Indeed, Bro, most of the independent marketers are Igbo. Go to Aba and PH and see for yourself. There is also Coscharis oil (Cosmas Maduka of Coscharis motors) as one of the big players. And, who does not know that Adenuga (of GLO, CONOIL, ETB) is a front for thieves like IBB and Atiku? |
And, Oil is also confirmed present in commercial quantity in Anambra. Hence they are now building a refinery -orient refinery- chairmaned by Emeka Anyaoku, former Commonwealth secretary general http://www.rmrdc.gov.ng/MineralRawMaterials/Petroleum.htm http://www.orientpetroleum-ng.com/Exploration.asp?LNK=X |
Fools: There are Nine oil-producing states Rivers Bayelsa Delta Akwa Ibom Imo Abia Cross River Edo Ondo The two core Igbo states (Imo, Abia) combined beat the only oil-producing Yoruba state (Ondo) by far. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=77767 |
mohadana:Another Ignoramus gibbersih. Apart from oil in Igbo parts of Rivers, there is oil in Abia and Imo. And even, several capped oil wells are untouched in Abia. Wait until the MEND guys blow up all the oil wells in their catchment area, then we shall know who is who in Nigeria. Crappy ignoramus. |
pisces20:Yea! You mean embezzle money just like Obasanjo, Tafa Balogun, Fasawe, Bode George, former INEC finance director ''Pastor'' Akanni, and the one from Osun State who died when Obasanjo locked him up for defrauding the national ID card project did. The yoruba are the most corrupt Nigerians, any day. And as for illiteracy, you are ignorant if you do not know that Igbos are far ahead of the Yoruba in education. Jamb records and evidence of Nigerians studying abroad will convince you. For example, the best student-mathematician in Africa is Igbo and in Nigerian, Igbo is number 1 and 3, while Yoruba came 4th and 5th. Even, Hausa beat Yoruba in that mathematics contest. If not for the civil war and Awo's tribalistic indigenisation policy, the Yoruba will be nowhere today. Since Awo died, they have been stagnant, only breeding touts and area boys, led by Adedibu and Tinubu. Remove oil coming from the forner Eastern region, then Nigerians will see those who are hardworking and independent and who are the lazy opportunists. |
sartorius:Your belief or not is crassly inconsequential. Who the hell are you? |
Nobody is black as in black and by that same token, nobody is white. And if you must know, dark skin is the default skin, genetically-speaking. Light skin or the so-called ''white'' is an aberation; a mutation which evolved over more than a million-year time course, when the first men (presumably dark-skinned) first moved out from Africa (specifically East Africa) to colder regions and started becoming light-skinned. So it is not at all a genetic advantage to be ''white''. And, like other genes (G), skin color (phenotype; P) is engendered by the environment (E), the so-called GxE=P interaction. It follows then that the melanin gene is present in every human, but is not expressed in people with long-term adaptation to colder climates. As such, if you put a ''white'' person in Africa, an ideal E for dark-skin pigment expression, there is every likelihood that they get darker over time; and the reverse is the case for a dark-skinned person in a cold climate. This last statement is not an individual genetics but rather population genetics, since it will take more than a million years for this type of reversion to take place and no individual lives that much. But then, it is about the only plausible and scientifically imaginable scenario. But I digress. |
Many people are ignoramuses. Is there any one who is black as in black; and is there anyone who is white as in white? Its rather dark skin or light skin. People wallow in so much ignorance and brain-washing bull-shit. |
South Africa: Robbers Kill Nigerian Toddler in South Africa A holiday trip to South Africa by a Nigerian woman and her daughter ended in tragedy when armed robbers shot dead her two-year-old daughter in Johannesburg on Thursday. Nkechi Obiekwe and baby Tsahai were sleeping at their guest house when two armed robbers opened the door to her bedroom and demanded her laptop, cellphone and money. She added that she was frightened and gave the robbers her money. "Then I turned around looking for a cellphone. A gunshot went off. I never thought they were killing my baby. When I turned to hand them the cellphone, I saw blood. I ran to Tsahai. She was struggling to breathe. She had been fast asleep when the robbers shot her in the head," Obiekwe told said. Africa 2007 She said that the robbers came back and demanded for more money. "I said you have already killed my baby why do you want my money." Police arrived at the scene about 40 minutes later. Obiekwe, who works for the Nigerian Communications Commission, arrived in South Africa on Tuesday and planned to return to Nigeria on Sunday She said before Tsahai was born she had tried for 11 years to get pregnant, and had to seek for medical help. "It took me so many years to conceive my baby, my only child. She was all I had,",Obiekwe said in tears. "South Africa is not safe at all. What can a baby do to stop a robbery in progress," said Emeka Arum, one of the shocked Nigerians who came to sympathise with Obiekwe. Johannesburg police spokesperson Eugene Opperman said the robbers had forced open a window and climbed through burglar bars adding that investigation has begun into the incident. |

A good number of them are Ijaw/AkwaIbom or Delta Edo. You hadly find hunks amongst the Yorubas as their men are usually rotund and pot-bellied, so do not blame anyone if you can't be featured as a hm or bg ![]() ' All these people and countless others are either not Igbo or are just half-Igbo. Yet they have featured in countless so-called English-Igbo movies. How many non-Yorubas have featured in Yoruba movies and why do the Yorubas choose to produce in their language if not to exclude others? As for hausa movies, I can only say try featuring and acting the nollywood way, and what you get is the sharia treatment |

Mark, Sodangi battle for Senate Presidency By Hector Igbikiowubo & Jimitota Onoyume Thursday, May 3, 2007 ABUJA — CAMPAIGNS for the top jobs in the next Senate revved up yesterday as the out-going Senate reconvened for its last lap of sittings. advertisement The position of President of the Senate, Vanguard gathered, was at a meeting presided over by President Obasanjo reportedly zoned to the North-Central. Though there were feelers that Senator David Mark (PDP, Benue South) was being pencilled down for the job, there were indications that Senator Abubakar Sodangi (PDP, Nasarawa) was also considered to have a high chance of clinching the job on fears of possible failure with the David Mark project. Two night meetings were as at press time yesterday set to commence on the issue. One of the meetings involved Senators who are primarily responsible for the choice of their leaders while another meeting involved the out-going President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and possibly his successor, Alhaji Umaru Yar‘Adua, and top shots of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which has the majority of members in the Senate. Another possible contender, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, who had earlier been speculated as a possible contender for the Senate leadership, is described by confidants as keeping her intention close to her chest. “She is keeping her intentions close to her chest and for now no one can say the direction she is going,” one source close to her said yesterday. Senator Mark, Vanguard gathered, was the prime choice of the President who one source privy to the discussions was described as essential to the “President’s post May 29 plans.” What those plans are were not described, but Senator Mark, a retired Major-General, has been a principal canvasser of several political plans of the Presidency and was recently a leading canvasser of the third term constitution amendment project. The minuses against Senator Mark, one Senator said yesterday, included his military background and the religious factor. “Besides the fear of having a military man, if Mark is chosen, it is compulsory that the deputy must be a Muslim but you cannot find a Muslim in the South-East, the zone that is now being pencilled down for the office of Deputy Senate President,” the source said. The contention, according to one source, was that the South-East would be given the office of Deputy Senate President with Senators Ike Ekweremadu (PDP, Enugu West) and Joy Emodi as likely contenders. The other positions of Senate Leader, Deputy Senate Leader, Senate Majority Whip and Deputy Chief Whip would be shared among the other four zones. http://odili.net/news/source/2007/may/3/316.html AND THE WINNER IS ![]() ? |

There is no smoke without fire ke ![]() Breaking News : Ribadu El-Rufai, Others Get Key Posts In Yar’Adua’s Government By Tony Orilade/Abuja There are indications that some key members of the present administration have been pencilled down as ministers in the in-coming administration of Alhaji Umar Musa Yar’Adua, the President-elect. P.M.News authoritatively gathered this morning that 18 members of the present administration would be part of Yar’Adua’s cabinet when the Katsina governor eventually assumes office on 29 May, 2007. Some of the names on the list, allegedly drawn by President Olusegun Obasanjo for Yar’Adua, include: Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the current boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who is expected to be announced as the Inspector-General of Police, to succeed the current IGP, Sunday Ehindero; Malam Nasir El Rufai, expected to be named the Minister of Finance; Mrs. Nenadi Usman, Frank Nweke Jnr.; and Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. Others are: Alhaji Adamu Maina (former PTDF Executive Secretary); Alhaji Adamu Muazu, former governor of Bauchi, who lost the state to ANPP, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu (PDP governorship candidate who lost the Abia gubernatorial election); Mr. Akin Osuntokun, former Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs and Director General, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), etc. P.M.News gathered that unlike in the past when governors were given the mandate to nominate candidates for ministerial positions, the PDP hierachy did the nominations this time around for the President-elect. It was also learnt that ministerial nominees would cut across party lines, as members of the opposition would also be incorporated into the new government. Presidency sources also revealed that the ruling party would not pass through any of the opposition parties in choosing any of their members to serve in the Yar’Adua cabinet. Alhaji Yakubu Jibril, a former field officer in charge of Bauchi State at the National Economic Intelligence Committee, while confirming the nomination of Muazu, said: “We are aware that the federal government will be accommodating Governor Muazu, but we are ready for him because he cannot be our representative. “We have an avalanche of petitions against him at the EFCC and ICPC and we are ready to produce same before the National Assembly, which is constitutionally empowered to screen ministerial nominees.” http://www.thenewsng.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2655 |

Akpabuyo Village Fumes Over Election Materials In Shrine http://www.independentngonline.com/?c=116&a=25322 Inhabitants of Akwa Obio Inwang village in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State have alleged desecration of their shrine over a large quantity of election materials reportedly dumped there by an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The chief priest said the community shrine had been desecrated and insisted that the INEC in the state should perform the necessary rituals before evacuating the materials. He said the gods of the community were already annoyed and will start taking drastic actions against INEC staff any moment from now. The materials were allegedly dumped at the Ekpe shrine during the governorship and House of Assembly elections held on April 14, 2007. They include INEC stamps, ink pad, voters register, bags, ballot boxes and papers meant for the elections. We gathered that the presiding officer said he was going for the result sheets for the elections in the polling centres within the community and did not return until about 9p.m, about six hours after polling had ended. But at the polling centres, the voters and community youths were said to have insisted on him producing the result sheets before voting would commence. We also learnt that when the presiding officer returned to the shrine to pick up the materials about 9pm, he was prevented from doing so by the youths, who have since been keeping vigil over the materials. The chief priest of the shrine, who identified himself as Obong Ekpe, told journalists at the weekend that "this is the first time somebody can be bold enough to dump voting materials or anything foreign in our shrine without recourse to the terrible implications that can accompany such act." Chief Ekeng Ewah Henshaw, who acted as interpreter to the chief priest, said the materials were dumped there by the presiding officer, who he said claimed they would be safe there until he returns with the result sheets for the elections. When our correspondent contacted the INEC office in Calabar, no official agreed to officially comment on the issue. But a top personnel said they were not aware of any election materials dumped in any shrine anywhere in the state. |
I saw that picture of cows on BBC. It was pathetic and shameful. Why would that stupid hausa/fulani cattle herder bring those animals to a polling booth if not for the high level of illiteracy in that God-forsaken region? Even at airports, they allow their animals to move about. OBJ's govt is a complete disaster and the incoming northern govt will be even more so. |
gbeborun:Shut up. You should be more concerned with how yor brother Gorrila Obasanjo has Yorubasanjonised Nigeria. Never mind, soon every nonsense he appropriated to his lazy people will be reversed and Oduduwa abi Odukpangolo will go back to square one. Nonsense and ingredient ![]() |
You must be one of these 419 guys (Igbo, Yoruba, Edo/Delta Calabar) that give others bad names due to greed for monetary gains. Pray, is everything all about money for you? Knowledge is power and who says you must remain in Nigeria with a degree or higher qualification in mathematics? Do not be ignorant, my friend. |
Igbos at least try to manufacture. What do other Nigerians do? Bello MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND NON-IGBO, Commends Anambra Entrepreneurial Spirit By Chukwujekwu Ilozue,Reporter, Onitsha 20th April Local efforts of Anambra State entrepreneurs to boost job opportunities and provide what would otherwise be imported from abroad, thereby saving scarce foreign currencies, has received a loud praise from Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Alhaji Adamu Bello. Bello who was represented by the permanent secretary in the ministry Mrs. Pepple, made the commendation at the 10 anniversary of A-Z motor oil at Nnewi. The product is manufactured by a local industrial giant, Chief Chika Okafor, proprietor of Chikason group, which apart from motor engine oil also produces vegetable oil. Bello said he was impressed by Okafor's doggedness to develop the industrial sector of the economy of the nation through youth employment and wealth creation. Stating that occasion was a giant stride for the home based industries, he noted that for the group to have employed more than 1000 in its subsidiary alone reflected the wish of the Federal Government Government on poverty eradication by the year 2015. Stressing the importance of adequate employment, especially of the youth, he said society would always benefit immensely when people had a means of earning their living. "The tendency is for them to enhance their economic position, provide better education and better healthcare." One of the special guests at the event and Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virgy Etiaba also lauded Chicason Group for the progress it has made in the industrial sector, saying that the government was ready to assist serious investors through the provision of adequate infrastructures and other necessary assistance to develop the state economy and the nation at large. Managing Director of Chicason Group, Chike Ilozue said the company would make 10 millionaires from its Distributors this year and urged them to work hard. Highlight of the occasion was reward to A-Z distributors who distinguished themselves in marketing the company’s products, prominent among which was Alhaji Muhammed Dankinti who went home with a brand new Honda Civic, 6ft deep freezer and N4.2 million cheque. |
