@LAGOSISMYHOME THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TRYING TO COMMUNICATE! AGENTS JUST WANT MONEY WITHOUT REGARD TO SOMEONE WASTING THEIR TIME AND EFFORT.

Which would you advice a graduate certificate program or a graduate pathway program?

Is anybody aware of any school still admitting graduate business students for spring 2018?

YOU ALREADY HAVE A MASTERS DEGREE FROM A UK INSTITUTION, SO THAT WILL MAKE ANYONE QUESTION WHY YOU'RE DOING A PATHWAY GRADUATE PROGRAM IN THE US.

I totally understand you but a pathway program is not just because of the english requirement or proficiency. There are different reasons for an indivindividual to undertake the pathway program. If for instance the undergraduate gpa is low (and I fall into this category), one can do a pathway program to gain admission. I'll try to convince the VO, otherwise I'd reapply again later. Afterall, there is no harm in trying smiley

Hi everyone, first time on here.

First of all, I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of a Graduate Pathway program as I applied for a pathway program in University of South Florida (USF) through a friend of mine who is an agent to study Entrepreneurship in Applied Technologies.

He suggested that most schools (averagely priced schools) for spring 2018 had closed and that if I still wanted to make spring which is my only choice, a pathway program was the best for me. That it is even cheaper and faster in USF (around 25k, 16 months period) such that I could apply for a Ph.d asap or with my UK masters instead of wasting time.

My documents have been evaluted by WES (2.74 US equivalent undergrad and 3.57 equivalent masters)

Issues that I currently have include:

1. I already have a masters degree in International business economics from a UK university

2. I scored 297 in my GRE (q 150, v 147 awa 3.5). Used it to apply for Management Information Sciences (my 1st course choice) at Baruch college, CUNY but was rejected based on my essay and verbal score. Although, my transcript didn't get to them on time for fall 2017 and so had to be shifted but still got rejected.

Into USF ( that is what its called for pathway) requested for my transcript to complete the decision or evaluation process.

I need advice from similar experiences or educational advice to determine if I am taking the right step or not. Kindly assist please. Thanks

HELLO THERE.
BASED ON YOUR PROFILE, YOU ARE NOT THE TYPE OF STUDENT THAT GRADUATE PATHWAY PROGRAMS WAS CREATED FOR.
WHY? THE PROGRAM WAS CREATED TO CAPTURE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WHO HAVE ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE. YOU HAVE A MASTERS FROM A SCHOOL IN THE UK...SO YOU DON'T NEED A PATHWAY PROGRAM. YOU'LL HAVE A BETTER CHANCE APPLYING TO A SCHOOL THAT HAS A MAJOR THAT COMPLIMENTS, BUT IS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR MASTERS DEGREE, OR APPLYING TO A PHD PROGRAM. YOU SHOULD ALSO INVEST IN IMPROVING YOUR VERBAL & WRITING SCORE. A MASTERS DEGREE IS RESEARCHED BASED AND YOU NEED TO DEMONSTRATE THAT YOU HAVE GOOD READING COMPREHENSION AND CAN COMMUNICATE IN WRITTEN FORM.

I KNOW YOU WANT SPRING ADMISSION, BUT IT'S NOT ABOUT HOW SOON, BUT HOW WELL.

So are you saying the visa application would not be successful because I am applying for a pathway program? I thought pathway was also for people with low gre scores (whether quant or verbal deficiency) like predegree we have in nigeria.

I said spring because my sponsor would not agree to wait till next year fall so it's either now or bye bye to it

3. Since 2015 till date, rejected 4 times at different Us consulates. London, twice in belfast, abuja (family application). All were B1/B2 applications

Into USF ( that is what its called for pathway) requested for my transcript to complete the decision or evaluation process.

I need advice from similar experiences or educational advice to determine if I am taking the right step or not. Kindly assist please. Thanks

People have heard so many stories that now if Western Union is mentioned they think it is a scam!
Blame all the 419 scammers from the past. (and the ones still trying.)

The solution is open a UK account and not just any account but insist and inform the bank that u want a free account which is good for students...

Please do if you can it will save you a lot of problem but...check the exchange rate before you start transferring. Notwithstanding...its a good idea.

I'm beating myself up now for not opening back account in Nigeria the last time i visited because sending money home through western union or bank is an expensive exercise

Not only that, most stores in England don't like to give out western union funds but they always want to receive

Thanks bro, will do just that.

There is no option for the WAEC except a police report. WAEC results cannot be replaced when lost or stolen. Alternatively, you can use your print out as well as a police report

For the check In luggage, the two bags 2geda must not exceed 30kg, it exceed, let it be like 31kg or else u will be ask to 65USD per kg

you can make ur check in luggage 15kg, 15kg i.e 2 bags

The LP bag and hand luggage is excluded of 30kg baggage allowance, make sure ur LP bag is something u can hang on back like parachute, also ur hand luggage should not exceed 45 inches (L+W+H)

I carried a total of 40kg.... it depends on how you discuss with officials at the airport

YOU DON'T NEED AN ACCOMODATION B4 YOU APPLY 4 VISA! BUT U SHLD DO RESEARCH ABOUT THE PROSPECTS OF SECURING A PRIVATE ACCOMODATION, so that u will have something to tell the VO incase he/she ask u during the interview "where do you intends to stay"??

If they ask for accommodation plans, put your school and always know the post codes in your head

Congratulations and safe journey.... Please let us know about your experience when you settle down.

A lil bit stressful cuz I stopped over in dubai for like 7hrs (d longer d stopover, d cheaper) but free wifi at d airport kept me company....

wow congrats, your journey as began. Can u narrate your experience at the airport till your arrival at heathrow. Any info we should know about

I used emirates airline so there is a stop over In dubai. The basic thing is just to keep your admission letter close to you. Nigerian immigration always ask so many questions as long as you are confident, no wahala...you should knw ur start date, declare how much u are carrying (pta or otherwise) but when I got to UK (heathrow) ...they asked for my course, how long I would be staying, where I would be staying...easy questions sha...just be confident.

For transportation, if you cant use d train or buses, never use the black cabs...they are very expensive....you can download uber on your phone and get a taxi through the application.... Uber taxis are very cheap but black taxis start from £20

Hello. I just received my decision email at 9 this morning. Is it advisable to go and check for my passport now or should I wait till I get the email for collection? (By the way, I applied at the Ikeja teleperformance)
I'm asking because last year when I applied for a visa for a foundation course, I was able to collect my passport on the same day I got the decision email.

You can go today...

Hi guys,

Please has anyone here withdrawn money from their account after their interview but before a decision was made?

Is the UKVI authorised to verify the amounnt left in someone's account?

You can withdraw from the account as long as you don't go below the stipulated amount you should have in the account. They could feel you are trying to play smart if they find out.

Thak you.

Not compulsory but you will be required to fill a 'get it right' form stating why you do not need the english assessment test for your school

Hello house. This is my first post here. Your answers have been really helpful.

My school is resuming 14th September. I am submitting my online application tomorrow and I'll be using the Abuja center. I am told I can only get an appointment day 2 days after online payment. I am a bit worried as time is against me. Your thoughts please. Thank you

Who said that? There is actually no specific date as you will be given a range of dates to choose for your appointment.

A friend of mine is applying tomorrow to come join her husband in the UK who is on a tier 4 visa, my question is, will she be interviewed like a tier 4 student and if yes, what are the likely questions that will asked??

Thanks in advance for your help guys

I want to believe this is for a visit. The questions would be different but the person has to come with the necessary documents and also know about what and where the husband is studying or living.

Hello everyone.

I want someone to shed more light on this pls.

I am going for Msc and I have made the first payment of tuition fees £7636 and i was issued a CAS. So far I still have to pay the remaining balance of £3817 by January.
Now i have N2.5M in my account for my living expense ( I'm still counting for the 28 days) , and someone told me that I must put the N2.5M + £3817 (before printing out the bank statement) . If not my visa will be refused.

BTW my course start date is 21 sept, and final enrollment date is 5 oct.

I'm so worried and confused, pls how can go about this cry

I think you are supposed to have about 3.8m in your account instead of 2.5m..... but this depends on your tution fees and what's in your CAS
