Fear not, you only need to convince the VO that you have a very strong relationship with your sponsor. Know more about him. Many people came here with letter of sponsorship including me.
Good luck. thanks for the reply bro. please what kind of questions do they ask during interview for one using spinsorship letter. cos my sponsor is in luxemburg and I just a family friend. can I claim him as my uncle even if we dont bear same surname? |

futurewise11: This question has been asked more than 50 times on this platform.
Secondly just two minutes research on google will give u answer.
Anyway, you can only withdrae approximately 680 euro monthly. In my opinion, block account is the best option.sponsorship letter entails alot. As per form A, averagely it takes 3weeks to process. Stanbic and Ecobank is better in that aspect presently. You dont need a domicilliary account for the transaction. Am Sorry bro. How do u mean it entails a lot. cos I plan on using the sponsorship letter route. thanks |

Leprof1: Good Morning everyone
I am an ardent follower of this new thread since it began a while ago and it's been filled with amusing, annoying, helpful and snobish folks... All facets of every human characteristics is ably represented here.
But I have also noticed that there are very few people taking up bachelor's degree in Germany, as most are going for masters degrees. Bearing that in mind, I feel it's time to start a new trend/line of information for people who are willing to take up bachelors degrees in Germany.
I will be documenting my experience here (as I am in the process of applying for a bachelor's degree) and will be answering any questions that anyone may have in that regard. I also in return will be looking forward to learn more from the experiences of others
SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION
I will be applying for a Bsc in Computer Science and a Bsc in informatics as my second option. All my documents are being processed in Germany from Language school, up to Studienkolleg and the University afterwards. I will be based in Cologne (this is where I hope to have my language course done). The student advisor in charge of my application suggested I take up an offer at a University of Applied Science (UAS) rather than a traditional research university (TU) because of the availability of job opportunities for students even before graduation. The jury is still out on what I will choose (Whether TU or UAS) but for now I will go along with his advice. They will also be handling the processing of my insurance as well.
I am being sponsored and therefore do not require opening a blocked account. Currently I am in the process of getting my WAEC and other certifications I had gotten afterwards, notarized at the German Embassy in Abuja. Hope to get that done by the end of today and I will be sending it via courier with DHL (I no get strength for NIPOST and their wahala abeg... Better soup na money kill am). If all goes well today, my documents should arrived in Germany by Thursday or Friday this week as DHL promised to have it delivered in 3 days.
My Journey So Far My sponsor is an old friend of my dad and they lost touch for many years. Sadly he passed away while I was in high school. Fast forward to early this year, thanks to the power of social media (and my penchant for unnecessary research when I cant sleep) I reconnected with my dad's friend and turns out he was visiting Nigeria and Abuja was on his list. We met up and talked, asked about my plans for the future and I told him about my plans for Germany. He was really impressed when he found out I spoke a bit of German on my own (I studied online and can maintain a semblance of a basic conversation) and later said I should begin looking at study options in Germany for which he would pay for.
He recommended a Language school and I got in touch with them (and a few others in Berlin and Cologne as well), But the one my sponsor recommended were more than willing to work with me (they also have a campus in Berlin as well in case anyone is looking to go there). They offer a university pathway program for about 2600euros (incl. Language courses from A1-B1). Then studienkolleg and Universty afterwards.
I have other certifications but they are not recognised but Anabin (the directory for all things certification in Germany). So it is deemed that I have only WAEC, and this is why I have to take up studienkolleg for 2 semesters after my B1 language course (you cannot go past B1 if you are heading to Studienkollege).
If you are already in a public university or any institution recognized by National Universities Commmission (NUC) and want to transfer to Germany, you can avoid 1 year of studienkolleg by providing them with your transcripts of your time in school. With these you can apply directly to University after completing your B2 or C1 German course and taking the TestDAF exam.
So today, I will be visiting the German Embassy in Abuja and will get my documents shipped off afterwards... Its free what from what the embassy told me if you are notarizing you documents for University.... Will keep you updated
Cheers Thank you for this information I want to also study BSc in Germany. |

temzybabe: Beware of destination addiction. The idea that happiness is in the next place, next job or even with the next partner. Until you give up the idea that happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are. I know what some of us are going through cus of this cic delay but we shouldn't allow them determine our future for us. That we applied for visa doesn't mean we should just sleep and eat all day waiting for cic to reply us. Let's find something doing. Apply for jobs or something. I was like dt abt a month ago. I was always staring at my phone. Checking mails every minute. I couldn't eat well or sleep well. I know Canada is a good country but then, are we going to kill ourselves? To be honest, if they don't give me this visa I won't reapply cus I can't go through this a second time. And immediately I realized this, I started another application to another country. Now I sleep well. Of course Canada is better than the other country I applied to but trust me anywhere is better than Nigeria presently. And not going to Canada first doesn't mean one cannot go to Canada in future. After nysc, I didn't even bother to write any cv cus I felt shebi I'm going to Canada ni. But really it shouldn't be like dt. It should be in such a way that the visa is going to be a bonus when it eventually comes through. There's nothing bad in having to choose from different options at d end of the day. The main thing I'm trying to say is that we should try to engage in productive things and not just sleep, eat, read nairaland lol, and wait for mails from cic. God didn't create us for just that. We shouldn't allow Canada give us hypertension Well said. , mine used to be US embassy I used to believe that I shouldn't engage my self in anything since I was going to the US soon until the embassy burst my bubbles thrice. I have now engage in a job that keeps me busy to even read naira land steady talk less of check up on my application. If CIC like let them give me visa, if they don't like they should hold it... I won't kill myself. |

gurus i hail ooo! after waiting for my gcms file for almost 2 months, they sent it to me on friday (94 pages) most pages were my cic forms and personal docs of me and my sponsor. Truly canad and US share information, it was stated there, they matched some of my biography with the once i submitted at the US embassy in 2013, 2014 and 2015 when i applied for student visa which was refused i was advised by US consular in my last interview to try my education else where thats why i picked canada. this is the officer's note: Docs n notes reviewed conclusion: Limited previous travel demonstrated - Limited family ties - applicantis single and young with no listed dependants - concerns over personal finances. Majority of financial documents sumitted are for a third party. Not satisfied that applicant will readily have access to the available funds stated on application forms. Applicant has not provided compelling reasons to study in canada. Unclear why applicant would incur cost of relocating to canada to rather that undertake similar course of study in country of residence. Concerns applicant is using study permit as means to facilitate entry to canada rather than educational advancement. Based on available information, i am not satisfied that applicant will leave canada after end of authorised stay. Study permit refused.. application date : 2015/nov. sponsor: Uncle Dad's brother. (US citizen) medical doctor. reason: my dad is late that why he is funding me statement of account: $100,000usd course nursing school: conestoga college fees: $13750 (paid part tuition of $6750) to conestoga reasons for refusal ticked; Travel history, personal asset and financial issues, purpose of visit, family ties in canada and nigeria.
To all in the trend: i need your input, if there is any need applying again cos i dont even know where to start tackling these issues. honestly i am tired and frustrated. i have spent a lot of money on US and canada |

For UnderGrads, it usually takes anywhere from 1 week to 2 weeks to decide on your application.
