Politics / Re: Nigerians To Enjoy Regular Power Soon • Fg Directs States To Provide Electricity by dmainboss: 6:49pm On Mar 01, 2012
@Kobojunkie

States have already started building power generating plants. Akwa Ibom and Rivers are far ahead of others on this. Lagos is gearing up fast. That has already been approved by the FG. Distribution is what Gbawe is emphasizing here!
Politics / Re: Ibori Won't Serve Prison Term In Nigeria. by dmainboss: 6:38pm On Mar 01, 2012
Those of you shouting that Nigerian government will release him have very very short memories. Was it not the GEJ government that chased him away in the first place? He had to escape to the creeks and later escaped to Ghana before entering Dubai. Why you guys have such a short memory baffles me!

I said it that they should never have sacked Sia 1. They should have backed him to build a new team and throw out all these old cargos. They deliberately messed him up and got him sacked even if it meant messing up the country. Ayegbeni and Osaze are scoring like water in their clubs but the moment you bring them here, they will be strolling on the pitch. Twats!

Politics / Re: Uninterrupted Power Supply For Kogi Soon - Phcn by dmainboss: 6:01pm On Feb 29, 2012
No matter how negative or bitter some of you sound, it doesn't make what you say fact. There has been a lot of improvement in power supply accross the country. Places like Benin, Enugu and PH have much improved power supply. Last time I was in Benin, some part of town had continous power for 3 weeks without interruption. The worst power supply is still in Lagos and Abuja. Very very poor. Most also places like Aba, abeokuta, onitsha, and several others still have terrible supply. A few places in Lagos enjoy improved supply like Lekki/Ajah, surulere and Ogba. Most others still suffer very poor power supply.

@dmainboss,
permit me to say that you got it all wrong.
all the institutions u mentioned above have one main problem  which happen to be INDEPENCE. none of them including ur efcc is independent of the presidency. if you have been following the activities of efcc from the day one, they only go after the oppositions of the govt while opposition is suppose to part of democracy.
i was reading an article about ghana earlier this month and five serving ministers or so were taking to court for corruption but what do we have here. as long as you are with the president of the day, you are free to do whatever you like.
our minister of information(mako) led a protest against govt in 1986 because of fuel subsidy removal but today, he is in the forefront on the war to remove fuel subsidy. when asked, he said, he was sponsored to protest against the govt. tell me, is such a deceit worthy to be a public servant?
does the efcc have what it takes(independence) to go after our first lady for stealing $13m belonging to bayelsa state while her husband was the gov of that state.
if ibori stole delta ppl money, what about those who stole nigeria money? we all know efcc to be selective in their justice. all the federal govt contracts awarded and paid for under obasanjo were not executed yet no single individual in facing any court case any where in nigeria. it is a big shame.

What do you mean by independence? How are they not independent? Is there any way that the Executive can lord it over the Judiciary or legislature or the press that the constitution empowers? Please educate me here because I cant understand your grammer. Nigeria operates a government with 3 arms, the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary. The last time I checked, that hasnt changed.

The only way the executive can have any influence over the legislature or Judiciary is if they go plate in hand to look for favours. If they operate withing the law and do their jobs, nobody can hold them to ransome. So please dont make excuses for them. They are established by the constitution to put the executive arm on their toes. But they have failed to do their job and provide check and balance. I actually hold them more responsible for the Nigerian situation than the executive.

My broda, I like to engage in discuss based on facts not assumptions and media gossip. Please leave out the gossips and speculations about Dame Patience stealing and lets talks facts.
Politics / Re: Ibori Will Still Be Tried In Nigeria,’ Efcc Says by dmainboss: 12:29pm On Feb 29, 2012
In all fairness to the EFCC, the major difference between the UK trial and t he Nigerian trial is the incorruptible UK judiciary. The fault is not really the EFCC's. The incessant delays and frivolous injunctions are given by the courts, not by the EFCC. People talk about giving Igbinedion  fine. That is the judiciiary, not EFCC. Sometimes in Nigeria, we always protest about the wrong thing or focus on the wrong people. I have always said and will continue to say loudly that the institutions that really need to change in Nigeria are the Judiciary, the Press and the Legislature. Especially the first 2. Once these 3 change, the whole country,  including the executive, will follow suit.

Imagine reading this morning news and am hearing the NJC is still considering reinstating Salami. Even if Salami is innocent, he would have resigned in any sane society. But he wants to sit tight and chop. So what will you expect from judges like that. It is a real pity.

Nigeria is a bundle of humour. Tam David west and El Rufai are now heroes fighting for the masses. So why didn't he build a refinery or at least start it off in his time. Is he not part of the present decadence? This is why things are the way they are. Why didn't he shout all these years. Where has he been? And we have such a gullible public swallowing all his vomit. Very sad!
Politics / Re: James Ibori: How A Thief Almost Became Nigeria's President - Bbc by dmainboss: 12:17pm On Feb 28, 2012
Please can someone tell what's wrong with Nigerians? When the goverment does not prosecute, they say the government does not want to fight corruption. When they prosecute, they say its witch hunt. When a foreign goverment prosecutes, they say it we are all thieves so it doesn't matter. I feel sorry for Nigeria. The only grouse I have with oyibo is that they merged us into a country and gave us independence too early. We should have gotten independence in 1995.

Politics / Re: State Of The Union: Your Part by dmainboss: 4:44pm On Feb 25, 2012
The funny thing about posts like this is that it appears intelligent but in the end, it is a bundle of ignorance. The problem of Nigeria has never been well tought out plans and road map. It has always been a people, not just a government alone, that have the heart to follow it and have it work. That is why a piece like the Obama state of the union speech will never impress any one who has a clear head. Obama has refused to leave campaign mode even after 3 and half years. If it was GEJ, the likes of you will come out shouting its all promises and no action. The truth is, at the end of the day, all men are the same. Whether in America or Nigeria, fundamental human behavior and characteristics are the same. The only difference is the social-cultural environment that exist. Africa and specifically Nigeria still has a barbaric social-cultural environment and we just pray a major event will occur to change that.
Politics / Re: Is 13% To Niger Delta Cause Of Northern Underdevelopment? by dmainboss: 8:30pm On Feb 21, 2012
Just to say this in response to some posts on here. The north does not have a large population. They have a large land mass. The large population stuff is a fraud. It is one of the many lies the north has been riding on since independence. If you look at the population distribution of west Africa, Nigeria is the only country where the northern desert region shows more population that the coastal areas. Check the population of chad, niger and mali and you will get an idea of the true population of the north. And on top of that, a major chunck of the current northern population are southerners, especially the Ibos.

Education / Re: Gej Orders Compulsory Entrepreneurship Course For All Undergraduates by dmainboss: 1:00pm On Feb 18, 2012
These GEJ haters and bashers have become so cynical and bitter that they can't think straight anymore. The funny part is that they claim they have superior knowledge of some sort. This annoucement by GEJ is again another end game move. A masterpiece. The man is showing unbelievable foresight, I am so impressed. Some talk of enabling environment. Who is going to provide enabling environment? Enterpreneurs of course. The problem of Nigeria over the years has basically being our mindset. Actually, it is the problem with the black race. Practically every discovery we enjoy today was done by visionary enterpreneurs working under very uncondusive environments. Some starved to get their inventions done. Some where almost stoned to death because the society called them witches. Most didn't have any support from anywhere. So it is very funny when you hear some claiming that a condusive environment is necessary for enterpreneurship to thrive. It is actually the other way round. Entrepreneurship will create a condusive environment.

Someone wrote that Nigerians are entrepreneurs. Are you kidding me? How many can write a simple business plan? How many can manage cash flow? They make 100k and spend 150k. Is that how their business will thrive? Most Nigerians don't even want to do a business. They want to work in multinational firms. If you own a bank, will you give out loans to people that have no skill on how to run a business? One big difference between the western world and Nigeria is training and specialisation. In Nigeria most people claim they can do practically anything. The same guy is a plumber, an electrician, an importer, a house agent and a cement seller. In the end, he knows nothing.

I am so glad GEJ is addressing the fundamentals in this country. Those waiting to hear stupid annoucements like free education and free bags of rice are going to be disappointed in this guy because the guy is not ready for that. The fundamentals is what will change Nigeria, not the kind of frivolous propaganda some governors are announcing to gain public acceptance.

Of course the foolishness will not allow them to cry out loud with the same vigour. Anything SLS/North/muslim/islam just keep eating them up no matter how reasonable/factual the stand is. Even though corruption (IMO) is the number one killer in this country, it appears to them that is a "lesser" crime so they'll keep mute especially because its GEJ - who according to them is just a victim.

Having said that, I think SLS just rubbed crude oil on his body for his enemies to roast him. I have not read/heard anywhere where he explained his action (For all we know it might have been his personal money) but you can't blame people for complaining if he didn't do the same for bomb blast victims in other states.

You are the one that is expressing hate and bigotry here. The article never said GEJ was involve in any corruption. It clearly said the MDAs criminally smuggled projects into the initial project GEJ submitted. It is not an indictment of GEJ but a vindication because it shows GEJ did not allow them to add those projects in the first place

So those of you who claim he is honest, how do you know he is truly honest? I can remember he was the petroleum minister in OBJ's first regime that presided over a mojor corruption in the oil industry. Millions of dollars as far back as 1977/78. He also presided over a PTF that spent almost 100billion on ghost projects as far back as 1995-98. I have challenged some of his supporters to point to any major PTF project around and they have still not shown me. The only PTF project that he was supposed to do for Delta state was the petroleum training institute. That project was built and completed by the OBJ administration. So how is he a honest man? I think the guy is just using an Aboki tactics for some of you but only fools will buy that. NL is becoming a bunch of guys who don't mean well for Nigeria. They spew all kinds of negativity and crap. If you hate this country so much, why not relocate to another country. The man has taking a stand and to be honest, no former IG has ever critisized the police force like this man just did. No one has ever spoken the truth like this. Whether he will match it with action remains to be seen but he deserves to be given the benefit of doubt and help to his word. He has even provided direct numbers to his office. Let's all come together and do our part. Most of you spewing crap have nothing to contribute to Nigeria but ur negativity and evil wish. What have you ever done for Nigeria? Nonsense!
Politics / Re: Nigerians Living In Poverty Rise To Nearly 61% by dmainboss: 8:04pm On Feb 13, 2012
Nigeria has many poor people and the economy is really bad but these statistics are far from the truth. All around, people are buying new cars and building new houses and they are not politicians like many of u come here to shout. All those people selling under oshodi bridge do not live on $1 a day. Most of these agencies that produce these reports are only producing reports that will fetch them foreign aid. I have worked with some of them before. NGOs are one of the worst organisations in the country. Maybe in the north, the statistics might be close to the truth, but in the south, it is completely false. Do understand my point. I am not saying Nigerians are not poor or that they are not suffering, but that the figures and statistics being peddled about are false. And there is also another side to it all and that is the fact that Nigeria is very fertile for business. While more Nigerians are crying and many are running away, more and more foreigners are scrambling to come to Nigeria to do business. The number of people seeking Nigerian visas have sky rocketed in the last few years. A country with 150milliom people is a gold mine. Do u know Nigerian beweries plant in the south east is the biggest in Africa. Yet they complain that they. Cannot meet the demand of the Nigerian public. All the breweries combined are struggling to meet the Nigerian public demand. You can verify from these companies. Who drinks these millions of bottles of beer everyday? Is it the politicians? Some of u lot are so negativen u might just be undoing urselves. I complain about infrastructure and amenities in Nigeria but I never complain about money because Nigeria is full of it and if you are jonsing, u are on ur own!

GEJ does not pay salaries, he only comes in if there is a crisis and it is relayed to him. So the labour unions will ve to bring it to his attention. So please let's know if its ur agency or a particular ministry.
Phones / Re: 3G Data Reliability - Glo Or MTN? by dmainboss: 5:47pm On Feb 12, 2012
A lot of comments here don't reflect the truth on the ground. I have used Glo, starcomms, MTN, Airtel, Multilinks, Etisalat and VISA. They all have their pros and cons depending on ur location. The fastest network is undeniably Glo, but they have also messed me up a lot. Etisalat is also fast but very unstable. I have bought 2 different etisalat modems. Starcomms and Visa are still one of the most reliable. Airtel is very stable but not as fast as Glo. MTN is still about the poorest network for browsing. They messed me up big time. So it really depends on where u stay and ur bandwidth demands. After using most of them, I have settled for Glo and Visa. In Abuja, Visa is about the fastest. Glo is the best value for money network. 6gb for 7.5k and they give u 3gb on ur bb and bb browsing is superb.

The likes of Gbawe are the reason CAN cannot grow outside the southwest. They propagate a politics of exclusion and 'superiority complex' that only puts others off. That is why Oshiomole is now getting farther and farther awat from the party and might eventually leave. It is sad because Nigeria does need a strong opposition but what we have is a bigottted one

Politics / Re: Nuhu Ribadu's Response to GEJ's call by dmainboss: 8:10pm On Feb 08, 2012
I love everything that has been happening so far. It is now crystal clear that those that have been calling for change have only been trying to gain power thru the backdoor. Now the change is happening and they are again calling for a change back to status quo. It is a disgrace. But am glad people like Ribadu are smart. He knows this administration is about to go down in history as a monumental success and he he has rightly accepted to play a key role in that process.

I told all of you that you will eat your words, didnt I? The problem with those who have been criticising in the last month is that now the government is doing some revolutionary stuff, they cant bear the shame that they have insulted the president all these while. I read Wole Soyinka's article and was impressed because, though i dont agree with all he said, he showed how you can criticize objectively with a genuine motive to move the nation forward, not engage in slander and blackmail like Bakare, El Rufai and Tam David West.
Politics / Re: Why Do We Nigerian Keep On Voting Pdp, Then Complian About Them Later: ? by dmainboss: 2:43pm On Feb 06, 2012
Very many funny posts on here:

1. Some of you say PDP is very bad and there is nothing good in PDP. My question to you is which state are you from? If you are from Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Rivers or Cross Rivers and some others, you will not say that. If you are from Delta, Ogun, Imo and some others you might say that. The propaganda that PDP is completely bad is what the opposition try to sell and it will not work. They have to try something else

2. Those pushing ACN are also trying to sell the propaganda that all ACN states are doing well. Another falsehood that wont sell because people actually live in these states and know the truth. The Adeniji Jones bypass has been a disaster and a a death trap now for over 8 years. Fashola has done nothing about it. The companies on that road are the ones who fill the road with stones from time to time. That road is the main direct connection between Ikeja and Ogba. That is just one example of many that the Lagos state government have abandoned but they do only the ones they can showcase and use as propaganda tools. Does that mean Fashola is all bad? Nope. But the reality is that Fashola is not better than many of the PDP governors out there. It is just a matter of who can do better propaganda. Most other ACN states are a mess. And please PDP only ruled Ogun for 8 years. The former governor was from AD from which ACN emerged. So when you talk about 12 years of misrule, ACN was very much a part of that.

3. You say we should give ACN a chance? fair enough. But in 2007, ACN presented Atiku as their presidential candidate. How was that a different choice? In 2011, they presented Ribadu. How again is that a different choice? In Akwa Ibom, they presented Udoheage ( permit my spelling of his name). How is that a different choice yet again? The story is the same for many states. Almost all the former PDP members in Edo state who joined Lucky Igbinedion to ruin the state are now in ACN. So how is that a different choice? Yes, I agree Oshiomole has tried to make a difference in some areas. Kudos to him for that! But the system is still the same corrupt system that has always being. Actually, Osunbor, the PDP guy Oshiomole took over from was the one that started the transformation projects Oshiomole is doing now.

The point is, it is never a party thing. Good guys will emerge and make a difference no matter the party they belong just like bad guys will emerge and mess things up. It is a Nigerian problem, not a party problem. Cross Rivers is a perfect example, where Donald Duke did revolutionary stuff as a PDP governor but Liyel Imoke is making a mess of things.
Politics / Re: Mend Threatens Mtn, Sacoil by dmainboss: 2:20pm On Feb 06, 2012
The falacy from many of the posts on here is that they equate MEND with Niger delta militants. MEND is just one group that have refused to embrace peace not because they care about ND, but they are simply criminals trying to milk the system and now, they are being sponsored from outside ND. All the major Niger Delta militants have embraced amnesty. The amnesty program is a great success. Just go to PH and ask for yourself. Of course it doesnt solve every problem in ND but it has brought some hope and we'll see where we go from there.

When u here people from the south west talk, you would think the region is so advanced and developed. The only developed place is Lagos and that's because it is a former capital of Nigeria. The rest states are shiite. Ogun enjoys a spillover of Lagos. It is vital to mention that states like Enugu and Akwa Ibom have developed on their own.
Politics / Re: Southwest & Edo Governors Demand More Power For States Governors by dmainboss: 10:57pm On Feb 05, 2012
Exactly what powers are they looking for again? GEJ just gave them go ahead to build their own power plants. What other issues do they really need more powers for. Are they trying to blame their poor performance on limited powers? These governors are funny. They just like to appear on the pages of newspapers. Notice Edo and Ondo sent their deputies. While they are busy discussing and trying to get noticed, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Imo and Rivers are actually getting transformed. Talk is really cheap.

All the people calling this story lies are obvious BH members and saboteurs. And just to add that a suicide bomber is not a brave person but a delusional person. There is a big difference. Brave people don't do cheap hit and run attacks. Killing people is not strenght. It is a weakness.
