Christianity Etc › Re: My Pastor Ordered Me Out Of The Church During Sunday Service by dnawah(m): 8:07pm On May 28, 2017
edidiongmichael:
What Happened To Me On Sunday Service In Church

What's your candid view on this?

Recently I joined a church, I know how to play piano but not really well. The church has a standard pianist that plays literally on every church's event. When they discovered I knew how to play, they gave me the opportunity to be playing at least 2 times a month. Honestly, I didn't see myself as a church worker because I've never been to their meeting before. I only play when they tell me to otherwise I stay at the congregation. Last Sunday, I wore a shirt with a suit trouser and a sandals to church, then I wasn't expected to tuck in my shirt with a sandals. When I got to church, the pastor ordered me out of the church to tuck in before coming inside and instructed the ushers to not let me in until I tucked in my shirt. The church was still on and I got so ashamed and embarrassed. Everybody's eyes were on me during that time.

As confused as I was, I angrily left the church that moment to another nearby church.

Then I started thinking, Do we really have to tuck in our shirts to show how holy we are in church? What do you think had prompted the pastor to order me out? Do Christians have a dressing code? Will I be judged on the final day for letting loose my shirt to church? What's your view on this?

Wat kind of operation they want do them?and where 4 their body they want do them the operation?
Politics › Re: Frequently Asked Questions on The Released Chibok Girls by dnawah(m): 6:52am On May 14, 2017
presidency:
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the Released Chibok Girls

1. How many girls have been freed so far?

One hundred and six (106) of the abducted Chibok school girls have so far found freedom. 21 were freed by Boko Haram in October 2016, and 82 in May 2017. Three girls escaped individually, in May 2016, November 2016 and January 2017 respectively. In addition to the girls there are 4 babies, also in the care of the Government. All 4 babies belong to mothers within the batch of 21 girls.

2. What do we know about the 82 girls most recently freed?

The 82 girls were safely released by Boko Haram to the Department of State Services (DSS) on Saturday May 6, 2017, in Borno State — after a lengthy series of negotiations involving local and international stakeholders. The International Committee of the Red Cross acted as neutral intermediaries for the handover of the girls from Boko Haram to the Nigerian Government. The 82 girls were flown to Abuja on Sunday May 7, 2017. They met with President Buhari that day.

3. Were the girls swapped for Boko Haram fighters?

Yes. The Federal Government disclosed this as soon as the girls were released. Please note that President Buhari has repeatedly stated his readiness to swap fighters for the girls, if necessary. We have no regrets or apologies for the swap.

4. Where are the 82 girls currently?

The 82 girls are being held in a secure medical facility in Abuja, with access to a team of medical doctors, psychologists, social workers and trauma experts. They are undergoing medical checks and tests, and receiving appropriate courses of treatment where necessary.
Their physical and psychological wellbeing is and continues to be the utmost priority of the Federal Government.

5. Have the girls’ families been contacted?

Yes, the parents and families of all the girls have been contacted, and arrangements are already being made to reunite them with the girls. We expect that this reunion will happen in the week commencing 15th May, 2017

6. What’s the next step regarding the released girls?

They will be given appropriate and comprehensive medical and psychological care and support. The Federal Government will underwrite all of the care they will receive, as well as their educational ambitions. The ultimate goal is to reunite them with their families, reintegrate them into the society, and support them to achieve their personal, educational, and professional goals and ambitions.

7. What about the rest of the Chibok girls still being held by Boko Haram?

Negotiations are continuing for their release. The sensitive nature of the situation means that there are limits to the kind of information that can be released to the public regarding these negotiations.

8. What’s happening with the 21 girls freed in October 2016

The previously freed girls (21 freed in October 2016, and the additional 3 that gained their freedom in May 2016, November 2016 and January 2017 respectively) are in a secure location in Abuja, undergoing a 9-month Reintegration and Rehabilitation Programme comprising the following:
· Psychological Counselling and Care
· Remedial Education
· Vocational Training (skills like Catering and Tailoring)
· Sports and Recreation (Football and Handball)

9. Is it true that the Federal Government is holding the previously released 21 girls against their wishes?

This is absolutely false. The girls and their parents have made it clear to the Federal Government that they wish to remain under the care of the Federal Government in Abuja at this time. The girls are all in high spirits, and are enthusiastic about taking advantage of this opportunity for education and self-development. At no point have they or will they be compelled to remain in the care of the government against their will.
At the end of the reintegration programme, the girls will take up Federal Government scholarships for the completion of their secondary education.
The newly-released 82 girls will enjoy the same opportunities accorded the 24 previously rescued girls.

10. Is it true that the families of the 21 girls are being prevented from having access to them?

This is absolutely false. The girls’ families are regularly in Abuja to see them. Chibok girls are high-profile targets, and the Government is taking the utmost care to ensure their security and safety.
The girls have also been scheduled for quarterly visits back home to Chibok, subject to security clearance by the authorities. They visited for Christmas, and were due to return at Easter, but the security conditions back home did not permit the April trip. Instead their families travelled to Abuja to see them.
Also note that the persons complaining about being denied access to the 21 girls are not their biological parents or guardians. We are very careful who we grant access to, to see the girls. We will only grant access to their biological parents and/or direct guardians, and not community members, both for security and for psychological reasons. We do not want people to keep asking them questions that will make them relive the horrible experiences they had while in captivity.

GRATITUDE
The Federal Government would like to thank all Nigerians for their support and for never losing confidence in the ability and assurances of Mr. President to secure the safe release of our Chibok Girls. This is the most glaring manifestation to date of the unwavering commitment of Mr. President to secure the safe release of the girls and reunite them with their families. It is also a result of the round-the-clock efforts by the Administration to bring closure to the issue of the kidnap of the girls.
Health › Re: Nigerian Surgeon Removes Lady's Ovary Instead Of Her Appendix by dnawah(m): 9:06pm On May 13, 2017
neky2016:
A 59-year-old Nigerian Senior Surgeon, Dr Lawal Haruna, who reportedly removed a woman’s ovary accidentally instead of her appendix has been struck off after being branded a ‘danger to patients.

He allegedly botched up three operations over the course of two years including removing a woman’s ovary because he said the appendix and fallopian tubes were similar ‘worm-like structures’ in the same area. The unnamed woman, known as Patient B, was treated by him when she was admitted for abdominal pain while he was working for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

During the operation, one of her ovaries was removed leaving her appendix – which was causing her great pain – in situ. A tribunal heard how it was lucky she was not of child-bearing age as it could have affected her fertility.

Dr Haruna botched up two further operations mistaking a lump of fat for an appendix in one case and a skin tag for a harmful lump in another. Colleagues described the operations as poorly executed and ‘never events’. Haruna who claims to have 25 years experience later dismissed the incidents as ‘trifling errors’ and said the appendix and fallopian tubes were similar ‘worm-like structures which lie in a similar area.

The surgeon, who represented himself, told the Manchester hearing he had ‘poor vision’ at the time he carried out the surgery and claimed it would be ‘harsh’ to strike him off. But at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service a disciplinary panel found him guilty of misconduct and banned him from treating patients.

Abubakar Shekau kidnapped some girls (276) from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in 2014.
Shekau who kidnapped the girls from the school also try to make the prime suspect (Mrs Kwanbura) the Commissioner for Education.
Shekau ordered that Goodluck Jonathan should not be informed about the kidnap until as instrumented.
Shekau also compensated BBOG cofounder with a juicy shut up appointment in the Nigeria Port Authority.
Shekau released 24 girls for his presidency's first year celebration in 2016.
Shekau has released another 80 or 82 or 86 girls for the second year in office celebration.
Shekau is a very good Nutritionist. The girls are very fresh after three years.
Shekau is a very good Dermatologist. The girls are without any skin disease, not even heat rashes.
Shekau is a very good hairstylist, the girls made new hair before their arrival. 80 or 82 or 86 girls for presentation.
Shekau is a very good fashion designer, they came with new cloths. The presentation must be an honourable one.
Shekau is a very good make up artist, the girls are looking like Aisha Agbani.
This Shekau has really tried for the Borno state government, I think he needs to be given an award on girls preservation.
IT IS NOT EASY FOR GIRLS WITH "PARLOUR UP BRINGING" TO LIVE IN THE BUSH FOR THREE YEARS WITHOUT BREAKING DOWN.

As religious as our country might be, In Fact home to some of the biggest church names in the world (RCCG, LFC, SYNAGOGUE) it has not guaranteed this nation economic or political bliss.

Church services are known to be very very long, our Orthodox brothers would understand, being one myself, I have over the years become immune to long services.

The youths no longer want to spend more than an hour and thirty minutes in church.

Is this a bad trend considering the Bible said we should keep the Sabbath Day Holy, or have short services where some worshippers arrive only just to share grace taken over..

Laveda:
As we all know, students In nursery, primary and secondary school just resumed for another academic section So I thought I should share this information with us, especially the teachers.

Children are very sensitive, and as such parents and guiders in school should be really careful of the kind of words we use on them. I know some of them can be very stubborn in class even to the extent of annoying you on purpose..

Lemme share this little piece how q teacher lost her job cause of a child.

This teacher asked her little pupil to write, and the child is a really stubborn one. Instead of her to do what she was told she kept doing another thing.. There the teacher said "Because of this your character, I'll kill you"
grin This little girl kept this in her head till she got to the house and reported to the mother, the next day the mum went to the school to meet the proprietress the teacher couldn't give a good explanation for it.. But I'm sure it was all anger and she couldn't control her words

There, the teacher was fired immediately..

The teachers and even everyone should be really mindful of words, Words break and makes a person, we'll be surprised at the level our words can go.

Dereformer:
Fellow NLs, I had a terrible dream this afternoon.

Please, anyone blessed with the gift of dream interpretation should help analyse and interpret the dream.

In the dream, I saw a lot of people celebrating in some states, while some people were actually weeping in other states.

I other states, people were just indifferent.

In the dream, I went to those mourning and asked what happened.
One of the women there told me that they are mourning because some people are rejoicing.

I was shocked. I went to those who are indifferent, one of them told me, to my surprise that there is actually nothing to rejoice or mourn about.

When I reminded him that some people are actually mourning while others are rejoicing.

He told me clearly that the death of man, which is the subject of the mourning and rejoicing by others has no positive or negative effect on them that are indifferent.

I went to those who are rejoicing and asked. One of them told that they are rejoicing and are glad because someone died.

Another person in the rejoicing group told me that he is rejoicing because no body died.

In that confusion as to what to make out of all these stories, I looked closely to the last man that spoke to and I realised that he is a man every body has come to associate with lies.

As I approached him to tell me the simple truth, he started running away.

I pursued him. When I eventually caught up with him, I asked him to tell me the truth of what actually happened.

He said , ' the truth is...' at this point my phone rang and I woke up.

Please what is the meaning of this dream.

Apologies for my typo.

Politics › Re: "Buhari’s Doctors Advised Him To Take Things Slowly" – Garba Shehu by dnawah(m): 8:10pm On Apr 27, 2017
sarrki:
The Presidency on Thursday assured Nigerians that there is no need for apprehension over the state of health of President Muhammadu Buhari.

It, however, said as eager as the President wanted to be up and about, his doctors have advised him to take things slowly.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement he made available to journalists.

Shehu explained that Buhari’s absence at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, was a last minute decision; otherwise, the cabinet and the public might have been alerted in advance.

“As eager as he is to be up and about, the President’s doctors have advised on his taking things slowly, as he fully recovers from the long period of treatment in the United Kingdom some weeks ago,” he said.

While saying that the President himself on his return to the country made Nigerians aware of the state of his health while he was in London, Shehu said full recovery is sometimes a slow process, requiring periods of rest and relaxation, as the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, intimated in his press briefing after the FEC meeting on Wednesday.

He added, “Despite his lack of visibility, Nigerians should rest assured that President Buhari has not abdicated his role as Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria. He receives daily briefings on the activities of government and confers regularly with his Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

“His private residence, in which he has been spending the majority of his time recently, also has a fully equipped office.

“God is the giver of life and health. We are grateful that He has seen our President through the worst period of his convalescence in London.

“We are thankful that the President has passed a number of benchmarks already. We pray that God continues to see him through this period of recuperation.”
