loool.... A battery-reliant electric car can use more power than all your televisions, computers, air conditioning and swimming pool pumps in the home combined. What are the incentives for consumers? becuase considering the electricity prices in Nigeria couple with the load demand, there really is no cost-benefit to using this. The electric car may seem viable in countries who do not suffer frequent power outages or even load-shedding for that matter., but not in Nigeria. |
JeffreyJamez:There’s a sort of Inception-style issue with your statement. I often find one of the qualities of rape apologist is to use men's plight as a red herring during any debate about women's sufferings. In view of this, your statement does not show you in a good light. |
JeffreyJamez:Sarcasm, whatever the intention is out of place in this discussion. |
Bolustical:Firstly, the narrative everyone is entitled to a political opinion is a logical fallacy, as it fails to establish whether or not the this opinion is true or false. Which lead me to the second point. All opinion are subject to criticism the moment you post send. Thirdly, no where did I stop him from expressing his opinion nor did I attack him for it. Now, you are proper daft because not only is irony lost on you, comprehension isn't your strongest suit either. Simpleton, keep it moving and don't let me smack you intellectually. |
Bolustical:You are not very bright are you? Who gives a damn about nnamdi kanu, do I look like iPod to you? Address the points and stop using ipod as a moral reference to justify this dishonest government. I am partisan, so I call it as I see it. Anyways, your comment shows you don't have the capacity to debate about this government. keep it moving. |

lightblazingnow:Quit this idealistic talk and virtue signalling. Fact remains this government has been divisive, hypocritical dishonest and most of all wasteful. Nigerians have the right to hold their leaders to account without being accused of hatred. Majority of citizens don't have access to world class healthcare and facilities like the elites. With the amount of lies and propaganda you'll mistake Nigeria for North Korea. |
These guys are obviously the big boys in igbo land. They are obviously protecting their interest which I would imagine is substantial enough to warrant such a move. |
Again, one of many reasons why Nigeria is unsafe. |
Fair play, Northeners surely loves their president. In a sane country he would have been forced to step down. |
Isn't it curious how they are more worried about a revert to regionalism than the progress of the country. Nothing is genuine about this country. |
Well |
It's just been confirmed on BBC. I think it's just about time. |
Not going to lie, this b.s is too rampant in the southwest. There needs to be a massive reorientation of our people. Naturally, with poverty, people tends to do desperate stuff for survival, but this is too grim. |
obailala:How can you have an efficient railway system without electricity from power grid? For comparison, Lagos airport is one of the most expensive in Africa and one of the most underwhelming airports. Logically, you need power above rail way system. |
The whole situation is a mess. Nigeria needs to adopt a DNO, IDNO, ICP and BNO structure similar to UK. |
1. Sign a watertight aggressive law against corruption. Any corrupt practices would carry a minimum of 10 years without parole. 2. Legal binding promise to set up an independent investigation body to monitor and investigate deep seated grafts. This body must be managed by the public. 3. Total transparency about the government's budget including security votes. 4. Lastly, invest heavily in the education sector. |
Surely, this has to be a Photoshop. I mean, surely they can't have such a low impression of Nigerians to think they could get away with it. I shall wait for more confirmation. It's virtually impossible for this to be fake. The fallout isn t worth the little rewards. So I am calling b.s on this ![]() |
Cc. lalasticlala mynd44 seun can you guys please edit the title to something less controversial and push this on front page. It would be nice to hear more intellectual contributions regarding this contentious issue. |
NgcoboP:Even as a Christian I find your hypocrisy funny. Now, empirical data are suddenly useful because it agrees with your mindset, when in actual fact the reality is more nuance than that. Isn't it atheist that exalt reason and put a lot of stock in the empirical method and in logic. On one hand we criticise them as irrational and you then proceeded to use the same method on something that isn't so clear cut. Get sense. |
Philosophically speaking, it's an interesting subject I have never paid much attention on. A quick glance at some few stats online does shows some of the less religious countries at the top. On the other hand, economic and social depression could also explain some of these countries suicides. |
Firstly, this should be in the religion section..... Secondly, if the statistics are true, its probably more of a testament to the fact that most horribly depressed, suicidal types are drawn to atheism because they believe there are no redeeming qualities about life. Most importantly, most religion does regard suicide as a mortal sin that will send you straight to Hell. Atheists obviously do not have this fear taught into them. So while the religious might WANT to commit suicide at the same rate as the non religious , the fear of eternal punishment acts as a preventive to actual action on the desire . What this indicates is not necessarily that theists are happier, have less suicidal thoughts and better mental health, but that fear of punishment constrains theists from acting while atheists have no such constraint |
Above all, I wish Buhari a quick recovery. However, he needs to step down IMO. |
nextprince:I thought as much. You are right, he can't generate what you initially had in mind. |
nextprince:MW is not as big as you think. I should rather ask you if you know what it means. The ADMD of a typical gas heated house is 2kVA Per houses, while an electrically heated property can use up to 9kVA. A typical large supermarket like sainsburys in UK use up to 1-2MVA. Now do the calculation in MW and tell me how he can't generate that much power if he needs that much load. There are many generators that can easily generate that amount for less than 7 Million dollars. |
What's up with the self serving topics popping up on Nl these days. |
common sense i would say. |
clarocuzioo:Let's be honest, all tribes are slaves to the north. Which other tribes can enjoy such protection or make threat without geting arrested. I give them credit, they have a way of keeping other tribes in check. |
Then the law needs to be fixed as it's clearly broken. Leaving this kind of vacation as a grey area will leave it subject to abuse as is the case with Buhari. |
RIP My best wishes to the family. |
This seems unbelievable |
So much ignorance on this thread. Inspired architectural buildings serves as big source of tourist attractions all over the world. In addition, instead of going to Dubai more people would rather spend money there. Thus, creating more jobs and investment into the local economy. You spend money to make money. |
If you can't understand basic sarcasm get yourself out of my mentions.
if he needs that much load. There are many generators that can easily generate that amount for less than 7 Million dollars.
