you'd get the support of all of Southerners when those wanting Biafra realise the South South wants no part of Biafra. Not Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Edo. Certainly not Bayelsa too. Uncertain about all parts of Delta. Once the Biafrians stop insulting and blackmailing their 'cousins' in the SS into joining them, it'd be better for everyone. We can still be relatives without living in the same house or with same surnames. Sometimes loving from a distance is better. Biafra is a very bitter issue for many tribes in the South. Every time the propositioners bring it up and use a "one people" rallying cry, they pry open old wounds. |
Spy360:He's not -he just has less baggage of the lot. Working for Tinubu as a legal professional in that top position while BAT converted half of Lagos to his personal estate can't leave you spotless. Still, he's the most cerebral and seems more willing to get things done. |
Ellexy:I hope so. So far, it's more detailed, specific and better than all the other presidential manifestoes. It also has Obi's talking points all over it. Atiku re-released his 2019 manifesto even though are issues are different in many ways now. |
Ellexy:Is this the new manifesto? I love the design and structuring. I also love the part about restructuring of different types in pages 26 - 28. I love the infographics too. But in Page 37 when it began about human capital development, I expected at least 4 pages dedicated to feasible steps for job creation, not "we will". Something like, Nigeria's average budget in the last 3 years has been X naira. Our unemployment rate is X℅ so we'd focus on sectors A, B and C (our strong points) with the first phase lasting for 6 months with state-backed ventures for x periods. We already have a working relationship with Silicon Valley giant X, Y, Z with tax break incentives to establish X,Y, Z in 6 states for the first phase. Specifics with figures. I need feasible solutions backed with evidence for security and job creation. Those two are important and I can't see them here. They got other areas right. I hope Obi's team would expatiate on these two areas. |
Kobonaire234:I just checked: only Japan have won the Asian Cup more times (4) than the Saudis (3). There are actually s big team in a way. They don't just get the media hype. |
LincolnOnyeabor:Wasn't it obvious Argentina were going to beat the Aussies? In a way, the rude awakening by the Saudis was a good thing for Argentina. It made Argentina become cautious and taking only calculated risks while others had a false sense of possible domination. |
W.A.J.E. : Words Aren't Just Enough!

DissTroy:Unfortunately I couldn't come in to attend as it coincided with pre-planned engagements in other parts of the country, but we did make sure we did our part to push the Peter Obi campaign, even then. Gloriousgbola, see how to revell in other things other than phantom penile appendages? Now post fuel kegs.[screenshot removed] |
Saturday, 12 hours online without break, your children haven't seen their father or interacted with him, the woman is left loveless. Daddy is typing away let's not disturbing him as he's very busy. Let's just go out. Guess what daddy has been doing on Nairaland: Copying and pasting bitch ass. Life! |
GloriousGbola:From claiming I'm a nobody to claiming I've been getting all the billions from government (I wish this were true through legitimate dealings)? See how the music changes? Here's what I have done: Upload my pictures with my face, put my Telegram username out, and at intervals post screenshots of what I do at the highest level to that? What's your response to all of these? Typing bitch ass and fuel gallons. A confessed old fat man using hood/gangster lingua. The imagination of it is more hilarious than anything today. Sociopolitically, you and I are miles apart - I get involved in formulating policies and shaping my country without being under the employ of anybody and as a private individual, you complain on Nairaland. Rock and water - different. |
DissTroy:Like I stated, my skills take into any room. That's why I can get privileged information. You rant on Nairaland and post fuel kegs, I write policy documents like the one attached. ![]() Don't worry, the screenshots would be gone in no time. I've done too much for my state and region to even take you seriously. Yet I am not a registered member of any party. |
GloriousGbola:LOL. Intimidated, aren't you? This is more than posting gallons of petrol and laptops as your achievement. I wish I were in government sometimes seeing the billions flying around, but all you have to do is local-search "DissTroy Udom" or "DissTroy Akpabio" or any other officeholder, regardless of party. I'm the biggest critic of the government, even on this forum. You'd see me exposing fraud like this all over Nairaland and social media by the government. DissTroy:I'm not a member of any party. Heck! Some of the biggest beneficiaries of contracts from the FG aren't even party members. Nigerian political parties are not ideological but I support individuals I share some values with. That's why I can dislike APC but love Osinbajo and dislike PDP but love Obi. You on the other hand have only random laptops and fuel kegs going for you. Well, and weighting a tractor's weight. |
Like I stated, don't worry about me. I'm too skilled and positioned to be a social media lackey for anybody. I communicate directly with governorship candidates or slightly lower, and the direct team of the presidential candidate. That's what gets me into any room and gives me access. By the way, this particular one knows I'm active on Nairaland. ![]() [screenshot removed] |
GloriousGbola:The game is over. Don't worry about me. I've got mine going on r me. My tech startup is secured. My SAAS is in the Y-Combinator series. I have brands (including government-partnership brands) to my portfolio. You write, I get paid to write. You do your PowerPoint design, I get paid to do designs with Figma and Photoshop. You are on Facebook and other fora ranting about the elections, I write the manifestoes and communicate directly with the principals. - It's a Saturday. You've been on this thread for 11 hours and more, never going offline given your speed of reply and your number of posts. What time is left to attend to other issues? It's dusk already. You're still in a cane chair. You should be more worried about being obese and comfortable with it. Nigeria's recent average life expectancy has been pegged at 54 years. You are in your late 40's (definitely older) and fat. May your decomposing cárcáss feed thorns in a few years time! |
While men over the world are neck-deep watching the ongoing world cup match and bantering with acquaintances at the same time, what does the fat old man do? Recline on a cane chair with his walking stick, shunned by his family only to be on this page grumbling with himself. If you don't work out, see how active people who workout and keep fit are doing on TV. The most interesting thing now is this game and the analysis. Grey-haired men should wait their turn. |
We've all been party to it - speculating if he can make it 43 times in a row. There were a few contenders but he shook them off. The 2022 Winner of the Gallon d'Or for a record and consecutive time is none other than our very own Jerrycan boy! A round of applause please! A standing ovation. ![]()
|
Olowunl01:Gentlemen and ladies, and the 2022 Gallon d'Or goes to... |
GloriousGbola:The irony of Jerrycano calling a random thread creator "fát and ugly mofo" months ago. ...only to be revealed as a self-admitting old fat man who doesn't work out. GloriousGbola: GloriousGbola:Guess who has been going on about "projection" so far. ![]() |
GloriousGbola:Ever since it became obvious that your grief with me is my looks because you are self-admittedly old and fat, you lost the plot. It's just an old man reclining in cane chair with sandals cursing out at young men on a street with music cooing, caught between nostalgia for yesteryears and ruing his imminent approach to existential nothingness. Nothing we haven't see or read before. There's a particular old man in the Foreign Affairs section who detests young people. --- I hear this what you kind call an appetizer.
|
GloriousGbola: GloriousGbola: GloriousGbola: GloriousGbola:All at different times to different men on different threads in different sections of Nairaland. |
GloriousGbola:Did you a throw a burger at them? Or you simply ate them. ![]()
