But do you know that inspite of the terrorism of the North they are still favorite to win the presidency? How come their terrorism has not impacted their chances? What about the fact that they were 95% the coupists in Nigeria history? ModestGal: How other Nigerian treat Igbo? How now? Only God knows where it emaciated from that Igbo are only intrested in fraud. I want to believe there was an era that many Igbos were into frauds, and rituals and that is what those elderly people still think today. This could be as a result of the war and people had to survive Its just like this era of Yahoo boys, now imagine it was in old times and peculiar to majorly a tribe, that tribe would have that as a stigma forever. But now, there's civilization and behaviours can hardly be sole to a tribe.
It's just like this era, where we have bokoharam, it would be a stigma for Muslims till another era even if terrorism has shifted away from Muslims. But Igbos too can be very bitter, I think Igbos still suffer psychologically from the effect of the war.

They see how other Nigerians treat Igbos so they do not wanna be treated same way hence their denial. If you watch the elites of these Igbo groups outside SE, they identify as Igbos because Nigeria treats the Elites differently. Havent you seen Amaechi, Okonjo Iweala, Okowa insists on being Igbos? ModestGal: Who is against Biafra, I have never been against Biafra, but one of you mentioned that the way some people felt bla bla, difference is that those people you want to in cooperate into your country hates you. You have gone back to your default mode of being against Biafra. Same way you feel indigenous Yorubas outside SW should be incorporated into SW but feel indigenous Igbos outside SE shouldn't be incorporated. You will start throwing up double standards how yours is different. It is this equity and justice that Nigeria lacks as a whole that has been the bane of her existence ModestGal: Really, I don't know who is detaining you people, you refused to go because you want to force the oil producing states to join you, and Nigeria said they don't want. So you agree that Biafra would have gone far? In other words you agree Nigeria is holding the Igbo man down so why are you mad when they wanna be free to attain greater heights? SmartPolician: This is quite different.
The Igbos lost the Biafran war, which explains why the Igbo-speaking people in Rivers and Delta have refused to align with their brothers in the South East.
If the reverse had been the case, they would have been begging to join the country because Biafra would have gone far.
Besides, Nigeria would be treating them as slaves just as they do now (explore and tap your oils and pay you peanuts in compensation).

You can go with the North when the country split, nobody cares! Just know that you've got it coming! DCatt: Did Jonathan take the entire south along?
We voted Jonathan in 2011 but he paid us back with disrespect. Jonathan did not only marginalize Yoruba, he said Igbos were the backbone of his administration, so we thought he didn't need us that much but still got some Yoruba votes anyway. Come on! Yoruba are stupidd but not that stupidd! We gave our votes where we can at least get something for it.
The confab was a waste of time and money. They took most important thing like secession off the table and didn't address resource control. The only thing you asked for then was additional states. There was nothing in it for Yoruba, we didn't get regional govt we asked for. You will soon find out that you didn't just throw the baby with bath water alone but you threw yourselves in the gutter in addition. No president is coming from the "easterner" it's Yoruba's turn to produce the president.
Tinubu had an agreement with the north to support the Yoruba after Buhari and nothing can change that even if y'all kill Tinubu, Fashola or Oshibajo will take it, it's Yoruba's turn.
Aside the agreement between Tinubu and Buhari let me tell you why Fulani and Hausa will support Yoruba over "easterner," did you remember an audio interview of one alhaji and Kunle, where the Alhaji said the north is ready to let the Niger delta go and drink their oil and how the north will stay with Yoruba? Just imagine if they could not really mind releasing Niger delta that has oil when it comes to it, what need do they have for you?
The north knows that Yoruba is a must have on their side compared to any other region and will do anything to appease us. If Yoruba make half the noise you make on secession we will get what we want. But your cry for secession is not being taken seriously because nobody go kuku miss you. If the ground shifts today and add your region to central Africa, no one would notice in Yorubaland if we don't listen to the news and that's how irrelevant you are to Yorubaland. But if anything happens to Yorubaland, Nigeria is finished, now that's the measure of power and what the north will consider when thinking about the side they want to be come 2023! |

Politics › Re: Why Do Some Nigerians Hates Tinubu ?? by DMerciful(m): 5:41pm On Sep 06, 2020 |
The only reason Yorubas now love Tinubu is because they perceive that Igbos dislike him. If Igbos begin to dislike Fayose or Obj, you will see how their love for these 2 will resurrect. What has Tinubu done for Lagos? Absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. I lived in Lagos for 6yrs and I dislike the experience BraggaJ: @oluwatosink: There are three groups of people that hate Tinubu.
Group 1: Those in the opposition, especially PDP. Which is understandable because of his role in ousting their party from the centre. Those that lost political patronage will always hate Tinubu, that's just the nature of politics. They will always twist his intentions and try to make him look bad.
Group 2: Buhari is the second major reason Tinubu is hated by some Nigerians. This set of Nigerians have come to see Tinubu as an extension of Buhari's government because he was the one that packaged Buhari to them for votes. So they project his failures and shortcomings on Tinubu. They don't even care that Tinubu has no say in Buhari's policies.
Group 3: Igbos are the third group of Tinubu haters, and probably the worst of them. They have never liked any Yoruba political leader that they see as a threat to igbo political ambitions at the federal level. This is despite the fact that Tinubu has uplifted and empowered several igbos in Lagos, and influenced their appointment at the federal level. Historically igbos only support weak Yoruba leaders while loathing the strong and politically assertive ones, e.g Awolowo, Abiola, and lately Tinubu.
So there you have it. |

So if you say supreme court judgement is purchased does that makes the judgement invalid? Pls I dont like this back and forth on the supreme court. Running a country is not difficult for a man who has capacity, capability and above all the integrity and patriotism to treat every Nigerian equally. You will only fail when you try to run an unfair system Intrepid01: No it is not wrong in a country where judgement goes to the highest bidder. We all know he purchased it leave sentiments out of it. On what basis are you supporting those candidates?
1. Peter Obi the pathological Russian liar, he’s only second to Donald Trump when it comes to lying. Even Willie Obiano came out with facts to prove that he was lying about the imaginary fund he said he left at Anambra.
2. Umahi, pls show me facts to justify your support for him.
3. Moghalu: you see the mistake we make is thinking governance is an easy thing. What experience does he have to lead a country. I laugh at people like Moghalu, Sowore and even the other motivational talker, can’t remember his name now, who thinks Governance is beans....
You see we all have to understand that we shouldn’t entrust our present and future in the hands of people who have nothing to show that they are capable. I only countered your claim that he is an exconvict even when the supreme court has squashed it shockingly but it's still a fact it has been squashed and we need to respect that. You assertion that I want to market Kalu is false as he will be a disaster if given presidency. He failed in Abia so why will i send a failure to the national stage? If I'm to nominate a candidate from the East it will either be Obi or Umahi or Moghalu. The rest like OUK, Okorocha, Ngige are jokers. But my point is it is wrong of you to refer to Kalu as exconvict despite supreme court judgement Intrepid01: Lol... I laugh at your trial at putting many things in to one comment. I’ll rather ignore the insults. We are not here talking about the best course of action to take about a country that is not working, that is a different discussion entirely and does not in anyway justify your initial position that led to this discussion between you and I. The discussion between you and I has to do with your trial at selling an unmarketable product like OUK. I mean it is a dead on arrival mission, the more reason nobody is taking him seriously even in APC. If he likes let him continue to tour the length and breadth of this country between now and 2022 , he won’t even be considered for a V.P slot let alone of a Prexy candidate. I dont want OUK to be president because he failed as governor however if the supreme court has overturned his conviction as a mistake, why are you holding onto it? Dont you know how the court hierarchy works? Intrepid01: 1. I am not aware there was anything like a pardon before he contested, I’ll need more proof before I can speak on that.
2. It is disheartening that we are here trying to rationalize the candidacy of a widely known corrupt man who has even been convicted by the court. It doesn’t make sense. Even as bad as Nigeria is, I promise him and all you his propagandist the only election he’ll win is in his state or SE. |

Realerreal: Kadiri spoke the truth and pointed out both the strengths and what people hate about the igbos in Nigeria, even before Biafra matter stArted which made people hate igbos even more. The trouble that ensued after Atiku picked Peter Obi from the igbos was a very shameful thing and unknown to them taught other politicians a lesson. Even Atiku will never pick an Igbo man again you be vice. Watch he will go with south west or south south.

What about Gbajabiamila? Is British citizenship acquired by being born in Britain? Are you sure about this cos from what I know this is not the case isthatso: The problem with you people is ignorance.
Bukola was born in England so he was born with British citizenship, he had no choice in the matter, he did not voluntarily acquire citizenship of another country, he did not swear allegiance to Britain. Ngozi deliberately chose to become an American citizen and in doing so she swore allegiance to America. It is part of the process.
It is there in sections 66,107,137 and 182 of the constitution.
Section 66 provides for disqualification from seeking election into the National Assembly (House of Representatives and Senate); Section 107 provides for similar situations in for the House of Assembly; Section 137 provides for the President and Section 182 provides for the Governors. In all cases it is the 1st item in the list of things that disqualify a candidate.
For example, Section 107 provide thus:
(1) No person shall be qualified for election to a House of Assembly if –
(a). Subject to the provisions of Section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, has made a declaration of allegiance to such a country;
The process for voloutary acquisition of US citizenship requires swearing of allegiance.
The difference between Saraki and Ngozi is the word “voluntary”.
She cant even become a minister again according to section 144. (5) which states
"No person shall be appointed as a Minister of the Government of the Federation unless he is qualified for election as a member of the House of Representatives."
Basically, you people are carrying fight for someone who has turned her back on Nigeria.....Quite frankly, i dont blame her. |
