You talk about Obi all the time even though you claimed he came 3rd. You've totally ignored Atiku. Tells me you know the truth!
lhordspy:
The sad story of a desperate man, Obi. Who rode on religious sentiment, hate and bigotry, all in a bid to actualise an unrealistic political ambition. But yet, failed.

He is now a laughing stock. In Labour, even though you dont reap profit, you are always left with dignity. But in this case, no dignity, no honour. But shame.

*THE LP/OBI DRAMA*
Out of a total of 176,000 polling units, you provided only 46,000 polling agents. (This means you were not present, and have no evidence in 130,000 Polling Units nationwide, and you imagine that 46,000 is greater than and will upturn 130,000)

You listed a 50 man witnesses. You presented only 5 (with one week to go).

The 5 presented are:
1. An International Data Analyst
2. A Channels TV Staff
3. A Professor in Mathematics
4. An Arise Tv Staff
5. An AIT Staff

There is not a single person (amongst LP witnesses who is directly) connected to the election you are contesting its result.

All are busy body third party hearsay witnesses (none is an eye witness with primary source or evidence).

What do you think these witnesses will amount to?

People testifying as witnesses to an election (in which they were not present but) they participated in only on TV set are all you have and rely on.

Ok naaa. grin

We saw these circus show with Bubu as well. How far now?
Busy76:
Department of State Services (DSS) operatives have seized 18 bags, commonly referred to as “Ghana-must-go” bags, filled with money and documents from the residence of Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). According to a source who spoke with Nigeria Tribune, the bags were confiscated during an extensive search of Emefiele’s home in Lagos, which took place throughout the day on Friday.

Emefiele, who was arrested on June 10, has been held in DSS custody for eight days. Insiders familiar with the matter suggest that his detention may be extended as investigations into his conduct as the head of the CBN continue. While the DSS has the authority, with court approval, to detain the former CBN leader for up to three weeks, there are indications that this period might be prolonged.

Following the completion of the property search, Emefiele was escorted from Abuja, where he was being held, back to Lagos. The large bags seized during the search were collected, and Emefiele was subsequently flown back to Abuja, where further questioning took place. Additionally, authorities are reportedly searching for Emefiele’s personal assistant, who is currently missing, in connection with the discoveries made during the ongoing investigation.

According to a source quoted by the Nigerian Tribune, “DSS took Emefiele to his house in Lagos on Thursday and returned him to Abuja on Friday afternoon. His house was searched. They took away about 18 big Ghana-must-go bags containing money and documents from the house. His personal assistant is on the run. DSS is on a manhunt for him.”

The suspension of Emefiele as CBN governor and the initiation of an investigation was carried out by President Bola Tinubu on June 9, leading to Emefiele’s subsequent arrest by the DSS.

Politics › Re: Peter Obi Entertaining Nigerians At Tribunal – Pastor Giwa by DMerciful(m): 4:11pm On Jun 18, 2023
If you want to be popular in Nigeria,
talk about Obi!
MTNnews:
The senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has urged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to find something else to do instead of waiting for justice at the Election Petition Tribunal.

On Sunday, Giwa said while addressing his members in Akure that Obi was only entertaining Nigerians.

He said:” I knew he couldn’t have gone too far. No popularity on social media can stand the test of time. When it is not your time, it is not your time! He betrayed his boss, Atiku, who brought him into the limelight. If you love Nigeria so much as proclaimed, why didn’t you wait in your political party to fight the battle? Suddenly, you changed and pretended that you were not part of the system that led us to where we are today.

“God can’t stomach arrogance, pretence, and betrayal, according to Proverbs 16:5. The Lord says he will put those upstairs in their place. We know all the politicians we will hold responsible should anything go wrong in Nigeria.

“He is just wasting his time entertaining Nigerians; don’t forget that I told you that the last presidential election was between the two old men I described as thieves. I said the better one would eventually lead the country.

"When I also told you that Obi was a social media presidential candidate, his people abused me because they didn’t want to listen to the truth. They held a series of meetings with their pastors, who deceived them that they would win. Now, he has suddenly become a wealthy man at the expense of the poor people who didn’t know where he was heading. The truth is stranger than fiction, they say!

“Please, don’t waste your time, my brother. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

He further stated: “It’s left for whoever is there as President to prove some of us right or wrong. Time will tell. They are all corrupt politicians; what we want is while you are there stealing the money, remember the citizens and let them taste the national cake.

“The money belongs to the citizens of Nigeria. At least, nothing stops you from transforming the country and protecting the rights and dignity of individual Nigerians.”

Politics › Re: They Claim To Be Tolerant But They Disowned Obasanjo by DMerciful(m): 3:59pm On Jun 18, 2023
An example is Yorubas protecting themselves even when they're wrong just because they're Yoruba. Long time ago, in my work place, a Yoruba guy did something wrong and admitted but when the boss got to know, he changed his story and all the Yorubas there supported his new story even though they knew he had changed it.

My wife was serving in a secondary school around Oluyole in Ibadan when we had our first child. She resumed school after about 4months after delivery. I met the assistant principal who is a woman ,to appeal for my wife to come to school only during her teaching period because the baby is just 4months. The woman declined but that was not the issue. She said you Igbos think you are very wise.why will you request for your wife to come only on her lecture days or periods.I find her reference to my ethnicity as the basis for her decision distasteful.

TsbAfrica:
I really want to know like a specific example so I can really put a grasp on it becasue in my life I am yet to see where a Yoruba man is tribalistic towards an Igbo man... Like for instance a landlord that will say he doesn't want to rent his house to an Igbo man in Yoruba land ... Maybe it happens but I have not come across something like that .. something similar happened here on nairaland to me one time when I was saying Igbo people buy land in Yoruba land but igbos will never sell land to Yoruba man only to find out I was wrong. And becasue I prioritize knowledge over most things I did my research and I learnt. That I was deducing my position from unfounded truths and I updated. So let me know an example that makes you hold your position

How did Hitler end up? How are the jews today? If there's to be a war between the Jews and the Germans, who would win? Ofcourse the Jews would win. Hitler hated the Jews because he saw them as a superior race and he wanted Germans to be superior.

Igbos today are no different from the Jews, we will always end up victorious!
mdimefields:
The Jews of Europe thought in this line of thought until Hitler gave them a never ending lesson of their life. Mind you, Hitler family physician was a German Jew. As in the doctor that took care of his mum until her death was a Jew, did he spare the Jews when he came to power?
Learn from smart investors. We are not saying you all should be based in the East, but strategically positioned yourself in the East, factories, head office etc, then invest in other friendly regions, i.e Africa, other than the region that has been singing it they don't want you. In fact they are about to start implementing policies that will see to legal confiscation of your properties. You don't need to let history repeat itself on you before you learn.

You calculation involves variables that came from govt ineptitude. What was exchange rate in 2011 and why was it not improved upon rather than falling? If our refineries were working, who will we be paying subsidy to?
nairalanda1:
On fuel subsidy removal....the fact is, we had reached a point where we were borrowing to pay for the thing, government had reached a point where it was owing NNPC the main importer, and the fact that Dangote's refinery is near completion (not quite..mind you) meant that subsidy had to go.

If we did not remove subsidy now, we would have been in serious trobule in a few years time.

How is subsidy damaging? Let's assume fuel cost N65 at the pump today as it did in 2011. In 2011 december, landing cost of fuel was N99...meaning we paid a subsdy of at least N34 per liter. If we kept fuel at N65 at the pump....we would have been paying subsidy of at least N475 per liter by now.

Now add up increases in consumption from 2011-date, take into consideration that from 2014-2021, oil prices were too low to sustain us, to the point that we had to borrow money (and even when they were above 100 dollars, we had to borrow...between 2011-2014, and even after 2021.).....and we could have been in an even worse debt than we are now.

As for the exchange rate...well, jury is still out. I agree it would affect our economy well well....especially since it is import dependent...even our manufacturing industry is dependent on imports. Unless we have to do import subsitution fast....things would get expensive. On the other hand, keeping an artifical official exchange rate, alongside a parallel market for decades is where we got things like roundtripping among other issues. All in all...if we want a strong currency...we have to earn more dollars , more hard currency...which means more manufacturing.

You don't fill a bucket with water by taking water from it and pouring same water into it. Igbos moving their businesses to the East will never make them rich. We're rich because we pull resources from all over Nigeria and the world to the East and wherever we are!

Inspite of whatever hate they have we continue to prosper because God has prepared a table before us in the presence of our enemies!
mdimefields:
I have been a member of this forum for a long time, before the heat of tribalism drove me out. I had to deactivate my account so to maintain my sanity. Been visiting once in a while to glance over news and current events. I have not overlooked the gross Igbophobia that has grown over leap and bound. The frenzy it's taking is just shot from an open attack. The amount of hate perpetuated by a political party, majorly from a particular region, before, on and after the election is alarming.
Having been on the sideline this long, I decided to create this account and talk to my people. Every Nwa afor should listen up. This is very important.

Don't take the Threats you Read Here for Granted: Before the election, I read several comments on how Igbos will be dealt with in the South West, albeit strategically, and stripped off of their capacity to chest beat, according to some. It is gradually taking place. Recent events in Lagos should clear your doubt. You were threatened that you will not be allowed to vote, and that really happened. Till date, no one has been prosecuted for illegally disfranchising so called citizens from their rights to vote.
Solution: if you are a residence or own a business in the South West, I wouldn't tell you enough what to do next. No real business entity survives a hostile environment. Things will get worse from here, it will definitely get worst, so think of the next alternative. Time to move back to the East. Time to move back to Igboland.

Pipe Low: Go and listen to Allen Onyema recent interview. Go to Charles Ogbu Timeline on Facebook and listen to that timely advice. When you are surrounded by haters, you become wiser. It is wisdom to maintain silence and observe. Metchiow onugi nwanne. You don't have to talk all the time. Some of us are braggarts and it's has a lot of negative fall back. You may feel the need to rob it on their face, but is that really necessary? Take a clue from the Japs, the Jews and recently the Arabs. We have a lot of potentials, and can do more, but lets learn how to keep calm.

Stay Focus:
Nigerian politics is toxic, but don't allow that to derail your focus. Your focus should be your state governor, house of rep members, senators, LGA chairman, even down to the councilor. Build yourself. Get better in your craft, business or whatever legit hustle you engage in. Whether Tinubu fails or succeed, that should be none of your business. Your focus should be how to gain every advantage to be better, make more money and give your kids the best of education. The future should tell more.

Let Nigerians do the Job: You see Tinibu government, allow Nigerians to rate him. Like I stated above, whether he succeeds or fails, shouldn't be your priority. The reason is because his tribe has singled you out as an opposition. They don't care whether we have very committed Igbos in APC, with two governors and numbers of senators, as long as you are Igbo, you are perceived as an enemy that must be dealt with. Nwanne, zere ishi gi. Take advantages of opportunities and grow your personal portfolio, that's what counts. leave the critism and scoring to Nigerians. Bupu ishi gi la nsogbu ndi Nigeria, whether good or bad. Stay on the sideline and observe.

Let's Develop Igboland: I will write extensively on this, but at the moment, take it as a task that you owe your future generation. Enough of the insults and taunts. We have been doing it, but this time, it is going to be a coordinated task which will focus on even development that should encompass social cultural development, political ideology, economy, education, etc. Take note, Igboland is not just the 5 Eastern States.

Embrace 21st Century Business Practices: I'm happy that a lot of us are really getting enthusiastic on the dynamics of digital mode of doing business. If you don't have an online presence, then you are missing out heavily on a huge market. I'm currently handling a project for a guy that relocated from Lagos to Port Harcourt. He is building his shop, majorly into sales of Building Materials. When I sold the idea of owning a website, the guy was elated and embraced the idea. He has been musing the idea but did not know how to go about it. If you own a business and don't have an online presence, please do it. Create your website, get a verified Facebook Page, Twitter Handle, and even a Youtube Channel. You will never regret this move. It is a global village right now.

Avoid Online Banters: Some of the posts and comments you read here are done on purpose to irk you and make you feel bad. But approach every conversation with a calm and civil trait. Do you know certain monikers here are on payroll just for that purpose? Yes, you read me right. Their job description is to antagonize you, abuse you and level up false allegations on you. That's what put food on their table. Would you blame them? The sole purpose is to brand you number one enemy of the state. Exactly what played out before the civil war. watch that video of that Itshekiri Grandma again, so you don't play into their traps.
Sometimes it is wisdom to ignore the fools, while sometimes you should engage them, correct perception, but if you must engage these paid trolls with demonic mindset, then do it intelligently and objectively.

Above all stay focused Don't listen to nay sayers. The East and Igboland is very productive and viable for your business investment. See how Ebonyi is beckoning for business investment. Whoever captures Ebonyi, has the whole of North Central to service. Ebonyi is a green land waiting to be explore. Don't believe fools who keep singing that the east is not viable for business. If Onistha, Nnewi and Aba can thrive without FG inputs, then any part of Igboland can also thrive, if given the proper attentino. We have what it takes to succeed. Ihe anhu unu mere la Lagos, bia meya na ali Igbo. Ta bu ugbua

Stop trying to please them. No mater what you do, they will never like you. Time to move back to the East. Don't allow history repeat itself on you. Chukwu gozie umu Igbo nile. Iseeeeeee!
