Standard of living in the West cannot be replicated in Nigeria no matter the money you have emmaodet: There is a difference between the developed countries and 3rd world countries.
3rd world countries are good to relax and enjoy more because they are cheaper to live with small money compared to the developed world. Most of my captains who are British, Americans, Russians always go to cheaper countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nigeria etc for vacations because they get more value with little dollars they take there.
With 500k per month salary for a family of 4 (husband, wife and 2 kids) in Nigeria for example, you can live in a decent 3 bedroom flat and a better life than someone earning equivalent in abroad. Building a 3 bedroom bungalow cost less than someone abroad with lesser pressure to work. Your work rate will be lower to sustain such lifestyle than even someone renting a studio abroad.
There is a reason my abroadians are always calculating their currency to nigeria to come and flex when they come home. Such money is chicken change over there. Many guys abroad doing dirty jobs and combining 2 jobs are buying lands in high brow areas in nigeria like Lekki but over there, they are more or less a pauper.
Whatever life you think you flex over there or your standard of living, it cost far far less to do that over here. Finish |

I dont believe in defending Delta State like football matches Arsenal vs Man utd. Delta State has no constant electricity, no pipe borne water, no medical insurance facilities, not emergency response like 911 you can rely on, not armed robbers free, so why should I defend a terrible way to live? However, all these things I mentioned are absent in Lagos so the standard of living in Lagos is just as terrible! Do you mean facilitating the almost annihilation of his people is the only laudable achievement of the man?
If you mention Awo to 5 people, what they first think is progressive things, but if you mention Ojuku, it’s always sorrow and tears.

Lagos-Ibadan express was very strong in those days so a lot of propaganda were used. If Awolowo was that good, why did Akintola replaced him? How come he wasnt given a national burial(you can't give national burial for suicide ofcourse), even Nzeogwu and Ojukwu were given national burials. Awolowo died a pained man...till today, they never talked about his posthumous birthday LegendHero: But at least Awolowo did not sacrifice millions of his people like cockroaches which Ojuku of cursed memory did.
Did you saw how Ojuku died? He died senile. Man still bowed to the Nigeria flag and slaved to the end for the same Fula hegemony that almost eradicated his people from the entity Nigeria.
Ask yourself, what are the greatest achievement of Ojuku to Igbo people? What are his footprints in terms of development that stand to this era? When you remember the name Ojuku, it bring sorrows and war memories alone.
If they ask a pry 2 Yoruba person this same question about Awolowo, he will have lot of developmental achievement of Awo that stand to this day.
If I were you too, I will loathe Awo coz he gave the Yorubas what a million Ibo leaders cannot achieve for them. |

If you're talking about Yoruba Nation, I support it because the three major nationalities can only fulfill their potential in their own country where they control their destinies. But if you guys insists on one-Nigeria like you've always done, the consequences is that every inch of Yoruba land especially Lagos belongs to all Nigerians equally! Deal with it! LegendHero: Lagos is in Yorubaland, a larger part of Lagos was former Western region and we have always administer it as that.
I won’t waste time telling Shikodi from Abakaliki that simple thing.
It will soon be regulated coz Nigeria will still reach that level. Then we will know whether an Osun born and an Abakaliki born will have the same status in an independent West.
Until then, just dey play. |

Regulate citizens? When 95% of current residents of Lagos are immigrants including Tinubu, Fashola, Osinbajo, Sanwo Olu etc...the irony is that confirmed indigenes of Lagos like Agbaje and Bode George have been displaced totally from Lagos politics LegendHero: Yes LAMATA is a success story. Except if you can tell us which other government agency in Nigeria outperform them. BRT, waterways, and now rail.
Lagos is trying, just imagine the number of people trooping into that state daily, it is a sub-national entity that cannot even regulate her own borders. You have millions living in that small state without special status.
If the FG give Lagos the power to regulate her migrants, trust me it will be extremely easier to plan and make the population productive. Most of Lagos population are not productive for the government tax wise. We both know this.
Just let half of Lagos population troop to Ekiti for example, and let’s see how their transport agency can create traffic free roads for such magnitude. |
Politics › Re: Chinese TV Station Agog With The News Of TINUBU'S LAGOS Rail by DMerciful(m): 4:25am On Dec 26, 2022 |
Awolowo was improsoned for treason. His endless fight with Akintola led to the insucurity in the West( wild wild west) that eventually led to the first coup. Awol0wo had to take rat poison...it was horrible! LegendHero: What indtitution did Jakande built that outlast him in the magnitude of Tinubu?
Respect to Jakande. But all what he did what basic thing other UPN governors did during their era. He built schools, roads, and low cost housing. Those are basic things that is necessarily not outside the box.
For example, when Lagos had traffic problem, what Jakande built was road. Tinubu went more to build BRT lanes. That’s different from what any other governor has done. Think outside the box.
When Lagos had issue with their finance, Jakande did not do anything spectacular to change that paper system. Tinubu digitize tax system in Lagos and revolutionize that sector. That led to him increasing IGR by over 700%.
What investment did Jakande bring to Lagos that is a cash cow in the magnitude of Eko Atlantic and lekki free trade zone for instance? Can you mention one of the biggest investment of Jakande that still earn taxes for Lagos?
When Lagos had power problem, what IPP did Baba Jakande bring to solve the problem like Tinubu Enron? Did Baba think outside the box from other UPN governors on the need to challenge NEPA monopoly? Tinubu did that.
When Lagos had ghost worker problem, what institutional reform did Baba Jakande did? Tinubu brought Oracle to cleanup the system which reduced the effect of ghost worker to the barest minimum.
Have you seen the secondary school Baba Jakande built? How is that different from the schools built by Bola Ige in Ibadan? When Tinubu came, he started building model college in 2001 which defined the current era school structure and even some states are still not able to meet up with that standard in 2023.
Bro, I respect Baba Jakande but what Baba did are normal things that other governors does. Tinubu is one of the first governor to dream bigger for Lagos and go out of the ordinary.
You see Tinubu, he got different ideology and I think his own definition of success is quite different from the usual method.
Please never compare Awolowo to anyone. He is above all Yoruba leaders including Tinubu so I find it an insult that you can ask me to compare Jagaban to him. By the way, Awo is a regional leader and Tinubu was Lagos governor. Nothing to compare. |
