Also educate your fellow Yorubas that say Tinubu built Lagos. You're conspicuously silent on that
omonnakoda:
The SW is ahead of every other region in human development, IGR, in manufacturing and GDP

Lagos is a contributor .It has always been
Lagos has been ahead of every part of Nigeria since 1900 .. Lagos already had electricity in 1898

We know that Abuja was developed with Niger Delta money in an even unprecedented way? Why has that not made Abuja the number one economy?

Again I have to ask your age

How long was Niger Delta oil an issue from what date to what date?

It became an issue in 1973 after the Yom Kippur war and lasted till the crash of 1983 after that until the Gulf war of 1991 for a brief period when there was the Gulf war windfall used to build Abuja

Between 1983 and when Abacha pied in 1998 Nigeria was in austerity

Between 1983 and 1991 when the capital moved to Abuja the country was broke and there was no major infrastructure across the country. In Lagos the only Notable thing was the completion of 3rd mainland that had already been built to Ebute Metta. in the 80s

So WHEN , WHAT YEARS , is this period when oil money was building Lagos .

You must know when oil became an issue in Nigerian economy and how long it lasted in the context of the history of Lagos
Many of the things the FG spent money on in Lagos were wasteful and abandoned when the capital moved; Federal Secretariat,National Stadium, National Theatre etc Those things are not what makes Lagos boom today

The oil boom of the 70s did not last as long as it did under the PDP government since 1999. The Niger Delta States since 1999 are getting more of their oil money what have they got to show for it?
In 2011 Lagos State and Akwa Ibom had similar budgets but where is Akwa Ibom today
Politics › Re: Lessons From The Second Niger Bridge - Thisday by DMerciful(m): 4:58am On Dec 23, 2022
.You will not agree but as it stands now, Lagos belongs to all Nigerians equally and there's nothing anybody can do about it.

Almost all the major infrastructures in Lagos was built by fg with Nigerian money from 1914 till date. SW should forget Lagos...its Nigerian project.

Lagos was a colony before joining Nigeria but its a conquered place so nobody can claim Lagos esp as 95% of people currently in Lagos are immigrants

Lagos is the commercial capital not because
of the Yorubas but fg so asking about Akwa-Ibom is pedestrian

Lagos was developed partly with Niger Delta oil money. If not so why are other SW states not 1/6 of Lagos?
omonnakoda:
Lagos was NOT developed by Niger Delta resources The first tram in Lagos was operating in 1902 before then there was a telephone link to London.

Lagos has ALWAYS contributed more than it received from Nigeria go and study the annual Colony of Lagos reports

https://www.nairaland.com/4144976/lagos-1898before-nigeria-not-oil/1

Many of you parrot this nonsense about Niger Delta money but the Truth is even before the 1914 Amalgamation Lagos was a contributor

Today there is no state , I repeat no state that contributes more than Lagos State

Abuja is what was developed with Niger Delta and (Lagos) Money

Lagos was not developed with Niger Delta money
Politics › Re: Lessons From The Second Niger Bridge - Thisday by DMerciful(m): 9:56pm On Dec 22, 2022
There is no regional govt in Nigeria! Either federal, state or lg. Mention your state and how much it contributes! Lagos was developed with Nigeria money esp Niger Delta!

Lets restructure so that every state keep their resources and contribute 20% to run the fg, the SW and North would fight it. Your propaganda does not work anymore
omonnakoda:
My Assertion is that the SW contributes NET to the federation account while the SE does not contribute NET rather the SE receives

The SE has no moral basis to call anyone parasites
Politics › Re: Lessons From The Second Niger Bridge - Thisday by DMerciful(m): 9:18pm On Dec 22, 2022
Now you're running away from your assertion because mentioning the states would expose your lies!
omonnakoda:
You are free to ask whatever you like and I am free to answer whatever I like?
If that is so important to you you can research it yourself
Politics › Re: Lessons From The Second Niger Bridge - Thisday by DMerciful(m): 9:16pm On Dec 22, 2022
So why are you clowns fighting against full resource control and restructuring?
omonnakoda:
At expense of those states that contribute NET to the federation account like the SW and SS

The SE is a NET receiver
Politics › Re: Lessons From The Second Niger Bridge - Thisday by DMerciful(m): 9:12pm On Dec 22, 2022
With only an uncompleted bridge that would be tolled and Igbos will still pay part of the loan making double payments! Una mumu never do?
Amperes:
I am not a buhari or APC fan, have never and will never be, but truth be told This APC government has benefited the South East in terms of infrastructure more than any other government since 1999. It sounds very funny, but as much as i hate to admit, its the truth. This goes to show that Elections shouldnt really be about tribe or religion because sometimes you wouldnt benefit from your tribesman being in power. Lets vote wisely.
Politics › Re: Lessons From The Second Niger Bridge - Thisday by DMerciful(m): 9:10pm On Dec 22, 2022
How can s tolled bridge be a gift? Besides, Igbos would still pay part of the loan making it double payments. Use your head!
akpenlegedu:
The ONE and ONLY tangible gift to easterners by APC/ buhari, is all good, though.

Politics › Re: Second Niger Bridge Users Will Pay Toll - FG by DMerciful(m): 10:29am On Dec 22, 2022
Why didnt they start with other completed bridges before now?

Clearly the East is singled out. Yesterday,
they cancelled the Eastern 'Maiduguri rail line, today they're tolling the 2nd Niger Bridge.....

Nigeria has got it coming alright.

Problem with you is that you take pride in your ignorance. To look but not to see
omonnakoda:
You are illiterate and unruly

Did Nigeria start now? Others paid toll for decades so do not twist reality

With regard to now go and do your research for information that is all over the internet. Not only is it all over the internet it is on Nairaland in SEVERAL threads . I will not do your homework for you

Your premise that the SE is being singled out for tolls is simply false. Failing to educate yourself on that and then coming out to spread sentiment based on LIES makes YOU what?
Always emotional, always sentimental always reacting to and spreading falsehood to propagate a sense of vivtimhood

We're tslking now, you're talking 1978 just to justify your hatred towards the East! We dont contibute anything but you hate Biafra and ipob because they wanna leave Nigeria for you
omonnakoda:
Always making noise and talking rubbish
The First Tollgate and Only tollgate for decades was in Lagos on the Lagos _Ibadan expressway which was there from Obasanjo's military government until he came again and removed them when he was civilian president
YES> !!! check

No one made noise no one complained.

You say FG did Zero . What does the East contribute to the Federation Account?
The simple answer is NOTHING NET

What about the PH-Enugu expressway, Aba
What about Abakaliki to Bamenda Road?

GeneralDitari:
Oyo state alone is as big as the 5 South East States put together and Oyo is an homogeneous Yoruba state but no South East State is homogeneous.

Politics › Re: Second Niger Bridge Users Will Pay Toll - FG by DMerciful(m): 7:57am On Dec 22, 2022
If the Easterners pay toll, they invariably paid for.the bridge which technically means they built it themselves.

Fg did zero for Easterners and this is part of the marginalization we've been talking about.

2023 will be a defining moment
LegendHero:
Good. According to Fashola, Lagos-Ibadan expressway will also be tolled when completed. It’s seems that is their new policy now.

Anyone that do not wish to pay toll at the second Niger bridge should jump into the River Niger and swim across or better still make use of the previous bridge.
