Politics › Re: Breaking News! Updates From The Appeal Court (PEPT). by DMerciful(m): 7:13pm On May 09, 2023
Thats why I said only thieves operate in the dark. So if APC says no, the rest of Nigerians cannot view it? How many members of the public can go there, 0.00000000001%?
IamNat:
Relax oga, why are you guys always in a rush to make it look like someone is against you. Did I say they should not grant PDP's prayer? All I'm saying is they can't just grant it without hearing from other interested party, don't forget that this is not a criminal case.

The court is still open for the public, but televising the hearing would have to be agreed upon by all involved parties, since previous cases are not televised, so why would this be different? You don't just force things on people because you feel that's the right thing.

If the government raises fuel price to N1000 per litre, will it affect you or not? If you're a student and govt refuses to align with ASUU and they go on strike for 1yr, will it affect when you'll graduate? Dey play!

No way!
I refuse to be tied that way.
Politics › Re: Grammatical Explanation Of The Condition by DMerciful(m): 3:27pm On May 09, 2023
You're spot on..kudos
annyplenty:
Let us look at the argument grammatically.

What is the difference between the two phrases below

-first phrase
The President and Commander in Chief

-second phrase
b]The President[/b] and the Commander in Chief

The first phrase means the president is also the commander in chief and as such the first phrase refers to the same person

The second phrase shows that the president is different from the commander in chief and as such refers to two different people. That is why the article 'the' is used before the commander in chief to signify different person from the president.

Is there any similarity between the present bone of contention in the country?

To me, I think it is not the and that is used to join the states and the fct that is the big deal but the the that comes before the fct.

That 'the' strongly emphasizes differentiation - meaning the states are not the same as the fct.

Otherwise, it would have been stated as states and fct.
Politics › Re: We Can Disagree With Pastor Adeboye Without Being Rude And Even Deprecating God. by DMerciful(m): 3:24pm On May 09, 2023
If you wanna practice idolatry, we wont join you!
Jnrprince1:
We can disagree with Pastor Adeboye without being rude and even deprecating God in the process by calling him a 'man of god'. Pastor Adeboye would have prayed that same prayer for anyone declared President-elect by INEC. It is not an endorsement of Tinubu. It is an endorsement of God's sovereignty over Nigeria. And he did not even say it himself. Those were the words of his representative, who may not have even cleared them with him first. Even Muslims, who do not share his faith, have never disrespected Pastor Adeboye the way some people who say they are Christians are doing. These guys almost validate the Muslim-Muslim ticket because how do you give power to people who are so eager to insult elders of their own faith? Especially coming from people who have not contributed even a fraction of what he has contributed to Nigeria. Insults did not win the elections for anybody, and they will certainly not win the election petition for anybody. It is possible to disagree with Pastor Adeboye without being rude.

Oya, insult me too!

Your daily bread is tied to politics! The right political leaders determine how prosperous a country becomes so this I-don't-care attitude is what is hurting Nigerians. Its the reason politicians steal with impunity because they know many of you don't care
blowjohn:
Which entire country?

Me I dey find my daily bread o.
Nothing concern me and us and them for their case
Politics › Re: Breaking News! Updates From The Appeal Court (PEPT). by DMerciful(m): 2:41pm On May 09, 2023
They are lawyers reporting it. Its not live, TV stations are interviewing lawyers and few people inside.

The entire country is interested, how many persons can the court room accommodate?
garfield1:
But people have been reporting the minutes proceedings since yesterday
Politics › Re: Breaking News! Updates From The Appeal Court (PEPT). by DMerciful(m): 2:28pm On May 09, 2023
Why are you operating in the dark? People should be able to watch the proceedings like.

You lied, journalists were not allowed in. Phones also were asked to be put away
garfield1:
By allowing the public and journalists in,it is already live.by the way,lp request was rejected yesterday so pdp own too will be
Politics › Re: Breaking News! Updates From The Appeal Court (PEPT). by DMerciful(m): 1:28pm On May 09, 2023
Only thieves operate in the dark. The Nigerian constitution says court proceedings should be public and because the court cannot accommodate enough people who are interested, it make sense to broadcast it
IamNat:
Is it only PDP that is involved in the case? They gave a reason why they wanted live transmission, other parties would also speak in support of it or against it with reasons. That's how it works.
Politics › Re: Breaking News! Updates From The Appeal Court (PEPT). by DMerciful(m): 1:16pm On May 09, 2023
So why not grant it? Why waiting for Tinubu/APC response?
Jorussia:
Is it not PDP that applied for live transmission of proceedings?
Politics › Re: What Will Happen Should Presidential Tribunal Order Rerun by DMerciful(m): 1:14pm On May 09, 2023
That's how you guys said Obi can't get upto 1 million votes yet he got the highest number of votes but was rigged out
sreamsense:
Where are the millions that prefer Obi? Those millions are not enough to carry him beyond 3rd position. Tinubu with more millions than him won convincingly across geopolitical zones in Nigeria. If rerun is to take place, Obi can't get beyond 2/3 of votes he got before, you can see the effect of eye opener during governorship election due to how his impact reduced drastically. I warned obi not to waste his money on court cases, but he wouldn't listen. If he loses the court case which is obvious will happen, he will put himself more for ridicule and will prevent people from voting him again in future because they known him now as Mr bad looser
Politics › Re: What Will Happen Should Presidential Tribunal Order Rerun by DMerciful(m): 1:12pm On May 09, 2023
Tinubu did not meet the criteria, same as Atiku. When Obi results are added and recalculated, he will be declared winner
baretalk:
Less than 6% of polling units suffered irregularities, hence it's not reasonable or fair for judge to order rerun, and the elections cost 400billion naira, will obi bring money for new elections?

Obidients believe Peter Obi would be declared President for getting 25% in FCT while failing to get 25% in 24 other states

Obi's case is from all directions. Supreme Court has no choice!

I fear they might use Osun case to set a precedence that would be used to help Tinubu’s case.

And I say this because Osun case is the first major case since BVAS and IREV became legal instruments of INEC.

Where do you think the judgment will swing from the proceedings in court?

Politics › Re: Obidients Should Drop The SS Must Be Igbo Movement by DMerciful(m): 2:43pm On May 08, 2023
Do not be like Nigeria that is united against Igbos. SS is not one so don't become one to fight against Igbos. There are also Igbos in SS besides SS or SE was proposed by the illegitimate government of Abacha, they're not in the 1999 constitution!
richmond500:
I do not remember saying igbos are my enemies.
I am saying igbos should allow the SS to be addressed as they want to, if any SS wants to align with them, it's fine. They shouldn't jump into it and allow the SS to chose how they want to be addressed.
The relationship between SE and the SS is getting sour every passing day.
In 2015, our relationship was friendly with thesame political value but not so much now.
If things are not addressed, it will escalate into an antagonistic relationship like they have with the Yorubas, if anybody from SS wants to be termed Igbo, that is good but the igbos should not jump into the affairs and start advocating for a referendum in SS.
Politics › Re: Obidients Should Drop The SS Must Be Igbo Movement by DMerciful(m): 1:59pm On May 08, 2023
Why are you guys narrow minded? You fight for inconsequential things. I'm Igbo from SS
too, whats the benefit of your thread?

Everybody in Nigeria is living a horrible life except the political class. Those are the people we should be fighting!

If you're from Edo State, do you have a hand in choosing to come from Edo State? Wake up and look at the big picture Igbos are not your enemies
richmond500:
Today I saw a thread that says there is nothing like SS and the OP was busy insulting anyone who have different opinion.
This rubbish by-force colonization doesnt benefit any of the region.
What we have with the igbos is just common boundary with your states, except that, we are different from any of the big three tribes.
It's just like Edo and some part of Delta sharing border with Ondo but they are not Yorubas.

During the Edo election, the Edo people made it clear to the Yorubas that "Edo no be Lagos". The Yorubas got the message, I did not see any Yoruba that insulted Edo people, no Yoruba man left his state and asked for referendum in Edo land, today the bromance between Edo and Yoruba is still very strong.
But other parts of SS are not allowed to have the luxury of Independence because they share border with Igbo states, if we tell them we love the fact that we are SS, we get insulted for just loving ourselves, even their fellow igbos get insulted for that, we are not allowed to be unique as a region and this is weakening the strong r/ship between the both regions.
A former Nigerian player from Delta was insulted the other day because he said he is not igbo, wtf?

Pls we do not hate any tribe, we just don't want anyone to keep saying we must be part of the big three, respect us and respect our values biko

GOTVee:
sad Even though I'm a born again Christian, I'm glad Peter Obi was roundly defeated. He looks so fake and un-presidential. He would have been an international embarrassment to we Nigerians especially we Christians when he gives speeches with his transgendered voice. His passion for lying is also a huge turn off. Nigeria really dodged a bullet. sad
