If other governors like tinubu then didn't set the blue print for infrastructural development and continuity in lagos, would people be trooping into lagos enmasse to seek opportunities? A father saving money when he is yet to feed his children and pay their school fees is a useless father. You are talking complete bunkum Which infrastructure did Tinubu do. Is it the railway that has been going on for over 2 decades With terribly inflated cost? A railway that would cost maximum 200million dollars in other countries and built in short time Lagos State government is claiming the railway to have cost over 1.5 billion dollars And still not delivered in time I have traveled to countries where good infrastructures were done with decent money as far back as 2008, not inflated ones like the eye sore in Lagos. Nigerians are deceived because many don't travel around the world to see what other nations are enjoying in infrastructure that this robbers called politicians in Nigeria are deceiving the people |

Napata77: I don't understand this Obi's philosophy of saving 150 million dollars in Anambra state when people were hungry and jobless, and infrastructure deplorable.
If he replicates that philosophy as president, the military could chase him out in a coup. And how has Buhari fared Saving is very very good Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Norway all saved even Asian Pacific Nations save There model is still the Best in the world The western model of borrowing, spending is not the Best 2008 global financial crisis showed the flawness in the Western financial model While the West seem to be getting away with it is because they control global financial institutions like IMF and World Bank They control the dollar, Euro, pounds which are the major currencies of the world And the West has been in control of global finances and business for the past 500 years of our world if not over 1000 years So the West have an edge African Nations if they want to become economically sound should look learn from successful Nations in the Arab world like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait Successful Nations in the Asia Pacific like China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, India etc These are Nations doing very well and there fundamentals are sound and water tight Africa has been bedeviled with leaders that can't think That run to the West for salvation But are bereft of even the basic development concept If Nigerians like they should miss this opportunity, but if they miss it. Talking of education being expensive, you can't compare a private business school owner to a church school,......... Church school were built on donations.....

See I don't really understand some of you guys arguments at all Was the university opened to just cater to the poor Won't the university pay workers? Won't they build infrastructures? It's even cheap Afe Babalola university fees are in millions, just like Atiku abubakar university in millions Education is not cheap anywhere Look at Nigeria because government subsidizes university education, they can't even pay lecturers therefore there is always strike There is no where in the world education is cheap The problem with many of our people is ignorance. Simple Nigerians studying in Ghana pays school fees in millions. I had two close relatives that studied there and I Know how expensive there education was. Covenant university offers scholarship to a lot of poor students. But coming here to criticize them to me is just foolishness simple They opened university to succeed and build up men and women. And they are doing that Covenant university graduates are doing very well in the corporate Nigeria, they are very employable. Konquest: RMD and Reno Omokri are both of Urhobo paternal ethnicity and with Itsekiri maternal ancestry. This is the reason they both have Yoruboid names because of their Itsekiri maternal ancestry.
Itsekiris have 3 Yoruba sub-groups ( (Ijebu, Ife, and Ilaje) as the main parent ethnicities of Itsekiris with some Bini migration into their midst from the time of the exiled Prince Ginuwa the son of the then Oba of Benin kingdom in the 1480s to Ode Itsekiri an original Ijebu settlement that had Chief Lenuwa as their leader.
Prince Ginuwa's mother was from Ife and the only non-Bini-born wife of the reigning Oba in the 1480s when Ginuwa was sent on exile with 70 men accompanying him.
Hope this helps. All this one na long story If we igbos begin to write long history of our relationships with our kit and kin in the minorities. It still doesn't change anything They are whom they are |

Politics › Re: Exchange Rate May Surpass N1000/$, Says Pat Utomi On 2023 Budget by djon78(m): 7:22pm On Jan 05, 2023 |
grandstar: The only reason why debt service is higher than revenue is because of the petrol subsidy and dollar subsidies. End those subsidies to day today and the debt service will no longer be higher than that of revenue as that would easily add about 9 tr to the government purse.
The federal government needs to increase revenue by improving tax collection. If the country can improve tax collection by 2% of GDP alone, this would produce about 5 tr in revenues. 2% of GDP is not a big deal.
Also, what the Nigerian pays for its debt is quite high. It is presently 18.5% which is a high premium because of its loose fiscal policies.
With tighter reins on government spending and waste, interest rates may go down to around 11.5% or even single digits which would bring down the cost of servicing the debt.
Nigeria does not have a problem. What the country has is 'buharinomics' problem. . With him out of the way from next year June, 2023, some level of economic sanity should resume. After Buhari don run down everything and brought calamity for good eight years Why didn't he do these things? Politics › Re: Exchange Rate May Surpass N1000/$, Says Pat Utomi On 2023 Budget by djon78(m): 6:54pm On Jan 05, 2023 |
grandstar: Nigeria's economic woes aren't that big. Buhari is simply the wrong man for the job.
The fiscal mess is caused by 3 things.
1. The fuel subsidy. This will cost cost close to 7 trillion next year to subsidize. Eliminate it and a major cause for the huge deficit next year is gone.
2. Subsidized dollar sales.
Ever since Buhari assumed office, he has subsidized the price of dollar by refusing it to achieve its true market value. For instance, presently, the official rate is 730 while the official rate is 440. The true value is around N600. At N600 or even 570, the official and black market rates would merge.
The subsidized dollar sale is a causing a massive loss of revenue. For instance, lets say the country earns $12bn in crude oil sales, that money would be disbursed 440 rather than N600. That $12bn will bring in 5.28 tr rather than N7.2 tr. That means the government is losing 1.92tr in revenue.
There is urgent need to end the dollar fixing by Buhari has it is the primary cause of the bad state of the economy. It has led to severe fx shortages at the official rate as no one in his right mind would sell at that rate.
Just fixing those 2 will fix a lot of problems with the fiscal expenditure and all the 3 leading candidates hahev promised to so. And the debt of 77trillion nko When your debt service is already higher than revenue Cleaning up the mess is very difficult |

Truth is, marriage scares me As a married man: Marriage is not a bed of roses If you are looking to give up on it There are many things that will make you give up Even minor things But it requires resilience to stay on Sometimes you feel lovey dovey Sometimes you ask why did I marry this person But it's that resilience that keeps it going Grass on the other side may look greener But truly it's not Sex in marriage is different from sex outside marriage Marriage sex mostly requires sacrifice and unselfishness Putting your partners pleasure before yours But it's all good with time and better Marriage is good It so much teaches you patience How to live with another person If you are married to a partner that has empathy and human feelings You will definitely make it |

mach7: In my opinion, APC shouldn't have bothered replying OBJ. It only makes his "endorsement" seem somewhat relevant.
To the discerning, his support for Obi has been clear from day one. Amongst the frontline candidates, Obi is the only one that can be controlled or dictated to by OBJ. OBJ's aim is to ensure that his influence which was eroded by Buhari can be restored via Obi. All the talk about supporting someone from Eastern extraction is just a charade.
Asides this, I also perceive that OBJ has a personal animosity for Tinubu. Something akin to envy since the days of when Tinubu was a Governor.
To those saying that Tinubu went to beg OBJ for endorsement, you are spewing rubbish. Tinubu was advised to go see OBJ (being the most prominent Yoruba leader who is an ex-president) and sell his ambition to him, and Tinubu followed that advice.
Following the outcome of the meeting, it became clear that OBJ won't support Tinubu, but he also committed that he wouldn't support Atiku either and for the Tinubu camp, that was OK.
Election is next month, let's see how OBJ's and by extension the so called "Cabal of ex-Gemerals" endorsement helps Obi.
However, I do find it funny when Obi says he want to build a new Nigeria and use the hungry youths as a structure....blah...blah...blah and yet still relies on the same corrupt structure of persons like OBJ to attempt to get into office.
Really funny. Who is ruling Nigeria now? Is it still not one of the ex generals As long as the 1966 class are still alive. They will determine who rules Nigeria Nigeria that belongs to them Until they all die There influence will still be here Never underate them. Obasanjo ruled 1999 to 2007 He handed over to the Younger brother of one of them shehu Musa yaradua, Umaru yaradua Jonathan was just fortunate Still he lost to one of the ex generals Buhari Since 1999 they have influenced who rules Nigeria No political machinery in Nigeria Is superior to the ex generals |

How does a sound progressive thinking party field a Tinubu to replace a Buhari that failed woefully when they know that younger Nigerians are already yearning for revolutionary change in the next election? Tinubu is not a bad man, he has been nice to his friends and associates no doubt, but he has become too washed by age for the kind of President we need to redeem and rebuild this country. I am from South South, I supported Osibanjo wholeheartedly for APC ticket hoping that APC would use him to redeem itself from the failure of Buhari's government, but APC allowed Tinubu share dollars in the convention just as Atiku used dollars to buy his ticket in PDP.
