Not going to lie, this b.s is too rampant in the southwest. There needs to be a massive reorientation of our people. Naturally, with poverty, people tends to do desperate stuff for survival, but this is too grim.

Travel / Re: Nigeria Seeks To Diversify From Oil With $41bn Of Rail by Dollyak(f): 8:45pm On Aug 16, 2017
obailala:
A robust railway system is a vital tool for diversification; power also is. Are suggesting every activity on railways should be put on hold while we work only on power?
How can you have an efficient railway system without electricity from power grid?
For comparison, Lagos airport is one of the most expensive in Africa and one of the most underwhelming airports.
Logically, you need power above rail way system.

The whole situation is a mess. Nigeria needs to adopt a DNO, IDNO, ICP and BNO structure similar to UK.
Politics / Re: What Will A Politician Promise U Before U Can For Vote Him/her come 2019 by Dollyak(f): 9:11pm On Aug 13, 2017
1. Sign a watertight aggressive law against corruption. Any corrupt practices would carry a minimum of 10 years without parole.
2. Legal binding promise to set up an independent investigation body to monitor and investigate deep seated grafts. This body must be managed by the public.
3. Total transparency about the government's budget including security votes.
4. Lastly, invest heavily in the education sector.
Politics / Re: Released Buhari Picture Is Outdated by Dollyak(f): 7:27am On Aug 13, 2017
Surely, this has to be a Photoshop. I mean, surely they can't have such a low impression of Nigerians to think they could get away with it.

I shall wait for more confirmation. It's virtually impossible for this to be fake. The fallout isn t worth the little rewards. So I am calling b.s on this shocked grin

Truth hurts. Empirical data has been applied. Now shove your imaginations and wishes up where the sun shines not! Atheists = Suicidal people
Even as a Christian I find your hypocrisy funny. Now, empirical data are suddenly useful because it agrees with your mindset, when in actual fact the reality is more nuance than that.

Isn't it atheist that exalt reason and put a lot of stock in the empirical method and in logic. On one hand we criticise them as irrational and you then proceeded to use the same method on something that isn't so clear cut.

Get sense.

Philosophically speaking, it's an interesting subject I have never paid much attention on. A quick glance at some few stats online does shows some of the less religious countries at the top. On the other hand, economic and social depression could also explain some of these countries suicides.

Firstly, this should be in the religion section.....
Secondly, if the statistics are true, its probably more of a testament to the fact that most horribly depressed, suicidal types are drawn to atheism because they believe there are no redeeming qualities about life.

Most importantly, most religion does regard suicide as a mortal sin that will send you straight to Hell. Atheists obviously do not have this fear taught into them. So while the religious might WANT to commit suicide at the same rate as the non religious , the fear of eternal punishment acts as a preventive to actual action on the desire .

What this indicates is not necessarily that theists are happier, have less suicidal thoughts and better mental health, but that fear of punishment constrains theists from acting while atheists have no such constraint

I actually mixed up mw for thousands of megawatts as available on the national grid. I have modified my initial post.
However, power is measured in watts or megawatts not volts or kv as contained in your comment.
I thought as much. You are right, he can't generate what you initially had in mind.
Politics / Re: "I Generate Over 30MW From Generators Daily In My State" - Atiku Abubakar by Dollyak(f): 8:10pm On Aug 10, 2017
nextprince:

And he has been generating 30mw? Do you know what is a MW?

Do you know the power available at the National grid that Atiku alone generates that amount?
MW is not as big as you think. I should rather ask you if you know what it means. The ADMD of a typical gas heated house is 2kVA Per houses, while an electrically heated property can use up to 9kVA. A typical large supermarket like sainsburys in UK use up to 1-2MVA. Now do the calculation in MW and tell me how he can't generate that much power wink if he needs that much load. There are many generators that can easily generate that amount for less than 7 Million dollars.

Let's be honest, all tribes are slaves to the north. Which other tribes can enjoy such protection or make threat without geting arrested. I give them credit, they have a way of keeping other tribes in check.

So much ignorance on this thread. Inspired architectural buildings serves as big source of tourist attractions all over the world.
In addition, instead of going to Dubai more people would rather spend money there. Thus, creating more jobs and investment into the local economy.
You spend money to make money.

Hope all is well.

The truth is don't derail us with any story of odua republic.

Integration is ongoing

We are restructuring within now

Keep your fingers cross and watch
You are not Yoruba or you are ignorant about the negative effects of Nigerian government on our people.
The fact south west has been declining since the end of regional systems is pretty conclusive. There are too many major tribes with waring interest for Nigeria to succeed.
If you're indeed a Yoruba, open your eyes to the strategic effort to divert all Nigeria resources to the north while frustrating southwest and other regions.

The northerners don't care or love yoruba and they have made no secret about that. So spare us the unionist bull.

Politics / Re: We Are Highly Marginalized In South West - Yoruba Elders by Dollyak(f): 2:25pm On Jul 27, 2017
This is so annoying. The elders and some yorubas knew this and they are still one of the most vocal groups championing the union of this country. Fact remains, Nigerian potential as a function of her human resources (one of the few reason for staying in the union) is merely a fantasy- at least for the short/medium term. Slowly but surely they have managed to kill Oyo state (despite the huge potential) in favour of places like kaduna and kano. Yet, the short sighted youth still continues to shout sai baba.

The short and medium term damage is not worth any future rewards as most African countries are being left behind.
