Despite the fact that I supported GEJ, I commend the outcome, despite the rigging( from both sides), I believe this was truly the will of the people, see as many were rejoicing. The greatest legacy of this election was GEJs congratulating Gen Buhari even b4 final result came, infact it was unAfrican. I was analysing global news about this election and I noticed that the world were shocked, they were expecting us to by now killing ourselves, but lo rather there is peace. Let it be known that Nigeria has passed another milestone. We did it with ebola now this election. I salute Gen Buhari, he must hit the ground running because he has a great task ahead for him to fulfill the wishes of his millions of supporters and cynics that are at the corner waiting for him to fail. As for we Igbos we need to do a soul searching, we really need true and visionary leaders not the contractors we have today. We need to banish the past wound of the war and learn how to relate with other ethnicities, we have a lot to learn from them, though we have our unique strength they also can learn from us. Finaly I think the unique features and attributes of each ethnic group is great for this nation, it is just that we have not known how to rightly apply it. God has brought us together, we are African brothers. So let us embrace peace. Dalu |
noskeybaba:Bro we did the right thing by giving our total support to GEJ, at least we stood for what we believed in. I use this medium to appeal to our Niger delta brothers to please ensue peace not violence, let us not be like those who shed and wasted innocent lives because they lost election. It will speak for us in the committe of sane nations. I appeal to GEJ to please congratulate Buhari if he is declared winner and let sleeping dogs lie. The pain might be painful now, but this will elevate hin to a true and great African statesman. It will open future doors to him. As for Niger delta they should look inwards, they have amassed great fortune, they should use it to develnp themselves. We are about to enter into a great era in Nigeria, there will be massive competition accross regions towards development, unproductive regions will be left behind. |
Arrant nonsense. Buharis victory is a blessing in disguise for we Igbos, it will bring adversity to us which can make us think properly, make us focus on developing our region by our sweat and personal effort, enough of this running to other regions and contributing to their development while our homes are in ruins. Hopefully after governorship election all our states will be in opposition, which will enable us have one mind, so friend it is a huge blessing in disguise, it will make us take our destiny in our hand and not depend on crumbs from Federal govt table, but we rather fend for ourselves, find our own food, instead of depending on the laziness inducing monthly federal allocation, and bet me with our hardworking nature we can achieve that. |
I personally am scared with all these kind of statement coming from Buhari. I just pray that if he wins that he will not allow the likes of Tinubus not to run things from behind, because if they do, I pity Nigerians. Anyway one thing I like about the abokis is that they have a mind of theirs, they cant be puppets to anybody. I pray Buhari if he wins? should fall into the hands of good and sound economic handlers and drivers. |
ChokolateBoss:PapaBrowne was 100% in what he said. You and the guy you quoted are talking trash and bull.shit. There is no way economically possible you can make what Buhari said possible without harming the economy. Lets me give you example: the European Union as a whole is economically sick with the exception of Germany because of its competitive advantage on hi technology manufacturing. UK, Spain, Italy, Portugal, all have debt to Gdp ratio of 100%, Greece is worse. One of the major reason their economies are weak is strong currency, because it made goods they produced expensive so China and other low cost producting nations balanced the trade off. Germany was not affected because it has global advantage of hitech products(mercedes, bmw, audi, porsche, Airbus etc) which offers premium price so it was not hurt by low cost producers. That is why I personally respect, admire the Germans, they got their economics right. But look at Greece, before they joined the EU they were a very comfortable middle income country, after they joined and began using Euro, there local industry went moribund because the high currency made their products expensive there by failing economically, and resorting to loan from ECB European Central Bank, that is why their present Prime Minstr is contemplating dumping the Euros. A low value naira has an advantage if we have adequate power and begin producing what we consume rather than importing, the currency value will improve. |
ndyemi:u got it spot on, many of them were doing shakara in their 20s, and the guys when they are ready to marry will go for the younger and fresher women. |
CityNG:class ko taste ni, abeg leave matter. Make the money first b4 u go begin talk of class, to make that kind money no be beans, so give respect to him, and he is a very young man. |
First he should define his own intepretation and understanding of love, because love means different thing to different folks. As for my own opinion: any woman whether beautiful or not has the capacity to love, as long as the man in question knows how to respond and give love back. But one surprising thing I have come to realise is that the not so beautiful ladies even displays stinking attitude, which made me to rather prefer the preety and gorgeous one with bad attitude. At least her beauty can console the man for the bad autitude. |
brownlord:true talk or the guy might be good looking or has a se.x appeal. there must be something tangible that he must give out not just money. |
anwo247:dont mind the op, I have seen many rich but jew guys marrying very beautiful, classy and well brought up girls(not the sluty types) but well brought up girls from good homes that are faithful/obedient/ loyal to their husbands. When I see them, I will be like Nna men Ego Amaka!! Meaning money good. What everyman owe himself is to be visionary, focused, hardworking and Baba God will crown his effort. Although money shnuldnt be the priority but rather having focus and prospects. Example my sister was preety and a doctor then married a guy who was nothin, driving one tuketuke passat, even her friends were laughing at her then, but fast foward today God has blessed them, with many landed properties, they live in their own property in lekkie, drives top of the range cars from mercedes G500 to range rovers etc, their kids go to very good and very expensive schools, vacations around the world and all those her friends that were laughing at her then no reach her levels today, and her husband values her so much, doesnt take her for granted, he trusts her with all his buiss. So bros focus and prospect matters too. |
I disagree with op's generalisation. There are different types of male, there are the alpha type, the shy type etc, each is unique. Most of those that have poor self esteem dont need approval of wooing any girl they fancy to cure it rather I personaly think the best way to deal with is to first discover themselves, have a clear cut vision/ direction/ focus for their life and work towards that, they can now have confidence in their own skin. Secondly they should know the most important priority u search for to get a good woman/wife which is: firstly good character/ god fearing secondly the body figure/shape u prefer/like /attracted to as a man, thirdly mental capacity/ inteligence/level of education to me these are the most important things a man must look for in a woman to increase his chances of a lasting/peaceful marriage. Op was talking about his personal preference of girls with car/ money, I personaly never liked readymade girls when I was looking for settling down because majority of them already have " a set mind" which is always hard to bend which along with infidelity are the major causes of crisis in marriages today. |
olas24u:Dubai was built within short time realy? Thats fallacy, that Brazils economy was built within short time? Let me educate u small: Do you know that Brazil has been producing cars and buses since late 1970s, China began her massive industrialisation since late 1960s during the era of chiarman mao, Singapore began her massive developement in the late 1960s by Her Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yeuw, who ruled the country for almost 30years, or is it Malaysia that began her development in late 1970s by Mohamed Mahatir, who ruled for almost 25yrs. No country develops overnight or within short term, it takes intelligent and wise planing and good execution. Nigerias problem was that the past military regimes were visionless and had no clear cut direction, and those generals are still the major kingmakers today, with their stooges all over the place. We need to totally wean from them including Buhari or Obj (the most relevant and active ones) for Nigeria to move foward, develop and prosper. |
maestroferddi:My brother this is the TRUTH, nothing else to add, but those benefiting from the status quo will not let it be so, and they are the real enemies of Nigeria. |
United4lyf:True talk, He is interested in all nations but there are peculiar nations with greater destinies. As far as Africa is concerned, Nigeria is a very unique country, with all the problems bedeviling her like insecurity, lack of power & infrastructure, it still emerged as Africas biggest economy, its is influencing other black nations through films and music, or is it the spread of Nigerian churches across the globe etc. How much more will Nigeria achieve if these problems are curtailed. There are powerful nations in the globe scared of a rising Nigeria, and what it will do to their influence, but even they cant stop it because Nigeria has a big role to play in the globe because God has destined it to be so, and nothing will stop it. It was until I traveled, studied and lived abroad that I saw the big influence Nigeria has especialy on blacks across the world, I saw Kenyans, Tanzanians South Africans, Carribeans and many other Africans only play Nigerian music even neglecting American music or you will hear them shout 'Chineke mee' what they hear in our movies. Do you know how many poor African young people previously brainwashed that blacks are poor and no good, begin to believe otherwise when they watch Nigerian movies and see mansions and cars, thereby begin to believe that blacks are not poor as they were previously brainshed. There are big nations scared of a rising Nigeria, but God pass them, he has great interest concerning Nigeria because the destinies of blacks across the globe is tied to Nigeria. Coupled with that is Nigerias inexhaustible human resources at home and most especialy residing abroad, profesionals, academicians, entreprenures making waves across the globe. They cant stop Nigeria no way. |
United4lyf:Mr man you dont have a clue about spiritual things. The spiritual controls the physical. Why do you think there is so much backwardness, underdevelopment and misery across black Africa? You think it is just ordinary? Do you know the kind of human blood sacrifices, incantations and evil spell done by present politicians thereby raising strange altars to evil forces. Be it known to you that God the creator of heaven and earth is so much interested in Nigeria, and His judgement is coming speedily on all those that has held Nigeria down for decades, they are just mere flesh and blood and mortals. Never again shall a few men control the destiny of 170 million people, a new Nigeria is about emerging, this will show all men that there is a God who possesses the heavens and the earth, whom the inhabitants of the earth are like nothing before hin, who sets up kings and rulers. Men will see and tremble for this God is a consuming fire. |
1 corinthians 2 vs 14 says that the natural cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God because they are foolishness to him, neither can he know them because they are spiritualy discerned. Many may mock this and call it stupidity, but Gods ways of doing things is by far and much superior to mans ways. With all noise and churches around, still this generation is very godless, very perverse, only worships vanity and materialism. Prophets decleared that abiola will never rule, likewise they declared of Gods judgement on abacha, and in the end, it was as they said. Anybody that think that God is not interested in Nigeria must be ignorant. Go through the length and breadth of this nation, you will see that there is so much anxiety and confusion in the land. Nigeria is in desperate need of a messiah, a true leader, that will bring this nation together. As for Buhari, I dont think he is the messiah, because he has not shown the capacity to genuinely bring Nigerians together, he has a divisive element in him, his climbing that seat may disunite Nigeria. Anybody that thinks otherwise should take note of what I said, the honest truth is that Nigeria needs a unifying figure now more than ever before, any other thing apart from this will set this nation very much back. |
Obiagelli:story story. This kind of story and many more is showing most of us still undecided concerning whom we will cast our vote, whom we will vote. One thing I am realy scared about APC is that they know how to use propaganda, an act first created by Joeseph goebels to deceive Germans in 2nd world war, and it realy worked. Pdp are bad, but they dont hide it, you see it korokoro, but Apc in their states still do bad things, but they cover it up with propaganda. Finaly there was a point raised by mr Odumakin on his recent interview, he said that during the subsidy issue Nigerians protested and the govt listened and did sonething, while in Lagos, during Lekki toll gate protest, people were arrested and chased away, while nothing was done. My personal fear is that if Apc gets the power at the centre, Nigerians may have sold themselves to wicked slavemasters who may drop little crumbs covered with propaganda , while we and our children becomes their slaves. Infact it is realy very scary indeed. |
Ujujoan:My dear what you said is true, God gives us the best that fitly suits us. He told Jeremiah before I formed you I knew you, he knows us and know the best that suits us. In my personal walk with God, I have come to know Him as better than my best friend/buddy, He knows my failings and still loves me. The best thing that will happen to anybody is not to know this Gnd, I have tasted Him and I can say that He is so good, our understanding as human is very finite and limited but God is infinite and unlimited, I have seen Him create wonders from a very hopeless situation. |
Adanne babyosisi thank you so much for this wonderful thread, it has educated me so much concerning marriage. Honestly I now know that if I had ventured into marriage b4 now, I would have made a mess of it because I was never prepared for it. I am in my mid 30's, came accross a lot of ladies in the past 2 years, but none realy gave me the inner convictn or peace. I wasnt even praying seriously then, adding to that my mum was calling me every week to drum on concerning wife. Honestly that was when I knew I had to pray seriously to God to find my wife, as I did sometime last year, I met a young woman in her mid 20's, gotten her masters, working, very homely, sows and designs her own clothes, bakes and designs quality cakes, deeply spiritual, naturally beauty, infact she is an embodiment of virtous woman in Proverbs 30. I did not waste time oh, I made my move immediately, she no gree oh that last year, but I was led not to give up, I persisted, was real to her, she saw me for whom I am when she gave me the chance, our wedding is coming up soon. I have now come to realy understand what marriage is, that you have to die to self and the flesh to succede. God had previously dealt with me concerning sex, cos I was chasing skirts like most guys but I ve learnt abstinence, infact by Gods grace adultery has been programmed in my mind as a no no, this my body only belongs to my wife, no other woman, though it isnt easy because am still flesh, but with God it is well. That is why threads like this is good, it teaches a lot because many people get into marriage not prepared, that is why many marriages are breaking up. A childhood friend of mine, got married last dec in the east, he has a very rich dad. I cldnt make it to his wedding so I visited him at home, I was like wow when his wife came to greet me, I gave her 98% on the scale of beauty, she was like one of those super models. 3 days later I was hanging out with friends, I discovered that my friend that just did his wedding 3 days before who was supposed to be enjoying honeymoon with his gorgeous wife, lodged another woman in a different hotel. I was so angry, sad and disgusted when I got to know of this, it then dawned on me that a lot of people just marry to fulfil all righteousness, they dont take it serious and end up making their partners life with sorrow and misery. |
edwife:Personaly most times if not all the time, these women are to blame for there woes. Why? Because most of the time while single, they were approached by good men but they rejected them because they may not have much money or charisma like the other deceiving men, therefore they end up falling for the wolves. Secondly most dont seek God talkless of praying feverntly for the right man, if they do, they will get the right man and avoid/ be shielded divinely from the wrong ones. So I will advice both single men/women, pray and seek God feverntly concerning your life partner, infact start early to pray, the earlier the better. If you do, God will never allow you to marry anybody that will bring you sorrow and misery, He will shield you away from such, but to get Gods help, you must seek him and start seeking him early, not when the deed has already been done. |
Reading the comments on this topic, and with what is happening presently in the politiy. Suffice me to say that one Nigeria, national unity etc is just a ruse. The kind of bitterness being exhibited on each others tribes is very bad. At the rate it is going on, oneday it may be everyone to your tent, because the bad blood is too much. And there is no way this nation can move foward and realy prosper, because unity, oneness, brotherliness, patriotism are prerequisite to building a great, prosperous nation, what we have now is simple falsehood, fallacy, delusion and a pipe dream. |
tswitch:My brother flesh and blood did not reveal it to him indeed, many people dont know that Nigeria is on the edge. Honestly I had shelved plans of traveling but I think now that I must be out of Lagos latest feb 13, because very strange things may happen, so that one would not be caught unawares. The painful thing is that these greedy and vile politicians will ignite the fire and then run away while the common man on the street bears the brunt. |
I dont have much to say only that the opposition has to be very very careful because GEJ has been very very lenient. He has allowed free speech and liberty but the opposition has used it to mud sling and say unprintable things about him. They may wake up another darker side of this man, infact they might have woken it up. This is Africa we are talking about where strange things happen, they should look at precedents before: in Zimbabwe where Robert Mugabe completely crushed the opposition and has total grip on the country and still defying the west or is it Rwanda where Paul Kagame also completely crushed the opposition and has at the same time set his country on path of economic development. That is why the opposition has to be very careful, this is not about blowing grammar and rhetorics cause when the shi..t hits the fence the gbege go be too much, the west or Obama no go fit save them. So they should allow peace to be in Nigeria. |
And Obama and the Western world sits back watching while these devilish beasts released from the pit of hell commit many horrors all because of political correctness. |
I totaly agree with Prof Utomi, what we need in Nigeria presently is creative leadership that will tackle the enormous problems facing this nation. That is why I find it troubling the kind of unprintable poison I read online from both sides. Nigeria dont need such because of the tremendous task facing us as a nation. |
Anybody that loves this nation and realy wants peace for this nation will see sense in what Pst Bakare and Tunji Braithwaite said, an interim govt will be the best option. Because many folks dont know what is realy brewing from all the sides, which will be fatal for this nation. Let no one think they will be exempted when it starts, so I personaly think we should all come together and salvage this nation. |
The only thing I have to say is that I am begining to see Americas prediction about 2015. |
I am a witness to the PTF issue, all its projects was centered in the North. He jailed only Southerners while leaving his Northernern brothers. Mark it, Buhari will never ever rule Nigeria again, never. |
Thats a good one let us all support the man, I think he is the man needed to clean up the mess in this Country and position Nigeria to move foward. |
What realy got to me in this article, is how out of 160 million people we have the choice of either Buhari or GEJ as President, then honestly something is terribly and fundamentally wrong with the 160million people. |
APC has played their joker and by this they have cleared the coast for an easy ride for GEJ back to Aso rock, as a result of one mans inordinate ambition; Asimaju Tinubu. APC in chosing their Vp from a man who has no political weight, a mere Tinubu stoge, and neglecting the governors that have the might to match their opponents PDP, all because of Tinubu s selfishness. Never underestimate the power that governors wield, in 2007 when Obj was leaving he got his succesors from the governors, when Yaradua died, GEJ still got his vp from among the governors. Tinubu because of his myopia and lust for power, instead of picking the vp from among the power block of governors, instead positioned his stooge, daggers have been drawn out and ceaser will be stabed. 1. GEJ will win 2015 election with more landslide than 2011. GEJ will even win substantial part of core Northern States. Most people think Northerners are dumb, they are the smartest when it comes to playing politics. Planting Buhari there will be another Yaradua on them, so that Tinubu via his stooge will have Nigeria in his hands (the guy smart well), rather the North will rather allow GEJ for another 4 years so that young turks like Muazu, Ribadu, El rufai, Tambumal etc will mature well and be ready to take power in 2019. 2. Tinubus empire will crash in 2015, he will loose Lagos his cashcow, APC may still retain Ogun and Oyo because their governors may play ball with GEJ in the election so they will complement each other. But as for Lagos, it will be taken away from Tinubu, since the emergence of our present political era, no other politician has become so powerful like Tinubu because of the vast resources of Lagos at his disposal, James Ibori was also a bit powerful, but he was cut to size. The powers that be has passed judgement on Tinubu, and by 2015, the judgement will be executed, he will loose out. He nailed his coffin by this choice he made, if he had chosen Oshiomole or Fashola or Fayemi or even Amechi, it would have been a very close call in the election, but his lust for power never allowed him. As for Amechi, he will be forgiven, GEJ is a good man, he is not an unforgiving, vile and wicked man like Obj. It shall be well with Nigeria post 2015, diversify our economy, ceasation of terrorism etc. |
