some people on NAIRALAND are too ignorant of certain things in life. anywhere in the world, if a plane crashes, the airline will still be going on with their normal business. how on earth will a sane govt revoke the license of DANA in the first place?
have it ever occur to us that DANA was given the AIRLINE OF THE YEAR 2012?
am very sure that most people on NAIRALAND has never see an airport, not to talk of entering an aeroplane. Thats why you people will just be saying trash and rubbish just for talking sake.
for our perusal, DANA AIR, is still the best in Nigeria, irrespective of sentiments and perspectives.

it is very disheartening and clueless to listen to people talk trash on NAIRALAND. i guess the youths of Nigeria has lost focus and they need re-orientation. How can Ahmadu Ali summarily said the whole of Yoruba people are ungrateful. that statement is preposterous and incongruous. it belittles the status of a man who in connivance with OBJ swindled the educational level of Nigeria to this state of abysmal carcass.
for point of correction, OBJ to the best of my knowledge, was too PAN-NIGERIAN than ethnically driven. He never built or construct anything to the region he came from. I want anybody to come out with fact and dispute this. Awolowo did much for the people of Yoruba and that's why they still revered him.
The same Ahmadu Ali once said that Telephone wasn't meant for poor people, but for the rich. When he was the minister of education, he stop the feeding of university students, diverted educational funds to his purse and took negative projects which we are still trying to solve. He was also an apostle of do and die politics.
in essence, there is no tribe in this country that can't do without Yoruba. moreso, there is no region in Nigeria that is more developed than the southwest. also, there is no region that is most sophisticated and civilised than the Yoruba. It still amaze me that IGBO people always tried to ridicule the Yoruba people. I can still remember vividly that Awolowo, in his magnanimity, brought tons of clothes to IGBOLAND, propagated free education for the IGBOS and even gave scholarships to these ungrateful people. more than 80% of all the Professors of IGBO origin benefited from the largesse of south-west govt under AWOLOWO. yet, whenever people mention awolowo or yoruba, THE IGBOS are always full of jealousy as if we are the one obstructing their progress.

Since we love to celebrate mediocrity in dis country, we shall never develop. In a sane country, the govt or NCAA sill not have revoke the license of Dana in the first place. The International Civil Aviation Organisation stipulates dat whenever there is a plane crash, the airline will continue flying and investigations will continue. The MD83 is still widely used in Europe. The AIB is the only agency empower to investigate crashes and not the general assembly. The NCAA has the right to revoke and invoke and not the president or national assembly.
For our small brain, plane crashes do occur everyday all over the owrld. And do the national assembly of those countries revoke the license of the affected airlines?
Do we want to send the employees of Dana to the realm of unemployment?$
Like it or leave it, Dana is still the best airline in Nigeria followed by Aero. If u are a regular travellers, not useless people bragging on Nairaland, u will knw dat Dana's service is second to none and they do observe safety issues with maximum attention.
I hope our youth could shine their eyes and see beyond their nose to knw dat Dana plane crash was cause by
1. Patience Jonathan who on her visit to Lagos, cause the Lagos airport to be shut for other approaching aeroplane
2. Human error on the part of the pilot and the air hostess. Fatigue set in as a result of the numbers of hours the pilot had flown on dat fateful day.
3. The inability of these major airlines to be plying other less notable airports. The pilot shou verte otrad or ir. H. Was shut in lagos.
Concusively, most of those people brandishing Dana as incompetent were once their loyal customers, especially the members of the national assembly, who love seeing those air hostess in their seductive and sexy skimpy dresses.
I hope Nigeria is not derailing

As far as I knw, we never chose our religion, our parents chose which religion to follow. Right from our childhood, we were carried to either mosque or church or whatever, and as we grow up, we were initiated into these religions. It is never in our making dat we belong to either christianity or islam, it was our parents dat actually lay the foundation for our belief. About 95% of christians and muslims today started when they were kids and not when they grew up.
If u are a Yoruba man, and u live in the midst of Hausa people, definitely, u will be initiated into Hausa language and culture. That's how religion looks like.
If u are a catholic, anglican, reedeem, deeper life, nasfat, traditionalist or whatever, u were only following ur parents footsteps and not by ur own conviction.

You people are so naïve and lack paucity of informations concerning aviation sector. Am an aviation expert of this country. The North dominates every sector of aviation in Nigeria, followed by the south east and the yorubas. The Yorubas are just the minute educated ones who were sponsored by the Tafawa Balewa regime to study abroad. Immediately Jonathan became president, he removed Engr. Oduselu as AIB director and put an hausa man there. He also remove a niger delta man as FAAN MD and put george Uriesi. Systematically, Stella Oduah, being the GF to Jonathan recommended the total removal of some tribes so dat her tribe of niger delta can have edge in terms of position.
The same Oduah forced the airlines to buy adulterated Jet A1 fuel which caused the Ana plane crash, but people will never talk. The same Patience Jonathan who in her power, never allow the dana plane to land just because she wanted to take off which was the immediate cause of the accident.
In essence, to be fair and honest,aviation wise in this country, there is no other persons or group of persons dat can stand the level of these people...Engrs. Obadofin, Demuren, oduselu, Capt. Dele Ore, Aekerele, and Edward Boyo.
Professionally, technically, and academically, there is no region in Nigeria dats more endowed dan the south west. The records are there

if the FG start paying 50k as allowee, people will still complain that it's too small to maintain their daily upkeep. I guess what they should do is that anybody serving in remote villages should be paid 50k and those serving in cities should collect 20k.....that will be a better equation

To me as a person, the aviation minister's style of remodelling airports across the country is just a way to siphone money to her accounts. Me as a Cabin Crew, who has virtually flew to almost all the airports in Nigeria, I almost feel ashamed of our airports whenever we have dignitaries coming from other countries. How can the aviation Minister spent a whooping 900million naira on remodelling GAT, 850m remodelling PH international airport, 900m remodelling kano airport, 700m remodelling Benin airport and billions being budgeted every year to remodel MMIA? Yet all these airports in Nigeria with exception to MMIA, MM2 and Kano, looks like a Primary schools. No architectural works, just leather tents that covered the inner chamber. The worst airport I've seen in my life is dat of PH...very ridiculous to be called international airport. The more the remodeling, the more money is being cut-cornered. Nigeria is at a crossroad, yet we fly to different countries daily...is this how their airports looks like?

I have a dream, dat a time is coming, when the President of Nigeria will be seeing buying Bole and groundnut in any shop of his choice without fear of kidnapping or assassination.

When are we going to stop dis mediocrity and face the reality. We should always cultivate the habit of leaving the stage when the ovation is loudest. Buhari should count himself as elder stateman like shagari, shoneka, IBB, abdulsalam and leave this country's governance for the youth. After the 2011 presidential election, buhari said he will never contest again. If Buhari can break this promise, how can we then trust him with power and authority.

I do wonder at times whenever I go to Lekki, Ajah and Oshodi. You will see so many irresponsible youths gaurding their streets collecting toll money just because you drive through the street. The money will then be used to procure drugs and hot drinks. These set of people have constantly constitute menace to the peace of these areas. Am very much happy for this development and I hope after the passage of the bill into law, necessary enforcement agencies should be empowered to enforce the law to the letter

How i wish God can just come down and tell us the religion He wanted.
If an inscriptipn says ALLAH which denote God, how does dat translate to mean we should folow islam. The questipn i want to ask is this. Why is it in Nigeria something of this nature do happen.
