If someone told me I would have said for where.

This year the LORD embarassed me financially, he took me to another level in the area of giving, followed by promotion.

I have rest on every side, my siblings are doing fantastially well, next year I am getting married to my sweetheart.

Looks like all this post-TS bull-run is now B.S. (like my word-play huh?  tongue) FCMB had only 2(?) days of gains and now loses? It goes to show, if you have a stratgey that works, others will adopt and eat away at the margin till the strategy ceases to work.
Easimoni, you forget that the market is thin at the moment as folks have started to decamp to their village  plus there are many other juicy offers so folks may not be rushing for FCMB. Naija investors are also getting sophisticated with the so called "strategy".

JUST SOME MORE ADDITION:

YOU COLLECT SO MUCH MONEY FROM ALL THE UNCLES AND AUNTIES BUT YOUR MUM TAKES MOST OF IT TO "KEEP FOR YOU" AND NEVER GIVE IT BACK angry , ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES YOU GET LUCKY AND SHE FORGETS TO COLLECT.

YOU ALSO STEAL SOME MEAT AND IF CAUGHT YOU TELL MUM/DAD THAT IT IS JUST THE ERUNRUN (small bits).

YOU STEAL STORE AS MUCH MEAT AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE LIKE 3 DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS WHEN MUM IS GETTING STRICT WITH MEAT YOU CAN BRING YOUR STASH OUT AND SMOKE GARI WITH IT grin grin grin

If you are baba ajasco's son and you marry Sikira omo oni iresi you can survive on N12k a month.

dollyptcute,

You say we have basic facilities in naija,
well pardon me but i must you're blind
people buying generators, eating 101,001,100,010, all that formulas,
people buying pure water every day , no taps running with water,
and u say we have basic facilities,
just think if that money was pumped into the power sector, how many lives it would change,

you don't have to go to church to know your God, a rapper once said!
I AM NOT BLIND BUT STATING THE FACT. YOU MAY SAY IT HAS BEEN SQUANDERED, VANDALISED, BASTARDISED, SABOTAGED.

BUT IT EXISTS

UP UNTIL RECENTLY WE WERE SUPPLYING ELECTRICITY TO NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES YET WE WERE SUFFERING FROM POWER FAILURE.
WE HAVE AMPLE PETROL YET SUFFER FROM SCARCITY - YOU GET THE DRIFT?

THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA IS NOT MONEY BUT MISMANAGEMENT.

DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH LOAN WE INCURRED FROM THE WORLD BANK YET IMPROVEMENTS WERE NON EXISTENT UNTIL SOME SMALL RECENT CHANGES.

IF TODAY RCCG DONATES THE MONEY TO THE GOVERNMENT TO FIX THIS SO CALL BASIC AMENITIES BE SURE IT WILL DISAPPEAR.

I WILL NOT COMMENT ON THE LAST STATEMENT, LIKE YOU SAID "A RAPPER SAID IT"

How many structures did Jesus build during his time on earthhuh
I know he won many souls though,
Its not by the structure its by how you impart the lives of many, win souls!
Nigerians are suffering, we don't need massive structures ,
we need basic facilities, light, water, shelter,
not massive auditoriums, can they live in it?
answer: NO undecided
@1boi
I already mentioned Solomon's temple. Jesus went to worship in a Temple.

There is no doubt about the many souls won through RCCG

There is no doubt about the many outreaches and missions to the poor being carried out by RCCG.

We do not need basic facilities in Nigeria we already have them.

What we need is good leaders who have integrity who will not siphon the countries resources to foreign land.

If the redeemed church of God did not build a $60million worth of building it does not solve the poverty of Nigeria.

It is easy to point fingers.

There was a thread set up a while back asking how much Nairalanders are worth and folks came here parading that they have millions and thousands stashed up in banks and stocks. No one thought of putting pictures of poverty on the thread page. Among people posting against the building are folks who drive merceedes, jeeps, live in the UK splash on holidays yet they have become suddenly wise on how to spend church money.

@Mamajama go and read about Solomon's temple in the bible and how God blessed Solomon. God instructed David who was solomon's father on how the temple should be built.

The people who donated money for the building did it of their free will, so if they choose to donate money for a building rather than buy clothes for themselves IT IS THEIR PEROGATIVE.

Okay the good times are here for the NSE, First Bank offer merely completed in July, hopes this means early release for share certificate.

NSE LIFTS SUSPENSION ON FBN SHARES

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday lifted the technical suspension placed on the shares First Bank of Nigeria Plc, following its recent public offering. The shares which were suspended at N40.40 gained N2.02 yesterday to close at N42.42. FBN had offered for subscription 1.6 billion ordinary shares of 50k each at N33 per unit and right issue of 1.4 billion ordinary shares of 50K each at N31 per unit, at a discounted rate of N7.40 per shares, N9.40 per share respectively. There are indications that the bank may have raked in over N500 billion from its recent offer. Thisday checks revealed that management of the bank is presently in talks with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with a view to absorbing all the over subscribed portion of its offer. In another development, the NSE yesterday listed 634 million ordinary shares of Airline Services and Logistics Plc at a nominal price of 50 kobo each at N4 per share. The shares attracted traders' attention as a total of 2.8 million ordinary shares valued at N12.1 million executed in 233 deals were sold. The shares which were listed at N4.00 each appreciated by 20 kobo per share, closing transactions at N4.20 per share. Meanwhile, the price movement chart of the NSE displayed 59 stocks that appreciated in their prices. Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc led the price gainers with N3.00 to close at N170.15 per share. On the other hand, prices of 54 stocks dropped. Nestle Nigeria Plc led on the price losers' chart. It recorded a loss of N5.70 to close at N214.30 per share. Thisday, p. 75.

aylala2002:
My regards to everybodi on the thread, most especially to all the gurus, y'all doin a great job, it's simply amazing to watch this thread grow this tall!

However, Hay Why La La isnt too happy cause of the current plummet in the share value of my darling GTB. I have therefore decided to give an insight into what could be responsible for the downward trend in the share price of the 6th largest bank in Nigeria (by assets). Other comments as to the causative factor will be highly appreciated, smiley

WHY THE PRICE Of GTB IS SLIDING,

The price of GTB is currently witnessing a plunge due to no other reason but the GDR offer which just got concluded. The reference price fixed at $12.75 was not matched by bidders in the local market; reports reaching the research desk has it that the GDR was bidded for @ a price of $11.20, translating to N1,411.20 for 50 shares of GTB @ an exchange rate of N126 to $1, since 1 GDR is equivalent to 50 shares of GTB. This brings down the valuation price of GTB to N28.22 per share (this is ridiculous!). The GDR is sure going to be a better option for investors with GTB trading @ N33.00 as @ 23rd of July, 2007. Arbitraging, the action embarked upon by investors due to the price differential between the GDR and the shares on the floor of the NSE, will definitely bring the two prices @ par in the not too distant future. GDRs’ prices should be fixed as the offer opens in subsequent times with GTB learning from the floating price scheme. A total of N134bn or $750m was realized from the offer as GTBank deposited the certificates to CSCS.

I therefore envisage a valuation price of N30.00 for GTB going by this current development, but please bear in mind the price will soon be on the upward trend as we await the interim dividend in two month’s time, we therefore forecast a price of N40.00 for GTB in the short-term.

Thank you
I suspect a lot of folks who buy the GDR will opt to convert to ordinary shares soon because the dollar is not the favorite currency at the moment

"He said the commission would not tolerate any sharp practices in the capital market, adding that Sec had recently sanctioned some operators who defrauded investors in the market.
Oloyi said the commission did not think such issues should be brought to the notice of members of the public because of the sensitive nature of the capital market and the need to sustain investors’ interest in the market, especially now that it (stock market) has begun to attract foreign investors"

InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by dollyp1cute(f): 12:48pm On Jul 20, 2007
"Now this is what we are talking about"

SEC WARNS FIRMS OVER DELAY OF SHARE CERTIFICATE

Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has threatened to sanction any capital market operator who delays issuance of share certificates of shareholders after the commission has approved the basis of allotment o any offers. Mr Lanre Oloyi, head of media relations of the capital market regulatory agency, said yesterday that the sanction has become imperative to ensure that investors’ confidence is sustained in the market. Often, some company registrars or even companies that issued shares delay the release of share certificates for several months, thus denying subscribers the opportunity to sell the shares if they wish to. This kind of situation frustrates subscribers especially those who have urgent need to sell and have cash to attend to some other needs. Oloyi said SEC is appealing to all operators responsible for issuance of shares certificate in the market to be alive to their responsibilities so that whatever caused the delay were rectified. Fin.
