Politics › Re: How Yorubas Made Lagos Former Capital To 7th Largest Economy In Africa by DMerciful(m): 8:26pm On Dec 30, 2019
Nigeria started putting infrastructure in Lagos since 1914 and even before 1914, during the time of the protectorates and you compare with Delta whose allocation increase came as a result of Ibori fight after 1999? If it was done by Yorubas as you claim, why is Osun, Ekiti, Kwara, Oyo not upto 1/10 th of Lagos? Ogun is spill over from Lagos because Lagos has small landmass
LegendHer0:
Lol. Do you know Delta state collect more allocation than Lagos? Why can’t delta state be like Lagos if we are going by your analogy about only crude oil building it’s road?

How much is Lagos IGR compared to the allocation the state gets from the FG? Do you know how much Lagos remit in tax to the FG? Do you know how much Lagos generates from PAYE?
Politics › Re: How Yorubas Made Lagos Former Capital To 7th Largest Economy In Africa by DMerciful(m): 8:02pm On Dec 30, 2019
Loool! Referencing wikipedia that even you can edit. Nobody references wikipedia!
LegendHer0:
Most of you don’t know that the capital of Nigeria is majorly Lagos island during those formative days. Western region actually superintends some part of Lagos before the federal government actually took the rest of Lagos from the western region.

Hence the person you quoted was right when he said Awolowo also built Lagos. Infact there is an housing estate built by Odua groups then during the western region government, I forgot the name.

A little snippet from Wikipedia give credence to my claim.
Politics › Re: How Yorubas Made Lagos Former Capital To 7th Largest Economy In Africa by DMerciful(m): 7:35pm On Dec 30, 2019
Third mainland bridge was built with Niger Delta oil money! All Lagos roads are either federal or state built with Nigerian allocation from Niger Delta again. Calabar was never capital of Nigeria! Ibadan was built with regional governments resources and it ended there. Yorubas see Lagos as their world, 90% of Yorubas I have asked are not from Lagos. Read history and stop listening to village stories!
jneutron4000:
Yes nothing, because even before Lagos was made the capital, is Calabar not the formal capital? What was the significance of the capital if not for the British looking for a way to siphon the resources, the Calabar port was built to export resources and labours. So basically when Lagos was the capital nothing reasonable was put in place rather it became a point of exporting resources and Labours by the British, Lagos started achieving greatness properly during the regional government under the leadership of Awolowo. Abuja is the capital all this while and still the capital of Nigeria can't boost of 24/7 electricity. With all the money siphoned to Abuja I bet you if let say Federal government move the capital to let say Imo, in the next 5 years Abuja will be forgotten and nobody will want to stay there, because it is not viable. Yoruba built, developed and still developing Yoruba land.
I challenge you, mention infrastructure that was put in place when Lagos was the capital of Nigeria and it is still properly serving it purpose.
Take a good look at the Lagos airport under FAAN, is that nonsense an airport angry? Airport that can not boost of something as simple as free wifi, free wifi that ordinary buses in western world have for their passengers. That airport is a dead infrastructure and all the Federal government care about is the revenue it's generate, out of 100% of Yorubas that travel abroad 90% uses that airport, out of 100% of Igbos that travel abroad 60% uses lagos airport the remaining 40% uses Abuja, out of 100% of Northerns that travel abroad 10% uses Lagos and the remaining 90% uses Abuja and we can say out of the 100% of other ethnic groups in Nigeria, 50% uses Lagos and 50% Abuja, you surely pay VAT when you fly that's is incorporated in your flight ticket so Yorubas pay the more tax in Lagos airport and still yet airport looking like a bus garage.

If you're in a hurry to harvest the yam, you will be the one to bend down to bring out the broken pieces. US was in a hurry to leave Iraq after the occupation(Defeated Al Qaeda), so they trained some Iraqi forces to take over. What happened next? ISIS came! Now you want police to take over, that Bokoharam has been degraded but you have not captured or killed Shekau, you have not discovered who their sponsors are but you wanna create a vacuum? Are you wise at all? Where are the Chibok girls?
Jimi24:
Are you scared?. Why Buhari is reducing the no of troops in first quarter 2020 is money. Security is costing Nigeria N700bn in allowances, fuel and food alone. I think Boko is largely defeated. The super camp strategy is working . If they just receive more choppers, they will wrap up the nonsense.
It is also funny that France is reducing their troops and the US is closing their Niger Republic drone base.
Better to shut up and watch

People come online shouting they own Lagos while the socalled visitors are making millions and billions ahead of them. You working in a bank earning less than 200k a month, something a small Igbo businessman in Lagos makes in a day!
Politics › Re: How Yorubas Made Lagos Former Capital To 7th Largest Economy In Africa by DMerciful(m): 5:31pm On Dec 30, 2019
Lagos was not the capital of the western region then but Ibadan. Lagos was capital of Nigeria since 1914 to 1990 so what do you think Nigeria did with her capital during this time? Nothing?
jneutron4000:
Igbo running down to Yoruba to do business is not to favour anyone rather for them to make profits. Yoruba land has provided an enabling environment for business to strive that why you all are setting up businesses here, your tax has little or no effect on Yoruba land rather your presence here is affecting Y infrastructure due to pressure of high migration. The businesses you set up employs little or no Yoruba citizens because they are usually small scale businesses which are usually buying and selling of all kinds of products such as spare parts, second hand clothing (Okrika) etc. So the migration of Igbos into Yorubaland favours only Igbos and the most annoying part of Igbos migration into Yorubaland is that they commits and are involve in all manner of crimes and criminal activities.
Finally to put a stop in your propaganda, there is nothing serious the Federal government did in Lagos Yorubaland rather most of the Development and infrastructure that the Yoruba government put in place from the taxes generated in all Yoruba land and old western region was taken over by the then Military government and now are controlled by the Federal government example the port was build by the colonial to steal then Awolowo refurbished it with the tax from western region, it was taken over by the Muritala government, the Lagos airport was first built during the WW2 and was reconstructed 1979, with taxes from majorly from western region and the name was credited to Muritala cos he was the head of state, the Nigerian Television Authority( NTA) came about and was built by pa Awolowo, Anthony Enaworo etc in 1959 under the name Western Nigerian Government Broadcasting Corporation (WNTV)) but was taken over by the Federal government in 1977. You and I know very well that almost all what the federal government of Nigeria is in charge of not only in Yorubaland but Nigeria as a whole is a total mess, the Airports are shithole, the federal roads are death trap, federal schools are total failures, going to a federal government hospitals is a suicide mission. So you much be out of your mind to start bragging about what Federal government has put in place in another man's land. Yoruba built and are still building Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Etiki, we are also still trying our best to extend our hand to Kwara and Kogi where we have Yorubas.

She need to make attempt to fix the marriage first. Are you going to tell the next man that you left your previous marriage due to mental illness? If you dont tell him and he finds out, will he not say he was betrayed just like her husband is saying now? Supposed the new husband want his own kids, would she oblige and risk recurrence? You can see its getting complicated!
Amanee:
Who says she'll be alone? Open your eyes and wake up to reality. Divorced women are getting snapped up into loving relationships and marriages especially if the woman has achieved something with her life and learnt from the past.

And what's so miserable about being alone? Better to be alooone than to stay married to an ignorant and miserable psychopath

So you want her to be alone for the rest of her life? Or you dont know the children will eventually leave to pursue their own lives? She is also not expected to be in her parents house forever!
Amanee:
It seems like the phrase "in sickness and health" should be scrapped because it has outlived its usefulness in contemporary marriages.

Tons of Nigerian women enjoy suffering because I don't understand the basis of this thread. It's like some Nigerian married women lose their sense of self-preservation the moment they say 'I do' but the sad part is, most Nigerian men don't.

Most Nigerian men retain their sense of selfishness to the core while the women loose themselves on the altar of marriage because why on earth will this op be thinking of going back to a man who abandoned her in her hour of need? huh

If it was a friend now we'll be hearing resolution 2020, cut off fake people. Meanwhile your husband has shown himself to be fickle and self centered and you're considering going back to him. Sense fall on you madam

Absolutely true. The women I know were shipped back to their parents
pocohantas:
Your husband is only being human. Not everyone can handle a mentally ill partner, even though we all hope to have a partner who can do that for us.

Most times I have seen sick married women- they were always shipped back to their parents house for proper care. The ones with elderly kids were moved to their sons house. Nothing new there. How it changed the dynamics of their marriage is what I don't know. However, they never ended their marriages.

Yet the socalled people who have the political power have a far lower standard of living! Abeg shift, that political power will soon be broken!
duwdu:
I'm sorry for your weird line of thinking. You keep boasting you hate and don't like Buhari from time immemorial, yet you expect about 11-15 million others who adore him and have consistently voted for him, to like or support your type and not hate you in return? Or you think the 11-15 million effective voters ain't watching or have been cows? Yet, your own total effective voting population is under three million? Who does that and expects to get a different outcome or prosper politically?

By the way, who are Gani Adams and Fowler [or even FFK their type] in the politics and followership in their respective areas that would warrant you using them as yardsticks in anything? I can tell you for free - their influences are zero, zip, nothing to be reckoned with. So you're just barking up the wrong tree and spinning every little story and gossip that suits you and you chose to vuvuzela.

Actually, I suspect you're just an online chest-beater and noisemaker who cannot even help determine those elected into Federal or state political offices or NASS, from just your own catchment area, for instance. In other words, your views are clearly at variance with those of real voters from your area, otherwise your reps, for one, would be championing your weird messages and cause at the NASS, but they clearly don't, most probably because they know better!

You're permanently wired to never see anything good in the man Buhari for one hundred years even as progress stares you in the face, yet you expect your type and whatever you stand for, or your ever-shifting goal posts, to be agreed to/favored by those others you so deride and who will continue to outnumber you by several million miles?

Anyways, we know where your type of sensibilities and self-destructive tendencies, spins, as well as poor political judgements, led you in recent memory. I can assure you that's not about to change any time soon, unfortunately.

But abeg kontinu, you hia? wink

Some of these projects have clauses, some financed with Chinese loans, cancelling would have been more expensive overall. Besides some of these projects were approved in the FEC. The places where he has sole authority like appointments, he has shown his dislike for Igbos even calling us 7%

But if he hates Igbos would he not cancel these projects you claim were initiated by GEJ?
Politics › Re: Iwuanyanwu: 2023 President Must Come From South-East by DMerciful(m): 8:36pm On Dec 29, 2019
Bubu hated the Igbos first from 1983. Also he said in 2001 that God willing sharia will be spread over Nigeria, Igbos and sharia are opposite. The Igbos believe in liberalism while Bubu believes in state total control, again difference. All the project you attributed to Bubu was started and had gone considerable extent under GEJ else Bubu wouldn't have done anything. His policies are tending to suppress the Igbos but he failed
YungMillionaire:
So why do Igbos hate bubu? He has done far more for Igbos than GEJ (Igbos ONLY adopted son).

Look at them up, they particularly hate Igbos but will turn around to blame it on bridge building.
The only Northerner Igbos don't like is Bubu who doesn't like Igbos as well so the dislike is mutual but Bubu apologist equates not liking Bubu to not liking all northern politicians but Gani Adam's is already lamenting, Fowler is lamenting and very soon Tinubu will start lamenting.

Calabar was never Nigeria's capital. Nigeria came to being in 1914 with lagos as her Capital. Before then you have the Southern and Northern Protectorates but it was not Nigeria and the South and North were different entities until 1914 amalgamation. Calabar was the capital of the Southern protectorate even lokoja at a time
