NSE suspends 50 stockbroking firms
Posted Thursday, June 21, 2007
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday suspended indefinitely 50 stockbroking firms for unwholesome practice in the sale of 400 million shares of NASCON Plc. Dr Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, Director-General of the NSE, who broke the news in Lagos did not mention the affected members.

Unconfirmed reports equally alledged that about 200m units of the shares were reserved for 'interested parties' and could have been the reason why these firms were suspended.

It will be recalled that NASCON shares of about 400m units were offered for sale on 1 day - Friday 15th June 2007 because of the rule that no one person can own 75% of a listed company. Thus Dangote Industries had to give up some of its shares to comply.

I CAN IMAGINE CASH CRAFT WILL BE ONE OF THEM.

Try my brokers, Lead Capital. Website is www.leadcapitalng.com

They require N1m and they allow online monitoring on a daily basis. But expect poor service (2+ days to execute an order) and ZERO analysis.
@Easimoni,

Squash that, Leads are taking like 3-4 days now to get back to you o, they are really posing these days for me.
Took me raking on the phone before they could get me Mutual benefit, and they been showing funny transactions on my account. It's taking them forever to reflect deposit paid to my account.

But compared to cashcraft sha they be Oga.

InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by dollyp1cute(f): 1:53pm On Jun 11, 2007
You need no minimum amount to get a stockbroking account in UK, you can buy shares from £50. Stock can make you money and yet they are making it difficult for the common man to start investing.

I love my country but their ways and backwardness is aaaaaaaaaaargh.

When are we ever going to learn Dollyp talks to herself "breathe girl, breathe you are talking about Nigeria here, chill out, it's not worth it2

Right back to stocks, i suppose money to buy IPO from the broker will also count towards the minimum angry abi it is not so/

@Obamedo you took the words out of my mouth, there i was ready to deposit sizeable amount with this Cashcraft people based on the fact that i was told they are focussed on asset management, have good website blah blah. So i sent email for someone to get back to me as i need a point of contact o true one Sunday guy got in touch after about a week or more and he has not replied my further queries since May 25th. Anyway he can forget, I can imagine what it will be like when i have now made the deposit angry.

I have stayed with my original broker jeje at least he gets back within 3-4 days.

No wonder people are wary of investing in Nigeria.

Which reasonable person will buy Access bank at the price that you intend to sell especially now that it is on Technical suspension. How I wish people get to undertsand that the prices of some stocks are moving based on the activities of the market maker/core investor. Once they move out of the way, you will be out and dry. That's why companies like Afro Oil, Wire and Cable, Afprint etc with no sign of productive activity are having price movement. Once the market maker stops the 'artifical' movemnet, try selling and see what will happen!
I love it when people on this thread have taken the time to investigate the shares they are buying at least to a certain degree, yet again i see a lot of people hoping to DOUBLE money asking for stock tip like no man's business.

People I hope y'all have your strategy and spend some time to read about the companies, it is your money you are investing not someone else's and the information is out there just search and by all means google away.

@dollypcute,
N1 change in the stock price of any security i own goes a long way in determining what my portfolio is worth so i always hv to get a rough idea of what next to do.
eg, if oceanic doubles the PO price, i make about N3m, so every naira gained or lost is golden
Tmoni you are trying me o shocked shocked shocked N3m kilode, is it only you, you made like N1m for access you should have enough money by now to retire. Please move and let us thousandnaires make some dosh.

What exactly is the news you want to hear?
I have a feeling you sleep with one eye open to watch your investment, the PO barely closed about 2 months, experienced gurus have said it will take from 5-7 months even with the electronic certificate, furthermore someone has answered on this thread that over subscription will be absorbed (how true that is me no know).

No wonder your brokers are giving you stories, it's because you have itching ears grin
Christianity EtcRe: How Do I Know If God Is Speaking To Me? by dollyp1cute(f): 5:35pm On May 29, 2007
If what you hear is in line with the word of God and you have a peace in your heart which is unexplainable then it is God. When God has spoken to you, you are no longer confused, God's voice just settles it just like pmdaboh said about her experience when she was going to Nigeria.

Even if there is a danger ahead and God speaks to you, you will have his peace and his assurance that you will be victorious.

Please understand that God will speak only if you are willing to Obey and you must obey the last word he gave you before you move ahead.

Guess what even i am being blessed as I write this.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO FOR US?
-Please what can you do for them. If I give you answers, that will be for me and may not suit you.

WHAT IS A MECHNICAL ENGINEER COMING TO DO IN A BANK?
-Mechanical engineers are responsible for things that have to do with motion. When machines are not moving, a mechanical engineer is the solution. When machines are moving, a mechanical engineer is responsible for keeping it in motion.
I'm choosing to look at your bank as a machine in motion. As a mechanical engineer, I can contribute my quota to the smooth running of the bank and you can be rest assured that indicates my unwavering and unflinching interests in keeping organisations running smoothly.

WON'T YOU BE BETTER IN ANOTHER FIRM?
-Yes I could be better in another firm, there's no doubt about that but I believe that your bank is also a good company and it wouldn't be a bad idea starting my career from here.

RomanceRe: Caught My Husband With His Mistress In Our Room by dollyp1cute(f): 2:12pm On May 24, 2007
Even though the vows you take say for better for worse e.t.c, unfaithfulness in any ramification is a serious issue.

We are not talking of the guy being broke, loosing his job, having a deadly disease (by the way he needs to check himself, you never know) we are talking of seeing him in the act with another on your bed

Once you have caught him in the act you can not fool yourself any longer and it is obvious that he has been doing it for long while to the extent that his folks have told you about it. Now to add pepper to injury on YOUR MATRIMONIAL BED, what was going on in his crazy head, sorry i got carried away.

That just suggest to me that he has no respect for you 1) it is not one off and not the first time 2) it is with a regular partner not a random girl where you can comfort yourself that he may never see the person again 3) it is on your Territory.

Girl you can not just forgive and move on, a lot of women make that mistake, and they carry the wound for years hurting the man time and time again for something he has forgotten about.

Give yourself time, keep him in view but at arms length (don't keep him too much out of sight if you want him o, there are some hungry lionesses out there), both of you need to go for counselling and learn to build trust again, ask him to prove to you that he is worthy to be taken back and that he has learnt his lesson and respect you. That is where counselling comes in s

Don't just go back because you are married you may end up being miserably married for a very long time, and God help you if he does it again.
