The person isn't working yet but hoping to look for a job somewhere, or go into business.
The person is not mobile.
The part of ikorodu is this igbogbo area or ijede. How good is the light there because the person needs light for online business. Thanks
Ok, awesome.

I have not lived in Ayobo, but from what I have heard the place is "not so good"

I know someone who lives in Ikorodu, Igbobo area, Ofin to be precise. The electricity is fair, but not perfect. Roughly 8-12 hrs per day, it can be unpredictable sometimes. But light is sure everyday.

Regarding transportation and good roads, the roads at Igbobo and Ofin are a bit bad , it costs roughly 200 Naira to get from Igbobo/Ofin to Ikorodu garage, from there there is BRT straight to the Island .

From what I can decipher, the person is trying to cut cost on accommodation expenses .I would have suggested Isawo, electricity is considerably ok there, heavy military presence, but the Agric-Isawo road is extremely terrible, especially when it rains.

You can also consider Kola Alagbado/Sango axis, where my family used to stay at Kola, there is sometimes as much as 1 week uninterrupted power supply (I kid you not, not even a blink), I am not sure if its still that stable.

I stay in Sango, some parts have 24/7 electricity, where I stay 11-12 hours is sure everyday, I also work from home, I am a programmer, I build websites and mobile apps, I help businesses build their brand to increase sales online and offline. I have a small inverter to supplement power, it rarely dies. I have not used my generator in almost a year. Sango is also very peaceful and quiet too !!, just the way I like it...

The only disadvantage is its distance from the island, but if the person spends 70-80% of his/her month at home, it really does not matter, sometimes in a whole month, I don't go anywhere at all..

Accommodation is also very affordable in this axis.

Weigh the pros and cons, and decide which works best for you

You both and everyone else on this forum are entitled to their opinions.
Its funny that I am being called myopic grin and a fool grin grin.
Trying to reply you guys further is really going to get nobody anywhere.Your minds are made up on your ideas of how marriage should be handled.
Do what works for you both, and I wish you well smiley wink

LordKO:
Conceitedness is God's gift to small-minded people like you and your ilk. I mean, it smacks of mental parochialism for you to continually dismiss and deride others, or cast aspersions on them, either directly or indirectly, just because they do not share same myopic thoughts like you. In fact, any sane person who reads through that your first post will see that you based your wack submission on assumption - assumption remains the mother of all nonsense. Sane people make contributions based on fact available, not assumption.

Next time avoid deriding others all in the name of trying to appear wiser and more civil than them. Who conferred you title of the wisest and most civil person alive?

The OP's wife isn't a deity, as someone stated, and deserves no worship. Self-esteem and politeness beget respect, and respect is reciprocal. People should stop enabling nonsense under any guise.

Stop being conceited.

Wise words, you know people who are married and value marriage by the kind of advice they give

Tocynone:
I understand you better. Although my marriage is just 7years+.
My advice
1. Take a leave from work
2. Swallow your pride (men)
3. Stay indoor with your wife 3days all through
4. Tell her your fears of loosing her
5. Eat and Pray together (Master key)
6. Learn to cuddle and appreciate her beauty
7. Secretly do a DNA
8. If all these are not working, then BE A MAN AND FACE YOUR FEARS.

My 10cents though
Kenfil:
Lemme give you this advice as a married woman and one that knows how the US is.
1) Talk with this ur wife. Try sending some quality time with her so u two could try hashing things out.
2) I would suggest secretly doing a DNA since that pregnancy was prior to ur wedding. U r never sure
3) If that lady continues with the bashing and demeaning attitude, please dont take her along to the US for now. If your Visa works, travel and hustle first for some time. Provide for the family, visit home, re evaluate her and then decide when to file for her ie if that child is urs. Spousal Visa doesn't take long. I wish u all d best.

DONT EVER PAY HER EVIL WITH EVIL.

DrBrainstorm:
Wetin na bros na Diety she be?
She is not a diety, I have not said anything out of the ordinary.

All I listed should be "Marriage 101" to anyone who wants to have a happy home . And oh I forgot to add that it should go both ways, a wife should also make her husband feel wanted or appreciated, I just advised in favor of the wife because OP is male. I would have given the same advice if it was a female asking for advise .

There is absolutely nothing wrong with pampering your spouse and getting deeply connected with them and to know and understand their needs, fears, and worries.

Many factors would determine the best option

Would the person be driving, or using public transport ?
Where would the person be working or selling if that's the case
What's the person's budget for accommodation and what size of accommodation

Concerning electricity and security, it depends on the part of Ikorodu, Ikorodu is a very large place !

Family › Re: My Wife Changed 2 Weeks After Wedding!! by Donald3d(m):
Marriage hmmm.... cheesy
As I always say every problem(s) has a solution .
My advice would have been different if you were not married yet.

And from your story she was "perfect", cooks, financial supports and all that before marriage. I am also assuming there was also no sign of insults to you or your family before marriage....

The first sign of trouble(according to you) was the birthday issue, after that multiple issues followed.

There are two possible sides to this, she is either a pretender(faking being good at the beginning) or she changed .
If she was faking her good character, to be honest, its almost impossible to resolve this.
If she changed, there is a chance things can be fixed, thankfully, you are showing signs of willingness to fix things.
The next thing to do is to find the root cause of what the issue is.

Please do not listen to people trying to make you violent . As much as they deceive themselves into thinking they are " Alpha Males " , as I always say, a true "Alpha Male" is one who knows how to neutralize situations before they escalate, who knows how to earn respect even with silence, who knows when to be tough and when to act like a fool (yes !, like a fool !), you have no idea the things you can learn and the problems you can avert just by keeping quiet and not reacting. Also a true Alpha Male knows how to Listen !!....He handles issues with wisdom and logic, he understands how to create a balance

No matter how this is viewed, she was/is wrong on all levels to be disrespectful to you and your family. But you are in this already, it can be fixed (if you both are willing to) . Pause your travel plans for now .And remind yourself about this, a good number of women act "emotionally" and not "logically", so you should be the bigger person here. Remember this advice is coming under the "impression" that she was not pretending to be a good woman and she actually just "changed", I am also giving this advice under the notion that this is not a case of pre/postpartum disorder/condition.

Do you remember this statement :

She lamented she was not getting anything from the relationship, I don't usually take her out, I didnt celebrate her birthday well for her, I didnt buy cake, I didnt buy gift etc
From all you wrote, you are a good man, but I want you to please Listen better, pay more attention. Take her out, buy her gifts, send her romantic text messages, leave hidden notes around the house to make her feel appreciated and wanted, ask her how her day went and be interested in her daily activities, even ask her how she prefers sex !, create time for her and remember to Listen attentively to every single verbal and non verbal message she sends across ......The gifts and outing doesn't have to be very expensive(it can if you can afford it), just show you care, buying her something she loves as frequently as you can. I used to know a lady that would be swept off her feet when you buy her this chewable chocolate called Parago, it used to cost just #10 Naira. I know it sounds crazy but that's what she loved. What does your wife love Sir ?. What sweeps her off her feet ?

Now to the most important questions, most men always fail to ask their wives . Have you asked her "Baby what do you want , what do you need, is there anything I am doing wrong, is there anything you want more of, is there anything you would like me to improve on". Sit her down and in a calm way ask her these questions, you would be very shocked at the replies you would get.

The thing about marriage is, sometimes we think we are getting it all right and we are perfect, but from our partners perspective, there is something we are not doing right, or they just probably misunderstand us. Asking her the questions above, would bring to light the things you probably need to amend and also bring to light the things she is misunderstanding that you need to clarify to her.

Remember, speak softly and act wisely while you do this, get her in a good mood, probably by buying things she likes.

Again, I am not justifying her actions, if she changed and she was not pretending to be good at the beginning, something might have caused her to change, and she is just handling it the best way she feels it can be handled, although badly.

Dear husbands and wives, if your spouse is doing something you don't like or not acting or living up to your expectation, please stop trying to pass non-verbal messages. People don't talk and communicate anymore !!! why !!!. Tell them how you feel !, call them aside, have a heart to heart talk with them about what you don't like instead of going on a rampage and acting up !!. Above all learn to be tolerant too, you don't have to react to everything, especially the things your spouse is not directly responsible for(your mother did this, your sister did this).

Let's all act in wisdom please.Remember that love and marriage cannot work without massive amount of commitment, sacrifice and selflessness....At one point or the other, you or your spouse would have to be the "fool", the "subdued", the "sacrificial lamb" to make things work. Be selfless.

Another important thing is boundaries, once you are married or committed to someone, understand that ex partners have to be eliminated in all possible ways from the picture.Make this known to your spouse and have an agreement on it

And OP remember to pray too, for God to touch her heart(Proverbs 21 vs 1), but also remember that just praying without acting is useless.

I pray your marriage is restored.

NB:I purposely left the child and suspected infidelity issues out, since you said you now trust her and she trusts you.

Family › Re: Do intertribal Marriages work? by Donald3d(m): 5:58am On Jul 11, 2019
Yes they work...

Any marriage can work.

-The priority is marrying the right person

-Focusing on the right things, the things that matter, like who the person really is.

-Not allowing third party interfere, as harsh as it may sound, your brother, sister, parents are third party...People should learn to put family in their place. It doesn't mean you don't love them, it just necessary for the flourishing of your home.Marriages with excessive interference from family rarely survives, too many people are trying to give their opinion on what is right and what is wrong.

-Being kind and selfless. I have studied a lot of marriages that have blissfully made it past the 15+ year mark. Apart from love, the secret to their success was mostly just kindness and selflessness from both parties..Ironically, that's the real definition of true love, selflessness and kindness, not what people nowadays have turned it into

-People who marry not only from the same tribe but from the same village can still divorce, if they don't focus on the right things.

What's the point of all my epistle ?
Nothing would ruin your marriage except you give it permission to.

Family › This Is For Those Who Are Trying To Be Logical About Rape by Donald3d(op): 5:09pm On Jun 30, 2019
I tried so hard to restrain myself from talking about the currently trending subject matter. But I can't just keep mute with the overwhelming ignorance deeply rooted in so many people.

I would do my best to keep this as short as possible.

If you have never being raped, or if you have not helped rape victims recover, you can NEVER know how it feels.

I have personally counselled some rape victims, most of them who opened up to me, have never told a single soul. Why ? they were scared !

Scared of stigma, scared of what the predators would do to them, scared of not trusting anybody again, scared of the unknown.

You have to understand that rape is a very serious case, and the gravity of the seriousness is almost equal for both female and male victims.

It scars the victims so much that some of them never get to experience a normal life.

Some of them turn to sex addicts because of the early exposure to sex (especially the males), some of them even become sexual predators themselves!, some become very withdrawn and hate men so much, some vow never to get married, not only because they find it difficult to trust any man, but also because they are scared of their future kids going through what they went through. This short summary of what they go through is very small compared to what they actually go through.

I see a lot of people trying to be logical with Bukola's story. NEWS FLASH !! a good number of rape victims I have spoken to and helped recover, always sound illogical at first, till I got a deeper understanding of why this was so and what was really going on.

You see, rape is more complex than just a physical act. Most molesters use one or both of the major “tools” used in perpetrating this heinous crime. PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND PHYSIOLOGICAL MANIPULATION.

The second is the most deadly and the one with the most potent power to paralyse its victims and turn them to zombies. It makes the whole story lose logic and sound stupid.

One of the victims I spoke to shared a particular account with me. And she said point blank that she didn’t in anyway try to resist. Ignorant me at the time asked her why she didn’t at least try. She said there was no point, it had happened to her so much that it looked like it was impossible to get out of the situation. There was a Psychological Cage !!! which was the consequence of Psychological manipulation.
Psychological manipulation can be a very powerful tool when used positively, but can also be deadly when used negatively. It defies logic.

A guy who was also molested by his cousin also finally spoke up after 20 years !!, he was barely six when it started. He didn’t have the courage to speak up.

When it comes to rape, logic most times has no place.

And for those seeking and asking for evidence, do you expect someone who is probably trying to fight for her life to pick up her phone and start recording herself going through a nightmare ?.Some rape victims out of shame, fear and unexplainable feelings even terminate and destroy evidences themselves.

Is the Pastor guilty ? I don’t know . Is Bukola lying, I also don’t know.

For those hammering on logic, can you logically analyse why a married woman, who has an obviously happy home, awesome husband, would come out and try to drag somebody in the mud, while also dragging herself, and her entire family in the same mud ?.She is not broke, her husband is not broke. She obviously has more to lose in this situation. Can you bring out the logic in this and exonerate Fatoyinbo ?

The purpose of this is to make you understand that is if you are looking for logic and evidence in a rape case especially the one that took very long for come out, I am sorry, you might not find one.

The sad part of rape in my experience so far is that YOU reading this right now , knows at least one person who has been raped before. Some of them have just not being bold enough to talk to you about it .Your friend, brother, sister, mother, wife, colleague, boss, someone you know has gone through or is currently going through rape. Don’t be an insensitive pile of dogshit .

Again, you would never understand or comprehend or properly be able to logically analyse what it means to be raped until you have experienced it yourself, or counselled someone who has. Please speak wisely only of what you are enlightened about.

For the Christians reading this, understand that even if a man is called by God himself that does not stop him from falling to the weaknesses of his flesh. This is why you should stop giving too much respect and adoration to your pastors. Let the Word of God and the Holy Spirit be your ultimate and final guide, not your pastor !!

For the parents reading this, ruling your home with a iron hand only fuels more silence and distrusts from your kids. If you are not approachable they would not open up to you, learn how to train and correct your kids with love .They are not the cause of your problems and frustrations. They are depending on you to keep them safe.

And for the very strong victims (past or present) reading this, I want you to know that you are stronger than you imagine. If you have overcome the trauma, I am happy for you, if you are still battling this issue, I also want you to understand that there is a solution and this monsters are cowards, they are feebler than they appear, I want you to please find someone you can trust and speak up. Don’t let the cowardice of one or more people drain your life into an abyss. Life is beautiful and there are still nice and awesome people who would not cause you any harm. You are loved and can be loved, much more than you think or imagine.

Politics › Re: IG Writes Saraki, Lauds Senate For Supporting Police Reforms by Donald3d(m):
Let me break down in very simple terms what Nigeria is.

Nigeria as a country is like giving a contract to a team of bricklayers to build, then you notice different parts of the house keeps falling off, yet you still keep employing the same set of bricklayers over and over again, while your house keeps falling apart.

For Nigeria to move forward as a nation, we all need to change our value system.
The average Nigerian is wired to be greedy and has little or no empathy and would fatten himself at the expense of others.
Some Most people bashing politicians would do same or worse if they are given a shot at the seat of power.

So what is the problem ? - Our value system !

A problem is better resolved if it's taken from the root.

Once we have fixed our value system, the next stage is to stop employing the same bricklayers(politicians) that built a faulty home(country) for us.We need fresh hands, smart minds and most importantly, people with the right value system, people who have feelings for the common man.

As crazy as it sounds, there are many families, somewhere in Nigeria, as I type this who have not eaten for days.

We can all cry and complain online, but if we don't all do our little bits, in our closets, we can not excel as a country.
It's pertinent to understand that, evil can not thrive where good is in abundance. What do I mean ?, the country/leaders are just as bad as MOST of its citizens are.

A drop of poison in an ocean cannot kill the fishes there, but a drop of water in an ocean of poison would yield no positive result.

Why am I saying all this ?. Most people reading this are either parents or would be parents some day.Train your children well, imbibe in them the right value system.Nurture them like they are going to be responsible for a nation one day, because they all would be.

Teach them not to lie, not to steal, to treat other people right. Most importantly lead by example, because children don't follow what you say, they follow what you do.

The little drops from each of us, good or bad, is what would determine our success or failure.

Kindly patronize me, I build professional websites and mobile apps. I also help businesses(services, brands and products) with the right online strategies to ensure their success. My contact details are in my signature. You can also reply this message or send me a private message.
