22tr naira which is less than $10b, which is also less than 5% of GDP.

As of may29 2015, the debt was $11b which was 12% of GDP.

Foreign reserve was $29.5b, today more than $45b.
Our annual budget was 4.2tr naira, but today is more than 9tr naira.

We can see how Nigeria is progressing under the best president.
10b$ is 3.6trillion, $45b is roughly N16tr. try learn maths.

Even the people have no regard for the former governors who made no impact to the region. When you talk about big fish in SE politics, you should have called Peter Obi and the likes of him, people who stand for equity and justice.

Be rest assured this man is only decamping with his immediate family if the news is true.
It is not even all the members of his immediate family that will decamp with him. Ayogu Eze cannot win an election in his family compound.

Big fish indeed.

So called man of God always misusing the church to incite rather than to preach peace.
What silly peace are you talking about? Is there peace in the land? Some people have declared war against others and are not willing to stop until they conquer and you are talking about peace.

The only way to peace in the face of an attack is resistance and counter attacks, which turns it to a full fledged war. It is the war that leads to dialogue, which then brings peace. The alternative is to be conquered by the aggressors.

Salvation came to the world through the Jews. Any attempt to attack the Israeli state is met with deadly resistance and that's why there is peace inside the land of is real.

Any man of God preaching peace in Nigeria today is simply saying that the oppressed should surrender.

The country needs fundamental re-jigging. But will the north agree? I have personally decided to abandon the country when the opportunity arises. I am still here due to circumstances—ditto for millions of Nigerians. It has been a long time coming but I have finally concluded that as presently constituted, Nigeria has no hope.

It takes serious failure for almost all the population of a nation to lose hope. And that is what has happened to Nigeria. The people that still get married and give birth in this nation must be very wicked and heartless because they spare no thought for the future of those children.
The bolded is a very strong statement, yet it appears to be true. But what do you want people to do? Stop living? Nigeria's situation is horrendous and utterly hopeless. I don't even know what to say.

Regardless of what the world wants people to believe, showing your unclothedness or semi unclothedness to the whole world can never be a respectable thing. No body from the royal family of england or any respectable and cultured person would appear like this in public.

Compare both pictures: if they were 2 different people and you were looking for a wife, or she was your daughter, or your mother when she was younger, which one would you have preferred to identify with?

Please let's stop hailing what's not right.

Every body na sinner, but trying to make what is bad look good in the guise of civilization et all will lead us nowhere.

Its disappointing.

I doubt if Nigeria can jubiliate as a nation anytime soon. The blood of innocent men, women and children gruesomely murdered may continue to cry out and not let this country make any progress in the near future.

While we pray for Gods mercy on us, if those boys are interested in making progress in their footballing careers as individuals, they should avoid anything associated with Buhari. If not, they will not only lose woefully in this world cup, they may find it difficult to retain their shirts in their respective clubs. Their careers may come to an unexpected and untimely end.

Buhari level of scattering and destroying things is not this play play we are making it look like in nairaland o. The man has a very strong tie with the spirit of destruction and unproductivity.

Thats very unlikely if not impossible.

For those who see evil and defend it due to sentiments, let them remember that everyman must give account of his life to God on the last day.
Politics › Re: Buhari's Archbishop Welby's 'Husband' – FFK by dokie: 3:01pm On Apr 14, 2018
FFK didnt call buhari gay. The statement is basically a metaphor.

That said, I respect men who have the courage to do what I cannot do. Ffk is lashing buhari, the most powerful Nigerian, without any form of fear. He has no security, no immunity; His address is well known to those in power, his family is in Nigeria and he still has the courage to say things the way he does.

The solution to Nigeria's problems lies in the level of courage the citizens have to take up leadership without fear.

Ffk is like a man standing in front of a fully loaded armored tank. If he is killed today, nothing is going to happen and I am sure he knows that, yet he continues to address powerful me bluntly just to speak what he is convinced of.

All of you up there abusing him, what do you have a strong conviction about in life? And if you have any, can you put your life on the line for it? If your answer is no, then ffk is a better man than you, and you have no business criticizing him. If however your answer is yes, start by openly criticizing your local government chairman, who is doing nothing with the monthly allocation he is receiving and see what you will be up against.

Lastly, where did Kachikwu allege that $26B is missing?

He said contracts totalling $25b were awarded without consulting the board. He did not say the contracts were not awarded, nor did he say NNPC cannot account for $25B.

As for the matters he raised, the president should look into them, to rescue his own legacy.
Oga, do you understand the implication of contracts worth that amount being awarded without following due process? It's in the same category as theft.

Politics › Re: Who's The Worst Head Of State In Nigerian History? by dokie:
Like someone rightly said, we have not been blessed with wonderful leaders in this country. However, all presidents or military leaders we had until the first buhari administration did the best they could do (or thought they could do) within the intellectual resources and overall exposure they had at their time. The first Buhari administration was Nigeria's first exposure to a grossly inadequate leadership.

Inadequacy in leadership in addition to widespread corruption continued afterwards, but the return to democracy helped the nation's economy grow thereby reducing the effects of the widespread corruption.

Nigerians started having hope for a better nation. Many people in diaspora chose to return home and were glad they did. Many in Nigeria, stopped thinking about leaving Nigeria for greener pastures abroad, as it appeared that all hardworking and intelligent people could make a good living in Nigeria.

This was the state of affairs until late in Jonathan's administration. Though many believed that administration had the intellectual pedigree to navigate the nation through that period, but Nigerians got impatient and believed we could do better than Jonathan.

Buhari came in, and the economy collapsed. It would have been better if it were only the economy that collapsed but the little level of nationhood that was existing in Nigeria collapsed completely. Worst still is the collapse of hope for a better tomorrow in Nigeria courtesy of the present administration.

So, there is no reason to believe that there has been a leadership worse than the present one in the history of Nigeria. I also do not think that we can have anything as bad as this in Nigeria again. If you ask me, I don't think Nigeria can survive another buhari or buhari type of administration.

The only positive of buhari, and I think I can bet my money on that is that buhari as a person is not financially corrupt and is not much of a materialistic person, but that has not and cannot have any effect on his leadership because he has many other flaws as is obvious to all and sundry.

I think it is sufficient to say that this administration is a calamity.
Politics › Re: Tell Magu To Leave Me, Trump Didn’t Go After Obama’s Wife - Patience Jonathan by dokie: 12:49pm On Oct 03, 2017
silastemplar:
How practical do you think it is that the current government will start investigating every body that has been in government in the past? dont you think it is more practical they begin with the immediate past government especially individuals therein that have huge cases to answer eg Patience Jonathan who has over 20 million dollars traced to her accounts(cash) and many other choice properties.
You see, any administration that is interested in dealing with the corruption issue in nigeria should build up the structures that will address corruption issues, and make it independent of any individual. A system that works, and it may not too be too difficult.

In the banking industry, you can't commit fraud and go free if you are found out. There is a running system and policies in place that ensures that you will pay the price for the crime.

It would have been better for buhari to spend 8 years trying to put such structures in place and arresting no one, than to keep investigating people and locking them up, seizing their properties etc. Only for the corruption campaign to seize the moment he leaves and it's business as usual.

Let's say buhari is sincere in his anti corruption campaign, which I doubt he is, what happens when he leaves? which of the existing politicians do you think will take it to the next level? is it Atiku, elrufai, kwankwaso, lamido or fayose? so what good would all his efforts achieve in the long run for the good of you and I looking forward to a minimally corrupt society?

Essentially my point is that in the long run, nothing will come out of this cherry picking kind of corruption fight. The mere fact that the president is being fingered as the one behind the investigation, meaning that he chooses who should or shouldn't be investigated, is a clear sign of selective justice, which is corruption on its own. As a result of this obvious fact, people close to the former first lady will cry foul and rally round her.

That's the Nigeria of today and maybe tomorrow and perhaps forever.

yet you will see some of our so called youth coming here to defend her. The black man is in serious trouble honestly.
There are those who will defend her for various reasons, primarily because the Nigerian system does not fight corruption, it fights enemies.

If it fought corruption, yar aduas wife should be dancing to the same song, same as Stella Obasanjo (if not that she's dead) and practically all past political office holders and their close confidants.

So it's not about justice, morality, right or wrong, it's about personal, private, selfish interest. Practically everything in Nigeria is about interest. That's why 57 years down the line with the oil and other mineral resources, good weather, population, human resources in strength and mental pedigree, we are still a Third World country or even worse.

Politics › Re: Terrorism: IPOBLOGIC Apologises To Nigerians by dokie: 7:17am On Oct 03, 2017
ipoblogic:
We thought terrorism is to commit mass murder with weapons like the Fulani herds men do. We have now understood that such men who carry out mass murders are the builders of your nation.

We thought your laws prohibit murders, but low and behold, those who killed while shouting Allah Kubar are usually discharged and acquired for lack of evidence.

In your lands, everything is the opposite as normal to men.

So, those who are called terrorists in other lands, are peace makers in your lands, while unarmed men who are not seen as terrorists in other lands are called terrorists in your own lands.
This portion needs to worry anyone hoping for a better Nigeria. It's not about IPOB or Nnamdi Kanu. A nation where things are done wrongly and a large number of the citizenry cheer it simply because they are not affected or they don't like those affected cannot make progress. That's why things are the way they are in Nigeria, 57 years down the line without any singular hope of progress.

2019 is around the corner. Quite embarrassingly, you will still hear politicians talk about the provision of clean water, roads, power, bridge etc. as their campaign promises, after 57 years. What a shame of a country.
Politics › Re: Biafra: IPOB May Stop Igbos From Producing Nigeria’s President – Okorocha by dokie: 11:50am On Sep 22, 2017
Rochas Okorocha like many other politicians are not in touch with reality because they are living off the countries resources.

When you see majority of those that make up IPOB, its obvious that they are a representation of those that Nigeria has not favored in anyway. This class of people form a huge majority of Nigerians be it from the south or north. NK made them to believe that Nigeria has nothing to offer them now or in the future, by a northern president or a southern one which is just the simple truth.

The day the south west , south south and north are able to get someone who will appeal to the poor In their regions the way NK did in the east, they would also realize the truth that no president of the present structure of Nigeria regardless of his tribe can lift them out of their present situation, and you will see an IPOB in each of those regions.

What did the Obasanjo presidency do for the SW,
What did the Jonathan presidency do for the SS,
What did the Yar Adua presidency do for the north,
What did the entire decades northerners ruled Nigeria do for the commoners in the north,
What has buharis administration done for the north, or osibanjos vice-presidency done for the SW,
Have they turned their regions around? Has the poverty level in their regions reduced or increased?
So what does Rochas Okorocha think Ibo presidency will do for the SE?

I am presently unable to see the benefits of secession from Nigeria for the south east, but it's much better than remaining the way we are.

We are all using smart phones to make our contributions on nairaland. Now when our phones hang indefinitely, we flash it to see if it can work again. Nigeria has been hanging for a better part of our 57 years of independence, it needs to be flashed.

Rochas Okorocha can take his Ibo presidency and shove it up his ass.

Funny guys. See the weapon nnamdi Kalu has been stock piling for his Bss from isreal. Jobles tauts.
Chairman, it's obvious IPOB does not have arms. That's the reason why the best weapons we see them bearing are bottles, stones and machetes.

If IPOB begins an arm struggle, you will see arms. When triggers are pulled, the level of education of the one who pulled it does not matter, it goes straight to the target.

I think we should be worried that we have young boys like this who are willing to be part of IPOB. Though they can not stand the Nigerian army in an elongated battle, but they will cause a lot of damage and the world may just get involved and insist on a referendum. At the end, Nigeria will not remain the same.

Every well meaning Nigerian should sue for peace. The only way it can be achieved is by the government cancelling this military invasion in the SE.

I don't just get it. Nigeria is indeed a zoo. A lawyer is defining the laws of the land beyond every reasonable doubt, and we have educated youths here taking sides with illegality.

Look this is not English Premier League or champions league where you take sides because you like this club and you don't like the other. This is about governing a country of human beings for goodness sakes. If leaders can do anything they want outside the law, then none of us are safe. Your indifference or rejoicing will end the day fate brings you in conflict with one who is more politically powerful than you are.

Let's stop all this and unite against the lawless nature of those who should be the law enforcers.

Kanu has a case next month, all buhari had to do was to allow the day come and push buttons telling binta nyako to withdraw his bail. Next will be to completely ignore agitations for his release and then make moves for restructuring or a more inclusive government and this whole kanu thing will loose steem and we all move on.

How can a man over 70 be so unwise and petty?

As it is now, we only know now, we don't know what will happen in the near future. If the ND militants join forces with ipob, and arms start coming in, we are in deep poo. And don't think it won't affect you because you are in Lagos or the north. The dimensions of a full fledged war are unpredictable.

Operation python dance should seize.
